Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

Thanks beautician and tessie. We've talked things through this evening and I've explained why it's important to me to make a proper effort when it's the right time. He's just worried about sex becoming all about getting pregnant and routine instead of doing it just because we're in the mood for it etc. says he doesn't want to feel like a piece of meat! Fair enough I suppose. I was just upset because I don't want to feel like that either or for him to feel that way, but at the same time I'm keen to make sure we give it a good go during my fertile week!

Anyway, I'm not out of the game just yet for feb, and if I'm not lucky this time around I'll have to plan dtd a bit more wisely next month!

twinkle I'm doing the same.... I need to lose the 4lb's I put on at xmas but keep thinking there's no point as I'll put on weight anyway when I'm upduffed! Also I want to run more to improve my 5k times but again what's the point in getting faster now as I'll soon have to take a year or so off running properly anyway!! GrinConfused

mummyofonesofar · 17/01/2015 21:18

I plan and plan everything so I'm the same as you both in this! Got a birthday night out planned for a friends 30th already plan to be on antibiotics then as hopefully will be 6 weeks if we fall on the first cycle or on tww from second cycle.

Got tickets to rugby World Cup but might be 37 weeks if we fall on cycle 1 therefore have worked out driving times to get us home as hoping for a home birth after a awful induction experience in hospital last time.

Hope everyone's DHs cheer up. It's meant to be fun too!

warriorbot · 17/01/2015 22:14

Hah! I recommend sod's law too, Queen. Needed my withdrawal bleed to start, wore nice pants, job done!

Shame about the pants, but totally worth it Grin

Sweets27 · 17/01/2015 22:29

Twinkletoes, you're definitely not the only one planning! I'm mostly imagining how difficult those first 12 weeks must be, before you can tell anyone, trying to find plausible excuses for not drinking and trying not to get excited and blurt it out!

Dizzy, I'm in the same place as you with the Christmas weight - really trying to lose it though, as I'd like to start pregnancy as lean as possible to avoid feeling too flabby the whole way through!

Right, going to go out and by some skinny jeans tomorrow and see if I can't invoke the law of sod....

mummyofonesofar · 18/01/2015 08:14

sweets we decided we wanted out DS to be the first to know but to wait 12 weeks before we tell him. He knows we are trying so him asking if we are pregnant yet and saying no will be hard.

nightandthelight · 18/01/2015 10:11

Getting really quite stressed about AF now! It isn't technically due till tomorrow but still no sign of it coming. Normally at this point I am so bloated that I am driving my DH crazy talking about how fat I am. My sore boobs also start to affect my sleep (I sleep on my front). Still no sign of either symptom. So pissed off that this is happening the month I want AF to get here as soon as poss :(

ibk1983 · 18/01/2015 11:48

I plan and worry incessantly twinkle. We're going skiing in Canada Feb half term which will seem complete madness if I do get a BFP but we booked it back in October as a friend has moved to Whistler for a year so it's our only chance ever to be able to afford to go there... I figure though if i am PG i'll be excited enough not to care (and doc friends tell me first few weeks it's no risk to embryo). If we didn't book it, I would be really miserable if not pg then! Also planning school camping trips (I teach) for summer term, with half a mind that I might not actually be up to them. But again, deciding i'd rather tempt sod's law and have to deal with the problem if it arises than not schedule them and then still be ttc then... Got best friend's wedding in September, which I already feel guilty about, but I'm not waiting another 9 months to TTC!!

tessiegirl · 18/01/2015 12:32

Ah BabyBump cutting the stats into sections is a great help! Makes it clear to read....thank you! Smile

I'm another worrier here!! I love to plan and feel nervous when I can't...this ttc business is very difficult as you have absolutely no control over when it will happen Confused. To try and gain some control back I have used opks and temped from the beginning of the cycle I was expecting my first real AF after coming off the pill as the not knowing if I was even ovulating would have driven me mad! Plus I have got fertility books and am constantly googling info as I feel the need to know as much as I can. Some close friends I saw over Christmas who are either ttc themselves or just about to start were staring at me as though I had lost the plot when I started describing softcups and preseed...but hey, maybe I have passed on some helpful knowledge to them during their own ttc journeys!

We have been invited to a wedding in Spain in August and I keep thinking about what will happen if I am pregnant by then (hopefully will be!) but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. You just can't keep putting everything on hold waiting for the 'what ifs' Hmm...easier said than done, I know ladies! Grin

MrsGingerbread · 18/01/2015 13:50

Hello!

