Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

OP posts:
Chooster · 27/11/2006 08:47

MrsMcJ - Very very sorry for your friends - that must be devastating - to get that far and not be able to take your baby home.

I hope DH is settling in OK, great that he's back Did you send off your resignation? Does that mean you could have the build up to xmas off? Or do you reckon you'll have to work notice?

Nikx - Love your blackpool story - thats amazing

Impatience · 27/11/2006 09:30

Hello all. Very very busy weekend, now the start of a very very busy week. However, am still finding time to be either exhilerated at the thought I'm pg, or devastated at the complete knowledge that I'm not. God, I annoy myself!

Are we allowed to symptom spot yet...? I hear a few mutterings about post-ov mucus. I also had some spotting on Friday (6DPO), and today had a temp hike up from 36.7 to 37.0 and my breasts are SOOOO sore. Of course am extremely excited, but I did a massive run yesterday, so that could be cause of temp hike and soreness... But the spotting was unlike anything I've had before: It was bright red, fresh blood. Not very much, but unlike the more brown stuff I'd had before, and anything I have had before has always been much closer to af. So, less than a week to test now, and a week to know whether af is coming or not...

I'll try to stay calm, but secretly I can't wait till tomorrow morning to see whether my temp is still high...

Kittiwake · 27/11/2006 09:37

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I had my 3 month old nephew (and proud new parents) to stay he is such a sweetheart, had a lovely time and didn't feel too jealous . Actually made me feel quite positive, as in this will happen at some point for us and for you lot too!

I'm CD17, weird kind of slightly below the stomach pains for last few days I am assuming that this is Post OV stuff no glob's of anything though so into 2ww, how's everyone else doing?

Impatience · 27/11/2006 10:03

Hi Kittiwake, I'm pleased you had a good weekend without being consumed by jealousy

honeyapple · 27/11/2006 10:05

Hi guys, just to say that AF came today, so I have vacated the november thread. I've just worked out that next AF will be due on CHRISTMAS DAY...
I thought i'd give it a miss this month, but this fact has spurred me on... what a fantastic pressie a BFP would be!

Kittiwake · 27/11/2006 10:22

Honeyapple - so sorry about AF but you are right what a fantastic christmas present that would be......will keep fingers crossed for you.

I think I will be in 2ww at christmas if I don't get a BFP this time, not sure how I will explain not drinking to my family

Impatience - I know, I am quite proud I managed to keep myself in check for the whole weekend, he is scrumptious though.

KitKat30 · 27/11/2006 10:32

Morning everyone - hope you all had good weekends?

Honeyapple - sorry about about AF hon, I know all these lovely Dec ladies will give you a warm welcome!

MrsMcJ - how's DH doing? And have you managed to resign yet?!?

Impatience - don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily but could it be implantation bleed??? How exciting if it is!

Flossam and Becca - re globby mucus. I get that too, normally 4 or 5 days after ov. I read somewhere that it's normal and is due to the rise progestorone which makes CM thick and sticky.

City - how's my CBFM buddy?? you should be testing on Day 6 shouldnt you??? Never thought I'd get tired of weeing on a stick but you do!! Cant offer any advice re docs I'm afraid, but let us know how you get on.

Greedy - how long have you been trying if you dont mind me asking? It's probably on the roll call somewhere in this thread...! Just wondered how long everyone waits before going to the docs...

Hello and morning to everyone I haven't mentioned! Hope you're all OK! I'm fine, CD6 for me today, so just patiently waiting for ov ... yaaawwwn! Very, very excited that it's nearly Dec though

Impatience · 27/11/2006 10:40

KitKat: I know I KNOW!!

(need a stressy-wibbly emoticon esp for us ttc posters!)

KitKat30 · 27/11/2006 11:19

Have everything crossed for you as I type!!! When are you testing?

An

Ready · 27/11/2006 11:29

Morning ladies!! I am CD17 today, OVd on CD15 (again! - is that a good thing???) Had a lovely weekend, very chilled. Tried not to think about ttc (didn't succeed though).

Gracie14: Welcome to the sleigh. Fingers crossed for you!

Honeyapple: Hi. Welcome to the sleigh sorry about AF but liking the sound of a BFP on Christmas Morning!!

Nixz: Loved your story about the fertility statue in Blackpool. I have decided to get DH to take me in the new year if we haven't conceived by then!

Geekinpigtails: Glad your 2ww is busy busy busy, it's definitely the best way to spend it huh!! What's this about implantation shift??? Tell me more

MrsMcJnr: Argh about your new company, although on the brightside, shows they are eager??? So sorry to hear about your friends loss, how terrible
How's Dh? and you of course?? Did you hand in your notice?

Sideways, Firststar & Mirry71: How are you doing?

Kittiwake: Cycle Bud! I bet you were great with your nephew. And were you imagining how it will be with your own??

Greedy: LOL @ you moaning about the rest of us not being stuck to our computer chairs!! I was getting ready for some Sawyer treats for the eyes, but alas, the best I got was a scruffy looking Boon.

