Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

Thanks Ibeka, think i have been hoping it would correct itself, which i doubt it will,

Purdey hope you get on ok at the dentist, Thanks for researching the spotting, just going to read it now, i normally have a 10 or 11 day Luteal Phase, i think the high vitamin b complex has delayed ovulation for two days which might be a good thing as the egg will hopefully be better!!, In an ideal world the b complex might even lengthen my luteal phase too, I got my first peak this morning on my cbfm, i have told OH to step up tonight and tomorrow, this will be the first month that i know we are trying the days leading unto ovulation as its my second month of using it, last month we had family staying, as before i was just going by app predictors on my phone

armani234 · 26/01/2015 14:46

Prudeybirdie - I don't mind should of come up with that one then I doubt no one would have that one!!

Austral - I know I have been trying for aprox 5 months know but have just sat on the side lines! Be nice to share all them experiences of the great mind tricks!! And no I am not the only one or going crazy! I think for all of them 5 months I've been pregnant and the our fav af turns up!

MrsOatmeal · 26/01/2015 14:49

This bus is very full hopefully that's a good sign. TTC #1, cycle 1, 6dpo I think but unsure of cycle length after coming off the pill. I already know this is going to drive me crazy!

Sweets27 · 26/01/2015 15:17

Hello ladies Smile

Just checking in. Hello MrsOatmeal and other new girls, and all the lovely girls from the Jan bus who've joined us - don't worry, we're quite nice and just a little bit crazy. It's a great bus to be on!

Purdey, sorry you were feeling down over the weekend - just to echo what the others have said, you are such a great, cheerful and immensely helpful person to have on this bus that for selfish reasons, I'd love you to stay! Trying to be helpful, though, do stay positive and don't lose hope just because you're worried about your age or whatever other factors. If anyone's switched on and educated enough to give themselves the best possible chance when ttc, it's you!

I'm 2 days into 2ww, and impatient already. It's gonna be a loooong fortnight... Not holding out much hope though, as DH and I DTD the night before my non-flashing smiley, and after that not until 3 days later. We'll see how it goes - but it's only month 1, at least...

tessiegirl · 26/01/2015 15:28

Welcome to all the new passengers, great to see you all!

So, I got a strong positive on internet cheapy opk earlier so should get first peak tomorrow on Clearblue then ovulate on Wednesday on second peak day...all systems go...if we aim to dtd tomorrow morning (1st peak day) then again on Wednesday morning (2nd peak day) do you all think that would be good timing?!!!!!!! Confused

Sparkly or anyone else who may know the answer - just wondering, when you do AI does your DH ejaculate into a cup then you suck it up with a syringe? From when he 'provides his sample' to using the syringe do you need to wait a certain amount of time inbetween? I have just been reading that you should let it liquefy for 10-15 mins before you suck it up with syringe?! Anyone know if you have to do this?! Thank you! Grin

whoknew28 · 26/01/2015 15:32

Austral - I also love/hate OPKs. Before my MMC last year I used to ov like clockwork on CD16, so only tested for ov from CD14 - had two days of faint lines then a big fat dark line for one or to days.

But now, in the joyous world of post MC head-fuckery, (apols but really, it is) my cycles aren't v reliable anymore, so the longest I've tested was for 12 days with no/faint lines, and in the two months post MC didn't get a positive at all (gave up in the end). Last month I didn't use them, as it was just hugely doing my head in, but now I'm back on the little buggers. I've been peeing for 3 days now and only faint lines (am on CD13), fingers crossed for later this week...

Are you going to carry on? So frustrating sometimes though, really feel your pain! Confused

PurdeyBirdie · 26/01/2015 15:36

Austral, it is very, very easy to miss the LH surge if you are only testing once a day and at the same time. I know we have seen a couple of instances lately of ladies seeing positives for two days running but, honestly, that isn't the norm. The best times of day to test (doing it twice) are 11am and 3pm, although any time up to 8pm is okay. Using opks first thing in the morning with fmu is a complete no-no and leads to many a false positive. This is because luteinising hormone is synthesised overnight and therefore will always produce a 'positive' first thing.

I am sure that you will have more luck testing twice (if not three times) a day to begin with. After a while you will begin to know from which day of the cycle to start testing, so as not to waste cash on millions of sticks.

accidentaldancer · 26/01/2015 15:46

Hello,

The bus is travelling so fast! Finding it hard to keep up but I am learning so much - thank you in particular to "Purdey*

Huge temp rise this morning which was good to see so now officially in the tww. Thinking about lots of things to distract me for the next two weeks, fortunately going away for the next two weekends so that should help! :)

Really excited to see what February will bring and can't believe how many of us will be testing on the 8 Feb!

