Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

OP posts:
Ready · 27/11/2006 16:17

Poor MrMc laid up in bed while people look around!!

honeyapple · 27/11/2006 19:04

CD1 for me and feeling mighty grumpy at not being PG.
I think it may be because my DP likes having baths a lot... going to have to ask him to shower instead. I even read something about putting ice packs on the testes...

Does anyone else stop their other half from getting in the tub?

greedyguzzler · 27/11/2006 19:29

i cant believe how busy it is on here!!!!!!! i havent had a chance to post all day (anyone missed me?) i have been too busy with my ds and dd! WHATEVER you do everyone dont EVER have babies, they just dont give you any time to come onto MN and chat with your friends!!!!

hey perve! - sounds good for you, but try to stay calm and not get too excited cos af is always harder to deal with if you have convinced yourself you are pg first! obviously if you are then fantastic, but just try not to get too carried away (im not trying to spoil your fun, just speaking from my experience last month!)

honeyapple! i just read on the nov thread you were going to chill and then next thng i read on here that you are excited about ttc this month! honestly!!!!

twix! - i came off the pill in april, so 7 months i guess, but i didnt have first period till july. i was going to lie to the GP to be honest and tell him we had been trying longer, although it will be 9 months by the time i go in jan anyway! i am 33 too, so no spring chicken!

MrsMcSpink - you are getting your tree delivered!????! just how big is it? you are a lady of wealth aren't you? i can tell! i wanted to ask your advice on my chart too! (you are the expert on here!) i am going to try to figure out how to post a link to it if i can! i dont like the day it reckons i ovulated! i would rather it had been a few days earlier!

ready - boon isnt quite sawyer is he? but how about Mr. Echo? he makes me feel a bit funny down below!!!!! ( i am a weirdo arent i?)

greedyguzzler · 27/11/2006 19:31

i wondered about that honeyapple - cos my dh quite often has a bath before we get down to business and i can imagine his sperm all coming down with heatstroke too!

Minshu · 27/11/2006 19:38

I don't get a chance to look at this stuff while I'm at work, so have real trouble keeping up with you lot!

Honeyapple - I did ask DH not to have a hot bath the only time he suggested it last month - he thoughtfully took a shower instead. No idea if it really helps - obviously not for last month. Not sure about asking him to put ice down there... Although some people seem to like that kind of thing - who am I to judge

Not sure when I'll be allowed to put the decorations up... DH is such a bully sometimes...

MMJ - you have a balcony outside your bedroom window??? No wonder you don't want to leave. My RL name would make that most appropriate for me.

Sideways - I did have that test in my first lot - just another needle at the time. I was only told that the results were "normal". Might ask for more details when I go back for the third day-21 test on Weds.

Ready · 27/11/2006 19:39

Greedy - agreed Boon is second choice over Sawyer!! Have to say Mr Ecko is a bit burly for my taste. I like them toned and defined, not ripped and pumped! IYSWIM?

Ready · 27/11/2006 19:41

Minshu - Is your husband called Romeo by chance??

greedyguzzler · 27/11/2006 19:42

ready - he is a bit scarey too isnt he, but i bet he's a fluffy kitten in RL

honeyapple · 27/11/2006 19:47

Hi- I've just read that sperm are actually killed if they get too hot... and a bath is curtains for them, as too is hard exercise. My feller goes to the gym all the time and does spinning... i can just see his balls on fire on the bike saddle... TMI!
I dont want to put him down by suggesting he's been frying his soldiers...

And yes Greedy, I was going to give it a break this month, but seeing as AF will be due on Xmas day... I know what i'd rather have...

Ready · 27/11/2006 19:52

Greedy - He's what I often call "butch" but I reckon you are right. He's be a big gentle bear probably!!

Ready · 27/11/2006 19:53

Honeyapple - Where did you read this?? I am intrigued now!!

greedyguzzler · 27/11/2006 19:59

honeyapple - new sperm are constantly produced in the body, so as long as you tyr and get some action before a bath or big gym session it should be ok i reckon!

honeyapple · 27/11/2006 20:01

www.fertilityformen.com/info_spermhealth.php

Hi, don't know how to do a link.

honeyapple · 27/11/2006 20:03

"The sperm life cycle is about 75 days. That means that changes you make today will take about two and one half months to show up in a semen analysis."

The article says this... I thought like you greedy about sperm constantly being made... The article could be a load of old garbage... I know you cant trust everything on the internet.

Ready · 27/11/2006 20:13

Thanks honeyapple - that is interesting to read.

