Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

That's exciting MadameB! How many days PO are you? Any other signs?

MadameButterfly · 30/11/2006 13:51

No idea when I ovulate, just know that AF is due around 5th.

I had my Implanon out in June and have been posting updates here

cityangel · 30/11/2006 13:51

MadameB go for it good luck! Anyone else testing with MadameB?

Hi Imatience. Within this link is another link to the list of flights.

flights

Impatience · 30/11/2006 14:02

Cityangel, thanks for the flight link. Female, I can understand why you'd be pleased not to be v early pg. Amazing the silver linings one can find...

MadameB, if you are pg enough to be making a metallic taste, I'd think you'd be pg enough to get a bfp..? However, if it's neg it is still a little early to test, so either way you won't shatter your hopes! you might as well do one!

MadameButterfly · 30/11/2006 14:16

It was negative, but will try again next week

Hi ? just popping my head in to say hello to everyone. Sorry haven?t posted for a while ? life stuff seems to have gotten in the way, but not in a good way! Work is pretty hectic and is getting me down a little, and we?re having all sorts of problems with our house. Generally not feeling like a happy bunny!! TTC just feels like another thing that?s not working out for us and it?s all getting a bit much. Sorry to moan ? especially as I haven?t been on here for ages. Just needed a little TLC from my MNetters! I?ll snap out of it soon and be back to my normal self ? never fear!

How are you all doing? OK ? haven?t posted for ages, so here goes?!

Sorry to hear about the BFN MadameB ? but it?s probably just too early, test again next week if AF hasn?t arrived.

Impatience ? how are you doing? Apart from the jittery thumb any other symptoms?!

Cityangel ? count me in on the Blackpool trip! How are you getting on with the CBFM? Day 9 for me and it asked for my 1st test of the month this morning, so fingers crossed!

MrsMcJ ? it?s lovely to see you being open about what you went through ? don?t ever feel like you can?t post stuff like that on here. The Conception board is THE friendliest board on the whole site! Hopefully the temp dip is just a blip ? don?t lose heart just yet my friend. How?s DH doing ? is he feeling any better?

Greedy ? ok hands up, how many pg tests have you done since I?ve been away?!?! I?ve been keeping my beady eye on you, you know!!

Geek, Chooster, Honeyapple?and everyone else, hope you?re all doing OK and are thinking positive BFP things!

KitKat30 · 30/11/2006 14:52

No thinking BFP things for you Chooster! You are a big BFP!!!

cityangel · 30/11/2006 15:00

KitKat big hug I hope it cheers you up. Sorry about your house Don't let the stress get to you.
The CBFM wants daily tests at the moment and that means 20 sticks this month I think aargh!
Still its very easy to use and will help hopefully. I am assuming it reads the line?
I hate the waiting at the moment. 10 days until OV!

Impatience · 30/11/2006 15:02

MadameB, remember it's still early for you, so there's hope yet. If you keep sucking coins, stop it!

KitKat, I'm trying to ignore the feelings that are like pre-af. I've been a bit increasingly crampy today, and just saw a tiny weeny bit of brown, so right now I suspect that af is on its way. Temp high again today, but I wouldn't expect it to come down till Sunday at the earliest. Nothing else to report. Sorry you've been having a tough time. Can you let all the other crap stuff take your mind off ttc? No, me neither! I hope it improves.

Tili · 30/11/2006 16:20

hi just a quick message for MrsMcJnr.

Had my scan today everything seems fine and Im having a boy
Really pleased will be nice to have one of each.

By the way I think that it is a very brave decision to have a termination and totally believe that you made the right choice for your circumstances. You will fall pg again hunny when it is your time and hopefully it will be soon as you thoroughly deserve a baby.Best of luck to you sweetheart.xxx

greedyguzzler · 30/11/2006 16:21

twix - you sound down in the dumps too. EVERYONE CHEER UP!!!!!! IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have resisted the urge to do any pg tests by the way, but i am only 8 or 6 dpo depending on which software i believe! i find i am constantly checking on the calender to work stuff out, like when i can test, when implantation could be happening, when my next fertile window will be etc. I HATE BEING SO COMPLETELY CONSUMED BY TTC!!!!! IT DOES MY HEAD IN!!!!!

1n2s · 30/11/2006 16:26

Hi all
Cityangel - hellooo cycle buddyy!! Its so nice to know there's someone else out there on exactly the same days as me. Whats your plan this month? I'm on CD 7 today and the BD'ing will start tomorrow (according to my DH!!) and he is determined to go for it every day for the next week..... bless I know he'll be worn out by next tuesday Ovulation tends to vary for me between CD 10-13 depending on the OTK but now we're just randomly going for it as I was getting a bit obsessed with the OTK until told by GP they're often wrong! Aaaaaaahh!! I do get bad ovulation pain so I'm using that as a bit of a clue. Enjoy shopping at Blue Water it's great That would be my DH's idea of hell (unless of course it involved shopping for any electrical gadgets)- what a great DH you have - shop till you drop I say

MrsMcJr - You poor thing!! You sound to have so much on your plate at the moment and you really shouldn't beat yourself up about any decisions you made in the past. One thing which is real a positive is that you know you can actually get pregnant which has to be a really good thing right now. I often torture myself with the fact that I went to a psychic woman back in my early 20's, who said I would try to have children in my mid 30's and would struggle . At the time I thought she was insane but now I'm here at 34yrs old TTC - and she's there in the back of my mind in her head scarf and hooped ear-ring haunting me!!!

