This is a thread for ladies who have been ttc longer than 10 months who have started the ball rolling with tests and treatments. We are all here to support each other though these darker days to the baby shaped light at the end of the tunnel!

Ah I know how you feel view! I'd been job hunting since my mmc in February, partly to distract myself from all the stress of ttc and partly because I hate my job, but after six months of getting nowhere I've given up. The constant rejection on top of not being able to get pregnant made me feel like such a failure. Be kind to yourself today, get yourself some chocolates or wine (or both), or whatever else might make you feel a bit better Flowers.

Welcome vap, I think one day probably won't make too much difference to your results.

Sorry to hear some of you are still having man trouble, hopefully this will be a better week!

I'm waiting for my blood results from Friday to see if a) I have finally ovulated, which my chart suggests I have, and b) if I need another 'day 21' test. I should be in the 2ww wait now, and about the only good thing about that is that I don't have to dtd anymore! Hmm

Mam31 · 06/10/2014 11:09

Hi ladies, sorry have been awol for so long, have tried not obsessing and have failed badly. Following my hsg we had our fertility consultation as all tests are now complete. All my results are perfect but it has only just been mentioned (months later!!) that DH SA has shown 20% antisperm antibodies and we have been placed on a year long waiting list for IVF. We are devastated, and despite being told that 80% do not have antibodies and to keep ttc while we wait for IVF, I just feel that we will not concieve naturally.

Sorry for the self indulgent post. I see some of you are starting IVF soon, I wish you all the luck in the world.

victoria401 · 06/10/2014 12:24

mama I consider myself a mini expert on antisperm antibodies now after our false diagnosis earlier this year. Its only considered an issue (significant) if over 40% are affected. I wouldn't get too disheartened hun. It IS still possible. A lady on my facebook page conceived after her hubby was told he had 90% on one sa and 95% on another! It only takes one! Sorry your wait for treatment is a year long, bloody post code lottery.

Goodness, only 48hours until my appointment! Feel sick with nerves already!

Mam31 · 06/10/2014 13:11

Thank you Vic! I so needed to hear that! And sorry haven't had time to catch up, what is your appointment in 48hrs???

Mam31 · 06/10/2014 13:12

Ps where can I find this on the Web re the 40% everywhere is telling me over 10% is a problem!

lildottie · 06/10/2014 13:59

mam get him on vit c and zinc. we were told the bit c helps stop free radicals so the goof sperm have a chance rather than being hindered by the BSD ones so much. x

xBlueberry88x · 06/10/2014 14:46

Afternoon Ladies,

Ginger Definately go back and ask for day 3 blood tests. Make sure they do everything they are supposed to!

Laura I dont blame you for being pissed at your DH id have been the same luckily my dp is very tight with money lol

Vicky I have you tried spicing things up a bit? get a nice outfit some toys anything to make it interesting. I bought a pvc outfit for over ovulation it worked a charm I tell ya!! FX for you appointment

On the subject of men gagging for it, my dp can go through a phase of not wanting it at all but luckily its fairly rare, we still very much enjoy dtd.

Vap I was on depo for 10 years, AF came back after 7 months we then started ttc, 18 months down the line and im not ovulating. Gynae have just prescribed me clomid to start soon. A day either side for blood test shouldnt make to much difference I wouldnt worry to much.

View Sorry your feeling a bit glum im also waiting for AF its horrible isnt it!

Metal FX results are good!

Mam Sorry to hear your news but as Vicky says theres always a chance fx for you!!

Well I am currently a day late as ovia tells me ive been crampy on and off for last few days but nothing has appeared. Ive had globs of EWCM and was off ill for a few days expecting her arrival soon.

victoria401 · 06/10/2014 15:35

I think you'll be our next bfp blue fx

Mama over 40% was significant in our report. Yes get him to take extra vitamin C.

OP posts:
Mam31 · 06/10/2014 15:43

Thankyou vic and lil. Yes he is on a lot of vits including 1000mg vit C since we got the news and was already on vit c, zinc and wellmans. Hopefully the extra vit c helps to do something!

Blue sounds good! We need a bfp on here so badly! Good luck!!!

Lil does your DH have antibodies?

cooperG · 06/10/2014 17:52

Evening all, sorry there's been no good news for any of us yet :/

vic, was there someone else with an appointment on the same day as yours?

Mine's on Thursday, dreading it :( she's going to tell me assisted conception is next and I know it sounds daft, but I so wanted to be able to do this in our own. Feeling rubbish, again, and I feel like dh's patience is starting to run out with me feeling sorry for myself every other week.

Hope everyone's ok Thanks

victoria401 · 06/10/2014 20:21

Yes cooper lil has. I'm dreading being told I need the laparoscopy. That will delay things massively. No idea how long the wait would be for that.

