AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

desperate2bmum will do, sick of buying endless OV-test and there not working for me, at least this is reuseable, which i like

desperate2bmum · 28/10/2006 12:01

how does it work? are they strips that you put under microscope? i just looked it up on ebay only 1 left am tempted to buy it now

Bodkin · 28/10/2006 12:09

Blimey, soo much to catch up on.

RR - I feel partially responsible for bringing to mind the videotaping incident!

Firststar and Ready4 - am thinking about switching allegiance to Strictly now... Could I live without Simon Cowells acidic put downs, Louis childish tantrums and Sharons "fabulousness" Umm, sorry, no, don't think I can, but will flick over in the ads!

I'm in Dorset, no pets, lots of woodlice/spiders residing in the house though.

Hello to everyone else. Have a great weekend.

ready4motherhood · 28/10/2006 12:42

If it's acidic put downs you want... look no further than Craig Revel Horwood!! Fabulousness comes in the form of Arlene Phillips!! Not sure there are any tantrums to rival Louis Walsh... but Bruno Tonioli has the excitement of a 4 year old!! And x factor is repeated on a Sunday morning!!

I shouldn't know all this!

Bodkin · 28/10/2006 16:27

Sunday morning you say Ready4? Hmmm..., might fancy a sequin or two tonight...

ready4motherhood · 28/10/2006 16:40

I have misled you it seems Bodkin... sincere apologies it's repeated at 1.30 on a Sunday... so afternoon, technically... although since DH and I can usually still be found in our pjs at that time on a sunday!!

oh won't all that change when (fingers crossed) we become parents!!!!

Babymad2DS · 28/10/2006 18:26

OMG everyone............I got a BFP!!
Can't believe it, honestly didnt think I had ovulated this month and have already had a BFN 2 days ago.
DH is in Sheffield with DDthis weekend and will be back this afternoon so will tell him then
Am in absolute shock, keep looking at the stick as if it isnt true.
Good luck to anyone else testing this weekend

Minshu · 29/10/2006 10:02

Congratulations Loujay!!!! That should give some encouragement to those ladies who has some doubt / confusion over when / whether they ov'ed this month.

But, why are you up so early if DH and DD are away?

Sideways, how are you doing? I know what you mean about the disappointment, even if you know the old bag is on her way.

We are in Newcastle (where RachelRose's parents or in-laws are, I believe?).

How is everyone else enjoying their weekend?

ready4motherhood · 29/10/2006 10:23

Congratulations Loujay!!!! So excited for you!! Kick some of your leftover babydust our way

RachelRose · 29/10/2006 13:30

Hey, congratulations Loujay!!! Great to have a BFP on here... Not sure who would be the next to test. Anyone?

Hi Minshu, My family are from Newcastle and some are still there, but my mum and dad moved up to Alnwick a few years ago. Do you know it?

Hi Bodkin, If it hadn't been the videotaping story, there would have been another story just waiting to come out.

Hope everyone having a good weekend! We've had a great one and DS is snoozing in the car, so thought I'd hop on here quickly. Should be house tidying but....

xx

MrsMcJnr · 29/10/2006 14:25

Wonderful news Loujay and out first on this thread (though technically, you are still an October graduate ). Tell us how it was done!

Sideways, hope AF has stayed away .

Hope you all having a good weekend

MrsMcJnr · 29/10/2006 14:38

Desperate - Coverlines - the reason for charting BBT is to determine when you OV in a cycle. After OV temps rise quickly above the range of lows that predeced it. The thermal shift is often obvious but the coverline will help you differentiate bewteen temps that are low & pre-OV and ones that are high and post-OV. Here is how to draw it:

  1. After AF, as you are charting your Temps, always notice the highest of the previous 6 days. 2)Identify 1st day your temp rises at least 2/10 of degree higher that that highest temp. 3)Go back & highlight the last 6 temps before the rise.
  2. Draw coverline 1/10 of degree above highest of that clust of 6 highlighted tepmps preceding the rise (high temps during AF are irrelevant).

Also beware of other aberrant high temps that can also be discounted using Rule of Thumb. If you have some temps that are artificially high due to being unwell, alchol etc you can discount it when drawing your coverline.

Hope that helps. You can get a 15 day free trial on the Ovusoft.com website. It is really good because it'll draw your coverline, it will tell you what is going on and what you should look for on each day, it can predict your fertile days and tell you how likely you are to conceive from a BD on any given day. Even if you decide not to buy the software after the trial (its about £25), it's a great user guide when you start charting.

Hi ladies.

Well its been a very exciting and strange day for me and dh. I got up this morning and did a Clearblue Digital preganancy test and it was a BFP. Totally over the moon. However, did another test tonight, it was a Sainsburys own read your own result jobbie and it was BFN. Not really sure where I stand now! So will be testing again in the morning with another Clearblue and will see what happens.

Congratulations Loujay. How exciting and gives us all so much hope.x

Sorry 1n2s, hope next month is your lucky one.

Good luck to everyone else, sending us all the babydust in the world x

endlesslove · 30/10/2006 07:42

Good morning ladies. Please help me, I really need some advice. I got up this morning and did my digital clearblue pregnancy test and it said Not Pregnant. Now am so confused as two very different results from the same digital brand. I have no more tests so am totally unsure. Please can I have some advice. Thanks xx

FemaleoftheSpecies · 30/10/2006 07:52

nightmare 'endless' - could you have peed on the stick for more than the 10 seconds. I had a similar thing with a first response once .. and got a pos. only to be followed by negs on another fr and other brands.. either a chem preg or given the extremely short lived pos.. i now put it down to either a faulty test or me having oversoaked it! lovely.

not pleasant. I hope yours is not a case of a false pos or a faulty test. let us know. :-)

endlesslove · 30/10/2006 07:59

Thanks for replying so quickly. I have not heard of a Chem Preg? What is that?

I don't recall oversoaking the stick! But cannot be 100% sure of that. I was so hopeful about it.

I didn't think you could get a false positive but I may be wrong.

xx

RachelRose · 30/10/2006 08:22

Hi Endless,

As far as I knew you couldn't get a false positive. I dont want to get your hopes up, but there have been a couple of women on here who've had a similar experience and went on to be pregnant. Its wierd that you've got 2 different results from the same brand though. I presume from your post that you did both tests in the morning?

Sorry I can't be more help but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed all day!!!! Rather than spend more money could you make a doctor appt today?
