Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

Morning everyone - meant to tell you last night that Boots has £20 off the Fertell home fertility tests. It's normally £80 - but is currently down to £60 (in London anyway). Pretty good deal if you were thinking about getting it...

How is everyone this (very very rainy) morning?

Kittiwake · 28/11/2006 08:51

Morning all

Kitkat it's sunny here in wales! I think we had the rain last night an apparantly a Tornado although nowhere near here thank goodness.

Hi Pesme welcome to the thread.i'm in the 2ww too it's so hard not to obsess over every sign isn't it - sigh -. Gool luck to you for this month

Hello to you Female sorry about AF hope you get your BFP this time around.

CD18 today and feeling really odd but trying really hard not to read to much into it

Chooster · 28/11/2006 08:53

Hi all - All this talk of xmas decs has got me all santa excited!!! We got our decorations down from the attic last night

Just a quick post for those that can't get the TCOYF software, I used FertilityFriend.com, as you didn't need to download anything, it was just an internet site. It meant I could do it on my work PC - and it was free. I know from the spotters thread that the TCOYF software is far better but the cheapy one can also do the trick.

MrsMc - Did the people come round to see your house yesterday or is it today? I know its a really mixed thing for you - so I hope it goes well but at the same time hope you get to stay there!

xcharlotte · 28/11/2006 09:46

Morning all

Grr, woke to an argument with my dp - he got grumpy because I bought a Braun thermometer yesterday and he got woken up by its beeping away as I took my temp 3 times... just to make sure it was working properly.

I'm on CD24 and have just started using the TCOYF charting software. I also bought the book on Amazon yesterday so am looking forward to having a read.

Secretly hoping that I might be pregnant of course, but going and investing in all these products as if I'm not... sort of trying to double bluff myself into actually being pregnant. IYSWIM.

Anyway, morning all. I've been reading these boards a lot over the past two days and think the support from other women is incredible.

Female - I know what you mean about not being able to talk about it to other people; and how frustrating that can be. I've told a couple of people that I'm trying, but again don't want to jinx things by telling all and sundry, and of course don't want people asking how it's going either.

What on earth did women do before fantastic resources like this, where you could come and gain the wisdom of others going through similar experiences? We are so lucky!

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 09:47

thanks chooster chops i am going to try fertility friend...i am all for a freebie!

sorry about talking about lost! i forgot some people havent seen it yet, it used to be on ch4 too didnt it? hope we havent given too much away!

honeyapple - a sperm lifecycle is about 75 days, but they are being constantly produced, so there will always be lots in different stages of development. that means that having a hot bath will only affect the sperm that are at a certain stage of development and not ALL of them. so as long as your dh doesnt sit in the bath all day, every day you should be ok. this is how i remember it from university anyway!

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 09:48

oh female! i have just spotted you on here.....i am so sorry! (not to see you of course, but about af)

babyfettle · 28/11/2006 09:53

Hey all ? how you doing? I?m sneaking on at work quickly ? but I can?t catch up as you?ve all been so busy ? hope I?ve not missed any BFP?s in last couple of days?

Sorry to those with AF ? I do hope Christmas brings us all some baby luck!

I?ve decided to migrate to you all on the Dec thread, as we?re so near the end of Nov now!

Greedy how you doing? Think I read that you thought you?d ov?d on Sat, does that mean your temps are up and staying up? Lots of good luck to you. Mine are definitely back down again, but to add insult to confusion, I?ve been grumpy, have slight AF tummy pains, some very very very light spotting and my boobs ache. According to Boob Monitor (AKA DH!), they are enormous! So assume that the house move has induced AF ? bit confused as whether you get all the AF symptoms even if you haven?t had a temp rise and hence ov. Really assuming that without a temp shift, I couldn?t have ovulated, but is even that true? So confused, but hope either way, something happens soon ? want to get back on with next cycle as this one has been pants!

[for dec ladies, I?m on CD39 and although I?ve had irregular cycles in the past, not this long and in fact I?ve been regular CD30ish since my mc earlier this year until this cycle when my temps have shown no permanent shift upwards yet! And this is the first cycle we?ve been able to TTC as DH has been away for 5 months over summer]

Sorry, lots about me ? we?re actually moving into our new house this afternoon ? so hopefully home computer will be up and running over next few days (broadband connection permitting!!) and I?ll be able to catch up properly with you all.

Still not checked out Sawyer ? must do so ? but I?m not giving up Adam from Spooks just yet!!

Take care all

KitKat30 · 28/11/2006 09:59

Hi babyfettle - have you tested at all chick?!?

honeyapple · 28/11/2006 10:01

Thanks greedy- you sound like you talk a lot of sense about the old spermatazoa...
Having said that DP has agreed to have no more baths until after I OV! Of course, I will allow him the odd shower...
So, hopefully this experiment will result in a BFP on Christmas day .

Female, sorry to hear about AF. I was feeling very miserable when mine came yesterday. I felt like bursting into tears all day. But have made myself feel positive with the help of MN of course.

babyfettle · 28/11/2006 10:01

Never even really considered that I might be pg - as I never had a temp rise, I just assumed I haven't ovulated this cycle - do you think it is worth it?

honeyapple · 28/11/2006 10:03

Babyfettle- definitely worth a test. Temps could be wrong couldnt they?
Good luck

KitKat30 · 28/11/2006 10:08

babyfettle - if you've had 30 day cycles for the last few months, then technically you're 9 days late...? I dont know, dont want to get your hopes up unecessarily... what's the spotting like? Has it stopped?

