Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

we did every 3rd day last month and no joy. so we are going every other, CDs 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and then seen if I'm sure we're well past OV. I have looked at my dates again and I think I possibly should be on the jan bus as if my cycle is like the last one I should be due 29th, but if its like it normally is it would be 1st.

my brain cannot cope!

mummyofonesofar · 13/01/2015 21:02

I've had to write it all down or I forget!

MillieMoodle · 13/01/2015 21:57

Hi all, AF seems to have gone again so let's hope that's it!

accidentaldancer · 13/01/2015 21:59

Hi ibk

Welcome. Thought I would say hi and 'snap' as I too am 31 (v soon 32) and brand new to the forums...

Any nice plans for birthday?

mummyofonesofar · 13/01/2015 22:19

Feel like the baby on here!

nightandthelight · 13/01/2015 22:28

Nice to see you ibk :) several of us are new here too. I am trying really hard to stay relaxed about everything but I haven't even started TTC yet and it feels as though it is all I think about!

To begin with I am just going to go with dtd every 2-3 days and see what happens. If after a few months nothing has though I can bet your bottom dollar I will be tempting and all sorts. Focusing on just enjoying it right now though :)

ibk1983 · 13/01/2015 23:11

Hi accidental dancer, not sure about birthday plans. Having turned 30 with no problem I got really down about turning 31 so am ignoring this one!! Birthday is a Fri and think OH may be planning a weekend somewhere... you?

Nice to see you again nightandthelight. I started doing temp when AF arrived just so I have some indication I actually ovulate after so long on the pill. I read a book called 'the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant' that convinced me I may as well. OH thinks I'm mad and is a strong supporter of the dtd-as-much-as-possible approach...!

BabyBumpHopeful · 14/01/2015 01:00

Seems I didn't finish my sentence about my friend...

I know she's not going to tell anyone but she's already mentioned how "weird" it is that I have a long cycle and she heard that it can mean infertility and I should start tracking ovulation etc etc.... yeah that's so what I, as someone who's just starting to TTC wanted to hear, the "i" word :S Ugh.

It did get me looking up stuff though and I think my 39 day cycle date on my app is wrong because it looks like it's normally 34 or so.. so I'm just going to leave the date I have in the stats and see how it goes.

ibk1983 I've guesstimated a month from now for your BFP date just to get excited :P

babybump my cycles were regularly 45 or 50 days for years. I conceived dd on the second month of trying on what would have been a 45 day cycle. I would ovulate about day 30. The only annoying thing was I gave my LMP to midwives and they kept trying to schedule things life scans two weeks early. I had to insist that I know when I ovulated. This was confirmed by the dating scan.
I also conceived first month of trying for second pregnancy although sadly miscarried.
Cycles seem to have gone down to about 35 days now. No idea why.
Anyway, just to say it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem!

mummyofonesofar · 14/01/2015 07:06

Babybumphopeful. I started tracking just because I am impatient. But I think it would be a few months until I thought about temping or ov sticks.

jss84 · 14/01/2015 08:27

Tessiegirl...how did you get on with preseed? I'm thinking of using it as I don't think I produce enough CM, but not sure it's worth it?

tessiegirl · 14/01/2015 09:35

jss I liked using preseed and using the applicators was easy. I was hoping for our first attempt at using it to be successful like so many of the reviews, but never mind! I'm also going to start taking Robitussin cough medicine around ovulation this cycle to try and improve CM...it has that active ingredient Guaifenesin in it...so fx!

Not sure whether to follow SMEP again this cycle or just dtd eod and hope to hit ovulation day...

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 14/01/2015 11:15

Yes DH is tired. I've decided I will stop talking about it with him to relieve the pressure and not tell him when I'm fertile next month.

loopylou1984 · 14/01/2015 11:58

Tessie - re the robitussin cough medicine, does it matter which one? Chesty cough, dry coughs etc? X

Sparkly123 · 14/01/2015 12:55

Hi everyone! (Hello to those I already know from dec/jan buses!)
Jumped over from the Jan bus as AF arriving Tomor- had usual spotting and huge temp drop today so I'm out for This cycle! I get another shot at OV in Jan but BFP not due till Feb so thought I should come over here too!
Can I please be added to stats list?

Sparkly123, age 30, TTC#1, cycle 5, BFP due 10/11 feb

BabyBumpHopeful · 14/01/2015 13:39

Sparkly123 sorry AF is about the rear her head. welcome to the thread. will add you to the stats Smile Smile

Sparkly123 · 14/01/2015 14:01

Thanks Babybump I didn't manage to read back everything yet so if you are doing the stats- thanks so much! Flowers good luck to you this cycle!

Sammy its important to get cough medicine with Guaifenesin as the active ingredient. There are other brands available but Robitussin is a well known brand to use with this ingredient. Its the red chesty cough bottle you want - not the dry cough one as that has another active ingredient which has been linked to birth defects Confused

Welcome Annbag! Sorry to hear you had a rough time with DC1, hoping things go smoothly for you this time round.

mummyofonesofar · 14/01/2015 17:42

So lovely to see this thread filling up MNers are a great bunch. And anyone who hasn't read through the skankiest thread - you must do. It's hilarious!!!

QueenofKelsingra · 14/01/2015 18:08

checking in for the evening. DH and I are only crossing paths this evening as I'm off out, I'm trying to get my brain around having to DTD when I get home but I know I will be knackered! but I still have EWCM so I know we need to. I have a low sex drive normally so I find TTC hard from that point of view. DH however is enjoying the change!!

hello to the new recruits from the jan bus - sorry you're here but nice to see you - if you know what I mean! Grin

what is this preseed thing??

loopylou1984 · 14/01/2015 18:37

Thanks Tessie

Think I will give it a try if we're not lucky this cycle. I very rarely get ewcm so thinking that could be a problem for us. X

nightandthelight · 14/01/2015 19:15

Quick question ladies. When DH had said that we couldn't try till the summer in order to distract me I arranged a spa day with a friend which will be on the 7th Feb. That will be during my tww. Does anyone if know if the Jacuzzi etc will be safe?

If not is there I way I could explain it without saying we are TTC?

mummyofonesofar · 14/01/2015 19:34

I read something on jacuzzis recently. It's to do with the temperature of the pool and is even more dangerous during the tww. Some stories of miscarriages but lots of "well I was ok". If you're concerned then I would avoid.

But if you want to go in then keep it short. It's not like on nights out where you can say you aren't drinking due to antibiotics!!
