AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

Sounds like a BFP to me, wait until Sunday when AF is due and do it with first morning wee. oh and congrats . x

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 11:43

Morning ladies - and welcome to everyone new! Its good to see you on here - you'll get loads of support and ideas

Really sorry about AF Endless but as you say if it was going to come, at least its here now and you can move on to next month. Great advise about not testing early... Hope you have a good weekend.

Kyte - Hope your AF isn't on its way.

Mrsmc, Aaaarghhh at your software changing its mind but at least AF has not arrived yet. Really really really good luck today at your meeting! They'd better be nice to you or they take us all on

Female - whats going on for you?

KitKat - dont know about the best position to lie in, I just try to stay as still as I can so everything stays up there Not sure what difference it all makes.

Hi Bodkin - I think I am in 2ww - as I think I OV'd a couple of days ago - but am not sure. We've dont loads of BD though! The quiz was good but hard! I mean one of the questions was "What was the military code name for Germany's planned invasion of Briatiain?"

Hi to everyone else - Hope you are all enjoying Friday so far!

Babymad2DS · 03/11/2006 11:49

The December could be call "All aboard for Santa bring a BFP" Any other suggestions?

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 11:49

Mmm, I should have read that before I posted. I dont know where 'Briatiain' is - there was far too many vowels in that work - i meant Britain. Still didn't know the code name though .

Oooh, congratulations Emz - from what I've seen on here a positive is a positive no matter how feint. Good luck

Emz25 · 03/11/2006 11:58

thanks every1,

thats what i thought too but i just can't quite believe it! i had to look really closely too see it then i held it up to the light. i thought my eyes were playing tricks at first. (thats how faint it was)

i'll let you all know either way at the weekend anyway. i was a day late last period. (due sat but started sun night) thats why i'm not sure if i'm due sat or sun this mth. do you think it will be ok to test tomorrow or wait till sun morning?

babydust to every1

KitKat30 · 03/11/2006 12:00

Thanks for the tips everyone. Find it so hard to lie still regardless of the position I'm in. Too much of a fidget really! Haven't tried the legs in the air though - might give it a go tonight! (Might as well give DH a laugh!)

Congrats Emz - sounds like a BFP to me.

Rachel - LOL have no idea of the answer to that one either - suspect my DH would though...

Babymad - Christmas BFP sounds good to me...tell Santa we'll be v v good!! Maybe...!

MrsMcJ - yes finally made it on here! Good luck at the meeting today, hope it goes OK hon. x

Bodkin · 03/11/2006 12:07

Hello chaps,

Emz - fingers crossed for you.

RR - sounds like you've covered your bases then this month!

Good luck for the meeting, Mrsmcjnr

endless - sorry old bean, but glad you sound positive about the new cycle, and think that not testing too early is sound advice.

not sure why i am sounding like something out of world war two today (see "hello chaps" and "old bean") Must be something to do with RRs quiz question!!!

No spotting again so far today, but am refusing to fall into my body's cunning trap of getting my hopes up. Plus, my boobs feel completely normal, no matter how much I keep pressing them to see if they are feeling sensitive!!!

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 12:11

Yeah you are right Kit Kat - its definately a boy question. A few of the blokes at our table were saying "oh, was it operation torch or operation overlord?" I just sat there with a confused look on my face... However I shone in the 80's music round when they didn't have a clue

KitKat30 · 03/11/2006 12:18

LOL It's always the musicals round for me! Such a saddo...!

honeyapple · 03/11/2006 12:20

Hi everyone,
good luck to those waiting to test- i definitely recommend not testing early, too much messing with your emotions. Let the cycle take it's course...I am feeling very positive about this month. Looking forward to loads of BDing and relaxing about the whole thing.
And yes- i have told people we are TTC which was a bit of a stupid thing to do in hindsight, cos i keep having to answer awkward questions from my MIL.

kitkat30 - you mentioned that you use the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. Was yours £99? I have just ordered one to pick up in a moment from my nearest Boots. How good are they? Are they easy to use? How long have you been using it for? Please be honest as I don't want to waste all that money if they are crap.

