New thread!
This thread pretty much does what it says on the tin...
Shall we start with some stats?
I'm 32, TTC since last Jan, 2x MMC last year and on second cycle of trying again.

adventure lol at being your fertility guru - I'd been trying for 29 cycles before my BFP so maybe not the best Grin Mind you I have been at this charting malarkey for years... having pcos I need to chart/opk to have any idea if/when I've ovulated Smile

Dh is looking forward to tonight off dtd Grin I had to pull out all of the moves last night to get him onward, so to speak sniggering at unintentional pun

kep1979 · 29/04/2015 14:30

disney so sorry for your loss Flowers. I started ttc immediately after the bleeding stopped (which was a week after my mc on 15 May). It appears I ovulated a week later (so on day 14 if day of mc was day 1). Unfortunately AF arrived, so I'm now on first proper cycle, and just ovulated. A couple of the lovely ladies on here conceived without getting AF (in the so called WTF cycle) so it is possible. GL.

TeenieDeenie · 29/04/2015 16:08

Hi all, I've been popping on every now and again to see how you're all doing.

Disney, welcome and am so sorry you find yourself here. Everyone is different, but if you feel you are ready to try again soon then there is nothing stopping you from doing so... I was advised to wait until I had one natural AF but I think they advise this for dating your pregnancy, should you fall quickly, more than anything. I'm also 35 and found out I'd had an mmc in December, 2 days before my 12 week scan. It was my first pregnancy. Do you have any dc?

Kep, will be interested to see how you get on with the SMEP this month. Fx for you, I may give that a try next month.

So first month officially trying since my mmc due to crazy long cycles and an infection the past few months. I've just bought the clear blue digital with dual hormone ovulation test kit for this month so am hoping this helps give us the best possible chance. My cycles have levelled out at 37 days (used to be 27) so am due to start testing Friday. Come on smiley faces!!!!

Mamama31 · 29/04/2015 18:44

Kep you were ttc for 29 cycles before your bfp? Did you have any fertility investigations? And am I right that this is your first cycle after af ttc again? Sorry I'm just interested as have been ttc a long time also, just wondering how you are staying positive or if you are doing anything different this time? Do you feel your bfp was down to chance or did you change anything? I feel that my DH had stuck to a good regime with a combo of vitamins for a steady 3 months prior to our bfp so just wondering if you feel you did anything significant?

Mamama31 · 29/04/2015 18:46

Welcome Disney, sorry you are here though with a loss. We would like to ttc again asap, but hcg still showing pos on preg test so might be a while coming down :( wish it would hurry up so we could just try and get on with it!

MarysPrayer · 29/04/2015 19:58

Welcome Disney, sorry you find yourself here. You're in the best company though -we're a lovely lot! Smile

Nouser I have found opks quite useful, although I agree with carrot that looking out for ewcm and ov pains are great ways too. The opks are useful for predicting when AF is likely to appear. For example this month I got a positive opk a day later than usual and so, since the LP is usually the same length every month, I knew AF might be a day late too but still got my hopes up and poas

mrsdiddlydoo · 29/04/2015 20:09

probably big hugs. Thinking of you.

I've had some spotting this week so convinced its all over. Has slowed down. Got a private scan booked for next week.

Sorry to see new faces here but its full of lovely and knowledgeable ladies to hang out with.

MarysPrayer · 29/04/2015 20:21

I really hope everything is ok MrsD. Try to stay positive (easier said than done, I know Flowers. Spotting can be ok though.

Mamama31 · 29/04/2015 20:52

Mrsd hoping that everything goes ok at your scan and that the spotting is nothing to worry about.

kep1979 · 29/04/2015 22:39

mamama yep it was 29 cycles. We've gone through all of the fertility investigations. I have pcos, and had ovarian drilling in August to try to help. Dh has decent swimmers in terms of numbers and swimming but low morphology (so they're pretty much all dodgy looking). We were discharged as there is nothing further they can do for us, and we had planned to start (private) IVF/ICSI in February. Due to a house move we decided to postpone, and then got BFP. I don't think we did anything differently, apart from carrying on dtd every other day after the fertile window, but not sure that would make any difference.

In terms of how do I stay positive, well I found the first 18 months harder, as I kind of had given up on it happening naturally. So maybe that took the pressure off? I'm not a big fan of the "relax and it will happen" phrase, as it makes me rage! Especially when someone who got pregnant immediately says it Angry. But I was really trying to cut back on my stress levels the month before (I have a very stressful job).

I'm doing the same this cycle, so maybe it will do the trick?!

Sorry for the essay, if you want to know anything about fertility investigations then just ask, I've had pretty much every test going Smile

kep1979 · 30/04/2015 10:23

mrsd hope all is ok with you x

littlebbunny · 30/04/2015 11:13

See quite a few new faces here, so sorry for your loss, hope you and everyone else here get sticky bfp's soon. xx

I'm heading towards the end of weeks five and don't feel pregnant for most of the time, no sore breasts (except in the mornings) and no ms. I do however feel bloated, lots of gas Grin and mild lower back pain. I don't know if it's the gas but my stomach has felt unsettled for the last two days.
My first scan is in 2 weeks which feels like forever already.
Really struggling to stay relaxed and positive.

