New thread!
This thread pretty much does what it says on the tin...
Shall we start with some stats?
I'm 32, TTC since last Jan, 2x MMC last year and on second cycle of trying again.

Gonewsimming It's totally possible but try not to get your hopes up for an immediate bfp. (Easier said than done I know!)
Yes, it can happen (we've a few examples on this thread) but I pinned so much hope on getting a bfp in the first cycle and ended up feeling totally crushed when AF arrived.

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 21:01

Thanks Marys, I'm not testing again, I have no tests left and I think that's a good thing for me. Just going to get on with things. Hoping I can continue with this laid back attitude! How are you keeping?

MarysPrayer · 12/05/2015 21:04

I'm good thanks, Mamama 3dpo and I know better than to symptom spot. Grin Ask me in another week though......

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 21:15

Haha! Marys I know, why do we do it to ourselves?! It is pure torture! Knowing when ovulation is can be a good thing and a bad thing....i dread my first 2ww...but I always have very obvious ovulation even without opks! there's no avoiding the 2ww! I hope it goes quickly and without symptom spotting for you...and ends in a lovely bfp of course!

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 21:16

A time machine would be great sometimes wouldn't it?!

MarysPrayer · 12/05/2015 21:18

Grin Smile

redredwine4 · 12/05/2015 21:59

You're absolutely right mama. Everyone is different and I hope I didn't give the impression that I meant it was easier for people who dtd all the time! That's not what I meant. I really hope your cycle kicks back into gear for you soon and you can get going again. Xx

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 22:07

Red no I didn't think that at all. I was just saying that the one month it did happen for us we dtd once so it just shows that we all have a chance as long as we dtd once or more at the right time. Thank you, I know I can't wait to at least ovulate! Good luck, I hope your bfp is on its way x

redredwine4 · 12/05/2015 23:14

You're totally right! You'll get your bfp again as well. As I mentioned once before I think, I have quite a number of friends who have had miscarriages, and another few who really struggled to conceive, and all without exception have little ones now. We'll get our turn too xx

DisneyMillie · 13/05/2015 08:23

How's it going this morning everyone? Hope you're all feeling nice and positive.

Any sign of ov yet mama?

I tried the subtle approach last night after the positive opk! Didn't work at all - got "I've had too long a day and I'm too tired!" But to give him credit once I told him I was ovulating he was willing to do the necessary!

I do agree though red that it's a bit rubbish relationship wise ttc after mc Sad. You're both so focused on conceiving that the romance goes out the window. Can't say either of us would have rated it as good sex last night - more necessary sex! Thank god it's only a couple of days a month and the rest can be more natural.

Mamama31 · 13/05/2015 09:40

Thanks Red that's good to know!!! :)

Disney no ovulation for me, still showing pregnant on tests so won't ovulate for a long while yet...trying not to focus on it too much as I don't want to get obsessive about it again. So really focusing on diet and exercise, trying to lose some weight for summer and hopefully booking a holiday soon!

Mamama31 · 13/05/2015 09:41

Disney I'm sorry dtd was such a chore but it's great you are both committed and did what had to be done! At least you can enjoy the rest of the month with no pressure.

Adventuregame · 13/05/2015 10:37

Mama remind me was it an ERPC you had ? Feels like you've been waiting ages for a BFN ? Is there any chance you could have ovulated already without realising ? When did you stop bleeding ?

DisneyMillie · 13/05/2015 11:04

Also mama did they say if you needed to go in for a scan or anything if you're still getting bfn's after a certain period of time? I'm sure there's not but you just to make sure there's no retained tissue xxx

ibeka · 13/05/2015 12:14

mamama it took three and a half weeks for my BFN. It's a nightmare, I know. Sorry you're waiting. I was so excited about ovulating then got AF (don't think I ovulated in wtf cycle) and was so so so upset. Now I'm in the tww of a 'proper' cycle and feel like it wasn't so bad it took a long time for the hormones to leave. FX you get some movement one way or the other soon.

I have come to view DTD as different to normal sex. DTD is what happens the few days around ovulation and it's a different kettle of fish entirely to normal relationship sex that can happen at any time. That way I don't mind that it's so 'functional'.

kep1979 · 13/05/2015 12:42

nouser keeping everything crossed for you. I have adopted a "today, I am pregnant" mantra, and just focus on one day, and therefore feel I can allow myself to be happy about it.

mamama hope you get your BFN soon! I did ovulate when I was still pulling bfps, albeit very very faint. So you never know.

