AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

1n2s Dianette was the only thing that worked for me, when the doctor tuck me off it 2 1/2 years ago I went back to her (after 2 months as spots had came back) and asked her why she tuck me off them, she told me that it CAN cause clots in your legs, I asked her weather I was at risk of this as I don't drink, don't smoke, eat right, at I very good weight (7 1/2- 8 stone), my BP was good, she said no I wasn't really at risk so I bullied her to put me back on them, best thing I did. I've been off them since TTC which is 17 months now, and ended up with ACNE again but I've got this "benzamycin gel" from the doctor good stuff I've had the best skin this week, the best I've had in 10 months. I was wearing it just a few hours before bed, as it's not nice to wear and didn't really work, but this week I started wearing it over night, and it's done the trick in that little time!

Happy weekend ladies!

Came on to see if there was any chat and there is Amestar - I'm with Rubles, I think you have done it and so I'll whisper congrats and wait until that line gets stronger - keep us posted!

Ready4Motherhood - hope you are getting lots of baby cuddles in!

Sideways - I might be wrong but if you OV on CD10, you would get -opk on CD11 wouldn't you as LH would be gone? I think the text book answer on the CM is dry for a few days after AF then sticky, then creamy then EWCM leading up to OV and then dry again but most of us are not like that!

JL2 - thanks for checking up on me!

Hello Rubles Hellp Minshu, hope your weekend has got off to a bang .

1n21 - I am exactly the same re the skin. Hands up, it is not bad really, just a few on my forehead and chin and some very sore ones along my jaw but I am used to having totally clear skin so it is getting me down. I am on my 5th cycle after coming off the pill, the forst few cycles were fine but the last few, I have had these spots especially around OV (which must make me very attractive to DH!) I had the Eve Lom treatment before for the odd zit and it really zapped them so think I'll get some more, expensive but worth it!

Babymad - my sister was given that gel when she had acne as a teenager but is it right that you can only use it for a wee while as it can effect your liver?!

Babydust and positive vibes to one and all and thank you for caring about me when I felt low a few days ago

Babymad2DS · 21/10/2006 14:06

MrsMcJur dont know about the gel, have to look into it! but when something works once clear you should carry on taking it for other 6 months after, thats what doctors recamend!

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2006 14:10

Babymad - I am talking about 10 years ago so maybe they've altered the product, I did not mean to scare you and I am sure your Dr would be telling you if there were any risks, sorry, last thing you need is me worrying you about something else. So sorry. By the way, you sound tiny and weigh so little, how tall are you? I am v

Amester · 21/10/2006 14:35

Af does definately seem to be here now (sorry to be graphic - have properly started bleeding now) and i've just done another test and negative! I can't believe I had a cross on the test I did yesterday - it was a Clear Blue one as well so won't be buying them again!!

What a stressful and confusing day!

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2006 14:39

Amestar - sorry hugs

Babymad2DS · 21/10/2006 14:40

MrsMcJur I'm 5 foot 2 inch and my weight is about 7 stone 9 DH is 5 foot 5 and 8 1/2 stone, we are little, sometimes when someone comes to the door they ask us weather our parents are in , I'm one day older than DH and i dont let him forget it, lol!

1n2s · 21/10/2006 14:45

I don't use anything but over the counter remedies - found a good one now so will stick to it. Yes I came off Dianette last year as my new GP said it was horribly strong and v old fashioned, she suggested Yasmin which was great. Oh life is so easy on the pill, no horrendous periods pains and bad skin Got to go for ultra sounds scan to rule out polycystic ovaries as skin shouldn't be bad at my age - have regular cycles tho so hopefully fertility ok

Babymad2DS · 21/10/2006 18:17

I'm being tested for PCOS on the 8th nov as i have a couple of things are pointing to me having PCOS but we'll see!

desperate2bmum · 22/10/2006 10:39

a/f is here

not posting much as really not in the mood have had rather a few tears this morning its so depressing!

ready4motherhood · 22/10/2006 11:31

Hi ladies! My friends have just left for their ridiculously long journey home and I am even more desperate for a BFP in November!!!!
Their little girl is just adorable. Her smile just lights up the room!! The best thing was how smitten DH was. He is very keen to start a family, but seeing his face when he was interacting with the babe was utter joy!
Am I beaming? Tee hee.

The only thing I will say... I am utterly exhausted

Sorry to hear about AF desperate2bmum(hug)

Hope everyone has had a fab weekend! Here's to BFPs in November!!

Babydust x

MrsMcJnr · 22/10/2006 14:35

Oh Desperate big hugs.

Babymad - PMSL at your story about people at your door DH is 6 weeks younger than me but because I am Dec and he is Feb, he never lets me forget that I was born the year before him!

