AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

Hi all,

well i'm on CD 13 today and have beed b'ding most of the w'end

I'm going to see reflexologist tomorrow as I know this helped my sister in law in conceiving and it helped whilst I was pg with both DD's.

Trying to not be so obsessive this month about TTc but...it's still the same as ever

Keep checking the ovulation calenders online to check that now is the 'right' time to b'd not that we need an excuse at the mo

Desperate- good luck with accupuncture I think any alternative treatment can help and it can't harm you so enjoy .

Baby dust and lol to all

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 15:32

Hello Endless! Nice to see you and thank you for thinking about me. The BDing had been going well ('til my tantrum last night), just a shame I don't appear to be OV this cycle! I am on my 5th cycle of TTC but I have only been charting for the last 4. Hope you get lucky this cycle, fingers crossed. Babydust x

Desperate - all of us wore my grannies' home knitted cardies. I think they are so cute on babies. As soon as I get my BFP, I am going to start knitting, you never know, something knitted might be ready by the time I have my own grandchildren . Let us know how you get on with the acupuncture. I think about TTC all the time too but only talk about it to you ladies. Re Spain, my parents live in Andalucia. I grew up there from so I guess it's home for me. I plan to cross qualify so I can practice law in Spain and help my Dad with his property business and DH plans to learn the tricks of the trade from my Dad. The maternity practices over there are a little old fashioned, let's put it that way.

Saf1 - sounding very positive Let is know how you get on at the reflexologist tomorrow. How did it help you before? I am going mad with my Fertility Planner on my software because it changes it's mind so often and the days that were good or the best for BD have now become low or very loe guess it is only trying to keep up with my body though

Bought some Xmas pressies at lunchtime to take my mind of things - I LOVE Christmas!

rubles · 23/10/2006 16:07

Ooh, whereabouts are they MrsMc? We were there in May & I just love Spain, I've been there loads. We were a bit inland towards Granada this year.

Piffle · 23/10/2006 16:11

Piffle - you have mail Make sure you blow some babydust our way!!

Rubles - very near there, just on the coast between Marbella and Fuengirola.

ready4motherhood · 23/10/2006 16:54

Afternoon Ladies... Got a thermometer today, will use it next cycle if necessary (fingers crossed I have just wasted £13.00)... I got a little "understanding fertility" booklet with it, and was just reading through. I didn't know this so I thought I would share it with you. According to NICE "while TTC women should reduce or better still cut out alcohol...you should have no more than 1or2 units of alcohol once or twice a week"

I don't actually drink anywhere near that amount. Special occasions I will have a couple of glasses of wine. I am such a lightweight I don't usually bother But I had no idea that alcohol would affect TTC.

Sorry if I am telling you all what you already know

babydust *

saf1 · 23/10/2006 19:24

I know this isn't going to help but I don't drink maybe a the odd glass of Bailey's now and again..and I'm still ttc.

With DD2 I was pg didn't know and drank more then as it was my hen night, wedding night etc.

Anyway I do agree slightly that cutting back on alcohol might help.

Good luck sorry to sound like a pessimist {sad]

jess1996 · 23/10/2006 20:22

MrsMcJnr - I think I'm in the same situation as you. I'm on CD18 with no temp shift yet. At first I was worried that I OV'd early this month as my temps were quite low until CD8 then shifted upwards. And I've had sore boobs all weekend. Last month I had a 40 day cycle followed by a fairly light pain-free AF. I wasn't charting, but assumed it was anovulatory. Does anyone know if an anovulatory cycle is followed by an earlier or later OV? This is my 3rd month of TTC and my regular cycles have become crazy. I wasn't feeling particularly stressed so I don't know what the problem is.

Anyway good luck - lets hope we both OV soon

Amester · 23/10/2006 21:01

Rubles - honestly don't worry. I feel fine now anyway - just trying to be positive about trying this month - i've bought the grapefruit juice and everything!

I noticed that a few of you have mentioned trying acupuncture - I would really recommend it! I used to have really irregular periods i.e. 45 days then 60 days etc and since I have been going to acupuncture my cycles are pretty regular - around 30 days. It is also really relaxing and there are loads of points they can work on to help with fertility. Its also nice to be able to chat to someone about all the symptoms you have exerienced throughout the month.