Can I join please? Af has just rudely turned up!

MrsGingerbread, 32, ttc #1, cycle 12, bfp due 14th Feb

Good luck ladies! I'll settle down quietly at the back for a bit! :)

Twinkletoes007 · 18/01/2015 14:08

Hello fellow worriers! Reassuring to know it's not just me. So..... we are about to book a holiday to South Africa in April - would be within the first 12 weeks which is probably not ideal especially as I hate flying to start with and won't be able to get pissed as a fart like I normally do but am determined to just try and get on with things and as you say deal with it if and when.

Dizzy - also going to start running again. Been so lazy since Christmas and thinking life you - ah well I could be upduffed soon so who cares! Went for a run this morning and it wasn't too horrific (ok I'm lying it was). Might sign up for a 5k or 10k run to give me more motivation.

A lot of the forward thinking I'm doing is about work. I really want some time off and soon!! That's so bad isn't it!

Welcome Gingerbread!

nightandthelight · 18/01/2015 14:11

Twinkle I have a couch to 10k running app which I am three weeks into and is great. There are loads available for free :) we are going on holiday in May, am very much hoping to be pg by then but don't want to cancel everything in our lives for at least nine months!

mummyofonesofar · 18/01/2015 14:26

I've got that app - haven't managed to find the courage to start it yet!! Is it good?

We can't all stop our lives incase we et pg quickly. Instead decide on some contingency planning!

I've also already began to worry about the birth, with my DSs birth being very long and traumatic. Decided on a home birth I think, even though DP isn't keen on the idea.

McCoyPen · 18/01/2015 14:32

Hi! Can I join the bus? I'm pretty new to all this!

I'm 27, ttc #1, cycle 2. Not sure when my BFP is due as af has come really late this month! Will just have to try and dtd as much as possible!

Good luck everyone x x

nightandthelight · 18/01/2015 14:59

No need for courage mummy it starts you off very easily :) I am really enjoying it and am noticing improvements to my fitness.

mummyofonesofar · 18/01/2015 15:18

Thanks night maybe will start once this snow has melted!

tessiegirl · 18/01/2015 15:19

Welcome to MrsGingerbread and McCoy!

I am planning to start a fitness DVD from tomorrow morning as AF will be done and dusted so focusing on a new cycle...I hate the thought of getting back into exercise and watching what I am eating but I know once I am into the routine I actually quite enjoy it.

Cariad2014 · 18/01/2015 18:46

Sorry to see you joining us Mrs Gingerbread. On a more positive note, how long was your lp? What did you get as an AF gift this month?

Looks like we're cycle twins, so please come and sit somewhere near me and Boosk and you can help share our Prosecco.

browneyedgirl86 · 18/01/2015 19:00

Evening all! How is everyone feeling? Think DP has had enough baby talk for one weekend. Feeling good though.

QueenofKelsingra · 18/01/2015 19:12

I am annoyed at the tww already! and I'm only on day 1!! I think its that i cant stand not being able to do something - at least during the middle of the month i can DTD and feel like I'm doing something, just sitting around for 2 weeks knowing nothing i do will make a difference is rather frustrating!!

i keep going back over the calendar, counting back to which day i think i OV's, checking if we definitely dtd on the right days, counting when i can test if this month is a 25/26/27/28 day cycle, and then checking the OV calculator for each cycle length to check we dtd over all possible fertile days!

i think i may have gone slightly mad.....

woodpigeon123 · 18/01/2015 19:51

Hello!

Bit of a strange question for you.... Hope that's ok!

Just had AF so starting cycle 4, but for the first time ever, my period stopped at 2 days (normally lasts 5) and was much lighter than usual....

Has anyone experienced similar or might know why?!

xx

loopylou1984 · 18/01/2015 20:09

Woodpigeon - have you poas?
If so and bfn then maybe you didn't ov? I've heard that can change things?
If not then I would check just in case. X

woodpigeon123 · 18/01/2015 20:47

This is a silly question probably but would I know if I hadn't ovulated?

I had positive OPKs but not sure if that means I definitely did?

xxxx

woodpigeon123 · 18/01/2015 20:48

And yes, did a test today as thought it was odd, but definitely BFN x

loopylou1984 · 18/01/2015 21:02

Sorry for the bfn, never easy to see even when you don't think your pg!

The only way to know for sure is to track your temperature and look for a rise. Temp should rise a day or so after ov. X

woodpigeon123 · 18/01/2015 21:13

Thank you! I've ordered a thermometer so will use both this month and see if it makes a difference....!