Ready4motherhood - sounds like you had a lovely time

I am really fed up we have been doing tons of BDing but I am getting -OPKs still and I should have OV sometime between yest and Monday. I am CD17 and nothing. Hope this isn't going to be a non-starter month, not had an annovulatory (sp!) cycle before. Will see what tomorrow brings!

desperate2bmum · 22/10/2006 17:14

thanks for your sympathies.

dp took me out for lunch and i am now drowning my sorrows with a lager..BECAUSE I CAN!
have felt so sorry for myself today its unreal but now i have decided i am going to not obsess anymore. i am not doing opks and going to really try hard with the temping and nothing more. i have found an accupuncturist in my area so am going to give that a whirl and if no joy before january its a trip to the doctors.

mrsmcjnr - i had a anovulatory month the one before last and it does get you beside yourself with panic doesnt it. how long are your cycles? there still might be time.

ready4motherhood - sounds like you had a fab weekend and dont you just love it when you see you dp gooey over a baby..i do! they act so manly and macho but put a baby in front of them and they go all mushy!

RachelRose · 23/10/2006 08:37

Hi everyone, Sorry for the AF's Amester and Desperate Desperate, glad your DP treated you to lunch, you sounded better and more upbeat in your last post. It sounds a good idea to drop OPK's, I haven't used them this month and have just been temping - definately feel more relaxed than last month.

Ready4motherhood - sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

MrsMcJ - Any update on OV today? Maybe its just a bit later this month.

I'm on CD11 - pre-seed arrived and we used it over the weekend. Me and DH really like it!!! My plan will be to BD every other day from now on this month, but it may be tricky as between work, late shifts, and going out we're hardly going to see each other this week. I'm sure we'll manage to squeeze it in tho

How was your fab weekend Bodkin? Did you raid Topshop?

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 09:13

Morning ladies - wet and miserable this morning isn't it?!

Hi Desperate - I think it it's only right that we give ourselves time to feel sorry for ourselves when AF arrives, cow that she is! I have thought about going down the acupunturist route too but after how down I got last week, I have pushed my Chinese Medicine book to one side and am not reading anything TTC related at the moment. I have set January as the time I'll go and see the Dr too if nothing has happened by then as that will be 7 cycles, not many in the scheme of things but enough to get me worried.

I don't think I have had an anovulatory cycle before. Since I came off the pill at the end of June, I have always OV between CD16 & 18 and my cycles have varied between 27 & 28 days. I am CD18 today and no temp shift, CM behaving strangely and -OPKs (though not done one today yet). I am very, very moody today too - partly because DH promised me we'd BD if we watched Prime Suspect first and then told me he was too tired, I couldn't get to sleep for ages as I was so cross, particularly as all the BD we got in last week now appears to have been premature (that's if I do OV this cycle) grrr

Hello RachelRose Hope you had a lovely weekend at your folks! Glad you like the pre-seed

Re OPKs, I was reading the instructions on mine again at the weekend in case I am doing something wrong and it said to leave the sample for 20 mins before testing - do any of you actually do that?

How are the rest of the ladies today?

rubles · 23/10/2006 10:06

Amester - really, really sorry your AF came. And I apologise for getting maybe getting your hopes up, I felt awful when I saw you'd got your AF after the faint line that you had. Sorry.

MrsMc - you sound really stressed. I know that explosive anger/panic that you get from not BDing when you think it is the time..have been there before, oooh yes. Do you think the amount of stress you are under might be delaying ov?
Btw, I don't have to wait 20 minutes with my opk kits.

Desperate2bmum, sorry about your AF. If you do go to an acupuncturist and you take your temps along with you, you'll probably find that they are very interested in them. Mine is.

Rachelrose - I know what you mean about the pre-seed. We only used it once, but it was a good experience.

I managed to only drink 4 units of alcohol this weekend, so am doing really well (although I'm meant to be limiting myself to 2 units at the weekend, it's still pretty good). That's over 2 weeks now of low alcohol consumption, so I'm pleased with myself.
Dp is off for his sperm test on Friday so we were meant to dtd yesterday as a last 'hoorah', but didn't because he had his bike stollen in the morning and had so spend over £300 on bike/locks/lights/child seat, hence was too p*d off and was very quiet all day.

1n2s · 23/10/2006 10:22

AF due in 4 days so thought I'd try PT as got one free with OTK. Definate negative so the gloom will commence shortly I'm sure.

mrsmcjunior and desperatemum2b - sounds like I'm a just cycle ahead of you ladies. I have a scan in 2 weeks and then its blood tests in December for if nothings happening.

RE: OTK - the best ones I find are First Response -it gives you a definate line and quickly, also gives you a free PT which is lethal, hense my early testing.

What is pre-seed?

desperate2bmum · 23/10/2006 10:45

mrsmcjnr - thats what i thought too regarding docs it will be 7 cycles for me aswell and xmas will be out the way and fingers crossed should have 3 months worth of temps. i am going into my 5th cycle now,,cd2
its just so bloody annoying that i got pg sooo easy before and its just dragging and my head is just full of what ifs...but cant turn back the clock so its onwards and upwards from now on. my mum put me on ease a bit this month because she said if i did fall this cycle no family would be around for "due date" as they are all off on summer holidays! so thats slightly worrying it would just be me and dp going it alone!

rubles - i have only got 2 days worth of temps so far - i dont think the accupuncturist will draw much from that hehe.

mrsmcjnr - what are you taking to aid conception this month.....ive dropped everything except folic acid. might use pre-seed too.

ready4motherhood · 23/10/2006 11:00

MrsMcJnr - All I can say is "SKYPLUS" or "VIDEO RECORDER"... it's the perfect compromise... record Prime Suspect, whilst BDing... then afterwards chill out with a cup of something warm and Prime Suspect!!!! Then if DH is too tired by then, Prime Suspect can be saved for another day (oh and have you OV'd yet? - there may be time for BDing tonight!)

