Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 12:57

Sorry, meant to say 20sMum, we are cycle buddies! I am cd22 and 7dpo and AF is due 2/12 but I'll be testing (with Impatience) on 4/12

Ready · 27/11/2006 13:08

I did OV on Day 15. Today is CD17. AF due 9/12!

eenysugarplumfairy · 27/11/2006 13:10

Just a little note to wish you all luck at ttc this Christmas!!! I did last Christmas and I believe it must be lucky after 4 years of trying!

xcharlotte · 27/11/2006 13:23

Just wanted to say a big HELLO and hope no-one minds me getting in on the TTC action!

I'm 36, been TTC for a couple of months but only just starting to get serious about it.

xcharlotte - Cycle 2 - ov'd cd 14 (I think... forgot to do OPK on that day and no other LH surge found over days before/after) - AF due 1 Dec. Not sure I can wait until 3 Dec to test!!

20'smum - Cycle 1 - ov'd cd 14/15 - AF due 4th Dec

MrsPolly - Cycle 6 - ov cd21, due to test 3rd or 4th December

Kittiwake - Cycle 2 ? already ov?d? - Af due 8th Dec.

greedy - Cycle5 - ov'd cd25 ( i think) ? due to test about 5th Dec!

MrsMcSpink! - Cycle 6 ? ov?d CD15 - AF due 2nd Dec - Testing 3rd Dec if the old hag doesn't pitch up beforehand!

Impatience: Cycle 18 - ov'd CD13 - AF due 4th Dec - testing 3rd Dec.

Ready: Cycle3 - potential to OV on CD15. Cycle is normally around 28 days give or take a day. Will not be testing until 5 days after AF fails to arrive

GeekInPigTails - Cycle5 - pretty sure OVd on CD15 - AF due 4th Dec, so might give in to temptation and join the ladies testing on the 3rd

Flossam - Cycle 3 - ov around day 10- AF dues 8th Dec (my birthday!)

Minshu - Cycle 15 - ov CD14/15 (i.e. 22/23 Nov - nicely coinciding with DH being away with work ). Cycles 28 to 32 days. Don't normally test as I know when it's coming (6-8 days after boobs get heavy). Will not be buying a test until 10th at earliest...

Kitkat - Cycle 3 - due to ov CD16 or CD18 - AF due 21st ? 24th Dec.

Beccarolloveragain - Cycle 2 - Testing 5th Dec (tho 4th is my birthday so might try a day early if I have any symptoms!)

FactsAndFigures · 27/11/2006 13:31

Thanks for the warm welcome and your reassuring words .

Counting my first 'proper' bleeding day as the first day of last AF (as you've advised me to do) makes me CD18 with next AF due 8th December (that's if I'm back to 28 day cycle ) - wow, i've just realised that's next week!

Hopefully I'll be testing for a BFP along with Flossam and Kittiwake

Tili · 27/11/2006 13:32

Ready · 27/11/2006 13:33

xCharlotte - hop on board!! There are loads of us on this sleigh!! Here's hoping that none of us are ttc in 2007!!

eenysugarplumfairy - thanks for your thoughts. I hope you are right and that festive season brings us all BFPs!!

xcharlotte · 27/11/2006 14:01

Thanks Ready!

I might be asking dumb questions for a while. Starting with: is there a sort of 'ovulation chart' that you can download or something, so that I can chart the various ways of telling if I'm about to ovulate. I've heard about the saliva test, testing temperature, etc - but so far have only been using OPKs as a measure.

I don't want to get too obsessed (but can already feel that I'm teetering on the edge of being incapable of NOT being obsessed), and would really like to feel that I am on top of what's going on 'down there'.

Just reading everyone talking about their cm has made me realise there's SOOOO much more to this than had previously met the eye!

Thanks all and good luck to anyone about to test xx

FactsAndFigures · 27/11/2006 14:02

Hi MrsMcJnr, thanks for the welcome.

Yes we're TTC our first and I know what you mean about TTC going from exciting to frustrating - I've just about reached that point now!

Good luck for when you test on 3rd Dec

Ready · 27/11/2006 14:11

xCharlotte - I know what you mean about not wanting to get too obsessed. I am with you on that. But knowing what is going on with your body and having a rough idea of ovulation is a good idea, and isn't too obsessed in my opinion! Some of the ladies on here use software (TCOYF.com) to chart all the different factors of their cycles. I don't use anything that sophisticated at the moment (only on cycle3 ttc) I just got a basal thermometer from Boots with a booklet for charting temps, and I have tailored it slightly to add in my CM observations and any other info (folic acid reminder and days we BDed)...

Desperate2bmum (Where are you???) did a link to a page where you could download a chart, but I have recently tried with no luck, so if anyone else knows of anything I would also be interested!!

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 14:15

Eeenysugarplumfairy - thank you for your lovely wishes for us!

XCharlotte - lovely to see you here! welcome! Personally, I use the Ovusoft software to chart with which is based on the Toni Welscher book I was telling you about in your other thread. You get a free trial for a few weeks (15 maybe) but I bought the software after that, it was about £23. It is so worth it, you can track all sorts of things on it, not just temps and CM etc. I'll send you a link to the site and to our chart spotter thread in a mo.

F&F - you're welcome.

Tili - so lovely to hear from you I can't believe you're 19 weeks!!! where has the time gone? sitting on here no doubt! Hope Thursday goes well, if you find out the flavour, will you let us know!?