Now ladies.... my DH has gone out and bought himself a home sperm testing kit and has been merrily reading away at the instructions. How accurate are these things? He keeps informing me of new facts and last night's was that the woman should keep her legs in the air for 30mins, due to the fact that sperm turns from goo into a watery substance after 20mins and this is when it can swim the fastest. Jeeesus - I struggle to keep my legs up for 20mins!!

Impatience · 30/11/2006 16:32

Tell me, those of you that have contact with sperm outside of pots! Does it really start out gooey? I've read this too, but whenever I've made our 'collection' it's liquid, even when I know it's really fresh. Just want to check there's nothing wrong with our supplier

FYI, I'm self-inseminating in case this just doesn't make any sense to anyone!

greedyguzzler · 30/11/2006 16:45

i wouldn't say gooey! but slightly lumpy, well, not lumpy really that doesnt sound right. i am trying to think of words to describe it. i would say its viscosity is somewhere between water and golden syrup. doesnt help much does it? i woulnt say it is the same consistency throughout, some bits are thicker (which is why i said lumpy!) anyway! what do i know hey?........i just know it makes the sheets crispy!
you are all going to tell me my dh had weird sperm now aren't you?
good qu. though perve!

can i ask one too?........

greedyguzzler · 30/11/2006 16:47

bugger bugger bugger! i have completely forgotten my question! got sidetracked for 2 minutes and i have forgotten it! hey....must be pg! memory loss is a sure sign.
hang on.....i cant be....my wee doesn't smell of sugar puffs yet!

Impatience · 30/11/2006 16:49

that's not pregnancy, that's motherhood!

1n2s · 30/11/2006 16:52

Hi Impatience - yes that made sence as I had guessed by what you said. Ahh maybe that proves my DH's point then. I have never seen sperm in a container as yet (but will be doing next week)so is't hard to say. But usually it starts out fairly gloopy (this is apparently so that it sticks to the lining of cervix) and then it slowly gets a bit more watery (which must be when the little wrigglers start swimming). Maybe by the time you receive it it is still fresh but has turned from gloop to a watery substance, I wouldn't worry though as the little swimmers will be still alive in there
p.s - I will let you know more next week....

Impatience · 30/11/2006 16:52

thanks for the description. I feel a bit better, I was imagining it should be thick gloop. Ours is a bit thicker than watery, like sugarsyrup. Which I guess would be between water and golden syrup.

Er, am I grim: This is making me hungry?

1n2s · 30/11/2006 16:55

ha ha ha Greedy!!! I'm laughing my head off at you're description of SPERM!! I had the same problems and thought....hmm what an earth does it resemble apart from wallpaper paste or yorkshire pudding mix uuuugh!! Hope we're making sence Impatience

My wee often smells off sugar puffs - what does that mean???? Am I pregnant or dehydrated??? Defo not preggers

Impatience · 30/11/2006 16:56

1n2s: crossed with you. Now I'm worrying again about the gloop! I'd be very interested to hear your description of gloop to wateryness in a pot. I guess now I've never seen it less than 5mins old, as we make our thanks and goodbye chat etc.

Anyone else who wants a science experiment to liven up the dark evenings, please feel free to let me know how your sperm liquifies!

1n2s · 30/11/2006 17:01

Yes I was just wondering that.... how do you make a quick exit so that you can make full use of the kind donation ASAP? Bet you just want to grab it a run. Just a thought.... but if its still warm in the container by the time you get it.... it's fresh!

Now I'm hungry - maybe yourkshire puddings for tea(the real ones that is!!)

Impatience · 30/11/2006 17:07

Some days it's very businesslike, but we often get stuck chatting and it's ages before I can do the deed! But apparantly it's ok for 2 hours if you don't overheat it. I'd be interested to hear what timelimits/conditions etc the clinic tell you for your sample, 1n2s. Also, what kind of pot do they give you? Blimey, I've got so many questions! Of course I wonder whether there's anything in the way we're doing this that is interfering with my conception, so any info is helpful.

sunshinedays · 30/11/2006 17:16

Guys - I understand the info may help Impatience - but I have to say it made me p* my pants (which was, by the way, watery and smelling of rice crispies)

1n2s · 30/11/2006 17:16

This is a home testing kit which is why I have some concerns he's doing it. I'm reading the instructions as I speak and there needs to be two seperate tests. It describes freshly ejaculated as gel-like in consistency and over 1 hour or longer, it turns to thin liquefied consistency. Only the liquefied semen should be used to test with. So therefore it is fine than you are collecting and imseminating within 2 hours. Maybe my DH expects me to have my legs in the air for an hour??!!
