Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

kissing hahaha. I can't wait to see the film.

Temping experts - What should I be looking out for? Is it when it goes higher or lower that's the signal to get cracking? I also think I may have a bust thermometer as my temperature is apparently 35degrees so technically I think I'm dead.

crazypuglady · 22/01/2015 20:37

I've been temping all cycle. Not able to do the same time every day as I work shifts but been pretty good at doing it within a few minutes of waking up. Finally reach my fertile period and come down with the lurgy. No sleep for the last two nights and temps are all over the place so unless I get an obvious temp rise tomorrow (due to ov either yesterday or today) I still have no idea whether I am oving or not. Why can't this just be simple?

mummyofonesofar · 22/01/2015 20:44

Twinkle no expert but have done a lot of reading since decided to temp. It is only good for telling you when you have already ovulated, not when you're about to.

The temp will rise the day after you ovulate and as the egg only lasts 12-24 hours you would have missed your window.

After a few cycles you see when you ovulate and can plan DTD around then.

PurdeyBirdie · 22/01/2015 21:33

mummyofone is spot on. Opks will tell you when to start well-timed rutting though.

browneyedgirl86 · 22/01/2015 21:34

Hey everyone

I'm on CD18, DP and I have been like ships in the night this week due to him being on nights and me on earlies so only one day of trying. And tomorrow as we have the day off, but I think I've missed the window Sad

May be on the March bus!

daisyspice · 23/01/2015 00:00

Hi quietly taking a pew

Daisy spice 28 TTC#1 cycle 2 bpn due approx 9th feb no idea what my cycle is up to so I'm winging it by the seat of my pants Wink

BabyBumpHopeful · 23/01/2015 00:41

Checking in!

Still symptom spotting like mag. DH and I slept in different rooms last night to try and catch up on sleep.. felt SO much better this morning!

Hope everyone is doing well. Very jealous of the ski trip!

MaMaPo · 23/01/2015 02:28

Also, just a word for those starting out and trying to use OPKs. I never got a single positive when I used some internet-bought ones. Don't know if it was a dud pack or what but it was completely unhelpful.

I find temping useful because it gives me some peace of mind, even if that happens after ovulation. I'm not very strict with it - I don't set an alarm, I have a toddler for that - so I just take the pattern with a little pinch of salt. If you start building up a few cycles you can usually start to predict your fertile days as the days preceding the temp rise.

Sweets27 · 23/01/2015 06:20

Morning everyone! Just got my first ever non-flashing smiley after dtd last night Grin here's to a weekend of dtd much more!

Welcome daisy Smile

browneyedgirl, really sorry to hear that about you and your DP - so frustrating, but you never know, that one time might be the magic time!

Hello babybump, glad you managed a good night's sleep Smile

Rainy34 · 23/01/2015 07:01

Morning ladies after worrying about cbfm machine, i have got my first high, been taking high strength vitamin b complex and i am wondering if it is delaying ovulation for a few days, taking it to balance my hormones hopefully it will help

nightandthelight · 23/01/2015 07:38

Hello ladies. Today I am upping my game and wearing white lacy matching undies! I am also going to pick up a test on the way home from work and will do it tomorrow morning. Anyone want to make bets on when AF will arrive?

HairstylisttoBoris · 23/01/2015 07:58

Well I've entered my fertile phase, loads of ewcm. But DH and I argued last night and are not speaking. Operation shaggathon is on hold. Does anyone else think this happens more when desperately ttc? It feels to me like our problems are magnified when I'm at most fertile, we argue so much more it seems. Bah.

mummyofonesofar · 23/01/2015 08:07

Another one on pant watch here.....

ninjabeer · 23/01/2015 08:10

Hi boris I know exactly what you mean, I always get a bit feisty during ov. I don't quite know why this happens but it seems a bit unfair that when we're at our most fertile I turn into banshee. Now I'm more in tune with my cycle I try and be a bit more patient but it doesnt always work!

nightandthelight · 23/01/2015 08:17

Good luck mummy!

UltimateDuck · 23/01/2015 08:36

Firmly stuck in the TWW. No symptoms. Bored.

Hope AF shows up for those waiting. Maybe throw all your tampons away to invoke law of sod?!

nightandthelight · 23/01/2015 08:39

Did consider not putting any in my handbag today but thought that was a bit risky as am in work!

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 08:58

Reckless is the way forward for you night! If it isn't here by tomorrow, do your test, wear your best undies, leave tampax and painkillers out of handbag, ooh and plan on going out for a run! My running plans always get ruined by the arrival of AF, it seems to sap away all my stamina!

No symptoms here either ultimate, at the beginning of the week I'd convinced myself that I had a 'weird' sensation in my uterus, but realistically I propably get that every month but don't pay attention to it. This seems to have gone now anyway probably just constipated

I actually don't even know at what stage we would expect to see any symptoms though? After AF?

Cardabelle · 23/01/2015 09:04

Hi ladies - hopping on this bus after first proper AF since mirena removal bumped me off the Jan bus.
Stats: Cardabelle - 35 TTC#1 Cycle 1/2 CD5. AF/BFP due who knows when! - last 2 cycles 21 days then 35 so body still clearly settling in. but it's my birthday on 14th so pretty sure I'll test then regardless.

This month is going to be tricky as I'm away for a few days at the critical time but fx, it only takes one. First month temping so we'll see how that goes. Also - since OPKs not an option (I live abroad) I'm going to try and watch for saliva ferning with digi microscope. Anyone any experience with ferning?

nightandthelight · 23/01/2015 09:04

Thanks Dizzy. Am going for a run this evening and DTD last night (usually if AF is on its way it chooses the time half way through DTD to arrive resulting in a rush to the loo). Doing the test tomorrow morning (am I correct in believing they aren't as accurate in the evenings?). Also going to to the cinema tomorrow so won't take any supplies and will wear the most impractical underwear I have! If this doesn't do it I actually give up :(

TakesTwoToTango · 23/01/2015 09:09

Morning all! I'm chuckling at all the plots to leave the tampax behind today. Good luck to all those symptom spotting or waiting for AF.

CD16 here and got a non-flashing smiley this morning despite not having had any flashing ones at all this month Confused. Ah well, what will be will be. Hope DH is in a good mood tonight Wink

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 09:11

Ha ha that's defo another one to try, if I even dare to think about dtd when AF is due it always arrives, usually within a few hours!

Not sure about the tests in the evening. I'm sure Dr purdey will know if she's around....Smile

nightandthelight · 23/01/2015 09:14

Is purdey actually a Dr? Cue a torrent of medical enquiries :P

TakesTwoToTango · 23/01/2015 09:16

night you're right, they are more accurate with fmu.

Welcome cardabelle. No experience with ferning I'm afraid. Are you sure opks are not an option? You can get them on amazon delivered to lots of countries.

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/01/2015 09:18

takestwo fx for you, maybe get some beers in for him? hopefully he'll have that Friday feeling! Smile

cardabelle welcome aboard, I know how frustrating it is when life gets in the way of fertile window, my DP and I sometimes go for days without seeing each other when I work late shifts and so far it always seems to fall during fertile week argh! Luckily this month I think I might have ov'd early. im hoping its fate Smile. Fx for you