Mamama31 · 30/04/2015 11:23

Thank you Kep. Wow you are quite amazing really! I still feel like I'm waking up in the middle of a nightmare every day :( we have had all fertility investigations as well. All is well with me and we have been told DH sperm is all in the normal range apart from 20% antibodies which the prof has said he thinks is a "red herring" whatever that means! But he's repeated the SA and we are waiting on those results. To be honest his morphology was 7% and I think that's low as well. But the repeat SA was done after DH started a cocktail of vitamins and stuck to a more consistent regime so I'm keen to get these next sa results, also because we got a bfp I'm convinced they must have improved somewhere.

We are on the waiting list for ivf/icsi but it is very long here and won't start treatment until jan 2016. have you had any treatment on the NHS?? If we don't get a bfp naturally or on our NHS go, we plan to go to Czech Republic next year for more treatment (cheaper/good reports/higher success rates).

I know what you mean Kep, about the first 18 months being the hardest. I found that too, and the month before our bfp I had a lovely, relaxing holiday and had accepted our fate was ivf...makes you wonder if stress does play a part. But unfortunately I feel like the mmc has catapulted me back to the stage where I was stressed and desperate for a baby to the point it was not healthy.

Anyway, that's a long post. Thank you for your reply, it's comforting to know that I am not alone in this long journey and also to see how well I could be coping with it like you are. Inspiring, really :)

Romeolovesjuliet · 30/04/2015 13:15

kep and mama I think you're both amazing Smile

kep1979 · 30/04/2015 13:43

mamama and romeo aww thanks Smile To be honest I have so much going on at the moment that I think my brain hasn't managed to process everything - I'm appealing for a secondary school place for ds, have a mega stressful project at work, and am currently camped out at the in-laws due to very very slow house purchase! I do have bad days, but feeling scarily positive at the moment (I'm sure it won't last). Everyone deals with things differently, and there is no right way. I'm a compartmentaliser.... which does has its downsides!

Due to having two dc from previous marriage we don't get support on NHS for IVF/ICSI which is fair enough. We decided to wait until we had bought the new house for a variety of reasons; at first I was so impatient but now I'm glad we are waiting for now.

7% morphology isn't bad at all - dh's was 1% (on two separate tests) and the consultant was quite comforting as he said it was the most subjective number and he wasn't worried. Obvs for IVF/ICSI it doesn't matter as much. And because we got one BFP I am hopeful that it can happen again. I have got him on the wellman conceptions vits, a high dose vit c and omegas since the results but haven't had a repeat so not sure if it has made any difference.

I am sure we will get there, and have our rainbow babies Smile

CarrotPuff · 30/04/2015 14:21

MrsD I'm hoping it's nothing, and just old blood. Keeping everything crossed for you... Have you contacted EPU? how far along are you?

mrsdiddlydoo · 30/04/2015 14:26

Thank you ladies.

Come home from work early to surf doc google and catch up with mn rest up. Mentally exhausted playing the is there/isn't there a living bean inside me. Stress is not good. If the spotting stays away, which it seems to be, I promise I'll be more positive at the weekend.

Hugs all round. Feeling emotional and soppy. I think you're all amazing x

Romeolovesjuliet · 30/04/2015 14:34

MrsD, glad to hear the spotting seems to be stopping. Rest up and look after yourself.

kep1979 · 30/04/2015 14:41

mrsd glad things seem to be easing - definitely rest up and catch up with mn, but try to stay away from Dr Google. Keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

Mamama31 · 30/04/2015 15:17

Thanks Romeo, I don't feel amazing...I feel like I'm living in groundhog day ttc again....every day...forever! But hoping Kep will rub off on me soon!

Kep that's annoying you don't get NHS go. I have a DS from previous relationship, DH has no children and we are entitled to one ivf/icsi. Our next appointment will be soon I think May sometime and that's when we get recent SA results and my AMH result. It will also be decided then whether we get ivf or icsi based on those results.

I'm not going to mention the mmc at fertility app in case it puts us further down the list if they think we can concieve naturally....the list is already 8/9months long!

DH is taking 1000mg vit c, zinc, selenium, wellmans and we both just started taking q10. I am taking 1000mg vit c, prenatal vit and bcomplex. I usually take high dose b6 also but that was for spotting/short LP so going to wait and see if I still need that or not.

I'm very interested to see DH SA results as the last sa was taken after consistent use of all of those vits and I am keen to see if there has been a significant improvement.

Mamama31 · 30/04/2015 15:26

Also today I met friends, I was quite emotional but feel it helped. They are so supportive and caring, always giving good advice. And they are very optimistic that we will conceive again naturally which gives me some hope that they have faith. After lunch I had to buy a baby gift for my DS new baby sister, it was hard but it was something I thought this morning that I wouldn't have the strength to do. My friends helped me choose a cute little outfit and I got a nice card from DS also. I need to acknowledge that I had the strength to do this....maybe I am stronger than I think (kep keep rubbing off on me please).

kep1979 · 30/04/2015 15:50

mamama you are strong! I know how hard it is to believe but it's true. I had a hard time five years ago, battling anorexia, but hitting rock bottom and then coming through it proved that I was strong and could deal with anything thrown at me. You just have to have faith in yourself and be kind to yourself. We are all healing at the moment, and we can do this xx

Mamama31 · 30/04/2015 16:02

Kep, seriously! You are like superwoman, I'm in awe! Ok you are right we can do this!!!!! Thank you x

kep1979 · 30/04/2015 17:35

Hahahaha mamama do I get a cape? Grin. If you want some light relief you should read the "why is irritating one's children so much fun?" thread - I am howling!

Mamama31 · 30/04/2015 17:40

Yes Kep, you def qualify for a cape!!!! Ooooh light relief sounds like fun....haven't had that in a while...must take a look...
