This is a thread for ladies who have been ttc longer than 10 months who have started the ball rolling with tests and treatments. We are all here to support each other though these darker days to the baby shaped light at the end of the tunnel!

ok ladies scan went okay but he couldnt tell if ive ovulated.

There were definately eggs on one ovary but not big and ready to go.

He couldnt see my other ovary and fallopian tube as there was a shadow so i have to go in for blood test next week to see if I ovulated.

I hate all this waiting.

Metalhead · 21/10/2014 13:15

Sorry to hear that blue, but fx it's good news next week! Seems like all you do is spend your life waiting during this process, doesn't it?

xBlueberry88x · 21/10/2014 13:47

Metal Im not sure I can handle any more waiting im just so tired I was really nervous this morning I was sat in the car and my heart was beating so fast and then the doctor was late and couldnt even tell me anything grrr

cooperG · 22/10/2014 13:25

Fingers crossed for you blue :) I know how you feel re the waiting though. I'm starting my first month of clomid next cycle, onwards and upwards and all that..

Hope everyone's doing ok Thanks

Metalhead · 22/10/2014 13:40

DH managed to deliver the goods for his SA this morning, despite having to produce them in the hospital toilets! Blush Anyone know how long the results should take to come back? (He didn't ask, of course...)

Good luck with the Clomid next cycle cooper.

I'm trying soy isoflavones this month after reading quite a lot of success stories. Not sure if they'll help me as I seem to be ovulating every month, but thought it probably can't hurt to try.

xBlueberry88x · 22/10/2014 14:37

Good luck on the clomid Cooper Ill keep you updated on mine....advice so far is to take it at night as you get less side effects, buy some sperm friendly lube and take something like epo because it dries you up (tmi)

Metal Hope the soy works for you but I have read you need to be careful what day you take it on if you ovulate already...its a natural clomid so can mess with you quite a bit!

Landy10 · 22/10/2014 16:41

Blueberry - I hate waiting too. Good luck for the blood results.
Metal - when my DH had his first test (through GP) we got told to phone up for results 5 working days later. He called up 4 and got the results. The one he just did with the FC - we have to wait till our FC doctor appointment to get the results.
Had my test appointment with the FC today. Got some more blood taken - sounds like for AMH. The nurse woman said for ovarian reserve. I also had an internal ultrasound (lovely!) where she checked if my womb/ovaries (I think) had any cysts. Then she counted follicles and said I have 3 on one side and 2 on the other. I asked her what that meant but she didn't really say and said to speak to the doctor about it. Only thing she said was you want more than 2 - now I'm thinking did she mean more than 2 on each side or together? Why do you never think of the questions at the right time?! This test apparently tells them about ovarian reserve too. Has anyone else had this follicle ultrasound test?
FC doctor appointment booked for 4 weeks time. Guess that's not too long to wait.

Metalhead · 22/10/2014 19:04

blue I am being careful and taking the lowest dose, only from CD4-8 which is supposed to strengthen the egg. If it fucks up my cycle I won't take it again, but I reckon it's worth a shot.

Thanks landy, I'll get DH to ring up middle of next week then as we'll be away.

lildottie · 22/10/2014 21:45

hi all

metal we had to wait 2 weeks for both dhs sa results. I mean both tests... I only have 1 dh Grin

currently in Ibiza for a week so sorry if I don't check in. catch up soon though [Thanks

victoria401 · 23/10/2014 10:22

Hi ladies!

Hope you get some good news about your ov soon blue, must be so frustrating.

Good luck with the Clomid cooper

I had the follicle scan and she said I had one ready to pop any day as it was 16mm and they are ripe between 16-24. I don't remember her saying anything about how many on each side you need! She saw left and right ovary. Also said due to the angle of my cervix I should have half full bladder for insemination at iui to tilt it in the right direction! Weird! Let me know what your amh is landy. Mine was 22.7 which is about right for my age so I was pleased but then I read on one page that 21.97 is the boundary between satisfactory fertility and poor! Feel crap again now!

Good luck with dh's results metal!

