Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

hair Im taking the Seven Seas and so far not had any problems.

babybump keep us posted! This sounds very promising!

rainy I saw you mentioned in the January bus thread about early spotting before period. I've always had this in the 2-3 days before (brown - yuck). I think I read somewhere that you don't start counting CD1 until proper blood but I wonder what that spotting is all about and whether that means your LP is shorter. I ovulate I think around CD16 and have a 28 day cycle so if 3 days of spotting that means 9 day LP. Any thoughts /advice much appreciated Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2015 00:10

twinkle/rainy I have just been reading about spotting this evening in my fertility book. I think it does say that it indicates shorter LP? I'll check in the morning and let you know if you like. It does also give advice on remedies for this issue. I also get the spotting before AF starts to its probably a good idea for me to check anyway, although I think my LP has been around 12 days recently.

hair I also am using seven seas, ive experienced nausea with them a couple of times but only if taken on an empty stomach. They're also giving me new sypmtoms throughout the month but I'm hoping this is a good thing!

BabyBumpHopeful · 20/01/2015 02:04

Pretty sure I have seats for all the new people (welcome!) so the updated seating list is attached :D

Anyone due February 2 or prior is in their 2WW now!! :)

DH and I are still DTD EOD. I haven't really told him about my suspicion, mostly because if I'm wrong and it's really just late ovulation (though the cramping was in the wrong spot for that I think) I don't want him to think we should stop DTD but also because I could be crazy and you ladies understand whereas he may not!!

Morning all! I'm in 2ww - 3 dpo I think, but ff yet to confirm, had 2 high temps the last 2 days though. X

Sweets27 · 20/01/2015 07:13

Babybump thanks for doing all the stats lists! Smile And good luck keeping your suspicions secret, fx for bfp in the end.

sammylou fx for you too!

I've had another negative opk this morning and am fed up. C'mon, hormones, sort yourselves out and make me ovulate!!

mummyofonesofar · 20/01/2015 09:07

Millie & Country we have got a long wait ahead! CD25 here, patiently waiting for the arrival of AF. How are you both holding up with the waiting to start game?

Twinkletoes007 · 20/01/2015 09:26

dizzy thanks. That would be great xx

nightandthelight · 20/01/2015 09:31

I think I will be joining you later in the month mummy, still no sign of AF :(

mummyofonesofar · 20/01/2015 09:49

night oh no! You don't think you have managed to get pg before first proper cycle off contraception? I can't remember - have you been temping, do you know if you have ovulated? Are you tempted to POAS? I am going to try and hold off from POAS until 20th Feb as I think seeing AF might be nicer than getting a BFN. You are more than welcome to sit at the back end of the bus with us, watching everyone else get their BFP. Fx this is a lucky bus!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2015 09:56

Hi twinkle, ok it seems what I read is going to be most useful if you are temping. Basically it says that the spotting can be considered normal if it comes after 10 consecutive days of high temps (so this would mean 10 days post ov). Otherwise it can mean premature shedding of the uterine lining. As you said, cd1 is the first day you see full AF.
The advice provided is that if the spotting lasts a number of days you should see your gp to rule out a number of conditions as it can indicate an insufficient luteal phase. There are a number of remedies but they're all things which you would get from gp, creams, suppositories, injections & clomid etc.

I'm not sure if the above is of any help to you. Do you temp? Im thinking of starting next cycle if I'm unsuccessful this time around as it looks like the only way to know for sure if ovulation is happening or if there's any issues.

Twinkletoes007 · 20/01/2015 10:09

Thanks dizzy. That's so helpful. I started temping yesterday so will hopefully get an idea of what is going on soon. Arghhh there is so much to think about. Can't believe I've spent the last however many years stressing about getting pregnant! Thanks again.

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2015 10:16

I know it's crazy isn't it?!

I'm also thinking about temping for next month to avoid another situation with DP where we are potentially doing it on the wrong days and then he decides on the right days that he can't be bothered! I doubt he'll be supportive given his 'chill out babe, whatever will be will be' attitude but he can't have it both ways!

I've also just read about taking vit B6 to help improve LP but that's been mentioned a few times on these threads.

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2015 10:25

I'm actually thinking I've got the opposite situation this month.

