Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

By the way, did you know that if you don't get much ewcm (and don't have pre seed) you can use, ahem.....actual egg whites as a sperm friendly lubricant?

ConceptionZilla · 23/01/2015 10:23

sweets thinking about it I think my CM is pretty dependent on my health and diet. It has varied quite a bit between cycles recently but I've been sick and took the odd lemsip which dried it up, and changed vitamins too. I spend a lot of my time checking my CM, it's truly gross, what happened to me?!

Oh and incase you didn't know HairStylisttoBoris and I are the same person but with a split personality and name change issues.

ConceptionZilla · 23/01/2015 10:24

dizzy no way!

WinterBabyof89 · 23/01/2015 10:27

Thanks sweets - she would have been 6 months old this Sunday so was hoping for a bfp.. Little bit of hope.. However, there is always next month.. Smile

Fx crossed for everybody this month - sweets, your EWCM sounds good (a sentence I have never said to another, ever!) haha xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 10:27

Same here same here conceptionzilla

I'm so glad it's not just me lol.

What's with the two usernames, trying to keep us all on our toes? Wink

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 10:29

Yes! According to Toni weschler you can use egg whites because it's make up is the same as ewcm, so super swimmer friendly Smile

Sweets27 · 23/01/2015 10:30

Ha, thanks winterbaby. Nice to have good-sounding EWCM... I think?!

Dizzy I am so disturbed by that suggestion. Actual egg in your.... ?!

ConceptionZilla how come two usernames?

mummyofonesofar · 23/01/2015 10:38

Dizzy I read that on a FF article. Very odd - not sure if want to do that.

Ps to you Northerner living darn South - I am a Southerner living oop North!

Cardabelle · 23/01/2015 10:38

TakesTwo I hadn't considered having OPKs posted here but yeah, I'll look into it! The post service is notiriously unreliable, about 1 in 3 things go missing so usually I ask friends visiting, or friends of friends, to bring anything along... not an option for such personal items! How big a package would it be? Can anyone recommend a supplier that sends internationally in plain envelopes (I have to pick up parcels from a very public place).

Dizzy wow, sorry to hear about you and DP's crazy ships-in-the-night schedules. How frustrating... Hope you manage to cross paths in the critical period...

Sweets thanks yes, BFP would be an awesome birthday pressie!

IF anyone does read this who knows about ferning, I was wondering what the affect is if you do it later in the day? risk of false negatives only, or also risk of false positives?

And more broadly, why do ALL the things you measure require precise action first thing in the morning before coffee? Whether it's fumbling with a thermometer you forgot to shake the night before and you don't want to wake DP as you're pretending you're not seriously charting, or stumbling to the bathroom with a little pot to piss in when it's probably still a weeek before POAS time, or collecting a puddle of saliva to scrutinise... by which time the tender moment for early morning cuddles that might lead to dtd passes and DP has got up?

mummyofonesofar · 23/01/2015 10:38

Ooh and welcome newcomers! Bus moving very fast now Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 10:40

Yeah I know sweets, luckily I get a decent amount of ewcm so I can't vouch for how well it works!

winter sorry to hear about your dd. fx for a bfp very soon x

ConceptionZilla · 23/01/2015 10:40

I tried to name change to avoid DH or friends knowing the more intimate and personal obsessive details of my ttc journey, incase anyone can work out who I am from my random posting history. I have vague paranoia.

It puts pressure on DH to perform when I am at my most fertile and that's not good for him. He knows I use MN a lot to get support for issues with DSC and their crazy bitch mother (another set of personal posts I don't need connecting to me I RL esp as crazy bitch is on here too). So I don't want him / crazy bitch working out who I am on here from reading thoes posts.

Anyway because I am stupid the name changing between this board and another failed one time and I ended up sticking with these two identities on these threads. I use a different name again on the rest of MN, when I remember to change. Sorry to confuse. I tend to type and post before checking which split personality I'm appearing as. Hope that makes some sense?