Hi everyone, have been pretty busy recently with family visiting at the weekend and then a job interview on tuesday (didn't get it). Nothing much to report as far as ttc goes, still feeling shit about it all, still pissed off at how hard it is to get anywhere with appts around here, even trying to book a private appt is proving to be a nightmare now, no one seems to know anything and I keep getting told different things. Don't want to waste £180 so need to make sure I am going to see the right person and they have all the info they need on me!
My Dr hasn't even been in touch to discuss the results of my ultrasound scan from weeks ago. I know I should contact her to make an appt, but I am just sick of chasing everyone around and it's easier to just bury my head in the sand about it all at the moment. Sad
blue got my fingers crossed for you. Hope you get some positive ov results soon. cooper good luck to you to with the clomid, hopefully we will have some Christmas BFPs!
lil very jealous of your holiday, hope you have a fantastic time though, you deserve it!!
metal what cd are you on now?
I am also on a cocktail of supplement this month, taking EPO which seems to be working wonders already! Still taking seven seas trying for a baby, drinking raspberry leaf tea and took 100mg Soy Isoflavones CD4-8.

victoria401 · 23/10/2014 12:49

Hi ginger sorry you're feeling down. We've all had some shit times :-( can I ask when you're drinking the raspberry leaf tea? I thought it was used to bring on labour and needed to be avoided in ttc coz of mc risks (read back of box in supermarket once)

Someone just posted this on my FB infertility page...

That article is so true, it does feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall, and hitting obstacles every which way I turn!
vic I am only drinking RLT up until ovulation, there are mixed reviews and feelings on its benefits for conception and fertility, but I am only drinking one mug a day, if that, and the tea bags are only 30% raspberry leaves. There is some info here natural-fertility-info.com/red-raspberry-leaf.html and I also read about it in an historical novel that they would brew it up along with nettle to aid fertility.....Hmm Officially gone mad!

Landy10 · 23/10/2014 20:42

Victoria-thanks for the amh and follicle info. I've done a lot of googling and think 5 follicles is rubbish so I'm worried about my amh result (and I have to wait 4 weeks for the results).
What supplements are people taking, if any? While researching about my 5 follicles I read about Royal Jelly making egg quality better so I bought some today and started taking them. Figured what the heck! Already taking pregnacare conception and b complex.

cooperG · 27/10/2014 18:00

Anybody out there..?! Hope you're all ok ladies.

I took my first clomid last night (50mg) and no side effects so far... Fingers crossed!

victoria401 · 27/10/2014 20:01

Lol Cooper. I'm lurking around with not a lot to say! Good luck with the Clomid. I doubtreatment'd have side effects after 24hours. What can happen on it??

We are getting down to some serious shagging in a last ditch attempt to avoid fertility treatment. Cd8 today, bring it on plus the 2 weeks of symptom spotting of course

OP posts:
xBlueberry88x · 27/10/2014 20:58

Not much going on here either had blood test today to see if clomid worked so we shall see.

Cooper I had mood swings but apart from that not much else good luck!

Lauraqc · 27/10/2014 21:14

Hey all. Also lurking with intent. Have just popped a royal jelly tablet and bought some soy isoflavones today. Have had no period again for something like 7 weeks now and about to start popping those too :( what the hell it can't get much worse...

Got private appt booked for 21st Nov and suppose i should stop eating crap and start sexing a bit more before we have to go to that...

Lindsay81 · 28/10/2014 06:35

Hi girls- hope everyone is well. Good luck with the clomid cooper and blue, I feel this is my next stop.

I have my HSG tomorrow on cd11. Is there much point DTD today? I guess anything would be washed away.... Save it up for afterwards? LOL! Any advice for me? Painkillers before, anything I should take?

victoria401 · 28/10/2014 06:44

Lindsay my leaflet said no unprotected sex in the time before hsg. It also said it needed to be before cd10. I guess its ok if you know you ov later. Oh, make sure you can produce a bit of wee in case they want to preg test u like they did me and non! Good luck my luv!

OP posts:
Lindsay81 · 28/10/2014 08:17

Thanks Victoria :) Yeah my leaflet says the same about sex before HSG. I think it's because there have been no studies done on its safety with an embryo. I figure if it's safe to squirt inside a human then it is likely ok but I understand many people would rather be safe than sorry.
Cd7-11 on my leaflet but you're right , I ov late anyway so no worries there.
I can always pee! Lmao!

Ready to get it over with :-/

xBlueberry88x · 28/10/2014 11:37

lindsay take some paracetamol half hour before and take a pad I bled afterwards.

dont go on your own my leaflet advised taking someone and not driving afterwards.

good luck

victoria401 · 28/10/2014 14:00

They gave me a massive pad afterwards, it was about 3cm thick! I'm sure it made me walk funny! Lol! I bled a bit for a few days and had a really random short 25 day cycle. Most unexpected as I ovd normal time. I decided not to ttc that month. You're choice tho I think, we weren't told not to.

Lindsay81 · 28/10/2014 14:25

Thanks girls. Sounds horrible :-(