If opk is to be believed then I got my positive on cd16 so ov would have happened cd17 or 18 at the latest? Ovia originally predicted ov around cd22 I think. I'm still testing and getting negs, which makes me think the stick was right on cd16.

Anyway so my cycles are 35 days on average. Which would give me a LP this month of around 15 days but previous months (although I wasnt testing properly then) were on average 11 or 12 days - so this month it's too long?

I'm hoping this isn't a sign ov hasn't happened. If ov did happen & was on cd 17 I should be well covered as we dtd on cd 14, cd15, and cd17 itself.

Argh this is so confusing! Deffo buying a bbt thermometer if this month fails! I said I wouldn't stress about all this Confused

nightandthelight · 20/01/2015 10:38

I wish mummy but it's very unlikely! I don't chart or anything and just assume that I ov as I get AF each month (realise that this is no guarantee). If I assume 14 days before AF due then ov would have been around 5-6 Jan. Didn't get coil out till 12th.

Only way it would be poss is if coil failed to prevent fertilisation which I think is rare. More likely that AF is being a b! All the medical sites say that copper coil should not affect cycle but anecdotal evidence suggests it can.

Haven't POAS but might have to at the weekend just to eliminate it as an option but would definitely prefer AF to BFN! Still hopeful it will arrive today :)

jss84 · 20/01/2015 10:50

Is anyone else struggling to so a four hour hold before doing an OPK?! Do you think it affects the results much if it's just two hours?

Sweets27 · 20/01/2015 10:50

Dizzy, I can sympathise with the scenario where you're DTD on the wrong days and then DP/DH can't be bothered by the time the right days come around! I thought I was ovulating over the weekend but OPKs think otherwise, and his excitement about TTC seems to be waning now that he "needs a break"... rubbish!

QueenofKelsingra · 20/01/2015 10:58

is there a minimum length LP needed for a successful implantation then?

Sweets27 · 20/01/2015 11:00

I don't think so Queen, I guess you just get more of an opportunity to conceive if you have a longer LP?

jss84 · 20/01/2015 11:05

I read that the minimum is 10days, average is 14 days and anywhere between 10 and 17 is normal.

nightandthelight · 20/01/2015 11:10

TMI alert! Starting to go crazy. Pants felt damp so raced to loo with fingers crossed for AF but it was CM. Now desperately trying to rack my brain as to whether or not this is a usual pre AF symptom. Problem is until this month I didn't pay much attention. Only noticed boobs and bloating because they usually make me feel miserable.

mummyofonesofar · 20/01/2015 11:19

night Maybe having the coil out changed your hormones and you are ovulating a week after having coil out? If CM rather than AF, I would be DTD as much as poss just incase! Unless you want to hold out so you know what your cycle is actually like once it gets back to normal next month.

Bloating has definitely hit me this month, look be mistaken for being a few months gone TBH! Blush Must try to lose some weight in the next month I think! Maybe it will distract me from counting and recounting dates and symptom spotting...

nightandthelight · 20/01/2015 11:24

Can't do any harm to pounce on DH tonight! Hope you are right mummy :)

Weight loss wise you should def start the 10k app. When I am running I am not thinking about TTC!

ConceptionZilla · 20/01/2015 11:25

jss84 I don't religiously wait 4 hours before taking an opk, I find I can get a result with out sticking completely to the instructions. If I have a drink or a wee a few hours before I still get reasonably clear results. I also test late in the day and still get a reading. The only opk testing rule I do abide by is not using FMU. Good luck :)

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2015 11:26

night feeling wet is a sign AF is coming! I always have the same mad rush in the days before!

jss what sticks are you using? Mine say to reduce fluid intake from 2 hours before but they don't say anything about not going to the loo in the hours before. 4 hours is a long time to hold on especially in these days of being advised to drink 2ltrs a day!

sweets I hope your DH comes around soon....have you tried talking to him? It worked for me, DP was being really defensive and I think his sudden change of heart came because I'd said to him that I never thought dtd every day would be an issue because he's usually super horny! That comment must have played on his mind because literally an hour later was when he suddenly decided it was time to dtd and he's been fine ever since!

nightandthelight · 20/01/2015 11:30

Yay thanks Dizzy feeling very hopeful now :) have been massively overthinking everything and AF will probably only be a day or two late :)