PurdeyBirdie · 26/01/2015 15:49

Rainy, thanks, I love the dentist any opportunity for a lie-down and it was a treat registering my baby now she has two front teeth Grin

Welcome, MrsOat Smile

Sweets! You are indeed the sweetest thing ever. Thank you for being so kindly and for encouraging me. I promise not to give up hope Thanks

Tessie, that is fabulous timing, it really is. Yes to letting the spunk spermz liquefy, although, in saying that, I have read lots of couples don't bother and just lob it up the vagina as soon as. I think there are no scientific reasons for allowing the sperm to liquefy other than it is easier to draw into the syringe. Sometimes semen can take on a horribly snotty, thick texture and this would be tricky to draw up.

I've read that the man should avoid ejaculating into a glass, although that sounds absurd to me. How does sperm know which medium it has been splatted into? Hmm

ibeka · 26/01/2015 15:51

austral I had about 5/6 days of faint lines then my freak-of-nature two days of positive. I got through ten OPKs in total!

To all newbies welcome aboard and a special welcome to mrs oatmeal from a fellow cycle 1, TTC #1!

tessiegirl · 26/01/2015 16:01

Thanks Purdey - how long should I let the sperm liquefy for?! I read somewhere yesterday that the sperm die as soon as they hit air but that can't be right, can it? Especially as tons of couple get their bfps through sperm samples being sucked up from container to syringe...

tessiegirl · 26/01/2015 16:09

Just found answer to my own question...fab Grin

browneyedgirl86 · 26/01/2015 16:20

Hi everyone,

I'm here off and on it feels! In the dreaded 2 week wait. Had sinusitis so not been the most productive time in terms of dtd. But maybe will be lucky. Wishing everyone else good luck!!

Riceicle1 · 26/01/2015 16:25

night no probs when I had the coil removed! cycles stayed pretty similar. But hormones have been all over the place. I went back to the docs just to check it was the copper and not mirena because I have had sore boobs, evil moods, nausea (convinced I have been pregnant every cycle, but BFN) my last AF was only two days long though, which has never happened before (still BFN) spoke to the doc about my age, she was very dismissive and said that if I had no period and no pregnancy for 6 months, they would test my hormone levels ( my mom went onto HRT at 39)
Been doing lots of BDing (husband is worn out!) Grin so fingers crossed for poas day Smile

Rainy34 · 26/01/2015 16:37

So annoyed, we totally missed our fertile week last month as OH f*ing family were staying over christmas and he did not want to dtd, so by the time we did it I'm pretty sure i had missed the gap

So i get my first peak today on cbfm and OH says he has had a stressful day and does not feel well and that we can dtd tomorrow, i told him not to bother,we are never going to get pregnant at this rate, so annoyed

sorry rant over!!

KnitFastDieWarm · 26/01/2015 16:41

I have another newbie question - how soon after your period should you start DTD? Realistically DH and I can't do every other day due to him working away, etc, so I'm worried about missing the critical moment! If we did every 3 days from about CD 7 to CD20? (my cycle is 27 days) does that sound ok?

PurdeyBirdie · 26/01/2015 16:51

Knit, it depends on how much you like sex and whether you would rather be sat on the couch with a 200g bar of Dairy Milk instead of rutting like desperate wild pigs. I would choose chocolate over sex any day of the week and frequently do but the simple answer (if you are getting a little jaded doing the jiggy) is to use opks. Then you know exactly when to rock the caravan. If you're happy having sex EOD from day 7-20 (and, personally, I feel ill just thinking about that) then I suggest you are on the wrong thread - the 'Annoying Women With High Sex Drives Still Enjoying Quality Sex' thread is over there Grin

PurdeyBirdie · 26/01/2015 16:57

Tessie, there is no danger of sperm dying when it hits the air. Remember that IVF clinics will wait a whole hour before testing a sample and men have to drive to clinics with their sample under their missus' armpit. True dat.

Rainy, you sound furious about the lost opportunity for baby-making at Christmas. I would be mad, too, although I would have forced my in-laws to watch whilst wearing 3D specs and throwing popcorn at DH's ball bag.

PurdeyBirdie · 26/01/2015 16:59

Should I start a new thread or would that be forward of me? Grin

mummyofonesofar · 26/01/2015 17:05

I think we need to. Feel free Smile

CoffeeTwo · 26/01/2015 17:06

Please do Purdey, 40 pages already! Hopefully we'll see lots of bfps on thread 2! :)