RachelRose, Desperate2bmum, MrsMcJnr - Yeah, it was a wonderful weekend... lots of wide eyed big expressions and positive reactions. And I find myself singing the theme song to Fifi and The Flower-thingys at the most inoportune moments "fiiifiiiiiiiiiii" oh yeah, and I did get wee-ed on - which was a bit of a shock

1n2s - Pre-seed is a lubricant, that is friendly to sperm, unlike KY etc. A few of the ladies on here recommend it. I have not used it myself so cannot give an opinion. Sorry to hear about your BFN, but it is still early, so fingers crossed.

Babydust to all xxx

RachelRose · 23/10/2006 12:24

Oooh, Prime Suspect was good wasn't it! Its got me in the mood to watch the other ones now. Sorry that it got in the way of BD MrsMcJ, but there are still chances if you haven't OV'd yet. I think rubles could be right, maybe the stress you've been under has delayed things, so keep an eye on it.

Ready4motherhood - Yes, Fifi is particularly catchy isn't it. My DS loves it! Speaking of wee's he did his first wee in his potty this morning! I know he's 2.6yrs but he's never managed it before so am very proud (the fact that he poo'd on his own foot 5 mins before has been conviniently forgotten!)

I've only used pre-seed once but would recommend it. Its nice to find a ttc aid thats really enjoyable. Hopefully we'll be using it tonight

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 12:33

Hello Rubles I am a bit stressed generally but I'm ok and still staying quite positive. It is just annoying that I don't even appear to be OV this cycle. Thanks for understanding! Very impressed by your low alcohol consumption - I have been cutting back too but not as much as you! Your poor DP, mine was furious when that happened to him.

Hi 1n2s - It's not over yet! Let us know how you get on with the scan.

Desperate - DH and I are meant to be moving to Spain in October next year and I really want to have our first here (am too scared to have it over there after reading some things about Spanish births!) I know you can't control these things but I am getting so sad that my dreams of telling my parents and grandparents at NY that I am pregnant are fading. They live abroad so that is the first time and last time I'll see them in the flesh, probably until next Oct!

This cycle, I have been taking EPO, B6, pre-natal vits and grapefruit juice. I gave up on the cough mixture. We have also used pre-seed a few times. I have also just started taking Royal Jelly.

Ready4motherhood - we do have skyplus but he still wanted to watch it!! You are right, there is always tonight but I was hoping to get a really good run at it this month (though there might not be anything there to run at!)

Babydust and positive vibes to you all - we will all get those BFPs sometime soon

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 12:37

Sorry RachelRose, crossed with you and am about to text you back! Prime Suspect was good, I felt less of an alchy watching that! PMSL at your DS's poo , great work with the pee in the potty though!!

endlesslove · 23/10/2006 13:34

Hi ladies

How are we all feeling today?

Mrs you sound a bit happier than last week, sorry I couldn't post but I really was thinking of you. You sounded extremely low. However, you still don't sound 100% so I wish you good wishes and hope you manage to fit some bd in sometime soon. Did you ovulate today?

Desperate2bmum - keep you chin up love. You are probably at the worst part of the cycle and the first few days of af arriving, you just want to hide under a big duvet. Thinking of you.

How is everyone else today?

I am on my 4th cycle of ttc and no luck. I think I am on the same as you Mrs? I am CD21 today and on the 2ww. I hate it! Bit worried as I don't feel any different.

Anyone know what CD you started noticing changes from falling pregnant?

Babydust to all
xx

desperate2bmum · 23/10/2006 13:38

mrsmcjnr - i know exactly what you feel. i cant wait to tell my grandparents i am pg again as i am extremely close to them. my nan must have knitted a whole carrier bag full of things already! she started on my last pregnancy and still hasnt stopped!

i have booked my accupuncture appointment for wednesday at 3:30 she didnt sound very convincing on the phone that it actually would help but im going along anyway purely just for relaxation have been way too hung up past few months i can say ttc has really taken over my life. a day doesnt go past where i dont talk about it.

desperate2bmum · 23/10/2006 13:42

endless my symptoms didnt start until day period was due and my god did they really kick off then! sore boobs and extreme tiredness all the way!

your right though first few days are the worst but then not long til ov and then the 2ww just such a viscious circle!

mrsmcjnr - forgot to say spain!!! you lucky devil. my dp lived out there for 3 years in a village called sax near alicante. where are you thinking of going and what will you do for work?

havnt heard any birthing stories from spain but from what you have said dont think i would want to know...
