Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

Morning ladies. I'm sorry to say that my AF has arrived too it is almost a relief as I got some spotting last night and the most awful migraine, all the way up the back of my neck and across my head into my eyes, it lasted all night but I was too scared to take any pills. There were tears with DH last night, I know that climbing under the duvet feeling so well Babyfettle, I just didn't want to be conscious anymore. Today is a new beginning however and there is lots to look forward to plus I can still get a BFP in December albeit at the end (AF due on my birthday).

Impatience - sending you huge hugs, I really know how you feel and hope you are ok I also hope it's not AF but an impersonater! My software tried to tell me this morning that it could be an implantation bleed. Pretty sure it's not though.

Babyfettle - sending you big hugs too, sorry you are having a rotten time at the mo.

Ready - yes where are those festive emoticons?! as Floss said, don't stay away when we can help you, it's not going to bring the thread down, there is no point pretending that we all feel great all the time because we just don't. Big hugs.

Floss - glad DS is better. Your birthday sounds like it's going to be fun

Greedy - hope you are having a lovely weekend away, not too much beer, I have a strong feeling about you this cycle! [smile-

Lovelybird - sounding exciting, fingers crossed!

MadameButterfly - have a lovely time!

CityAngel - hope the party goes well. I agree, long live the 2WW thread

here you are ready !!

FestivelyFrostyFloss · 02/12/2006 11:36

Sorry MMJ, I x posted. I am so sorry. Thought both you and impatience were going to have good news this month.

MrsPolly · 02/12/2006 11:37

All of the organised ladies here with Christmas trees arriving this weekend, make me feel domestically-inadequate - it has only just dawned on me this morning that it's december...(must try harder)
I don't have chance to post v much due to work, but i do try to keep up.

MrsMcJr, how are you? i am due to test same-ish time as you (sun/mon) but after 2 days of af pains i'm feeling down and think she's on her way. all the very best of luck to you though this weekend x

Impatience, hope its not af, my fingers are crossed.

babyfettle - i am also having a crawl-under-duvet-day (it is actually where i still am no wonder i haven't got any christmas decorations) hope you feel better soon chick x

Can i have a quick rant?? I am just soooooo angry and sad with work and my lack of work life balance and huge work stress (was in the office until 10 or 11pm mon to wed this week and until 3am on thurs then 9pm last night) that i am sure this is stopping me from getting pregnant (ttc exactly one year now). I am now typing this crying as i feel so useless. don't want to be doing this anymore but not sure what else to do - the stress of looking for a new job and resigning wouldn't be any better.

God, sorry for going on. just don't know what to do.

hugs to all those testing this weekend
xxx

MrsPolly · 02/12/2006 11:39

Sorry - took me so long to type that i missed the last four messages. very embarrassed now. Sorry MrsMJ
x

MrsMcJnr · 02/12/2006 12:03

Sounds yummy Floss

Oh MrsPolly I know how you feel, I have had jobs like that in the past and though I am very strict with myself now and probably overdo the work life balance the other way now , it came as a result of me being very ill for 3 months and off work, I realised that you have to take care of yourself and work is not the right place to re-charge your batteries. That said, my job for the last year has been very stressful and I do have to wonder if that has prevented me from getting pregnant over the last 6 months. I am moving job in a week though, so fingers crossed I'll fall soon if that was the reason.

Really hoping that you get a great result this weekend but if you don't please try and work less, I know that is easy to say and that in some professions, there is no way (I'm a lawyer and know that it is really hard). If there is no way you can cut back in your current role, it might be worth looking at a lifestyle change. A recruitment consultant would do all the leg work for you so a move might not be as stressful as you think. Interestingly, Zita West has a large section in her book about work life balance and stress. Worth reading! Chin up, it's the weekend! take it easy and do exactly what you want to!

I'm off to Tesco to get more decorations and nice food DH's dinner, we've been married 6 months today and I never thought I could but I love him a thousand times more than I did then, stapled wound and all!

I'll be back later .. with an update from Santa's grotto!!

MrsPolly · 02/12/2006 12:38

MrsMcJr thank you for kind, positive words (i'm also a lawyer - so I know you will know exactly what its like). I have been thinking of a career change for a while now.

Anyway I have dragged myself out from under the duvet and am off to buy christmas decorations.

lovely saturdays to you all
xx

sunshinedays · 02/12/2006 12:40

Just popped in to say hi - I know a lot of you had high hopes for the weekend, and sorry to read about the afs.
Zita West also reminds us the af time can be seen as a time of reflection and regeneration, it is VERY ok to feel down, to cry and to give ourselves TLC. None of us is up & positive all the time.

I know I am like a broken record, but try to remind yourselves it will happen, it is just a matter of time.
with love
Sx

sunshinedays · 02/12/2006 12:49

...and some of us is better at English than others too. Whoops.

BabymadwithBump · 02/12/2006 13:04

MrsMcJur so sorry AF came! I hope you'll be joining me very soon! Very good luck this cycle thinking of you always!

Ready · 02/12/2006 13:45

BIG THANKS to all the ladies that said I shouldn't have stayed away, I should have moped and whined on here and got support. I will remind you all of that next cycle when I'm on the edge I feel a bit daft for staying away, but just didn't want to annoy you all

Oh MrsMcJnr I am soooooo sorry about AF I had such high hopes for you this cycle!! Keep your chin up petal (((hugs))) 6 months of marriage, fantastic we were 2 years in June... loved every minute of it [soppy emoticon] I have placed a reminder on the site stuff board and Justinemumsnet said she'd forgotten, but will sort it out YAY

MrsPolly you just rant away honey big hug, try not to let work spoil your weekend now!! I agree with everything MrsMc said, you can't let a job make you ill!!