20smum · 28/11/2006 10:37

Morning everybody and hello to all the new peeps and old peeps from the Nov threads, sorry to hear about af arrivals, I'm in 2nd week of 2 week wait and dead certain that mine's gonna arrive this week This is the first month i've been really trying and already i'm obsessing! I have 3 children from my first marriage (the youngest is 3) and concieved them all without really thinking about dates etc This time i'm thinking stupid thoughts like "it's been 4 years since i concieved last, something may not be working properly now etc ". Has anyone on here added to an existing family with a new husband? and were you just as successful on the concieving front?

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 11:16

babyfettle.....you HAVE to test! your thermometer could be playing up and you could be PG! you never know do you!
my temp went up last thur then down on fri then up on sat and has stayed up since! still getting some EWCM though so not sure what is going on! a bit pissed off if i did ov on fri, cos we didnt BD on wed or thur or fri cos of me thinking i had already ov'd and dh not being around!
you have to test now to put your mind at rest!

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 11:17

when are you due to test 20smum?

Impatience · 28/11/2006 11:26

Morning all af'ers, bd'ers, tww'ers, and the occassional graduate who pops in to dangle the carrot

Babyfettle, the month I'm sure I didn't ovulate (because cm just carried on and on and on and temps never went up) I still had af. It is of course always worth doing a test xx

Here's a temp-adjustment question to the software peeps: I woke up earlier than normal, and just lay pretending to be asleep for about half an hour before taking temp. It was 36.8. The I lay still for another half hour and tested again before actually getting up. It was then 36.6. Can I extrapolate backwards to my actual waking temp to think that it would have been higher than 36.8 when I first woke up?

Ready · 28/11/2006 11:26

Mornin'... CD18 for me. Tired. Headache. Depressed

BossyKitKat30... Just kidding of course Will try my hardest to refrain from Lost Spoiler chat, sorry for not thinking! But one final thing - Sawyer is worth the wait!! Oh and the weather is nice here.

Impatience... Sorry you are so tired... but if it turns out to be a good reason then I will be happy you were tired, IYSWIM???

Cityangel... WOW, Decorations up You go girl!!! LOL @ B&Q struggle!! We won't need a trip to the Blackpool statue next April as we will all be pg

Flossam... PMSL @ the farting symptom... is that a genuine sign? Or did you eat beans? Lucky you for having no spots, I have tons (all cycle)!

MrsMcJnr... How did the viewing go?? Did they ask if DH was including in the asking price?

Female... Sorry about AF You will get there chick!! Repeat the mantra with me "It will happen for us! It will happen for us!!"

Pesme... Hello!! Fingers crossed for you, sounds like you have been through the mill, I hope the positive calm karma (!?) of MN will be good for you! Do you chart your temps or anything??

Chooster... I am soooo pleased you are still with us! Let us know as soon as you crave anything, I am so intrigued about pregnancy, I will drive you mad with all the questions

xCharlotte... Sorry about your argument with dp, but can't help laughing at the beeps waking him up! Min beeps but DH could sleep through a bomb drop! Totally know what you mean about the "double bluff"!

Babyfettle... I am normally the one that says "step away from the clearblue" but I think in this instance you should test, as you are pretty regular and 9 days over. Does your temp normally shift every month?? I read that some women do not shift but still ov, and have to go on other signs. Good luck with the move. Let us know how you get on.

Hello to everyone else that I haven't mentioned!! All the best

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 11:32

ready?...................don't you love me anymore? you will have to stop mentioning everyone (almost!) by name, cos then we get upset when you forget us!

greedyguzzler · 28/11/2006 11:33

why are you depressed? dont be!

MyBlueSparklyTreeIsLush · 28/11/2006 11:35

Ready - I did manage to find some info which suggested the rise in progesterone in preg makes, err wind more productive...

20smum · 28/11/2006 11:37

well i think my af would be due on the 4th of dec, and i guess it's best to test after that date?

FactsAndFigures · 28/11/2006 11:42

Morning All!

babyfettle - I agree with Greedy and Honeyapple and think that maybe you should test.

20smum - can't help with TTC with new DH - I'm on first DH and TTC child #1

Hi Pesme - I'm new to this too - posted on MN for the first time yesterday!! I'm on cycle 3 and not too obsessed yet! However, I have noticed that I do think about any/EVERY little twinge!

I'm a bit confused with what's going on with me I've been doing the ovulation LH strips - until Sunday I was just getting a single control line. But on Sunday and yesterday I got a control line and a fainter test line - which was still a negative. In my naivity I thought it meant that a positive was on it's way i.e. today, however, I'm back to single control line I still have niggling pain on lower lefthand side.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm CD19 BTW.

Ready · 28/11/2006 11:44

Greedy - so sorry flower. I crossed posts with you (it takes forever to type it all)... Of course I still love you I am depressed cos I didn't BD on my OV day as DH was away so although we BD 3 out of 4 days just before OV I still feel I could have done with it on OV and once after, but it didn't happen and now I feel as though it's another missed chance, and I feel like I could cry!! Sorry to go on, but you did ask

MyBlueSparklyTreeIsLush - is this Flossam with a festive name? Or another fart fanatic? That is interesting about the progesterone!! Another thing to spot secretly!!

MrsMcJnr · 28/11/2006 11:46

Wow! so much to catch up on, which I will do but in the meantime, I have created this thread\www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=57934&topicid=1366&threadid=246279&redir=57934\here} this is so those that want to keep up but have less time to read through this can just read brief summaries of what is happening to us all, we don't want to lose anyone because they can't keep up so please take a couple of seconds to each post an update!