Also thanks for your support earlier.

Thanks

Emz25 · 03/11/2006 12:51

that seems alot of money endless!

with my last baby i conceived using persona that was only £60 from boots it may even be cheaper now as that was 2 yrs ago! i conceived within 2 mths of having it. i was supposed to be using it as contraception but didn't actually use protection in my ov window!

KitKat30 · 03/11/2006 12:54

Hi Endless - yes mine was £99 from Boots. This is my 1st month of using it - I definitely find it very easy to use. You basically switch the monitor on, on day 1 of AF, and then switch it on every morning at the same time (you have a 6 hour window in which to do your test). On about day 6 it asks you to do a test - which is really easy, just like doing an HPT. Wee on the stick, put the cap on and stick it into the monitor slot. After about 5 mins it gives you a fertility reading: low, high or peak. High means you've got a good chance of getting pg, and peak means you should ov in 24-36 hours.

So far I've had high readings CD11 - 13. Hoping for a peak this weekend! In theory as you use it it gets to know your cycle, so it will ask you to test on very specific days, rather than the full 20 days it asks you to do in Month 1...

It seems like a good investment - albeit pricey because you've got the cost of the monitor and the ov sticks - as you've got it for subsequent pgs too. And ov sticks on their own are too random for me, I like the fact that this tells me what to do every day!!

Hope that helps? x

endlesslove · 03/11/2006 13:07

Thanks for replying so quickly. Yes I have been using the opks now for 3 months and think that i just want to get that window before you ovulate. So i will give it a try.

Is your one purple and white? xx

KitKat30 · 03/11/2006 13:09

It is! Did you pick yours up?

Maybe we should start a CBFM thread to see how everyone finds it and whether it works or not?!

endlesslove · 03/11/2006 13:21

Just about to pick it up. I'll be back later to report! Thanks again for your advice!

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 13:33

can i ask some questions please! has anyone who has previously had kids noticed that their cycle has changed completely since giving birth? i used to have a 45 day cycle (long! i know!) and now i seem to have a 30 day cycle ( much better for ttc cos each time comes so much quicker!) but i get lots of spotting all the way through the month (nasty brown blood.....sorry!....tmi!!!!) and horrible pains down the back of my legs when af is visiting! so bad i cant stand up sometimes. sounds melodramatic i know! but true. has anyone else had anything similar?

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 13:36

this is very addictive by the way! another question.......has anyone used agnus castus? my friend said it is like a natural clomid, is this true? she is expecting twins after using it, so i guess it could be!

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 13:43

Hi Greedyguzzler - I used to have very irregular periods, but after the birth of my DS they settled to 28 days. They are a bit more up the air now that I'm ttc though.

Re: Agnus Castus - I dont know anything about it but I know ladies on here who do and they've previously advised caution with it - dont know the detail though but someone will be here soon who does

RachelRose · 03/11/2006 13:45

Sorry - I dont mean to worry you about your friend with my comment on agnus castus - I think the worry was more to do with it potentially messing up cycles rather than anything else, but like I say I dont really know so I'll just keep quite!

greedyguzzler · 03/11/2006 13:48

thanks. how old is your ds? how long have you been ttc? how strange that i can just come out and ask that without feeling like i am being rude or nosey!

saf1 · 03/11/2006 13:56

Hi all, welcome newbies

Sorry for those who's AF has arrived!!

Quick question.. think my af on it's way so I'm now looking at e-bay to buy ovulation strips. Has anyone bought any from there before..I'm just not sure that I can afford other brands from shops?!

Everyone at my ante-natal group is pregnant v. jealous

Anyway as af is prob on it's way I've had my hair done, bought a new car slightly unexpected and arranged a night out with a girlfriend where I can get very drunk and NOT have to get up with the kids the next day as I stay at her house.
Heaven.

I agree about MN being addictive I'm constantly on at work

Babydust to all

conkertree · 03/11/2006 14:01
