This is a thread for ladies who have been ttc longer than 10 months who have started the ball rolling with tests and treatments. We are all here to support each other though these darker days to the baby shaped light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi all. Checking in and sadly no BFP here either. Lots of family upset at mo with dad going into care home etc and so haven't had time or inclination to think about TTC. No dtd for about 5 weeks I think now...but still no af since August so figuring it's all a bit pointless anyway. Not lost any weight and feeling like a bit fat failure with no joy left in the world. Hence not coming on here too often and obliterating any good vibes going on!!! Hope you're all ok otherwise xx

victoria401 · 20/12/2014 06:40

Big hugs to Laura and lady Hope you get some nicer times soon x x

Af arrived when avengence this morning. Am in a LOT of pain :-( white as a sheet and feel like crap. Have to go to work soon and can't get out of it as there are only 2 of us and a list as long as my arm of things to sort :-(

2 people coming in on Saturday is a new thing at work. It seems to be sorting out the shite from Friday and getting things ready for Monday without all the usual distractions and phone calls we get during the week. No one knows we are open see! Lol

Ah-ha cunning plan, hope you get all your jobs done and its a distraction from feeling awful. Crap crap af....

Landy10 · 20/12/2014 08:39

Hi everyone. I'm still here too - nothing going on while I wait for ivf to start. Next week will be my last ovulation prior to the start.

Sorry AF got you Victoria and it sounds like you have a lot of other things to worry about Laura : (

Lil - you still managing high protein. I've actually found it easier as time goes on. I've had a couple of events this week so not 100% sure I've got my 25% protein this week as a result but I'll be mighty close.

lildottie · 20/12/2014 09:06

sorry vic hope you start feeling better soon.

landy I think I'm doing OK but haven't been as good as I'd like as been so busy. not been filling in app as been so busy, and need to pick up the fruit and water intake. but have stuck to eggs for breakfast, not having rice and pasta with everything, snacking on dried fruit and seeds etc so can't have done too badly. have finished work now so will try and get a bit more focussed again.

Laura sorry to hear about your dad. hope it all calms down soon and he gets settled well. I don't think a break from ttc is a bad thing really. hopefully you'll be one if those "we stopped trying and it happened" types!

Metalhead · 20/12/2014 12:03

Thanks for that info lil and vic, I've had another look around and found a clinic a bit further afield that has an average success rate of 32%, which would be a bit more worth considering.

Sorry AF got you vic, hope you manage to get through work today.

That was really insensitive of your family lady, do they know about your troubles conceiving? Hopefully they'll be better behaved at Christmas!

Metalhead · 20/12/2014 12:05

So sorry to hear about your dad too laura, that must be hard for you all. You're definitely not a failure though, sounds like you've just had a lot on your plate recently.

victoria401 · 20/12/2014 12:25

I feel totally shite and unwell today. Apart from af I feel very sick and shattered :-( Work is busy so going quite fast but I just want to rest my head on the desk! 4.5 hours to go....

We decided to tell some friends and family about our ttc issues to stop all the asking and awkwardness of baby conversations. But it throws up another set of questions and awkwardness. Much of a muchness really...

Ladyboluna · 21/12/2014 18:03

Thanks ladies, lil it was crap, I didn't know what to do or say, there was no good situation. I thought the best one would be for me to just keep it to myself cause then only one person is offended rather than everyone present feeling awkward at the very least. I want to try and play it again with them but I'm worried about looking like a fool as I feel they weren't very interested. Metal yes they know we're TTC.

AF is due today but hasn't made an appearance yet. Boobs aren't as sore as they usually are but my face is covered in spots like it usually does just before. I'm waiting for confirmation that nothing's happened again, just want it to come already because the suspense is worse. DTD plenty this month but I don't think it'll happen. Bought myself some make-up and told myself to book into a hairdressers ASAP because it's been too long since I've treated myself in that way.

Laura You're not a failure, chin up sister. It's crap that everything seems to come at once, isn't it?

Ladyboluna · 22/12/2014 22:11

Ladies AF is late now. Usually 26 day cycle, the latest it's been is the morning of day 28 and that's after 18 months of trying. It's now night of day 28. Going to do a test in the morning. Probably not this month but you never know.

lildottie · 22/12/2014 22:47

ooh fx lady, keep us posted!

Lauraqc · 22/12/2014 23:16

Thanks everyone! It's been a really rough last 6 months of the year and no wonder af hasn't made an appearance since Aug :(

Watching excitedly Lady!

DH has his blood test tomorrow for Y chromosome deficiency - I've actually got to go with him as he doesn't like needles....doesnt matter that I've been sick 2x per week on the Metformin...!

victoria401 · 23/12/2014 06:44

Good luck testing lady!

Aww poor dh needing his hand held Laura Wink Hope you get good results though x

Merry Christmas eve girls!

Hosting my first Xmas tomorrow and I'm cacking myself! Been awake for hours already, even though I have no work today, worrying myself sick! All I can think about is timings and spuds and trifle.... Argh! Its all silly I know and my friends and family will still love me if its not perfect. I'm just not used to cooking for more than 2 people and I'm a tiny eater so useless with normal person portions! Not got any big pans or serving dishes. Never again!

OP posts:
lildottie · 24/12/2014 09:21

aww Vic try and enjoy it. I send all say 23rd and 24th in kitchen with my mum (we eat Xmas eve night) and its my favourite part if Christmas. just start listing all the things you want to buy for when you do it again. we have a deal that I will start hosting Christmas when I have kids - I can't wait!

merry Christmas eve!

Metalhead · 24/12/2014 09:28

Merry Xmas everyone! (For me it's Christmas today as I'm from the continent, though we are spending it with DH's family in the UK this year.) I've never hosted Christmas myself, we've always been going to my parents or in laws even before we had DD - I'm too lazy to cook for 6 people when I'm on holiday! Grin I'm sure you'll be fine vic, like lil says preparation is everything.

victoria401 · 24/12/2014 13:02

We usually take it in turns to go to my parents or dh's parents. This year it was my parents turn but my mum had recently had a knee replacement and can't stand for long so I offered! I never even do a roast for me and dh on weekends so this is from scratch and a massive deal for me! Age 34 and never made roasties, shame on me!

Happy Xmas ladies, not feeling it much as af arrived right on time this morning :/ hope you all have a lovely day though xx

Landy10 · 25/12/2014 08:11

Merry Christmas ladies! Enjoy the day and good luck to the cooks among us (not me - I'm at MIL and she has already said she has everything in the kitchen down to a tee so no need for help!)

Metalhead · 25/12/2014 12:16

I've just started spotting as well cooper but I knew it was coming, and in fact I'm thinking sod it, I've just had some delicious prosecco and there's some really good wine to be had with lunch, so it's not all bad. Hope you manage to enjoy the day despite the witch's visit.

Yay for +opk laura and well done for dtd, fx it pays off!

lildottie · 25/12/2014 22:36

merry Christmas ladies. hope you've had a good one. only a few more days and 2014 will be over - and we can move into 2015, the year of the bfps!

victoria401 · 27/12/2014 22:35