Good luck to everyone for this month

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 09:10

Hello ladies CD19 and not sure if OV or not (fingers crossed!). How are the rest of you?

Ready4motherhood - your thermometer sounds snazzy! A thermometer is never a waste even if you do get your BFP this cycle (fingers crossed). Gosh, those alcohol guidelines are very low , I thought it was safe to have 13 units a week if you were TTC. Did it say why you should not drink or drink barely anything when TTC? I always thought that the danger was only when you had conceived but that men should cut down because it affects sperm production.

Hello Saf1 - thanks for the balancing post that makes those who like their tipple worry less I always say it's in my blood, when my Mum started contractions with me, she called her sister over and they drank G&Ts until it was time to go to hospital! can you believe that? they would probably call Social Services if you did something like that now. How are you doing?

Hi Jess1996 - sorry to hear that your body isn't behaving either. What made you change your mind about having OV early this cycle? If you haven't yet, hope you do soon.

Hello Amestar - glad to hear you are feeling postive Best of luck this cycle.

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 09:36

Right! I'm on a mission to round up all those +ive Nov MNetters who have gone AWOL!! Here's the roll call, we want to know all your chat and how you are feeling:

DD1 - CD9
Kyte & Chickenpiescheeky - CD12
Bodkin - CD13
Uki - CD16
Nuttymum1 - CD17
Snowchick - CD19
Sideways - CD20
BBWBabelisa - CD21 - did your DH stick around long enough for you to OV?

Minshu, Chocolate peanut, Frothycoffeegirl, JoeTwoTies, vvvvv, Angua - sorry can't work out what CD you are on

ready4motherhood · 24/10/2006 11:04

MrsMcJnr - Yeah, I agree it is low. I don't drink, but I know there are plenty of women who enjoy the odd tipple (and why not!)... The booklet is only11 pages so doesn't go into too much detail, just on page6 "harmful habits" it says about the women and no more than 1or2 units once or twice a week... it does also say that men should not exceed 3-4units per day, as it is detrimental to sperm quality.
I searched for the nice guidelines and found this \link{http://www.nice.org.uk/pdf/CG011niceguideline.pdf}
it's reason for that amount is that it reduces the risk of harming the developing fetus. So now I am thinking it should really be that amount when pregnant... conflicting huh!!

ready4motherhood · 24/10/2006 11:06

why can't i seem to do links

1n2s · 24/10/2006 11:46

Thats what I thought too re the alcohol intake - I'm really good from ovulation time up to AF just incase I'm pregnant. But during AF and upto ovulation I drink within the guidlines ie less than 14 units of alcohol/wk. If you ask me it de-stresses us gals who like the odd tipple and thats what we all need. I had a pal trying for years to get pregant, who never touched a drop of alcohol and had fertility testing. Result was no fertility problems and the Consultant told her to try and relax more and have drink the odd glass of wine - so there we go

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 11:58

Thanks Ready4motherhood - that was interesting but makes you think about Drs and what they will and won't let you do and what their reasons are. I so hope that I don't have to go down that route. [scared emoticon].

1n2s - I'm with you. I am going to try and be really good during 2ww (that's if I get one)

Feeling really crampy though so even though I've just got another -opk, I do feel like something is going on.

1n2s · 24/10/2006 12:15

Sorry MrsMcJr- haven't quite got the lingo yet what is OPK? I am also very crampy and am waiting patiently for AF to arrive - I went to GP last week as am getting awful cramps/nausea a week before AF arrives, I've never had this before. Went for stronger painkillers but can't have them as trying for bambino. Had a long chat with GP (who is lovely!) and said everything in moderation, throw out the OTK as they aren't accurate and make sure to BD 2-3times a wk. Also told can ovulate and conceive anytime between day 9 and 19 (didn't know you can also conceive 4 days after ovulation). So the OTK which are ruling my life will not be replecd this month. I have decided to chill out as this is only my 6/7th month and I am like a woman obssessed think its coz I'm 34 I worry times not on my side

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2006 13:48

1n2s - sorry OPK is same as OTK so all you said made me feel better too!

