Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Take your time Stoat, these things can drag and drag Sad

If anyone loves cats on t'internet, I wholehearted recommend spending some time with Maru on YouTube, he is a gem of a cat and always makes me smile.

Jelly, you're not out yet. If your LP is short, wouldn't B-complex be a better plan than soy?

jellypi3 · 04/03/2015 19:22

Omg I love Maru chat his obsession with boxes is great.

Yeah b6 is better for LP but I read somewhere soy was also suitable for LP. But maybe b6 is less dangerous? Do you know how much you are meant to take and when from and to?

MyBlackCat · 04/03/2015 19:31

Just home from work and catching up....

Just screamed out loud and did a fist pump not like that lemon at the BFP news. It's made my fucking shit day so thanks lemon mahooosive congratulations... Now even more excitement I get to read the cat AIBU thread!

Jcandy · 04/03/2015 19:41

jelly you are not letting any one down! This is reality and he needs to deal with it! If you end up fucking up your cycles with soy then it will take even longer!! It's only been 2 months that you've properly been trying! He needs to give it time. He can pay to get tested privately if he wants but he really shouldn't be putting any pressure on you!

jellypi3 · 04/03/2015 19:58

It's not pressure, I feel like I'm making him out to be a monster! He's really not he's so supporting and loving he just wants it so much. He is just worried it's his fault and I told him it's nobodies fault but I feel bad because he is such a lovely person and he really wants this for us.

I've told him that we need to give it a few cycles and keep trying as we are, he's happy to. I'm tempted to try the b6 to lengthen my LP a bit but no idea the dose etc. la hopefully will know :)

MyBlackCat · 04/03/2015 19:58

Love love love the cat thread!

DH got observed at his school inspection today - seems to have gone well so hoping for a celebration shag this evening, today is ov day so will be timed to perfection.

Jcandy · 04/03/2015 20:24

jelly sorry I wasn't trying to suggest he was a monster. You need to try and relax! It will happen. You will both get your baby! Smile Just be careful with stuff that can really affect stuff. B6 may be ok, but I'm sure la said it was best to wait a while and be sure. Your lp is lengthening each month, and if you don't get AF today or tomorrow you'll be up to 10 days

jellypi3 · 04/03/2015 20:28

Thanks jc I just felt like I was moaning about him when I have no reason to moan. But yeh I know it will happen for us soon. We are lucky that we have found each other and decided to start trying at this age so we have time in case something is wrong. I think the wedding is adding extra pressure, but it will all fall in to place soon :)

Talking of the wedding, anyone ever been to Mauritius? Is it good

Re b6 I started it a couple of days into my period as I had to go buy some and was taking 100mg and sometimes 50mg everyday until 3dpo. Then stopped as there was conflicting online advice about continuing or stopping after ov.
I read doctors say start with 50 and if it doesn't help go up to 100. I didn't want to waste time figuring it out so went straight in on 100 and occasionally felt nervous for no reason at all so dropped to 50
I believe the uk and eu medical boards define safe intake at 60 a day, but the USA boards at 100 a day. Recommended uk advice is not to exceed 25 a day, but I presume this is not relevant if you're taking it for a specific reason, as is the case with most meds or supplements. I figured 100 is perfectly safe unless you are taking it for more than a year (potential neuro damage then) but if b6 will help lengthen the lp it should so so within three to six months anyway.
Of course, this is all moot since I'm obviously only js'ing and ignoring scientific whatnots (see previous comment re health shop vs pharmacy).
Ooo-ooh and I only took b6 not a general bcomplex one. My preg vits have other b's in them already, and my folic acid comes with b12 added too.
Sorry, long post on non shagging topic. Blame jelly Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 04/03/2015 20:55

Do I hear my name? Jelly don't be disheartened - you're still only on the first few cycles after af returning, it still needs to settle down. I didn't take b6 until I'd had short luteal for 6-7 months and cycle was regular.

If you do take it viroids make sure you take complex not just b6 as you can cause a deficiency which is not good. And stop taking once you've got bfp. Dosage - I started on 50 but upped to 100. In America people take 200, which is silly amounts! 100 is what I was advised for lp defect but I had good results with the 50 too. I would start on 50 and see if it makes a difference to your next 2 cycles. But jelly I really would hold off - your cycles haven't had a chance to settle and you're getting stressed about ttc which isn't gonna help them.

You need to let your body recover it's natural balance after years of controlling your cycles with hormones. Pumping yourself full if more stuff won't help. See what it's like in 4-5 months. Remember when you thought af would never return? But it did. Now is the next stage - it's maddening to have to be patient but unfortunately this ttc lark seems to be full of it!

Big hugs xx

Have consumed duck pate and pepperoni pizza in last hurrah before weaning myself from the contraband food tomorrow. Such a strange thing, planning to get pregnant... I have been pregnant twice before and both were accidents so never really thought about giving up soft cheeses and cured meats, fags on a night out etc. until I had to. Came across a crazy article from the US about women adverse to gaining weight whilst pregnant. Wierdos!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 04/03/2015 21:18

Re: supplements. Has anyone tried the prenatal supplements for over 35's? Or do you take anything else special?

