Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

First of all happy birthday beautician! Secondly really sorry about your DH's decision. I remember how awful I felt in December when DH said he didn't want to go ahead, had a month of being absolutely miserable so am very sympathetic to how you must be feeling. Massive hugs to you, as it's your birthday might I suggest lots of Cake and Wine

diamondsparkles · 21/01/2015 08:01

Morning! Thanks for the lovely welcome Smile! AF not showed up yet but negative on a superdrug so still think I'm out and body playing tricks on me Sad.
Baby bump - when AF does show today my BFP due date should be 18th feb

TakesTwoToTango · 21/01/2015 09:02

Can I join you ladies? Was going to hold off TTC this month to lose a bit more weight but I'm impatient so we've decided to go for it Grin

Am TTC %233 AF due 5 feb

TakesTwoToTango · 21/01/2015 09:03

Don't know what harmed there - that should be dc3! First cycle.

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/01/2015 09:08

Morning everyone!

sweets fx for us both!

conceptionzilla you don't have to apologise for being a southerner, it's not your fault Wink ha ha. I Live down south too hence my username, everone knows me as 'the northern one' lol.

jss I though four hours sounded a bit odd! I'm pretty sure though that you don't need to hold on at all...someone else mentioned it on these threads but it's about not diluting urine, so in my mind getting rid of what's in there and then not drinking for a couple of hours should make the wee more concentrated?

Anyway, must catch up with what's been going on this morning!

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/01/2015 09:19

Welcome to all the newbies & those arriving from jan bus!

Oh and sweets congrats on the opk!

night, any sign of AF yet?

beautician, sorry to hear your news. The law of sod will now kick in and You'll probably get pg immediately when you aren't even trying! Happy birthday!

sammy/ibk, where did you read about holding on before testing just out of interest? It doesn't mention it on the instructions for mine so I need to know whether I'm giving out dud advice!

QueenofKelsingra · 21/01/2015 09:23

beautician sorry to hear your DH has had a change of heart Sad hope you manage to have a good birthday though.

takestwo I am doing 5:2 while we ttc in the hope of shifting a bit, I'm half a stone down so that's a start! then hoping morning sickness will help with the weight loss!!

so I think I'm 4dpo, or possibly 5,not quite sure but I don't feel in any way pregnant, no slight twinges or anything thus far. so we shall see. DH has now come down with a horrible cold, such a sympathetic wife I am, I'm just sitting here thinking 'thank god it wasn't last week'!! [bad wife]

59sound · 21/01/2015 09:25

Happy birthday beautician! Hope you are feeling ok Flowers.

CD2 for me, yawn... Just want to crack on now!

nightandthelight · 21/01/2015 09:51

Hi Dizzy no sign of AF :( fx for today! Am thinking of ways I could invoke the law of sod. Buy some white trousers perhaps?

loopylou1984 · 21/01/2015 09:51

Dizzy - I only heard it on another mumsnet thread. My instructions don't say it either and as I say they've been working for me without doing that anyway! Smile

kissinggiraffe · 21/01/2015 10:29

beautician happy birthday. I hope you manage to have a nice day. So sorry you're oh has had a change of heart. It's so hard. Maybe he will change back? It's a stressful time of year and he might feel better about it when all the Christmas crazy has settled down Flowers

I am shocked that so many of you tell your OH's the ins and outs of ttc! My oh is clueless. He would definitely not cope with the pressure of such a tiny fertile window. I don't temp, use opks etc as I would be too afraid he'd find out and have a breakdown Grin

So I wanted to start dtd today, cd 7 but af is still very slightly lingering. Maybe it will have done one by this evening. Maybe we should just do it regardless!!

mummyofonesofar · 21/01/2015 10:32

night White trousers and some brand new knickers. I have that dull ache waiting for AF now, our POAS days could sync at this rate!

Welcome takestwo another early Feb BFP, exciting!

nightandthelight · 21/01/2015 10:44

Yes think I need to find my fancy lacy hand wash only lingerie, that's bound to bring AF on! Would be lovely to have a POAS buddy though :) when would your bfp be due?

TakesTwoToTango · 21/01/2015 10:47

Well done on the weight loss Queen! I have never tried 5:2 do you find it works well? for the moment I'm trying to 'eat clean', make lower fat/sugar choices and exercise more. I'm 10lbs down so far and hope I could keep it up even if I get my BFP this cycle, but who knows what impact the sickness etc may have. Oh well, great if I get one and if I don't this month then that's another month of weight loss and body-prep to get me in better shape for carrying a healthy bean, so it's win-win Smile

Happy birthday beautician, sorry to hear your DH has changed his mind.