Gracie14 · 27/11/2006 20:17

Hi all,
Sorry only just managed to get back on here. Can't believe how many of you post on here it's great.

I'm trying for my first baby and thought it would 'just happen' the first month of trying. How wrong was I!

On CD 13 so coming up to 'best' day. I haven't started taking temps yet as I didn't want to become to obsessed about it but seems I've done just that. Any idea how I can stop thinking about days and times of trying and just let it happen?

Impatience · 27/11/2006 21:15

Just wanted to pop my head in and wave HELLO at all my ttc buddies. Greedy: Yes, I know all too well the massive disappointment when I've thought I was pg... but feel fairly chilled right now. Or is that extremely tired and slight drunk?! So far have managed to just feel positive about my body ovulating predictably, having obvious hormone shifts etc, with a quiet pleasure at the thought that this month I might just be pg... Today v v v V tired, although that could be parenthood, fulltime work, and a ridiculously busy weekend! Boobs extremely sore though. Like, when I was 12 and ran downstairs and had to stop in severe agony. Still mentally scarred to this day! Anyway, could all just be hormones and The Power Of The Mind.

Have never seen Lost and am desperately looking for a someone to borrow season 1 on DVD off (hey, or video, I aint posh) so I can catch up!

Oh, so have to go to bed now. Lots of good stuff to you all, and enjoy your Lost fixes/drools x

KitKat30 · 27/11/2006 21:28

Evening ladies - just a quick helloooo before I settle in for the night! Hope you're all OK - you're certainly a chatty bunch tonight!

Can I ask a favour pretty please??! Please, please can I ask you not discuss Lost on this thread (the virtues of Sawyer vs Boone is more than fine though )?! I dont have Sky and am getting a friend to Sky+ all the eps for me - and I'm paranoid someone will give the plot away!! So please, please could we have a separate Lost thread if poss!?! Tell me to bugger off if I'm being too bossy... Having terrible withdrawl symptoms from Sawyer and I'm just jealous you all get to see him before me really...

cityangel · 27/11/2006 21:53

Sawyer sure seems a good ttc motivator! Maybe we should put mini cardboard cut outs of him on our trees.

So all our decs are up.. yes it is too early but dh is well happy as it needed to be done before Sat and we're out lots this week.

If any of you are feeling down its a shame I can't send you a link to a video of me struggling with the damn tree at B&Q I needed a total of 4 B&Q employees and 2 helpful car park motorists to assist me!

I then spent considerable time downloading the TCOYF software and populating it only to discover my firewall at work blocked uploading it. I also realised how stupid I was having the icons as a big advert to colleagues in presentations so removed it all! Thankfully tonight I was able to get it working on the home PC. Which of course is what I should have done in the first place!

So when next year are we going to Blackpool? Can we go when its not cold? Although waiting till April sucks... Does anyone live near there who could take our photos and rub it (or fedex it)?
Ho Ho Ho City Angel

Flossam · 27/11/2006 22:58

Hi everyone, How are we all?

I'm ok; just a quick post though as no MMJ - I was working today too! Off tomorrow though. Am shattered.

CD 17 here now I think. I was doing the whole I'm not pregnant thing. Then ahem, I farted a few times and I was starting to think maybe I was. This was my overrriding symptom a few months ago - also spots at odd times for me - I have two now when I don't usually. Sorry - no symptom spotting...

MMJ Hope the prospective buyers coming went well - poor DH, bless him! Hope boss was ok when you spoke to him.

Impatience - sounds good!

Ready, Hope you managed plenty of BD over the weekend then!!

Welcome to all the newbies and sorry to those I've not 'spoken' to - I'm just away to bed.

sideways · 27/11/2006 23:23

Minshu - thanks for that, I was starting to think I hadn't asked . I don't even know what they ae measuring.

Why are you having the day 21 tests for the 3rd time?

FemaleoftheSpecies · 28/11/2006 07:46

hi december girls - fully with you as woke up to af. ow. life still seems irrationally grotty - feel like i'm never going to get there. hope you're all well and seeing v positive signs :-)

Flossam · 28/11/2006 08:01

Hi there female - I don't think I know your history, but sorry you got AF. Hopefully though you will have better luck this month.

pesme · 28/11/2006 08:35

hi, can i join in? have been 'trying' for over a year. just had a 3 month break to lose some weight and try and get some head space back (i was obsessing). have had another go this month af is due in 2 weeks and am desperately trying to quell the obsession as it made me miserable before. good luck everyone else.
