Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

endless - check out the stats thread! its a brief summary of us all! add yourself to it so i know who you are!
hey perve - hows your temp looking this morning? when are you testing? i could never hold out as long as you have! i normally test every day after 7dpo!
morning ready! ( see i NEVER forget you!!!!)
hello everyone else! there are lots of you coming up to testing arent there? how exciting!

Kittiwake · 29/11/2006 10:25

Hello Greedy and anyone else around this morning.

Yesterday I got carried away as was feeling so strange and symptom spotting like mad but today I feel pretty normal and a bit more realistic it's still early days for me TTC maybe the weird pains I have had all week are to do with OV I am still a beginner at figuring this all out.

Impatience · 29/11/2006 10:57

Morning Greedy, and all you other lovely ladies. Or should that be 'morning Greedy and all the lovely ladies' tee hee

My temp is still unclear! It was 36.8 again this morning, but we'd been kept awake from 2 till 5.30 by a small but very loud dragon that seemed to have stashed our angelic ds somewhere and had taken up residence in the cot... So when the dragon started up again at 7 I hadn't exactly had much sleep... Without that random 37.0 spike my temps look pretty typical, and I can explain that 37.0 by the extreme exercise I'd done the day before (still aching!). However, when I'm feeling positive I believe the 37.0 is real and the 36.8's are because of disturbed sleep!

I've done enough early tests to know that if it comes up neg I don't believe it so there's no point! Unless of course it pos, but that's never happened yet...

MrsMc, I've had faint crampiness this morning too. Obviously feeling miserably about it despite trying hard to quote back what I said to you last night about early pg cramps!

God, I'm so annoying...

20smum · 29/11/2006 12:23

good morning everybody, hope you are all in happy cheery moods

Today is cd 24 for me ahhhhhhhhhh!!! Getting scary now. Still feel very unpregnant i'm afraid!!! HOw are you feeling Mrsmc? - we are on the same day aren't we?

greedyguzzler · 29/11/2006 13:17

hey perve! - you are mean to me! is it because i call you perve? i cant even remember why i call you that, but i am sure you ARE a perve so its sticking im afraid! how many dpo are you now?
i need someone to stop me........i have got 5 pg tests upstairs saying 'wee on me, wee on me' and i am SO tempted! (the talking pg tests are obviously more expensive than the regular ones!) but i am not even a week past ovulation! HELP ME!

greedyguzzler · 29/11/2006 13:20

perve - my ds was a git last night too! bless him! not a git really, just wide awake at 2.30am until about 3.30am saying 'mummy is it mornin' time yet' and 'muuuuuuummmmmmy come in my 'bedoom' quickly please!' (he is very polite, even at 3am!) do disturbed nights make your temps higher or lower then?

GeekInPigTails · 29/11/2006 13:36

greedy, have you tried putting some loud music on to drown them out? You're going to want all those tests next week, so you can't go wasting them now - step AWAY from the loo!

Impatience · 29/11/2006 13:39

yes, Geek, grab that Greedy, I'll get her other arm. DO NOT PEE ON THOSE STICKS! A week past ov is far too early - it's just a waste of money, energy, and piddle!

GeekInPigTails · 29/11/2006 13:43

Not sure about the disturbed temps Impatience and Greedy - the software I use adjusts the temp up if you take it earlier than usual, but I don't know whether the same applies if you take it at the same time but got a lot less sleep than normal.

I do find the temp-taking thing a bit annoying, since I go to bed a different time every day and get up a different time every day (flexible hours at work), especially at the weekends - some days it's just impossible to get a usable temp. And I work in an office! I bet anyone working night shifts every so often finds it completely useless!

Impatience · 29/11/2006 13:45

Greedy, I'm mean to you in a fond way. I'll stop now.