I totally get the dtd v "normal" sex, it is a pain. Normally we are both quite frisky but there is something crappy about "having to". Now we are completely abstaining.... we had sex the night before I started spotting/bleeding last time, and whilst I know the sex didn't cause the miscarriage it still freaked us both out (especially dh who was scared to do it while I was pg and I talked him into it!). Very annoying as I am feeling quite frisky Grin

I hope you guys don't mind me hanging out here - I have joined some pregnancy boards but feels a bit weird posting too much on there before I get past the point I mc last time. That's my first milestone. Only 1 week and 5 days to go. Hmm.

Romeolovesjuliet · 13/05/2015 13:28

mama i hope you get your bfn soon - that waiting part is really horrible. It took 4.5 weeks for me but then I went straight into AF so was able to try again after that. Ugh I hate the 2ww. I don't think our chances are great this month as I ov'd later than usual - we DTD CD 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 17 and FF says I ov'd CD 17 although I think CD16 as I had some twinges that day. We were just too tired on CD 16 and I think missing that day will have messed things up. Oh well, only another 10 days until I find out Hmm
I feel awful saying this as I know many of you have had a much tougher journey than me but I am really struggling as I genuinely thought I would be pg again by now - I got pregnant with DD, DS and the last baby we lost first cycle and the mc I had before DD was only the 3rd cycle of trying and I wasn't using opks or temping then. I know it doesn't work like that though and I need to adjust my expectations.
kep of course you can stick around - totally get wanting to get past that first milestone.
We'll need a new thread soon! Anyone any idea how to create one?!

Nousername2015 · 13/05/2015 13:30

Thanks kep. I'm trying very hard to come around to the 'Today I am pregnant' view but I think it will be very hard until I'm past the point where I was before. Told DH I don't even want to mention it for at least a few weeks. Like you I want to stick around here for a while longer.

mama I agree with Disney, did they give you a time frame for your bfn? I was told it's around the 3 week mark. Hope it gets sorted soon for you Flowers

Dtd vs 'normal' - agreed, totally different things. It was only when we started properly 'trying' that I realised how much pressure you put on yourself (and OHs put on themselves) on this few days a month.

CarrotPuff · 13/05/2015 14:55

It took me about 5 weeks to get a BFN, even then it was after AF as started. I would give EPU a call nonetheless mama, and see what they say. They might get you in for a scan just to check, or might say give it another week.

Romeo go ahead, just make a new thread and post a link here. It seems like those who have created new threads before get upduffed so maybe it will bring good luck for you Wink

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2378045-TTC-after-MC-6-the-lucky-one-for-all-of-us

Ok, here's the new thread for when we need it...hope the link works...

megarobotdiscoparty · 14/05/2015 00:00

Tentatively joining...My MC was 2/5 so not so long ago. Naturally completed, scan showed all clear 8/5....on a whim did an OPK today and got a line! Only my 2nd natural line ever - we're having fertility treatment so was waiting for first AF to start clomid again. Couldn't pass it up really so dtd....it would be a VERY early ovulation for me though, so keeping expectations in check. Can't see it being a hit. But still exciting just to know those hormones are in me somewhere after all.

Hi everyone - so blooming lovely to see ladies on here with BFPs - gives me hope. Lots of luck to everyone!

DisneyMillie · 14/05/2015 06:55

Welcome mega sorry you find yourself on here Flowers. I find this thread really helpful - lots of people who understand and lots of good news to give hope.

So i guess I'm now in the 2ww given my positive opk on Tuesday. Going to try not to think of it too much yeah right and try and enjoy the now.

I understand you wanting to abstain even though we know it doesn't make a difference kep we dtd the day after our heartbeat scan last time and they say the baby died shortly after the scan. I know it didn't do it but i know I'll find it had if I get a bfp again. I think it's us looking for a reason and a way to prevent it happening when it was probably just horrible bad luck.

Lilliana · 14/05/2015 07:02

mega I'm so glad you got a line - I hoped you might after mc even without clomid. Fx for you. The wtf cycle always seems messed up. I think I must have conceived about a week/10 days after my mc (although no clue really - I'm hoping they might give me an early scan) which would be early for me too so you never know!

Huge congratulations Nouser there's a lovely supportive 'best shit place' thread if you want to join us when you feel ready for an antenatal thread.

megarobotdiscoparty · 14/05/2015 08:27

Hi Lilli you got a BFP!! Eek! (sorry will try to dial down excitement to sensible levels)! How are you finding it? I bet the days are going so slowly, I hope you're ok headwise. And so soon after MC too...so it is possible. Fx for a boring old 9 months for you Flowers

Hi Disney I know I'm sceptical of my chances but as I got a posi OPK yesterday I'll be on the 2ww with you to hand hold. Fx all round....