ConceptionZilla · 23/01/2015 10:47

cardabelle I buy opks off amazon, they are discrete in packaging, come in a little grey bag which doesn't look worth stealing (unlike nice brown amazon labeled boxes)

WinterBabyof89 · 23/01/2015 10:49

conception - def right to name change.. It's easy to forget that anybody can read what you're writing & piece it all together..

I was on a pregnancy forum whilst pregnant with my last & when we all had our bfps & had joined our month due date group we then created a private Facebook group.. Worked well for us.. Might be something I try to do again when I finally get bfp Smile

dizzy thank you xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 10:55

Makes sense conceptionzilla, I sometimes get paranoid too but then I suppose the only people likely to find me on these boards are ttc themselves so probably don't want to blow their own covers either.

mummy hope you like it up there! I must say I much prefer the warmer climes down here, I'm originally from the far north of England where the skies are pretty much always grey! Now in the Home Counties area and the sun always seems to be shining in comparison but I do miss it up north.

cardabelle opks are best done later in the day! You must try and get some!

mummyofonesofar · 23/01/2015 10:59

dizzy I do enjoy it but I am far north so know what you mean! Very grey. Get so jealous when I ring "home" and everyone is hanging their washing outside and enjoying a beer in the garden!

Though they were all jealous of my pictures playing in the snow with DS at the weekend when they haven't had any yet!

australopithecus · 23/01/2015 10:59

Actual egg whites? Does this mean that if you shag hard enough the heat will turn it into an omelette in your fanjo? Not very sperm friendly then, I would hazard, but on the plus side you wouldn't need to leave bed to have breakfast after a morning quickie. Grin

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 11:00

Anyway, must leave you ladies for now and get myself moving, still in pjs and got a fridge to stock for the weekend....

Sweets27 · 23/01/2015 11:03

ewww, fanjo omelette!

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 11:04

Lol austral!

Yeah we've barely had a flake of snow here mummy, glad you've been making the most of it!

Now I'm really going lol

WinterBabyof89 · 23/01/2015 11:10

Dizzy - jealous of the slightly warmer climate.. I'm in the NW and it's pretty bleak here most of the time.. Would love to be a couple of degrees warmer!

Last time I used opks I had the clearblue smiley one.. should I just but the cheap internet ones if they're just as good? Does anybody prefer one over the other..

Also how easy is charting temps? Any advice welcome, especially on the temps as I have no clue

PurdeyBirdie · 23/01/2015 11:57

Winter, I am sorry for your tragic loss. I wish you great joy and a bfp soon Thanks

EWCM has to stretch to at least an inch between thumb and forefinger and be translucent if it is to be classed as proper egg white mucus. Anything translucent and non-stretchy is simply 'watery' mucus (but still fertile stuff). A whitish creamy lotion type stuff is classed as 'creamy' and is not a signal of imminent ovulation.

Im CD1 today and have left a rather abrupt and huffy voicemail with the clinic to demand this fourth Clomid cycle is monitored with a scan on CD16 and a blood test at 7dpo to verify ovulation happened

PurdeyBirdie · 23/01/2015 11:59

*sorry, meant to say 'creamy' discharge is not indicative you are in the fertile window; you can have it all through your cycle on-and-off.

CookieDough9 · 23/01/2015 12:56

So sorry for your loss winterFlowers. Fx for your bfp.

CD4 here so nothing exciting going on! On the upside I have had no period pain and 'normal' bleeding. Interesting about maca root. Have had looked up info and from what I have read it is also beneficial for endo so will try getting some tomorrow.

Thanks mummy - it was a blessing to have conceived naturally with DD as I remember walking out of the IVF clinic deflated and ready to give up.

Fx for everyone waiting for bfps and sorry to those who have been rudely greeted by AF but chin up for next cycle. Congrats to everyone who have got their bfp

jss84 · 23/01/2015 13:13

Thanks ibeka and dizzy...have been DTD EOD for a week now anyway, so will just carry on with that! Though it is getting quite tiring...i hope I haven't peaked too soon!