I know people who OV way past CD19 by the way. I didn't know that you could conceive 4 days after OV, I thought the egg was dead within 24 hours and so it is only going to happen if there is sperm there to meet the egg (which could have been up to 5 days before) or on the day of OV or the morning after if you're lucky. I know that BD and conceiving can happen days apart though.

Good luck with the chilling out, I try but fail

endlesslove · 24/10/2006 13:51

Good afternoon ladies

Well CD22 for me. Not much to report apart from feeling no different. Feeling bit down today as I hate the 2ww. Its such a horrid time as its just luck and there is nothing more I can do this cycle to give me my wish of being pregnant.

Sorry to be so negative. Now I've let of some steam I am sure I'll feel better soon.

How are you all doing?

Bodkin · 24/10/2006 14:33

Hello all, back on the radar again - liked the roll-call MrsMcJnr! I'm impressed you worked out which cd I'm on, I have to count it on my fingers every time!

Had great weekend in London (thanks for asking RachelRose - Hennes is my weakness, followed by supermarket sweep in Primark for basics) Went to the cinema, shopped, drank far too much than is considered sensible for TTC (got me worried now all those posts about 4 units a week or something, ho hum...) and gossipped shamelessly. Then have had another friend staying at mine since Monday morning with her DD (2.6y) and DS - 3 months and soooo gorgeous and smiley. hope what they say about hanging out with breastfeeding mums and babies helping ttc is true!

Completely confused about what's happening this cycle - v.early EWCM, then sore boobs Sat night and sunday (is that a sign of OV?) then more EWCM Monday. Managed to get a bit of BD in before and after my weekend but not really sure where I'm at. Feel quite chilled this cycle though and very que sera sera about it, which makes a nice change.

Just seen the time, gotta dash - hope you're all ok and hanging in there

saf1 · 24/10/2006 14:52

Hi all,

I'm now on CD 14 and according to the ovulation online chart I'm very fertile today.
Was woken up at 4.15am by dd1 who was totally wet through and she carried on getting up and going back to bed until 5.50am and then didn't want to wake when alarm clock went off. Bless.
So as I was awake and DH went to play basketball last night and didn't wake me (as requested) I woke him to b'd this am.
So I'm off for reflexology tonight and hope I'm not to knackered to b'd tonight or dh for that matter
Hope you're all well.
lol

loujay · 24/10/2006 15:35

Hi,
Can I join this thread??
I am on CD21 and, although am charting for the first time this month it appeared that I had not ovulated..........but I have very sore breasts and did BD at the time when I thought I might be ovulating. Also was very nearly sick this morning.
Can't test until Thursday at the earliest, DH thinks its hysterical as I have been saying "no ovulation means no baby" and now may be PG!!
Will let you know

ready4motherhood · 24/10/2006 15:37

Sorry ladies I feel guilty for posting what I read about the alcohol limits. I wish I hadn't now! I'm sure that is an overly cautious limit!!

1n2s · 24/10/2006 16:05

Ready4motherhood - don't worry, it was good to have a quick read of the NICE guidance. It is however only a government guideline so it will say the minimum limit. I will be better behaved next month. Did you read the bit about the OTK's not being accurate - again they're just a guide for us ladies I guess. We've got to have some idea when to go for the BD'ing - haven't we? Me and DH would be knackered if we had to BD every night!! ;)

MrsMcJr - I know, it was news to me re being able to get PG 4 days after ovulation. As much as I'm trying to remain calm about the whole PG thing as I know I will never get PG if stressing about it -its easier said than done DH also v broody ;)

Day 2 of period pains and no sight of AF - what an earth is going on with my body??

Bang on MrsMc - CD20 for me today. Not much hope though with dh being away so much of the month and me being completely clueless about when I ovulate .

No ograpefruit juice or cough medicine for me this month either - didn't think it was worth it.

I was planning to spend this month reading the TCOYF book and working out my ovulation, but was so busy it didn't happen.