I don't know what the disturbed nights do to temps, but sleeping 11-2, then just getting a quick 90mins pass-out is NOT a night's sleep! (Am I putting off any 1st baby ttc'ers..?) I think I have to accept that my temps haven't done anything particularly exciting afterall, and that random spike didn't mean I was pg. Still had that strange bit of blood though... Oh God, I hate these last few days! I'm 11dpo now. AF due on Monday... I'm hoping I'm one of those that don't have any early signs, because I'm not having any!

Sorry you had a bad night too. I wish our ds was old enough to talk to (how old is yours?) because he is resisting understanding 'we are very tired and need to go back to sleep now'. I hate his screams, he sounds so pitiful, but there's only so long one can lean over the cot. Any tips? (apart from the loud music!)

greedyguzzler · 29/11/2006 14:35

dont stop being mean!!!! i like it! my dh is a bit tooooooooooooooooooooo nice to me sometimes and i need someone to treat me mean!!!!

my ds is 3.4 and dd is 1.11! shouldnt really complain cos i havent heard a peep out of either of them during the night for weeks, but last night was the exception ( i hope!....if it happens again tonight i wont be so nice to him!)

i have managed to fill my time (whilst ds is at preschool and dd is asleep) and i now have to go and collect ds, so the urge to wee on a stick will have to wait! this is my weak time when i am on my own thinking about stuff!!!! i resisted! i think i might get my dh to hide them from me!

Impatience · 29/11/2006 14:42

Congratulations on not peeing on those sticks, you horrible old hag (that was me making up to too-nice dh, you understand?!)

Are your two in the same room? Do they wake eachother up? Did dd sleep through ds's antics lastnight?

Our ds is such a bad sleeper - he just wants to get up and play - and I wonder how things will work when (hopefully ) there will be a littl'un in with him.

Impatience · 29/11/2006 14:53

MrsMc, did you get the spotting you were fearing today? How're your cramps? I've had cramps today too. Still trying to stay positive/ignore it all! x

MrsMcJnr · 29/11/2006 16:17

Hello, sorry not got on computer before now .

Impatience - the last 2 days have been hell , last night I flipped and had a shouting fit at my poor, helpless DH but he gave back as good as he got! then I was rude to our neighbour and then cried and said sorry to everyone . Totally unlike me but it may just be that there is just too much happening at the mo. The viewers did not like our house, didn't give a damn really . The estate agent was more upset then we were.

My boobs are killing me, they even woke me up, I am wearing a padded bra today so I have armour around them in case someone bumps into me in the street. Temp is still high but the cramps come and go. I've been in tears 3 times today just because I am so scared that AF is on her way. I think it'll hit me hard if she turns up this cycle. No spotting yet though.

So yes, a long winded way of saying, I feel mentally and physically the same as you so can truly empathise! 20sMum - I know you are feeling the same to.

Hello Endless, missed you, it's nice to have you back with us.

Hello Greedy - PMSL at you with the tests!

Hello Geek and Kittiwake.

Impatience · 29/11/2006 16:29

Oh MrsMc, poor you. what a horrible couple of days. I'm afraid I have to run off now, otherwise would stay on and have a chat. Remember though about the eearly pg signs including sore breasts and cramps. It aint over till the fat crazy bleeds. I shall check up on you later. Take care x

MrsMcJnr · 29/11/2006 16:35

Thanks Impatience. I'm ok really, just HATE this stage!

OP posts:
Chooster · 29/11/2006 16:54

Just wanted to pop in say keep your chin up MrsMc!!!! So sorry you been having a lousy couple of days, but like Impatience says, it ain't over yet - Am sure your DH understands. Its good to hear he gave as good as he got - he's obviously feeling better then!

From what I've seen I think your house is beautiful and in one way its fab you get to stay in it a bit longer (I know its not good for the wallet though )

xx

GeekInPigTails · 29/11/2006 18:08

MMJ, I hope this cheers you up - I DON'T have cramps, or sore boobs, or spotting, I'm not feeling particularly teary, and I'm jealous of you! Ridiculous isn't it! But those could so easily be pg symptoms, so at least you have something to be hopeful about...

