AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

Saf1 - at your new car - How exciting!! And your girls night sounds fab! Just what you need, although it would be better if AF stayed away . I'm afraid I can't help with the OV tests, but good luck!

Greedy (do you mind if I call you greedy ) - I dont mind you asking at all! My DS is 2.7yrs and we've been trying now for 6 months. I was pg at the end of last year but lost the baby at 21wks. Both pg's have happened quite quick, but not this one! I think I read that you have 2 dont you?

conkertree · 03/11/2006 14:06

operation Sealion seems to be the answer going by Google - sorry if nobody else is interested - i could really have asked myself the question and answered it without all the typing but nevermind

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 14:08

rr - sorry to hear that you lost your baby last year, it must have been awful esp. as you were quite far gone. can't imagine how it must feel. i have been very lucky really, and yes i have 2, a ds (3.5) and dd (2). not even sure why i want another one after the morning i have had with them! but normally they are gorgeous!
and yes....you can call me greedy.....cos i am!!!

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 14:11

Hi conkertree - yes I think it was operation sealion now you mention it. Just for curiousity, the codename for D-Day landings was operation overlord. The things you can learn on MN eh

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 14:12

saf1 - i ahve bought loads of ov strips online, v. cheap and they all seem to have worked for me! mind you.....im not pg...so maybe they havent been working!

saf1 · 03/11/2006 14:13

Thanks for advice

Greedy- I know exactly what you mean..I have 2 DD's; DD1 3yrs and DD2 22months.
DD1 not sleeping at the moment so pretty knackered today...put off ttc until now... was going to try earlier on in the year but decided to wait and wait and wait and we're still waiting and trying I'm just impatient that's all ...still can't complain at least I'm blessed with my girls

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 14:24

saf1 - my dd is 22months too! born in jan! and my ds was 3 in july? tough having them so close hey? mine get on brilliantly now though (apart from this morning!!!!) and i dont want a third one to be too much younger and get left out which is why i am getting impatient! i ideally wanted to get pg in july so have baby next spring, but doesnt look like thats happening for us!!!

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 14:25

not sure why i put a ? after ds age! he was definately 3 in july!!!!

FemaleoftheSpecies · 03/11/2006 14:31

afternoon ladies - friday thank god - hallo to the new girlies

mrs mc j - hope the meeting went well? your software must be male (changing its mind at last minute etc etc)

sos to endless - i agree with ready, testing before af due can be disappointing

congrats Emz - fingers crossed

sos to hear about last year's sad news RR

chez moi (i feel like being cheesy) there is some news of the non bfp variety. my nipples are still puffy and dotty and veiny - af was light. i am going to a wedding tomorrow and tried my dress on with Spanx gripper slip thing on underneath. hmm odd, doesn't look how it didwhen i bought it (last week). took spanx thing off. better - that's going back. but still not as good as i thought it looked before. too much bust. so i rung the store, found they had a larger size. went and got it.

anyway to cut a long story short, looked for some new undies, though i'd get measured. told girl i was a 36b - she just laughed. no way are you a b cup. you're a .... a... eek i'm a 34e or a 36dd!

i'm afraid that given a sneaky bfn, and af (albeit v light) i'm clearly not able to use pregnancy as an excuse but my boobs are just taking on a life of their own

my 36b/34c was always fine before.

i do eat a lot of chocolate and pear cake (she admits honestly) !

have good afternoons - got to defuzz legs, do the fake bake and basically get presentable. bought new shoes and assistant almost passed out at sight of my manky feet.

saf1 · 03/11/2006 14:51

Female-Have a lovely time.
Godda boobs so jealous mine shrink a cup size after each baby and the biggest I've been is a 34a get the picture?

Greedy -yes 20mths is a small age gap and yes I too wanted another baby pref before DD1 goes to school in Sept.I think I'm over pressurising myself because of this time limit.

Anyway pretty damn sure AF on it's way.
So I'll be on the christmas thread soon.
Leat I can get legless next week-end.

RR- Meant to say in last posting so sorry for your loss last year

Babydust to all and p.m.a

MrsMcJnr · 03/11/2006 16:03

Wow! What a chatty day and I've missed it all! Meeting was pretty awful, they want me to consider going part time because of the company's cash flow and suggested I get another part-time job elsewhere so I can pay my mortgage etc! Thing is, they'd still expect as much of my time as they get now. I don't think I am up for that. Having a chat on Tues to someone about a job elsewhere - watch this space! Am a bit worried that present company won't be able to pay me what they should this month.

No developments on the AF front. There is a French market on today just up from my office and oh the smells, garlic mushrooms, salami, cheeses YUM - nipped to Boots just now to get a sandwich for my lunch and nearly passed out from all the yummy smells - RachelRose - get yourself to Castle Street!