Cd12 and still no nookie :-#

So I got my blood results this afternoon and my GP is referring me to a gynae, but I'm wondering if any of you knowledgeable ladies can help me with the result of my progesterone test: it was done one day after I think I ovulated and the level was 15.9. Now obviously for a standard day 21 test this would be far too low, but as it was done at 1dpo instead of 7dpo I'm wondering if this level is normal?

My GP didn't order another progesterone test at what would be the equivalent of day 21, but as he is referring me anyway I'm not too bothered about it because by the time I get an appointment I'll probably have to get all the tests done again...

lildottie · 06/10/2014 22:12

metal at 1dpo the test is pointless. I'd press for another test now anyway so the gynae has true picture. you don't want them going down the clomid route if your actually ovulating fine and pushing for test now will save time later. see a different go if you have to.

mam I got so emotional in the appointment I didn't take it all in but dh remembers then saying there was clumping (which I think is the antibodies thing, Vic) and that the clumping was what the vit c was for.

blue ...poas! Grin bad influence

cooper don't feel bad about having to go down the assisted conception route. you use a microwave to bypass long cooking times, a calculator to help you add up faster, online delivery of your supermarket shopping....ivf is just a means to an end. it doesn't mean failure or anything like that, it means speeding up the journey. Thanks

Metalhead · 07/10/2014 07:44

I suppose you're right lil, I should really ask for another test. Will try and ring him later and see what he says.

Any sign of AF yet blue?

Mam31 · 07/10/2014 08:09

Lil I know what you mean about getting emotional, we were in so much shock we couldn't even ask a single question. I sat with tear filled eyes saying nothing and that is not how I thought I would be! That's interesting that you were told about the vit c though. We were just told that DH has 20% antibodies that are clumping his sperm but that 80% of his sperm is not clumping. Whilst that sounds ok, she then said IVF would be our best chance and put us on the waiting list. I should be getting an appointment with the fertility clinic prior to Christmas and I feel I will be more prepared to ask questions then and that the clinic will also offer more specialised advice.

Lil I also love your attitude to IVF, speeding things up like a microwave/calculator etc you are so very right!

Vic good luck for you appointment! X

Lauraqc · 07/10/2014 08:16

I think you'll be just fine Mam, hopefully putting you on the waiting list will be the Sod's law sign for your body to just get on with falling pg!!

Lil I had no bad feelings toward IVF before, now I practically want it after your synopsis of it!!! Love it...!

Metal I have no idea re bloods etc - am in the midst of confusion myself in sure (when I finally get out of work early enough to collect them at Drs)...

Hope you're feeling ok and ready for tomo Vic

Mam31 · 07/10/2014 11:09

Thanks laura I hope you are right. I'm really trying my best to live life and not put anything on hold, but as you all know there's good days and bad days!

Good luck with your results ill check in later!

bezzathebug · 07/10/2014 12:05

Hi ladies

Can I join you? Been trying to conceive for 26 months with no joy. I did get pregnant after 9 months but found out I had had a missed miscarriage at the 12 weeks scan. I have a septate uterus (I knew this before the pregnancy) and since the pregnancy I have found out I have severe endometriosis. I'm booked in for a laparoscopy to have the endo removed in December and am hoping that will help me get pregnant again.

Our GP has referred us to the fertility clinic but we're waiting for the initial appointment. Been waiting 3 months already. Is that normal in everyone's experience? All the tests that the GP did on me were fine. She didn't test Mr Bezza as (in her words) "there were enough problems to deal with with my endo and womb". So Mr Bezza is off for a private sperm test next week as I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with him before I have the laparoscopy.

Sorry, that's a rather long history. Am I at a similar sort of stage to anyone else on here?

Mam31 · 07/10/2014 13:40

Hi Bezza! Yes you are at a very similar stage to a lot of us as we all are about to undertake tests, have just had them completed or are on the waiting list for treatment. I'm sorry to hear about your mc thats so hard for you I'm sure. But hopefully Mr bezza's sperms are good if they have previously fertilised the egg!

Good luck!

Metalhead · 07/10/2014 13:42

Welcome to the club bezza. I've had a mmc too in February this year and I'm just having initial bloods done, GP is now referring me to the gynae team.

I managed to talk him into repeating the progesterone test this week, so we'll see what that says.

lildottie · 07/10/2014 14:57

excellent metal what do will it be thus time?

welcome bezza. lots of knowledge amongst us here. its nice to be able to vent with ppl who understand and get questions answered when the GPS know squat!

lildottie · 07/10/2014 14:57

what dpo not what do!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 07/10/2014 15:00

Hello I just thought I'd update you to let you know I got a BFP last Thursday. Completely delighted as we've been trying since December. Just wanted to let you all know. Hope everyone is ok. I took soy isoflavones for my 2nd cycle and I think it did the trick Wink

Metalhead · 07/10/2014 15:01

I'll be 7dpo this time so should be more accurate.

lildottie · 07/10/2014 15:42