Cityangel: OOOOh a trip to Paris did you see any French fertility statues?? No advice about how to approach the GP situation, just best wishes from me!

Flossam: Cycle Bud!! Sorry to hear about your sore (o)(o)... and your blob of mucus... although could be good signs?

Babyfettle: Lovely story about the Maltese Fertility Goddess. WOO! Have you OVd yet?

BeccaRollOverAgain: How you feeling? Cervical plug comment sounds promising though!!

1n2s: Good idea to wait til the New Year. You really don't need to be stressing or waiting on test results over Christmas, and who knows you might get that BFP before then!?

Impatience: No symptom spotting! Remember "The Rules". LOL @ your Jekyl and Hyde brain - sounds so familiar chick!! I am not going to mention the possibility of implantation bleed, because we are not supposed to be symptom spotting

Ready · 27/11/2006 11:35

KitKat30 - sorry I missed you chick! Hope you are ok? I am getting excited about December too!!

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 11:36

Morning ladies! 7dpo and trying really hard to ignore anything odd - the weird vivid dreams from last cycle are back, probably excitement/anticipation, and I have so much CM, it has turned from the sticky to the wet, creamy kind. Just hoping that it is not the lining dissolving too soon . Temps still high but until I am past 10dpo, means nothing at all on my chart!

DH has been overdoing it I think, he was shattered last night and slept from 8pm until 10.30am. Must have needed it. Meant I missed Lost though as we don't have Sky upstairs!

Resigned via email on Sat but radio silence from boss, will call at lunchtime, not looking forward to that. The plan is to work 1/2 of my notice and leave in 2 weeks and have 2 weeks before Christmas at the new place, we'll see!

Hello Sideways - thanks for your kind words. it sounds like a cliche but I have always felt less than whole and missed my twin even before I knew about him, when I was really little, I had a make-believe little male friend I used to talk to, quite spooky!

Wow CityAngel - what a jet setter you are!? My plan for the GP in Janaury is to lie a bit and say I have bad pains so they have to examine/refer me, do you think that'll work? My sis was at QM&W Uni, that's near you isn't it? I used to visit her, she lived in some really interesting places!! It is a mystery to me how people get pregnant too! Umbilical cord around the neck is what happened to my twin Now, it might not take you long to conceive be positive and tell yourself it won't! Where is Desperate anyway? calling Desperate - how are you? not seen you on here for ages?

Hey Greedy - there are twins down both sides of my family we would love twins! we did BD twice on my "best" day this cycle!!

Hey Flossam - do you have a day off today then if you worked all weekend? Do you think you have OVd yet? orange CM?! what have you been doing!? I'll bear in mind your tip about being too nice to DH!

Hi Chooster - hope you had a lovely weekend! thanks for all your thoughts for me. Still feeling good?

Hello Impatience Busy is good, takes your mind off the 1ww to some extent! If implanation can happen from 6-11 dpo, is that right? surely we can symptom spot when we reach that stage? it's just useful research!! that spotting sounds like it could be a good thing, fingers crossed and that is some temp hike!!! I woke at 4.30am and temped then - 36.1 then went back to sleep and temped again at 7.30 and got 36.8 which would have been exciting but I have adjusted the two temps and so have charted 36.4! Good luck with tomorrow's temps! My coverline is 36.05 so all my temps post OV are above it anyway.

Kittiwake - glad your nephew made you feel positive, I have 2 little nephews and I love them so much in their own right as my nephews that I don't even relate it to TTC myself!

Honeyapple - sorry about AF, but great attitude lady! Here's to that very special and expensive Christmas pressie!

Hello Kitkat - you seem in good spirits!

Hello to anyone who I have missed and to those who've not posted for a while, come back and tell us how you are, you know who you are

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 11:39

Crossed with you Ready how are you? Glad you had a good weekend. x

OP posts:
GeekInPigTails · 27/11/2006 12:07

Morning all!

Impatience, I think I'll let you off that one, those sounds like some pretty noticeable un-imagined symptoms! Everything crossed for you!

Ready - the software I use to chart my temp says that sometimes (but obviously not always - why is that always the case for pg symptoms?!?!?!) you get a second temperature jump at implantation, so if your temps over the cycle go roughly ...---''' then that can be an early indication of BFP.

MMJ - good luck with your conversation with your boss!

This is probably just a Monday thing, but I am SOOOOO tired today! Just want to go back to bed...

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 12:11

Geek/Ready - some people also get an implantation dip before their temps go up again too and just to confuse us further, lots of people get that before AF so once again, it is one of those "signs" that you can only class as one or the other once you know the result!!!! typical, keeps us guessing!!

OP posts:
GeekInPigTails · 27/11/2006 12:16

bodies are so complicated!!!!

FactsAndFigures · 27/11/2006 12:19

Hello ladies - I've been reading your thread for a couple of weeks now - have just become 'brave enough' to post!! I hope you don't mind me joining you?

My DH and I have been TTC for 3 months now (not long I know!) however, I'm still trying to understand my cycle. After coming off of the depo injection I had my first AF in August, I then appeared to be on a 28 day cycle in Sept and Oct. However, in November it was slightly late. I started spotting on day 30 and had "full on" AF on day 32.