Thank you VERY much Floss for the recipe! I am going to be making them next week!! Tiffin is such a great word too!

I want a Festive name, but I can't think of anything that works with Ready

Ready · 02/12/2006 13:47

Apologies for the run on sentence there... no mention of Christmas icons... I am pants at times expecting people to understand what I am talking about. Aren't you all telepathic??

FestivelyFrostyFloss · 02/12/2006 14:00

RudolphsReady??

Ready · 02/12/2006 15:14

Ha ha ha. Sorry but I am cracking up laughing here. My brain has been fried. I was sitting here thinking why is Flossam asking me about Rudolph's? Tee hee. then I remembered I had said I was looking for a festive name! What am I going to do with myself???

Ta Floss. I like that a lot

RudolphsREADY · 02/12/2006 15:18

It won't let you have a name with anything but letters or numbers... I want the apostrophe in Rudolph's... but can't have it [sulk] but I like it anyway... thank you very much FestivelyFrostyFloss [rudolph icon]

lovelybird · 02/12/2006 16:14

Mrs McJnr - sorry to hear AF has arrived, sorry to those others whose AF has also arrived.
Still no AF for me though, I was due yesterday have been at work until 3, just got in nipped to the loo and did test - BFN.
Still waiting for AF now, will keep you posted

lovelybird · 02/12/2006 17:10

Have just looked in the bin at the pG test and there is a faint line that wasn't there before. it's not as strong as the line to show the test has worked but it's definately a line in the other window!
Didn't wait the required 5 mins to see if the test worked, after a couple of mins chucked it in the bin. It's been 1 1/2 hrs now since doing the test and there's a line in the pregnant window. Not sure if it's a false +ve or what. Sending DH to the supermarket to get an expensive make instead of the asda one i've got, so I can use it in the morning.
Trying not to get my hopes up in case it's wrong but it's hard not to.

FestivelyFrostyFloss · 02/12/2006 17:11

Oh dear. I feel we have more in common that just our menstrual cycles!

RudolphsREADY · 02/12/2006 17:18

FestivelyFrostyFloss - so what are you saying? That you are mental and are partial to senior moments? (I call them "something else" moments, but I daren't say it in case I offend anyone!) If that is the case then yes, it's not just the menstrual cycle similarity [rudolph icon]

Lovelybird - I have never done a pg test before so this is not experience talking, but I have read that the test should be discarded and not looked at more than 10 (?) minutes later as a line can appear but doesn't mean anything... I hope that you are pg of course, and getting a digital test will always be more easy to decipher!

snowydays · 02/12/2006 17:29

Lovelybird - what a nightmare! Think you're right to do another test... I'd be tempted to do one tonight AND if there is no line, another one tomorrow morning (first pee of the day) when hormones are more concentrated. Go on, throw caution to the wind.

I know, I know feels like a waste of tests but.....

REALLY hope it's good news - this thread could do with some BFPs! Good luck!

endlesslove · 02/12/2006 17:43

Hi ladies. Sorry Mrs for af . Your time will come soon just like the rest of us. Perhaps you may have a very special birthday surprise. Keep your chin up babe.

Everyone else, I hope you are all doing ok. Hope there is some BFPs soon. Have we had any for December yet? I know its only been 2 days. At least this month, if it doesn't happen we can keep focused on Christmas to take our minds of ttc.

I am on CD30. Just waiting in the dreaded 2ww. Feel totally down and grumpy, like AF is on her way. Just want to know now. Will be testing on Saturday next week so roll on this week! When I got that chemical pregnancy last month, my boobs inflated quite a bit, I don't have that this month. I also had a massive arguement with DH last night and I tend to turn to cleaning when annoyed. I was hoovering quite violently, not really thinking "could I be doing any harm if I am pregnant" and now today I am soooo worried. Can you do harm at such an early stage? Things are fine with DH now after a tearful chat and we are off to piccies tonight.

Take care everyone and keep focused.

Babydust to all.
xxx

Impatience · 02/12/2006 18:25

Babyfettle, when you bled on and off for the two weeks before you got your bfp, did you have af cramps? How about clots, or did you just have thin blood? I'm having cramps and clots (sorry if too gross) but after starting out strongly t his morning it's faded out somewhat now.

I never really believe af means I'm not pg: it's a few days later that my misery starts to kick in. There's always still a tiny bit of hope refusing to die...

Impatience · 02/12/2006 18:30

Big hugs to you too MrsMc. Doesn't look like we'll be doing our exciting synchronised test tomorrow Your migraine sounds absolutely horrible. I am very very grateful I don't get them.

I don't really think this is an af impersonator, but I just refuse to stop hoping! I think we'll be away when I ov in Dec so it'll be another 6 weeks for me, and that's too long. However, if that's the way it works out I'm going to do a little experiment and make notes of all the little 'signs' I have so that in future months I can say with certaintly that they don't mean anything!

Impatience · 02/12/2006 18:39

Lovelybird, I'd definately do another test and try not to read too much into a faint line 1.5 hrs after testing: I've had these before, and it's the dye collecting, or an evaporation line. Look up www.peeonastick.com (hilarious and very informative site). She also says that digital sticks should never be dismantled because they work in a different way to the normal DIY sticks so the second line doesn't mean the same thing. Also, digital sticks need higher hormone concentration to detect pg, so are no use in the v early days!

Good luck - let us know!

honeyapple · 02/12/2006 18:58

Endlesslove- I too start cleaning when I'm grumpy! DP always gets out my way if I get the polish out- then he knows I'm REALLY cheesed off!! I cant imagine what you were doing with your hoover...
Anyway, I wouldnt worry about doing harm so early on. I was in a car crash when just PG with DS... a very bad one, where I was thrown from the car. Needless to say DS was fine.
