Today I'm 4 days past ovulation- I think. So that makes me due AF 8th May.

I'm 27, and first month ttc #1.

Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat?

Managed to dtd the minute I walked in, let's hope the reservations from him in the past few months are a thing from the past (when he didn't have a job for September sorted).

You're probably going to think I'm mad but have put my moon cup in so that nothing can escape

I'm thinking of leaving it until I go to bed and lie down flat on the sofa tonight. Of course I'm not telling dp about this next level of madness.

How is everyone else getting on?

I can't believe how excited I get when we actually manage to dtd at the right time.

Now to make sure we dtd again tomorrow, Thursday and Friday

It's still quite early days for the OPKs isn't it? Do you do temping too? I'm thinking about trying it.

Boring update here. I went to the docs this morning as I still feel funny but there are a million and one reasons why that could be. He's done a blood test to rule out ectopic but said very cheerily: 'So you're 36 and have one little one, plenty of time to have lots more if you want them!' which made me feel better as I do worry about being the oldest woman in the world trying to have a baby.

Where's our Never gone? I like having her around for chat and also she's our little lucky buddha pregnant person.

Feeling very humph. DH not interested. Actually being a bit of an arse. Seems to have forgotten sex ed from school and what making a baby involves. May well miss this month due to his tiredness. So unimpressed but I refuse to go crazy and start going over dates and days with him. Stuff it.

Hi lod nope it's not too early with opks. I should get my + tomorrow morning (fingers crossed) and then will test again Friday to check the surge has finished and then that's it for the opks for this month.

On a 28 day cycle you should test between cd10 and cd15. I don't temp, I don't stay in my own bed often enough to give accurate readings and am not a good sleeper so would struggle to do it after resting for a straight 5 hours. The benefit of opks over temping is that it tells you before you actually ovulate whereas temping confirms whether you did actually ovulate but only after the event. So in theory once you get a + opk you will ovulate any time between 6-24 hours after the last + test. Hope that makes sense! Its good to just check that you are getting the surges, I'm a bit of an addict because I didn't ovulate for 18 months and so each time I actually do I get super excited. I don't think I'll need to bother testing so often now as I know my cycle is working.

lod I know what you mean about getting on a bit! I'm 33 and still don't have 1 and so will be at least 36 if not older by the time I have no 2. But did you hear the news today that they are saying if you want kids you should freeze eggs by 35 and should give birth by 38! Yikes! We need to get a move on! That's all we want to hear searching for that bfp! How many months have you been trying? Probably a good thing you saw the Dr as now they will know your intentions and so (hopefully it won't come to this) when you have been trying for 6 months you can start treatment.

I'm expecting to have trouble getting dp in the mood tonight! He was on good form yesterday but has had a face on him since he came in and I think it's because he knows he needs to perform! If they knew the pressure we have on us and all they need to do is give us a sample 3-4 times per month.

Ive had hcg bloods taken after that bit of spotting but the lab seem to have lost them but since it's nearly two weeks ago now and nothing since my mw said its nothing and no need to worry! But that's it I'm just here attempting and failing to get into my normal clothes!

Ooh never! How far along are you now? Sounds like once you get your bfp the time starts flying! Not fitting into clothes? Exciting My sil was really big really quick with no 2 but hardly showed with no 1 until about 6 months. Have they redone the bloods after losing them? I agree about your body just giving you a break lod for a holiday with no af! Mine brought af forward for me earlier this year.

Yep, cycle seems to be working to clockwork now! Thank goodness! Dp has been on form too! Phew, finally! And have been using my mooncup to keep the swimmers in place for a few hours after dtd.

Thay said, DH and plan to be on it like a car bonnet this month. I think he was disappointed that late AF turned out to be a dud which has helped no end.
I've washed my best matching bra & pants. I've uploaded the best of Barry white to my ipod and filled the fridge with oysters and asparagus.... (not really).
Plan is to POAOPK every day from end of AF until my next one (probably in about 3 months if the current trend for incredibly late periods is to continue) and nobody can stop me.

Unless I run out. Or DH tells me off again.

vap trust me once you get BFP then time goes onto a go slow! Its like tww but at least you have something positive and good to look forward to not the uncertainty of the tww!

I didn't show with my first for ages and even in my 30weeks if I wore a jumper I just looked fat not pregnant with my second close to 20weeks but this one I have about 3 trousers I can wear and a couple of pairs of shorts/skirts! I am going to have to go get some maternity clothes for summer soon, thankfully I have most things from the first two!

Bloods have been re done today but they want to see the increase so they have to be done again next week so looking at another week before we know anything. Then depending on that a scan but thats all done through GP and if scan needed the hospital. My midwife doesn't deal with that bit as she said she doesn't believe in hcg levels as they don't tell enough as its just everyone different. She also said for the amount of spotting I had it doesn't require a scan etc as there was so little for such a short amount of time! So 12 week scan is end of July so waiting for that really. I'm 7 weeks now!