This has confused me with when I'll be ovulating this month - do I take the day when spotting occurred or the day AF arrived in earnest as the start of my last AF?

I did purchase some ovulation strips from Ebay and have only been getting the 'control' line until yesterday/today when there was a faint 'test' line - which according to the instructions is still a negative - the test line should be the same colour if not darker than the test line!

I've also got a mild stabbing pain on my lefthand side (groin area) - could this mean my egg is on it's way?!?

If so this would make me either CD18 or CD20 - is this not too late to be ovulating?

Sorry to go on so much but you ladies seem to have a lot more experience than me.

I look forward to talking to you all more

20smum · 27/11/2006 12:27

morning everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. Welcome to you facts and figures - i'm pretty new to this online chat thingy too, but it is great fun and a brilliant way of talking about baby related stuff without boring the ass off your other half!! As for ovulating on day 20, i don't think that is too late, it depends how long your cycles are, i'm pretty sure i've read other women on here ov around that time. This is my first month ttc this time around am on day 22 and expect (or rather dont wanna expect) af on 3rd or 4th Dec.

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 12:34

Welcome F&F! you're welcome to join us, the more the merrier and boy are we planning to be merry (not in the drunk way though!) this cycle -aren't we ladies!?

Are you trying for your first? I think when you have been trying for 3 months, that is the turning point from TTC being exciting and it being downright frustrating! You are in good company.

AF and CD1 start on the first day of real bleeding so don't count spotting. Re ovulation, it can vary each cycle and depends on many factors. Some of us chart our daily temperatures and CM (cervical mucus) so that we have a good idea of when we will OV. This can help make the most of your fertile window.

Others also use fertility monitors, ovulation predictor kits and saliva monitors to pinpoint ovulation and others just make sure that they BD (baby dance!) 2 or 3 times every week to cover the bases!

Truth is that women do not all OV on Cd14, it can vary from cd8 - 21 and even outwith these days too! The pains could mean you are ovulating, cd18 or 20 is not too late at all.

Don't apologise, we are happy to help and share and info we have with you! Babydust to you!

OP posts:
Ready · 27/11/2006 12:37

Thanks for the temp info GeekIPT and MrsMc... have quickly banished it from my mind though, otherwise I will start looking for dips and hikes and I don't think that is good for me. I am a worrier

FactsandFigures - Welcome, and well done for being so brave as to post... trust me, once you post you can't stop (well I can't!) I don't really know anything about Depo injections, but I would say that whenever you stop with hormonal contraception it is likely to take your body a little while to settle into it's normal routine.
If you are having a 32 day cycle then I think (stress that I only think this - I am no expert) that OV around CD18 or 20 would be fine, as that would give a luteal phase of 12 or 14 days which from what I have read is good.
Most people would say that you count your first CD as the first day of proper blood flow, not the spotting. But again, i am no expert, just repeating what I have read on here really.
As for the stabbing pain, some women experience pains around OV - mittelschertz or something equally weirdly spelled!! Good luck!! Don't pay too much attention to what I say, I am still a relative newbie myself... there are people on here with far greater knowledge who will be able to tell you more (and more accurately too I don't doubt!)

xxx

sunshinedays · 27/11/2006 12:38

Dear All
Just a little post sending positive vibes to you all ... and especially all those with a test due in the next few days. Keep positive ... IT WILL HAPPEN.

I'm seeing my consultant tomorrow - will be asking about short LP and possible treatments -p anyone else got any questions I can try to weave into the conversation if "MrL" is in a good mood?
Sx

Impatience · 27/11/2006 12:39

just to say I have to keep ducking in here for the few moments I can this week, so forgive me if I don't seem to reply. I take all your comments on board (especially the lovely encouraging ones!) Thanks for tolerating my symptom excitement: I agree that we should be able to start symptom spotting when it gets to a point where it could possibly mean something! My boobs are SOOO sore today it's v v v uncomfortable, but as I was running down that very steep hill yesterday my head was shouting 'bra too big bra too big...' so perhaps I've just done myself an injury!

To Facts&Figures: day 20 ov doesn't seem late at all. You might have a relatively short phase between ov and af - 10 days would give you a 30 day cycle, which is quite reasonable, and 10 days isn't even that short.

Right, gotta dash again - speak to you again soon

Ready · 27/11/2006 12:42

Speaking of people who know more than me... crossed posts with MrsMcResidentExpert. Only Kidding MrsMc. But on a serious note, I would just like to say Thank You so much for all your help and advice. You are a real star!!!

Ok. soppy weirdo moment over.

MrsMcJnr · 27/11/2006 12:55

Sunshinedays - thank you! I'd be interested in what he says about LP too - would he do a live chat for us do you think? .

Ready you are so nice to me! I hope Santa is good to you!

Impatience - PMSL at the bra too big thoughts, if only I had that problem with my bras, I seem to be overflowing out of all of them

Can't remember last time I did any real exercise always consider it bad to start a fitness drive in the 2ww!

OP posts:
