AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

Thanks ladies. I have a few projects on the go at the moment but they don't help much (a very busy job would though - the fear factor! ).

In the last couple of weeks I have:

  • drawn up an 8 week plan of all the cooking, baking, shopping etc that I need to do for the Christmas period so that I can start as early as possible (ensuring a stress free Christmas Eve).
  • bought most of DHs stocking fillers and wrapped them (he seeks and peaks if I don't do it as I get them)
  • planned a dinner for 12 next weekend
  • sorted out all cupboards so I have a ton of stuff to sell at a car boot sale
  • ordered my Christmas cards from chartities (Christmas stamps go on sale today so off to the post office soon!).

I think I spend too much time alone

ready4motherhood · 01/11/2006 13:05

Crikey... a dinner for 12!! That will keep your mind off anything else!! What are you serving?

FemaleoftheSpecies · 01/11/2006 13:05

xmas stamps on sale today, i thought it was 7th mrs mc j.. you are too prompt. i shall get to post office

you will make a fantastic mummy :-)

RachelRose · 01/11/2006 13:40

Gosh Mrsmc - you are so organised its fantastic! I have also bought a few xmas pressies, but there are just scattered all over the house.

I reckon ttc must be harder on lifes 'planners' because its all such a lottery.

rubles · 01/11/2006 13:41

Blimey MrsMc, you're scaring me.

AnguaVonUberwald · 01/11/2006 14:43

Please can you advise me. I don't want to start a "might I be pregnant" thread, as I think my period will probably come tommorow and then I will look like a right idiot. but:

I came off contraception over 5 weeks ago and had a bit of spotting, no AF since then. Not used any contraception. Keep expecting my AF to start, have all the symptoms, and it just does't.

I am seriously starving all the time. Friday I had 3 apples, a bag of crisps, a chocolate bar and a sandwich, and then had to go and get another sandwich as was still hunger. Yesterday. 3 apples and two sandwiches. Today feel slightly queezy but still 4 pears, a sandwich and a packet of crips. And everything smells really strong as well.

Also I am totally exhausted.

Oh yes and all the pregnancy tests are completly negative!

Could it mean anything, or wouldn't I be having any of these symptoms at this time anyway?

AnguaVonUberwald · 01/11/2006 14:43

p.s. MrsMcjnr, I am scared too!!!

rubles · 01/11/2006 15:31

Angua - I assume you meant you ate those things for your lunch and not in the whole day? That doesn't sound a lot if it's for the whole day.
What symptoms of AF have you had and for how long?
What are your boobs like?
When did you do the last pg test?
Do you have any idea when you ovulated?

I'm afraid it's impossible to say. Although the symptoms you describe all sound potential pg symptoms, the annoying thing is that they could also be related to other things or PMT. The only advice I can give is to get a really sensitive test, (the ones that are sensitive to concentrations of hCG over 10), then wait until the day after tomorrow and test with first morning urine.

Quick post before my sister arrives.

Early spotting v. normal for me before AF. Before I went on the pill years and years ago, I used to spot for a week before AF. Now its usually a couple of days, followed by one day of light AF, followed by another day spotting, so afraid this is textbook AF on her way...

MrsMcJnr, please can you come round and organise my Christmas too?

RR - on thursdays I do a bit of bookkeeping for a local small business - but as I said before, I am in Dorset, so things are quite rural round 'ere, hence outside khazi >

Bodkin · 01/11/2006 16:16

The bit I wrote about spotting was in relation to something Rubles asked earlier by the way, not to you Angua - sorry just read it back and it looked confusing!

MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2006 16:19

Thank you all for your support and kind words today, they have certainly made me feel a lot better than I did earlier. Told DH that the reason I totally went off on him this morning was because I thought the game was up this month his response was "oh well, we'll just have to keep banging away at it"

Female - I stand corrected, went to the PO, stood in the long queue and was told that the employee had told me the wrong thing last week! It is the 7th - might buy mine on line.

Sorry if I scared you all with my Christmas enthusiasm. I'm a bit of a control freak - had you guessed!?

Angua - sorry that you are having such a frustrating time. Coming off the pill can leave such a confusing effect on your body can't it? I agree with the others, only time and periodic testing will resolve this for you. Sorry I can't think of anything helpful to add. By the way, chances are someone else reading your post feels exactly the same way so in my opinion no questions are stupid and you should never feel like an idiot for asking .

cityangel · 01/11/2006 16:41

Hey everyone thanks for all your advice. You were so right I went to Boots and not only were the tests bloody expensive but one of my male colleagues was in the queue! So I baled out went back to my desk and decided to throw money at the problem and ordered a Clearblue fertility Monitor. This ttc is working out to be really expensive
I also went with 1n2s advice and got the first response ones as a backup.
Then I managed to sneak home and do an -ve OV test at home. I know its way to early but I just want to cover all the bases for one month.
This afternoon I am going to set-up my Ovusoft chart and go to the MN chart thread for advice.
Dh has this really heavy cold that is going round so I might have to get the turkey baster out this month
I have identified that the cough medicine we had anyway has the guaifenesin in... when do people recommend taking it in the cycle?