ZylaB · 04/03/2015 22:08

sky I just took pregnacare, no one mentioned anything special for old farts like me :)

mrs are you on the super strength folic acid tablets? You should be as you're diabetic :)

Ainat266 · 04/03/2015 22:11

congrats lemon!!!

Thank you for the advice aurora. I think I'm going to see how this meeting I've got with the school counsellor goes on Monday, see if she can advise me on what to do next and who to ask for help. I don't mind paying to see someone privately if it's going to help me. I tried counselling before (like 5 years ago) and just didn't like the guy I was put with. It was a waste of everyones time really...

I've only got a weeks worth of metformin left. should I put my repeat prescription in or book an appointment to see a doctor? answers on a postcard please.

honeysucklejasmine · 04/03/2015 22:41

Ain it might be worth having a word with your pharmacy. In the bigger ones they will do a consultation I'm a private room. A pharmacist knows just as much (if not more) about the drug, so if its a matter of is the still suitable etc, they might help. Can always ask if they know anything and if not book a doctors appointment. Smile

Ainat266 · 05/03/2015 07:27

honey my pharmacy is next door to my doctors. They actually have a walk through bit between the two for when they are both open.. it's a smaller pharmacy though.

There other pharmacies around that I could drive to but I don't know which ones have that little consulting room.

book a doctors appointment then?

jellypi3 · 05/03/2015 07:49

Morning all. la thanks for the very sensible advice. I'm just getting frustrated guess. I'll read your post to DP if u don't mind so he knows I'm not making it up.

aur echo what la said around normal b6. You should be taking complex ideally.

AF started as I got up today. So my
LP was 9 days I think (she arrived on 10DPO). Which is better than last month. So I'm out for this month now! Although FF is saying I will ice on my bday!

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 05/03/2015 07:58

Sorry about AF Jelly! Boo to the witch!

I think so Ain

LaLaLaaaa · 05/03/2015 08:02

Course I don't mind jelly, whatever helps. Sorry about af. It does sound like lp is creeping up. Mine was 10 days solid which was borderline lp hence I started b complex. See where you are in 4-5 months x

jellypi3 · 05/03/2015 08:43

Right I've got my fanjo plugs. Ready to give them a test drive (Doubled with a pad ofc )

morning all. was so nice to stay in bed until 8.30 after 5.30 starts all week!

can't remember if I posted to congratulate lemon so congrats! mc is a very real and scary risk, but its much less than 25% in many cases when you take account of age factors etc so try not to worry and focus on the 75%+ aspect instead.

stoat sorry your still in limbo. my temps are still high so fuck knows what my body is doing. cd15 today and I was ovulating cd18-20 with ewcm weeks before but none yet so I think I still have progesterone in my system. just planning to keep shagging for the love of it!

had problems with our mortgage application yesterday but hoping its all sorted now, had to go with a different lender at slightly higher interest rate but that's better than not getting the mortgage. had to get our credit reports - I'm 983/999 and dh is 969/999 - love that I beat him despite being the lower earner now!

jelly if AF started 10dpo then lp was 9days. I'd lay off the soy but I'd say bcomplex is less risky. I'd agree with la and hold off another few months though. private sa for dh hear cost £75 so not a massive difference to home kit for the certainty so if your dh wants to do that I'd say it can't hurt. if there were issues with him then it would get you tested on NHS quicker and start the referral process sooner. not sure if you'd have to go thru gp for it though. I'd find number for your local clinic (try hfea website) and call them to ask if you need a referral. but remember even if you get tested/referred they may still want you to wait until 12m after AF returned before they will test/treat you. that said if dh does have issues I can give you a list of things that improved my dhs numbers to start you off!

jellypi3 · 05/03/2015 09:32

thanks lil £75 isn't that bad, I think we will look in to it. I'll have a look on the HFEA website later :)

I will tell DP tonight that we should wait a while, if I read him some of the advice on here he will listen. He refers to you as my "experience shagging friends"!!

Bet you're relieved to have a normal day eh lil :)

How you feeling today lemon

OP posts:
Jcandy · 05/03/2015 09:34

Sorry about AF jelly Flowers

ain I would probably book a doctors appointment, just means you can discuss it with them so they know you're in the same place

auroraboringalis · 05/03/2015 09:42

Oo-ooh I posted last night before bed to listen to la as I know nothing about anything much except art and soil, but I see it never posted onto the thread? Hmm

Stoatystoat · 05/03/2015 10:03

Enjoy yourself. lil you saucy mare!

I'm still on a shagging ban and I'm so sad that I can't get that closeness. I risk infection if I do have sex so that's a no no. Not that my clinic told me that, that's advice I've had to confirm myself. I can't see a time where I'll be back to normal.

I slept from 1130 until 9am and would have gone longer had I not been woken up (not like me). I'm so tired at the moment, I don't know if that's physiological to do with the mc or a sign that I'm depressed because of the mc.

I have woken up a bit bruised from counselling today, stuff came up and it made me realise that I'm not just dealing with my mc but it's bringing up a lot of bad blood from my past. Maybe that's just a load of bollocks. But I do feel bad, I feel like it's a continuation of shit things that have happened.

Back at work on Monday though, maybe that will help me out.

Sorry the witch is here jelly xx
