New thread!
This thread pretty much does what it says on the tin...
Shall we start with some stats?
I'm 32, TTC since last Jan, 2x MMC last year and on second cycle of trying again.

Has anyone had any tests with gp or privately? I have just had a miscarriage at 6w1 day after a mmc in december at 11 weeks. Have a child born in 2011 and had a mmc before that at 12 weeks.

I'm 39 and just don't want to waste another 6 mths getting myself ready to try again if there is a problem. I hadn't made a gp appt yet for the latest pregnancy so not sure how that works and if you need to go on the record?

We are in herts and I have seen a fertility clinic in chesthunt or could go to London. We do have private health insurance but not sure if we are covered for investigations. We could afford to go private but just wondering what the gp can offer or if it is quicker just to go private.

Thanks.

Fizzie100 · 02/05/2015 14:43

I totally agree about when it's a close friends baby it is ok, but can be tricky when caught off guard. Two weeks after our MC it was my goddaughters 1st birthday party and I was ok but found the ten other babies really hard. We were only ones without a baby. And we were raw for our loss. So tough.
Hope everyone is ok. Thinking of those hsving tough time. I feel absolutely dreadful today. Nauseous and tired I have my early scan next week so am praying for a miracle and a heartbeat. Love to all xx

Red sorry you've having such bad luck atm, brickie sorry you feel AF is on the way.

MissMrs how're you doing? Fizzie good luck for your scan next week.

Disney I'm not much help re: blood levels etc as mine were so low almost immediately. (I miscarried naturally and was only 5 1/2 weeks).

Welcome Sasha. I'm 37 too. DD is 2 1/2 so I can relate to how you feel about the ever increasing age gap. Flowers

Thelion I would be interested to know about private fertility checks too. If there's a problem I would rather know now than later.

mrsdiddlydoo · 02/05/2015 22:25

lion I would ask your gp if they would refer you to a recurrent mc clinic. Typically on the nhs you need 3 consecutive mc to be able to be referred but I know plenty of ladies who have been referred after 2 because age is a factor (is over 35). It would be quicker to go private though. Maybe ask what gynae cover you could get with your insurance. If they don't cover fertility/mc stuff try to get round it by using a hormonal/ladies health angle.

If you can get testing done after 2nd mc it is worth it.

Red sorry you have such a rough time, I hope you get some happier days soon Flowers

Fizzie I'm keeping everything crossed for your scan xx

Welcome Sasha, so sorry for your losses, I feel for you on the small age gap...

Isn't Clomid used to stimulate ovulation?

Mamama31 · 03/05/2015 12:16

Fizzie I hope your scan goes well and that you can relax after you get some reassurance...its such an anxiety provoking time for you.

Welcome sasha and sorry for your losses that must be so difficult for you. I'm not too sure about clomid, I don't have any experience with that but someone else on here will hopefully be able to guide you.

So today is the first day of my new "Positivity Plan" that will help me to change my outlook on things and get back to enjoying my life again and remove the negative thoughts from my head. From now on ladies you will only hear positive things from me :)

redredwine4 · 03/05/2015 13:00

Thanks all. You're all very lovely.

It's been a couple of weeks since a bfp on here. CD13 for me. I'm sure there will be some ladies approaching the end of their cycles. Keeping my fingers crossed for some good news stories!

ItBoilsMyPiss · 03/05/2015 20:23

CD33 here, 13DPO (ish, I only tracked with OPKs/CM/CP/CT) and another BFN this morning. Not showing any signs of a BFP or AF. Confused I have no idea whats going on. I am officially writing April off and focusing on really paying attention to what my fanjo is doing on my next cycle.

BBT chart is all over the place due to waking up at either 6am or 7am, which obviously throws it off, I think I shall have to suck it up and set an alarm for 6am and try and do some morning Pilates for my ruined core muscles before my DDs wake up.

CarrotPuff · 03/05/2015 20:30

ItBoils fx you're less dpo and it's too early.