honeyapple · 01/11/2006 17:04

Hi everyone,
this is the first time i've ever posted before, but i have been reading the messages with great interest the last month and thought i should join in, too voyeuristic otherwise, anyway have been ttc for 2 months- i know, hardly anything, but i have 2 kids already- both of which were not planned... and so this is the first time i have been BDing with the purpose of having a baby and its really taken over my head. I just assumed I would get pg straight away. Last month AF was 5 days late, did test was BFN but didnt believe it! Convinced myself i had to be pg. It was horrible. It is really nice to read other women's experiences. I am going to try not to be so obsessed this month, and relax a bit more.
Think i might try the legs over head thing though!

sideways · 01/11/2006 17:09

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around much, very busy with work.

So the bitch is back (as Elton would say) - AF has well and truly hit today, after a couple of days of spotting. Two days late, probably my body playing tricks. I had felt sick, had headaches and been tired, so had been a little hopeful, but am attacking the grapefruit juice and cough medicine with a vengeance this month.

Agree with the others that your organisational skills are a little scary .

Angua - hopefully good news for you, sounds promising, maybe they are false negatives.

MrsMc - hope you are feeling a bit better, it does feel like a neverending thing, doesn't it? We get ourselves all hopeful and then find af sneaks up on us anyway. Some possible good news for you on the job front though.

Hello to everyone else

sideways · 01/11/2006 17:10

Hi honeyapple

MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2006 17:20

Cityangel - make sure that guiffisin is the only active ingredient in the cough mixture otherwise it can have adverse effects. Let us know how you get on with the FM, maybe Santa will bring me one!!

Hello Honeyapple - nice to have you with us! Best of luck and babydust to you.

Oh Sideways - sorry about AF, it is so unfair how we get so hopeful and then she arrives and we realise that all those positive things we'd spotted were just her on her way - grrr! You sound positive for this cycle though! good luck and babydust to you!

Talk about all your buses - I got another call today about a different job

Babymad2DS · 01/11/2006 17:29

Evening Ladies.
CD28 today AF 2 days late, doing a CB-HPT in the morning if still no AF. I have mixed feeling at the moment feel hungry and sicky as well as having AF like cramps . I hope that these 17 long month are over, I so hope my body isn't play tricks on me. If AF is on her way I wish it would just get on with it, as I have a hospital appointment next Wednesday for a scan and x-ray but if I'm still on AF it cant be done and I'll have to wait weeks again for another appointment .
Hope everyone is fine and well, good luck Ladies!
Babydust to you all babymadxxx

MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2006 17:32

Hey Babymad - I will be thinking of you and sending you positive vibes and babydust, hope they get to you and I'll have fingers crossed until the morning x

endlesslove · 01/11/2006 17:46

Hi all

Rachelrose - its great your dh is very keen - happy baby dancing!

Bodkin - Sorry af is coming. Its a real drag. I hope the spiders don't bite your bum from up the toilet!!!

Mrs - So sorry your feeling low but if it is any consillation I have been feeling crap since Sunday evening and haven't gone into work yet this week. I'm going back tomorrow and am dreading it as I know my mind won't be on work. Keep your chin up honey. Your very organised by the way!

Ready4motherhood - Good luck with your course.

Honeyapple - Welcome

Lastly, I just want to say thank you so much to Rachelrose, Firststar, Bodkin, Mrs, Ready4motherhood and Femaleofthespecies for thinking of me and giving me your good vibes. I hope there is still a little bit of hope for me to have a BFP this month.

Babydust to us all xxxxx

honeyapple · 01/11/2006 18:02

Thanks for your warm welcomes. My heart really goes out to those of you who have been TTC for a while, I can't begin to imagine how you keep your spirits up- I felt like throwing in the towel a couple of days ago!

Mind you, with my AF at the moment, i am feeling v positive about the BDing this month. I'm planning on giving my DP a schedule for his required performances. And going back to the smoking/drinking issue, I reckon you have every right to demand his abstinence- you wouldnt want him smoking when you have a baby, so why when you are trying for one?

honeyapple · 01/11/2006 19:26

Regarding that last comment, just got a very drunk phonecall from my DP... I'm going to have a fun night tonight

Babymad2DS · 01/11/2006 20:27

Soz got it wrong CD29 and 3 days late not CD28 and 2 days late!

ready4motherhood · 01/11/2006 20:38

Thanks Endless, it's really interesting so far! If nothing else, it is a good distraction!!

Fingers and toes crossed for your BFP in November!!!!!!!
