Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

hi, it is hard to keep up with the thread.

ready, no i am not temping. tried it but was not getting the required 4 hours unbroken sleep at the time also i found it just fed teh obsession and misery. i think the breaking point came when i shouted at dh for not coming home for work for bding (it was our only chance cos going camping that night.)

20smum · 28/11/2006 11:49

ready - bd'ing 3 out of 4 days sounds good enough to me - bearing in mind the zillions of warriors released with each attempt, i wouldn't let that depress you. I'm v depressed cause my boobs are still none existent and have never been so unsore ever hehehe

Impatience · 28/11/2006 11:53

Facts&Figures, I get the same thing with the LH sticks. I never get a positive test line these days, but get a test line (albeit it negative) only on the day before my ovulation pain. I don't know why I don't get a positive test on the day I ovulate! Perhaps my LH peak is so skinny that I miss it? I just don't know, but it's not just your pee that's weird!

Impatience · 28/11/2006 11:53

Sorry you're feeling blue Ready. x

Impatience · 28/11/2006 11:55

Er, I prematurely posted! Ready, I wanted to also say that BDing 3/4 days pre-ov is PERFECT so don't get down about missing the ov day. It#s the preov days that are more important, giving the sperm time to get up into the tubes to greet the egg. x

babyfettle · 28/11/2006 11:57

Thanks Ladies!

go away for a couple of minutes and this thread already goes fast!! I agree with MrsMcJ - it is hard to keep up at times, particularly when at work - I'm going to get caught soon, I know it!!

I've heard of increased wind in early pregnancy -way-hey this pg-lark gives us all the best symptoms!!

Impatience, I?ve had loads of CM all month (thought it might be grapefruit juice induced and this is the first month I?ve been looking for it, so I may always have lots but not noticed) and no obvious temp shift, so sounds similar to your case ? did you have an extra long cycle that time, or did AF come around the same time?

I do normally get a really obvious temp shift ? or at least I used to before I was pg with DD ? but I haven?t really been charting this year since mc, as DH has been away, so there didn?t seem much point - wish I had been now.

I?m pretty certain I?m not pg ? and I?m not sure I can face the negative response if I test ? I?ll see how this week pans out. Don?t think there is any spotting yet today, if there is it is only a very tiny amount.

Moving isn?t really the best time for any of this ? hope my new GP is sympathetic and is willing to refer me asap ? my last was all for it, but there was no point as we were about to move.

Anyway, must go ? off at lunchtime to go help DH unpack boxes ? hopefully won?t be off-line for long. Hope I come back to some good news from some of you!

Good luck and take care to all!

Ps [don?t go to the statue without me, while I?m off-line!!!]

x

Pesme, how do you work out where you are in your cycle? I have found temping works for me, but like you say, you need unbroken sleep.

KitKat30 · 28/11/2006 12:33

OMG this thread moves quickly!!Good idea about the newsflash thread MrsMcJ!

FactsAndFigures · 28/11/2006 12:36

Thanks Impatience - good to know that it's not just my pee that's weird

Ready · 28/11/2006 13:19

Pesme said this thread was full... only 588 messages on it... How's that possible?

Ready · 28/11/2006 13:20

Oh it's let me post, and I was only typing "just in case" it let me... and it has... Pesme, try again sweets!!

MadameButterfly · 28/11/2006 13:24

I know we are not meant to be symptom spotting, but I hve had a metallic taste in my mouth since yesterday. AF is not due until 4th/5th Dec.

What do you ladies suggest I do?

Ready · 28/11/2006 14:00

MadameButterfly... eat a mint to take away the metallic taste and forget about it as much as you can... wait and see what happens. OR. Do a test

pesme · 28/11/2006 14:01

sorry it is just i am at work and it is really slow.

ready - i don't really know just guess from cm and i have a v. regular cycle. maybe i should go back to temping. dd has occassionaly slept through recently!

sunshinedays · 28/11/2006 14:27

Hi All
To give you a little hope if things are not happening for you at the moment - I have just come back from seeing my consultant. I recently had a lap & dye operation to see why it wasn't happening. They have done a little bit to improve our chances but have suggested we should get on the IVF waiting list. In the meantime, because I have a short luteal phase he's going to try me on Clomid for a few months.

Like I said before if you are 35ish or over (I'm 37) I really suggest you see your GP and get a referral - the process takes a while and if you fall pg in the meantime then fantastic!
Finally remind you all to TRY to relax... though it is nothing to be proud of I think I have been ttc for the longest of all of you and have been through the mill on the monthly roller coaster - it can really get you down, very down.

It will happen ... it is just a matter of time.
Sx

Impatience · 28/11/2006 14:37

Babyfettle, I can't remember for sure, but I think my anovulatory cycle was about the same length as usual.

SunshineDays, I'm pleased you've come back from seeing your consultant feeling all positive. Here's hoping that the lap&dye (what is that by the way?) will have given you the little help you need xxx

I'm sure my temp adjustment question got lost in the weight. MrsMc, you know about these things: would my actual waking temp have been higher than the 36.8 it was after half an hour of trying to go back to sleep? You know I want to hear that it should have been up near my high temp of 37.0 of yesterday!

sunshinedays · 28/11/2006 14:46

Hi Impatience
Just in case the fab MrsMcJnr doesn't get back to you for a while - I've been temp charting for a while and my Fertilityfriend charting website says(& you're not going to like this) you should note the first temperature, however you should also note this was not taken at the normal time. Your temperature tomorrow will indicate whether you should ignore or include the temp from today. Don't panic - you can get a dip and then temp rise again.

A lap & dye is keyhole surgery where they look inside and push dye through your tubes. (it is under general anesthetic)

Impatience · 28/11/2006 14:58

Thanks sunshinedays - I shall just ignore today's temp.

I didn't realise lap&dye was under general - that's pretty major! Did you get to see any pics of your insides? I had a hysterosalpingogram (if I spelt that correctly I'm amazed!) and it was really interesting to see my uterus and tubes up there on the screen.

All the best to you.

sunshinedays · 28/11/2006 15:02

Yep - in full technicolour!

Impatience · 28/11/2006 15:02

wow

sunshinedays · 28/11/2006 15:04

It was pretty cool.
Was your HSG OK? (so much easier to spell)

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 15:08

ready - dont be daft!!!!! thats a lot more BD than i did around ov! we did all ours the 2 weeks before and then missed ov almost completely! dont get depressed about that, just wait and see what happens.....IF af arrives then you have my permission to get depressed!

sunshine days! - lap and dyes often seem to help with ttc too! 2 of my friends fell pg after having it done! it kind of clears the tubes and makes way doesnt it!?