Emz25 - sounding really good for you, fingers crossed and hope we get to congratulate you properly over the weekend!!!!

Firststar - glad the OPKs worked for you! what CD are you on and how many days is your cycle usually? that might give you an idea of when AF is due. The LP varies from person to person but your own rarely changes length. So could be 14 days but could be more or less depending on your body.

RachelRose - I'm normally better at the cheesy music questions than anything else too! oh and musicals - thought you were my type of a girl KitKat! .

Babymad - you sound positive today! Like your idea for the Christmas thread!! I will also be hoping and praying that AF does not arrive anytime at all in December because currently, AF would be due on my 33rd birthday at the end of December and I will be one unhappy lady if that happens!

What, what Bodkin old chap Will be thinking about you this weekend and hoping that the old witch stays away!

I am confused about these Fertility Monitors and their benefits. I read up a bit and noticed that the FR one only monitors temps and the CB one monitors temps and OPK readings so, if you are already charting all fertility signs, plus the additional one of CM which neither of these monitor, is there any point in having one of these too? can it do anything different to the TTC software? Trying to talk myself out fof getting one.

Welcome Greedy - nice to have you on board.

Saf1 - I bought my OPKs from Access Diagnostics. Hope AF stays away.

Female - perhaps the software is male but then again, females are famous for changing their minds without a single reason!! Have a great time at the wedding. PMSL at your being so specific about the cake being pear!

Well boobs when you are pregnant are great, then about 3 days afer giving birth- it's like whoohah Pamela Anderson eat your heart out- but definitely looking and NO touching- then (in my case anyway) after breast feeding- where did the boobs go? Very sad. (But absolutely worth it!- infact i want a third baby so i can breast feed again because it is SO lovely )

I had fairly smallish 34b to start with pre-pregnancy, but enjoyed a d cup in the first few months of breast feeding, however i must say that when my son finished at 10 mnths old there wasnt much left of them but they did perk up naturally after a while! But never quite the same again, until i had my daughter that is... I am hoping for a BFP at the end of this month so i can enjoy them getting bigger again

cityangel · 03/11/2006 23:57

Hi all just a quickie. Am tidying the flat before 40 of my Mum's friends decend on it for a surprise B-day party tomorrow aaargh. Still at least I can enjoy the wine .
I want to wish you luck MrsMC. I know its a difficult time but either way I think you'll need a hug. So here it is in advance
Won't be back on until late Sun/ Mon
Hugs to all

MrsMcJnr · 04/11/2006 15:49

Ahh Cityangel, thank you, that's so sweet. I hope you have a great party tonight!

I started spotting this morning so I expect AF is just round the corner, it just shows you what the power of the mind can do, I had managed to almost convince myself that I was pregnant .

My mind was rapidly taken off my sad thoughts this morning though as I was sitting having my manicure at 10am thinking about all the things I'd do pottering around the house today and then the estate agent called to say that there were viewers coming at 2pm! So I got home, hoovered from top to toe, rushed about for a couple of hours, spoilt my nails and then had to hide out at my neighbours!! Fingers crossed that they liked the house though!

Hope everyone else is well too and having a good weekend!

RachelRose · 04/11/2006 21:50

Just popped on to say I am so so so sorry for your AF MrsMc. And sorry for saying anything that built your hoped up. Its all so tricky isn't it! BUT, very good news about the viewers for your house. Its such a fabulous house that I'm sure they'll have fallen in love with it!

Hope the party is going well cityangel - Wow - 40 people! Its going to be a riot!!

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

xx

Nixz · 05/11/2006 10:09

Hi
Has anyone ever used the cheap PG tests that you can get for about £1.50 from some chemists?
I have used 2 now, Friday (when AF was due) and today and both say negative. I was judt wondering if they would work so early on.
I also think that i may just be clutching at straws!!!! Been ttc for over 12 months now

KitKat30 · 05/11/2006 11:25

Morning everyone - just a quick post to see how you're doing MrsMcJ. Hope you're OK hon. Don't want to get your hopes up if you think AF is here, but on the BBC parenting website the pregnancy calendar says implantation spotting happens about 12dpo - so right around the time AF is due. Here's hoping this is what your spotting is chick. Let us know how you are. xxx

Uki · 05/11/2006 11:58

Hi All
Hi Mrs Mc.
Sorry to hear your news I hate all the uncertainty. I also so thought I was pg this month, but BFN this morning. No AF yet so no idea really.

Nixz- mine were cheap tests too, So I guess we just wait and see the 2ww wait continues. I won't test tomorrow but the day after. although even with other tests it always takes about 5 days past AF due date to get +

Good luck to everyone, bding and waiting and b

Nixz · 05/11/2006 13:39

so, i should wait til im 5 days past af due date until i test?
I thought you could test as early as first day of missed af?
Good luck to us both xxxxx