When is AF due for you 3? (So I can count down to well you all start POAS because you love it so much)

I found the first 12 weeks the longest weeks of my life, counting down to that scan. TBH I didn't enjoy tge scans much, got myself a bit teary and fearful each time which is ridiculous but hormone fuelled too I think! Have you had any big cries yet Never?! I broke down over an episode of 'Surprise Surprise' at about 14 weeks ( I think). I was howling and laughing hysterically at myself for being so daft at the same time. DH was I avoided anything else remotely emotional from then on.

According to my crApp, AF is due 1 July but my 40 day cycle has upped the average to 33 days. So... who knows. I'm going to start POAOPK on Monday I think.

Is it gross to stick them all on a piece of paper to monitor the changes? Like a collage?

Sorry Never - and it sounds really positive about the spotting if the MW isn't concerned. I'm sure she sees it a lot so would know when to get worried?

never 7 weeks sounds like a long time ago to me. I wonder where charms is up to now? That feels like forever ago! I hope all goes well with your blood test, if the midwife isn't bothered then I'm sure she knows what she's talking about. Fingers and toes crossed for you all is well!

lod nope! I have kept a selection of mine in line so I can compare them. It may be a little weird but I don't care. Ha! In fact, look at my last picture upload of all recent opks!

Massive ache and pain on my right side at the minute. Hopefully that is my insides trying to push an egg out. Hope it doesn't last too long as it is quite painful! Been having twinges on right hand side for a day or 2 so clearly it's taking its turn after the left hand side the month before.

This mis use of the mooncup is making me more relaxed as I'm always bothered it doesn't go far enough in or falls out really quick and so has put my mind at rest at least. So even if it isn't helping it is chilling me out so thumbs up!

I'm drinking this weekend, I've made the decision after last month. Will just not over indulge like normal. If this isn't the month then I need to know I haven't put life on hold again for no reason.

AF due 5th July for me

I'm on a hen weekend all weekend then. I haven't booked any activities (spa and treetops adventure) as I expected (in feb when it was all booked) that I would be well and truly pregnant by then! I can book in and pay a bit more if af arrives as planned. Yet again life on hold! Argh! So annoying! At least if af does appear I'll be able to have a big blow out and drink loads!

Not wishing to get your hopes up Vap but with LLOD I had the worst ovving pains ever (might have even been implantation, who knows) so I take that as a really good sign.

FX you can use a FRER before the hen and get your BFP. Only then you just have to spend the whole weekend pretending you're 'on antibiotics for an infected tooth' or pretending there's G in your T.

Whenever any of my friends tell me they're on ABs now they get the 'yeah right' raised brow

lod I'd be all over the antibiotics for a tooth problem if I got my bfp although don't think i'd care what people thought if I had a reason for not drinking instead of the recent not drinking due to the "what if" and "maybe"'s!

Just managed to dtd again! Dp is right back on form! Good for him! Now I known it was the lack of job for sept that was holding him back and he was probably hoping nothing was going to happen before he was secure for the future! I'm so pleased! Plus it has been fun this last week too which it really hasn't the few months before! Mooncup being mis used again this evening still haven't told dp and will put a pillow under my bum when I go to bed tonight (currently lying with legs in the air hoping this will help). I wonder if having sperm trapped up there is like dtd a few times? Every time you tilt in the right direction surely gravity will send it in the right way? Well that's what I'm hoping anyway! Trap them in and don't let them out! Haha!

lod if af doesn't appear before the hen do on that Friday and the ic's don't show anything I'll be buying myself a frer! I'll be away from home all of that week and so it may be the case of keeping some fmu in a bottle again! Haha! Will have to travel from Cardiff to Harrogate on the day I'll hopefully find out either way! Let's hope it's good news or it will be a very long day!

P.s. Ovulation pains have now stopped! I have had a couple of drinks tonight (thinking they may be my last couple) so it could be an anaesthetic effect from that or it could just mean that ovulation is over and we have dtd at exactly the right time.... Well here is hoping!!

lod when your friends tell you they are on antibiotics what % of them turn out to be pregnant? Sorry to be nosey just interested in the use of the excuse and if it's 100% I'll have to think of another!

Oh 100% of the antibiotic takers have been up the duff in the last 5 years. It's normally the way they say it though - the most convincing went: 'I've got an impacted molar.. LOOK' And shoved her open mouth against my eye. It was v believable.

My friend had their DD through IVF and the fertily consultant informed her that the sperm that comes out is the dead stuff and that apparently the lying upside down doesn't help. But that's just one persons view im no expert or looked into it! So don't worry about spending the next week upside down