I'm 10-12dpo and desperately trying not to symptom spot and patheticly failing. I'm a right moody cow at the moment which is not helping!

ItBoilsMyPiss · 03/05/2015 21:04

Carrot This is true, I could be anywhere between 9-13DPO. But CD33, this is a long ass cycle, urgh. I had a 37 day one in January after the MC.

I too am a right moody cow at the moment, the desire to have another baby has completely overwhelmed me this week.

Tootle10 · 04/05/2015 16:44

Hope everyone's managed to enjoy the bank holiday weekend.

I'm on CD33 too - waiting for second AF after mc so think my cycles must still be settling down. Trying not to symptom spot but failing as I had brown cm on cd29 from cd32 which has now stopped Will probably test in the next few days if AF doesn't arrive. My cycles have ranged from 31 to 39 days before so hard to know what's going on.

For those asking earlier, I got my bfn about 2 weeks after mc, which was the first time I tested.

brickiemum2 · 04/05/2015 18:30

I'm now 14 dpo I think and af should be here on Thursday (my best guess, I had ov pains on cd 12/13...no testing done). Boobs are still killing me and I feel a bit pukey. Think these are just pre af symptoms though. I've got my hpt back from dh today.......

brickiemum2 · 04/05/2015 18:32

Oh and I was just over 3 weeks after surgical management when I got bfn after mmc.

DisneyMillie · 04/05/2015 18:46

I hope it all goes ok with the scan Fizzie xx

I know the NHS only has limited funds and they have to take the view that most first miscarriages are "bad luck" but I wish they'd do basic blood tests after one - it's just a bit frustrating thinking you have to try again and it might be pointless if it's a hormonal / blood thing that could easily be solved and the heartache could be prevented.

Having said that - we've had a lovely weekend away with DD forgetting about everything and I'm going to try and take the positive view for the next few months.

Hope everyone's weekends were good x

Mamama31 · 04/05/2015 18:55

Brickie when will you be poas?? Symptoms sound promising.

I will be 2 weeks from surgical management after mmc on wed, but decided I won't test to check for bfn for another while as it is horrid still getting a pos test knowing your not pregnant so I thought that I'd just look out for ovulation signs (cm etc) and if they are showing ill test then and if bfn will do ov test as well.

Hoping to see a bfp soon for you Brickie!

And I hope everyone's enjoying the wkend. I had a long coastal walk with a friend...it was very therapeutic :)

DisneyMillie · 04/05/2015 19:07

Sounds sensible Mamama - I think I might check on a hpt next weekend and hope for a bfn (feel weird saying that!).

Mamama31 · 04/05/2015 20:13

I know disney....all this time hoping for a bfp....now looking for a bfn....it is very weird. I was so focused on it last week but I'm just forgetting about it now and moving forward as willing it to be a bfn isn't going to make it happen. Checking for ovulation for me seems like a more logical plan.

brickiemum2 · 04/05/2015 22:14

Well.....I might have been tempted to poas.........

MrsConfusion · 04/05/2015 22:43

Brickie does that mean you gave in to temptation...?

Just survived a party with 3 week old baby. Ouch. Had only gone to support friend who's struggling to conceive, but she gave no warning baby was coming despite knowing about mcs. Rain storm pretty much summed up how I felt, p*sding down all through long drive home. Time for bed and cuddles I think. Night all you brave ladies Flowers

Mamama31 · 04/05/2015 23:19

Brickie???? Bfp???

brickiemum2 · 05/05/2015 05:32

Eek.......

DisneyMillie · 05/05/2015 06:41

That's brilliant brickie - here's to a nice non eventful 9 months ahead for you x

I love it when I read bfp stories after mc - gives so much hope Smile

Sorry for the rubbish night MrsC

It's my first day back at work today - everyone knows and I know they'll all be lovely but I'm dreading it Sad

Tootle10 · 05/05/2015 06:55

Congrats Brickie! Fabulous news!

I may have also poas....

Good luck today Disney x