I was just thinking earlier that my tummy felt/looked a bit flatter than normal, and that was a really depressing thought! Until recently I would have been quite proud of myself, but now it's just another thing that reminds me about TTC - it's so easy to obsess about all this!

greedyguzzler · 29/11/2006 19:35

oh mrs(see....i even left off the McSpink to cheer you up!) you sound so down, you are normally so chirpy, i hate to think of people being sad. just try and imagine sawyer kissing you all over that should make you smile. if not you must be seriously depressed!

perve - how old is your ds? i have to say when my ds was younger i did the controlled crying thing (nasty, mean mother that i am). he was never too bad though, but it always worked if i had to do it. i never had to do any of that with dd cos she has been an angel with her sleep (i just KNOW i am in for a bad night tonight now!tempting fate and all that!) my 2 dont share a room but their rooms are pretty close and they have NEVER (so far!) woken each other up, even with the loudest crying in the world (dd) and the loudest vomiting in the world(ds!) so if your ds and no.2 have to share i am sure it will be fine!

greedyguzzler · 29/11/2006 19:36

OH MY GOD! fate works quickly! my dd has just started crying and i put her to bed 20mins ago!

Bodkin · 29/11/2006 20:23

Just popping in to say hi to you all and good luck to those testing in the next few days.

I only got time to read the last few posts - MrsMc, sorry to hear you're feeling blue - it is the most stressful time of the cycle the last few days so don't panic, it's not you, just the situation. Last cycle before I got my BFP, in the 2ww I tried to think of positive things about not getting pg (had a big party coming up, loads of work on, was really enjoying life generally) and it really helped manage my expectations - I practically talked myself out of having a baby altogether! There are quite a few positives for you that I can see (can booze and eat whaterver you like over Christmas, you wouldn't be having an August baby - youngest in year at school, you can devote your time to making sure DH gets well etc.etc.) and then if you do get pg, well all those can just fly out the window! Don't know if that helps, but it worked for me.

Greedy, how are you doing? I am also a mean and heartless mother who did controlled crying with DD and it works a bloody treat.

Anyway, I'll get off me high horse now... God that was a long post for someone who was just popping in.

Bodkin · 29/11/2006 20:32

Sorry, reading back that "works a bloody treat" makes me sound a) Australian and b) evil

What I meant was that I have had great success with that technique and as a result DD sleeps soundly for 12 hours a night

MrsMcJnr · 29/11/2006 20:54

Thank you all for rallying for me I'm feeling a lot better now (lost a pound at my slimming class )

Geek - I wish my tummy was looking flatter know what you mean though, take care of yourself.

Greedy - you imagining has just reminded me that I need to shave my legs!

Bodkin - hello! you are right, December is a fab month pregnant or not, thank you.

Chooster, , hello! The viewers not liking the house really did make me happy!

Can I confide? please don't judge me (really nervous about saying this on here actually) but I was pregnant once, 9 years ago when I was in my final year of Uni. I found out on St Andrew's night, 30th November, and I am just petrified that AF will turn up tomorrow as retribution for my choices back then as I decided I could not cope with a baby at the time and chose to terminate. I do think about it now a lot more than I used to.

OP posts:
pinkranger · 29/11/2006 21:09

mrs Mc - really but dont blame yourself at all. I h ad a termination when i was 16 and when i lost my baby this year i felt that i was being punished ( still do in a way) but please try and keep your chin up -

Sending you cyber hugs ((((((((((( xx)))))))))))))))))

when is Af due ??

MrsMcJnr · 29/11/2006 21:19

Pinkranger, thank you so much for replying to me so quickly, I posted it and then panicked that no-one would want to talk to me anymore. Thank you for the hugs and sending you lots back, I know you have had a hard time and I am sorry. Tomorrow I am 10dpo, have only got past that once in the last few cycles but think something might have started to happened that cycle but then changed it's mind. To be on the safe side, not testing until Sunday if on AF. How about you?
