Hello ladies, I've been lurking here since the start of the thread, hadn't trusted myself to post, but I've been ttc for 16 months and just got my BFP so thought I'd share my story....
Came off the pill end of July 13, first few cycles were 44 days plus, followed by a couple of 31 day ones...thought things may have been settling down, though had only ever got one positive opk/ post-ov temp rise in those whole few months...then I was thrown a horrendous 145 day cycle, during which time after several trips to the docs, was finally given blood tests and diagnosed with hypothyroidism and told to take Levothyroxine in July. An us scan had also picked up possible PCOs. At around the same time I started taking agnus castus and finally ovulated at the end of the mega cycle. My cycles since July have been sensible 31ish days and my TSH levels had gone down to just over 2 in September. Ever since end of June, cycles indicates ov through temps and this was confirmed by progesterone test in Sept! However, by this time, as we'd reached the year mark, DH had a sperm analysis, which came back as 5 million swimmers, had it redone the following week to find only 3 million. We were pretty devastated, but got referred to FC and had our first consultation last month. The consultant referred me for an HSG and DH to the urologist and to have a scan. I was fully prepared to have to be avoiding alcohol this month due to the pre-HSG antibiotics and DH had just booked his urology appointment when we found out! Against the odds it can happen!
Oh, and we may have experienced a victoria-esque cock up- the consultant noticed the first sperm sample wasn't analysed for over 2 hours, so wondering if the bad news from the first test made him too stressed for the second?