Hello to everyone else!

mummyofonesofar · 21/01/2015 11:03

night Mine is 19/02, but DP birthday is 20th so going to wait til then to POAS if I can. But my cycles can vary, I average 27 days but in the last 6 months I have had shortest of 26 and longest of 30 days. I am hoping with temping I should have a good idea in a couple of months time how long my LP lasts. Anyway we should come in about the same time Smile

nightandthelight · 21/01/2015 11:11

That would be a lovely birthday present :) once AF arrives will be able to confirm bfp date!

Sweets27 · 21/01/2015 11:22

Fx night for AF to appear soon!

Giraffe, I know what you mean about risk of your OH freaking out about the tiny fertile window - I wasn't going to tell mine (he was pretty clueless about ins & outs of ovulation/conception), but he was just so positive and absolutely convinced that he'd get me pregnant first time we DTD after me coming off the pill! I was worried he'd be really disheartened if it didn't happen straight away, so I had to warn him that it can take at least a few months because the window is quite short...

tessiegirl · 21/01/2015 11:23

Morning all!

CD9 here....really need to start dtd eod....

Welcome to the newbies and good luck!

Sorry about your DH decision beautician. Happy Birthday Flowers

PurdeyBirdie · 21/01/2015 11:24

Aaargh! Where's me mates?! Where's me mates?!

mummyofonesofar · 21/01/2015 11:30

Purdey We are all friends here, you'll get along fine. I see you are popping along from the jan bus? Have been stalking reading the Jan posts as love seeing all the BFP coming in. Looks like it was a really positive bus. Fx this one is too Smile - Hi!

HairStylisttoBoris · 21/01/2015 11:31

Morning purdey how's tricks? I'm on CD6, heading into my fertile window... Watch out DH here I come :)
beautician happy birthday and hope you are doing ok Flowers

tessiegirl · 21/01/2015 11:49

Hello and welcome Purdey! Don't be shy! I don't believe it! Grin
I have also been following the Jan bus since I got booted off it so have been reading your posts and you absolutely crack me up, I also admire all your fantastic knowledge! Thank you!

ibeka · 21/01/2015 12:55

Hello all, have changed my name due to paranoia about oh/family/friends spotting my posts...

Feeling really rotten today - exhausted. Maybe hormones or maybe all this BDing!!

Happy birthday beautician. Sorry to hear about OH's decision. I had several months of OH flitting between wanting and not wanting to TTC and know it's horrible to keep getting excited then hopes dashed.

Welcome purdey.

queen, v impressed by your weightless. I lost a stone last spring/summer by joining a fitness boot camp and going weekly/twice weekly. Began to feel great then broke my foot in the summer and weight and pissed-off-ness has mounted since then.

Former IBK.

ibeka · 21/01/2015 12:57

Ps sweets and queen I told OH about fertile window etc. as he was so convinced he'd knock me up the second I stopped taking the pill. He needed a reality check!!

QueenofKelsingra · 21/01/2015 13:34

thanks takestwo and ibeka. I find 5:2 easier as there is no counting, totally relaxed on the '5' days which actually means less binging and I just don't start eating on the '2' days! much better than counting calories! plus if I do fall off the waggon one day it hasn't spoilt it for the whole week as with most diets. I'm trying to do more walking to up my exercise but its hard with 3DC, 2 who are home all day!

Hello new joiners! [wave]

DH knows from our first DC that the window is limited and so far has been very obliging with my schedule! I do try to make sure there are one or two dtd during the tww so he doesn't feel I only want him for his baby making skills! I have made a conscious effort to not make it overtly 'right, I need a sperm shot' but make sure I make it feel as natural and normal as I can, aided by watching something like The Tudors or Game of Thrones which has a fair bit of sex in which tends to get us in the mood! I think only once was a 'duty' as I woke DH up at midnight when I got home but it was because the EWCM had stopped so wanted to make sure we didn't miss OV!!

still no signs of anything. I promised myself I wasn't going to symptom spot and now I'm pissed off that I have no symptoms to tell myself off for spotting!!

anyone OPKing and can give me a brief run down of what you do?
