The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

stopeating have a look at www.fertilityfriend.com- it's a website (there's a free app as well) that monitors fertility. You plug in your temp every morning and it produces a very satisfying graph of the cycle and tells you when you ovulated (there should be a defined difference in the temps pre and post ovulation). There's more to it than that, but the website also has v comprehensive explanations of all the various fertility signs- enjoy!

Sorry about AF broody, but at least now you know what's what.

Respect for all the dtd ignominious!! We've only done it CD12 & 15 so far, but as I'm still not showing any fertile signs on CD17 I'm not too fussed about it.

Starting to think I might have an anovulatory cycle too sunbathing, which would be about right - just as I'm supposed to be having my progesterone levels checked. Stupid body Angry.

Monten · 17/09/2014 09:36

Sorry about af broody. I know what you mean though, there is something calming about CD1. Onwards and upwards. Here's to an early summer baby instead!

Still nothing here. Still cramping. Feel like I have very bad pmt so just want the damn thing to come now.

Sorry to hear that metal. Everything about ttc after a miscarriage is shit.

I think I might try temping. I've only tried opks once but they didn't work for me. I heard it doesn't work so well if you are a poor sleeper as you need to have had 4 hrs uninterrupted sleep to correctly read the temp. Is this true? Lucky for me I get quite bad insomnia which has got worse after miscarriage, joys, so not sure if its for me.

Metalhead · 17/09/2014 09:52

monten I just started temping last cycle and I often have to get up during the night or early morning to go to the loo, so don't always get the 3 hrs uninterrupted sleep either. Didn't seem to make too much of a difference for me and fertility friend still detected ov at the time I was expecting it.

The only downside with it is that it can't tell you that you're about to ov, only that it's already happened. That's why I'm using opks as well. (And because I'm a bit obsessive Blush.)

Oh fuckety fuck. A bfp! Or rather, a little thin p. It is very faint. I can't really count it yet but all I can think of is that I am goin to have to go through it all over again. And this time in Australia!

Phryn · 17/09/2014 13:53

Hey lurker - congrats on your BFP - however faint the P is.

How long are you in Australia for? Hopefully all will go well and the positive will continue to strengthen. I know it's so hard not to worry about another MC but you could totally be fine. Just try to take each day as it comes and view it as a success each day that passes. Really hoping and praying for a sticky bean for you.

Thanks everyone. Will see how it goes. Australia is for 3 weeks from Tuesday so I will miss all my promised early handholding scans at St Mary's but I suppose they wouldn't affect the outcome anyway and I should be able to get some r n r. Maybe. Have emailed Mr Rai to find out if it's safe to fly. Am half hoping he says no and I get to have my three weeks of leave sat at home instead.

Brummiegirl15 · 17/09/2014 14:17

Congrats lurker!!!! That's fab news. Doesn't matter how faint, a line is a line....
So I am on cd5 - the question is do I opk or not and leave it to fate?
Had a chat with DP and he doesn't like all the pressure of the opk's. To be honest neither do I.

But I admit I'm fucking petrified. The thought of using opk's means a conscious "we are trying again" and the thought of potentially having a 3rd miscarriage is really frightening me. But I want to be pregnant so much.

We could just DTD and see what happens - but what if I keep missing??

Too much going round in my head

longestlurkerever · 17/09/2014 14:54

Thanks Brummie. For what it's worth I have never managed to get on with opks or tempting. I know when I am ovulating because I can feel myself get warmer, have ewcm and, in recent months, ov pain on one side. I also want to jump dh! I have now had five bfps. So I say just go with the flow and try and dtd regularly. You might b able to get dh to agree to that! I understand the fear. For me not trying is no break either though. I still obsess!

Congratulations Lurker, that is fantastic news. Really hope this one sticks for you. Maybe time away and distraction is just what you need.

sarahlou20 · 17/09/2014 16:00

Congratulations longestlurker! That's really lovely news.

Brummie - I'm the same, the opk sticks don't seem to work for me as I keep forgetting to do it some days because of work or whatever. I'm trying not to start temping yet as I think it will stress me out too much. We've just been trying to dtd every 2-3 days through the month but if I go through another couple of cycles with no luck then perhaps I'll consider temping and opks again..

ToriB - I know how you feel. I'm currently on cd50, still no sign of AF and body is definitely teasing me with pregnancy symptoms too but bfn's the past few mornings Confused. I've had these symptoms for over a week now, no idea when I ov'd but just want an answer either way now. Is this what's called the two-week wait??! Going on hols on friday for 10 days so I can see myself packing both pregnancy tests and AF paraphernalia. Argh! FX that your symptoms result in a lovely BFP soon :)

Tranquilitybaby · 17/09/2014 17:37

Congratulations Lurker it's nice to read some good news. X

Treaclepie19 · 17/09/2014 18:13

Congrats lurker!!! :)

Thanks all. No temp rise today Sunbathing :(
I hope we both ovulate this month. It's shit knowing your body isn't playing along.

longestlurkerever · 17/09/2014 18:34

Thanks all. Feels very different from every other time. Don't feel excited at all. Perhaps that will help me stay calm. And for those with pregnancy symptoms but bfns I felt very weird a week or more ago then symptoms eased and I got bfns on fri and sun before bfp today so it's possible! Though i have been disappointed other months. Will keep fx for you.

Fergie11 · 17/09/2014 18:34

Congratulations lurker x

StopEatingThatMud · 17/09/2014 19:17

Oh congratulations lurker !

Thanks greysar and everyone else with temping info. Will take a proper look once DD is in bed.

I'm on day 20something of WTF cycle and feeling horribly bloated and snappy, so half expecting AF to make an imminent appearance. Also gone right off dtd and just want to be left alone to grump which never got anyone pregnant did it?!

Boozle80 · 17/09/2014 19:30

Brummie I know exactly what you mean - part of me is shitting myself getting pregnant again - we've decided not to try try until after the tests but if it happens, it happens. Whenever DP comes near me I crap myself (not literally as that wouldn't help anything!) it's like reluctant shagging as I'm terrified of MC #4 but as DP says, getting pregnant is kind of key in the process!