OP posts:
Kittiwake · 27/11/2006 14:15

FactsandFigures - Hello there I'm glad there are others testing around the 8th/9th too, hope we all get a BFP. I'm pretty new to all this and it took me a while to post too but so glad I did!

Xcharlotte - Hello to you welcome to the thread, there is so much knowledge on here and I felt the same; who knew all this stuff was going on. It does start to make you a bit obsessive but I think that's better than being pretty cluless as I was previously

MadameButterfly · 27/11/2006 14:19

I will be testing about 8th/9th, if AF has not arrived.

5 years ago, I got a BRP on St Andrews day(30 November) and we told our families the new on Christmas Day. We were with DPs parents and mine were in Scotland. This year they are all coming to us for Christmas and it would be FANTASTIC to be able to give them the news after dinner.

sideways · 27/11/2006 14:26

Hello everyone, lots of chat going on today!

Welcome newbies

Has anyone had an LS/FSH bllod test? If so, can you tell me about it please. I am having one tomorrow.

Thanks

20smum · 27/11/2006 14:31

hi all - i know we are not meant to be symptom spotting hehe but i've just found a fab website www.twoweekwait.com check it out!!!!

xcharlotte · 27/11/2006 14:31

Thanks guys; I did a bit of hunting around on here after posting my question and of course found the info I wanted.

Have already downloaded the TCOYF free trial software (thanks for the link!) and will (of course!) let you all know how I get on.

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 14:32

xCharlotte, here is the link to thesoftware

and here are the links to our chart posting threadhere

and to the spotting thread where we discuss themhere

We started the chart spotter thread (well our lovely Coggy did) on 3/10/06. There were 7 of us to start with and in just 2 cycles, 3 of them have their BFPs! That's Piz Piz Piz, Stretchmarks and Babymad. There are now 4 of us on there (2 of the founder members are having a wee break, we miss them ) We also have expert advice from Trace2 (graduated from her with a BFP) and guest appearances from 1n2s, Ready, Chooster (another recent graduate) Cityangel and MrsPolly.

Have I sold our spotter thread to any more of you?

Babymad used the Fertility Friend software and I think that is free, is that right Babymadwithabump!!

Hello everyone... I bought our Christmas tree this lunchtime Am I the first sad MNer with a tree? Yes it is ridiculously early but we have 40 people coming for Christmas drinks on Saturday. We didn't think everyone would accept so its going to be a tight squeeze in our flat!

Hi CBFM buddy Kit Kat. Yes I start weeing on a stick in earnest on Wed. You're the closest to my CD too I think. I keep ending up the last one left in the month each month!

I've added myself back on the list as I somehow dropped off.

Cityangel - Cycle 4 - CD4, OV CD17, if testing it will be Christmas Day!

xcharlotte - Cycle 2 - ov'd cd 14 (I think... forgot to do OPK on that day and no other LH surge found over days before/after) - AF due 1 Dec. Not sure I can wait until 3 Dec to test!!

20'smum - Cycle 1 - ov'd cd 14/15 - AF due 4th Dec

MrsPolly - Cycle 6 - ov cd21, due to test 3rd or 4th December

Kittiwake - Cycle 2 ? already ov?d? - Af due 8th Dec.

greedy - Cycle5 - ov'd cd25 ( i think) ? due to test about 5th Dec!

MrsMcSpink! - Cycle 6 ? ov?d CD15 - AF due 2nd Dec - Testing 3rd Dec if the old hag doesn't pitch up beforehand!

Impatience: Cycle 18 - ov'd CD13 - AF due 4th Dec - testing 3rd Dec.

xcharlotte · 27/11/2006 14:39

Thanks MrsMcJnr... expect a new addition to that thread very soon

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 14:42

Cityangel - mine's arriving on Friday and I fully intend to decorate that and the whole house at the weekend! Where I live, people really go in for decorating the outside of the house too inflatable villages of santas and snowmen so this year, I am having a tree on my balcony outside my bedroom with lights on it so I can see them from my bed might let DH back upstairs for Christmas Eve so he can see them too and lights on the fir trees at the front door! No humbugs live here!!

OP posts:
cityangel · 27/11/2006 14:54

Mrs MC sounds cool. We are putting x2 sets of rope lights around our balcony and the 6ft inflatable santa! I recommend them :0)

GeekInPigTails · 27/11/2006 14:55

My DH is pretty strict about not having Christmas decorations up until advent, so I'll be busy digging them out of the loft on Sunday (which is when advent officially starts)! Getting excited about it already!! Can't wait for the Christmas smileys on MNet either

Alright MMJ, you've convinced me - I'll post my chart on the spotters thread when I get home this eve!

GeekInPigTails · 27/11/2006 14:58

Oh, just realised, Sunday is 3rd Dec, when some of us are testing! I guess Christmas decorations will be a good way to either celebrate a BFP or cheer up after a BFN

Not long now! (sorry if you're not testing until later in december!)

sunshinedays · 27/11/2006 15:27

OK to add me in??

Sunshinedays: ttc cycles +30... and lost count cd7 ov due cd 13-15ish af due 13-15th ish Dec

(Just realised means the cycle after that we'll be "b-ding around the Christmas tree"... singalong please)

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 15:58

Ok Flossam in particular will laugh at this but the estate agent has just called to say that someone wants to view our house tomorrow night! they'll have to try to look past Grandpa Joe in his bed in the lounge! Mixed feelings again about moving from my beloved house though
