Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Happy shagging shaggers!

dulcet I hope you had a fabulous day and fingers crossed the wedding night was fruitful Grin

AF has fled and I've made a dtd chart for the next 40 days. Eeeek!

DulcetMoans · 19/08/2013 08:13

Oh it really was guys, such a great day. I am so pleased it all went so well! Honeymoon tomorrow, might take a sneaky pg test in case I need it while I'm out there...!

Whats a DTD chart then? The dates you want to DTD so DP knows?

pizzaqueen · 19/08/2013 08:36

happy Monday everyone Hmm

dulcet so pleased you had a great day. Enjoy the honeymoon and lots of JSing.

I hate my body, just as I start to think I know what it's doing it throws something else at me. I thought af had finished Saturday, nothing on Sunday so decided to get the cape back on (it was dark) and when we finished there was blood everywhere looked like a crime scene I am so Blush embatrassed as I really thought af had gone.Blush Has anyone else had this? DP said it def didn't come from him although we were quite erm enthusiastic!

Minion · 19/08/2013 08:52

broody
Welcome! You'll fit right in! Tell us about yourself.

ZingWantsCake · 19/08/2013 08:57

pizza not sure

my AFs are 2 days heavy bleeding, 1-2 days light bleeding then it stops like it's cut with a knife.
1-2 days nothing then 3-5 days brownish reddish pinkish spotting/ flow ensues. whatever that is I don't know, but it's weird.

fifi669 · 19/08/2013 09:48

pizza my body does that! It's like a half time break before the last day of blood. I've also been caught out and in my post dtd starfishing smugness prob only needed a chalk outline to fit perfectly in CSI.
Hoping not to get there this month. positive OPK icing this weekend, dtd Wednesday, Friday and this weekend until the poor man was spitting out mere sperm dust. We can def say it wasn't through lack of trying if its not our month!

EssieSaysRelax · 19/08/2013 10:37

Morning viroids. Welcome Troody, yes do tell us about yourself.

Dulcet congrats, glad you had a fab time, where are you off on hm? (sorry if I've missed that up fred).

Zing the hot tub sounds amazing! Enjoy!

I'm twotting now. Iced some time last week or at the weekend, got fed up of opks, did a couple early last week, got one vaguely pos one and had cape on ever since.

PrincessKitKat · 19/08/2013 14:04

Grin sperm dust!

Ah good luck ladies on your TWOTs. Fx for you all.

Redshoes56 · 19/08/2013 16:35

dulcet glad to hear that you had a wonderful wedding day. I have my fingers crossed for a wedding-morning baby for you!

Welcome, broody - you have definitely come to the right place. Too much OPKing can make you mental. I think I got to a point where I was literally peeing on everything. DH was afraid if he sat still too long, he might get hit with a stream as well.

zing I will have all the tests during my next cycle (blood work, hoohah dye xray), and we should go straight to IUI the cycle after that (October-ish). Then again, I could get a BFP in the meantime and call the whole thing off (wishing, hoping...)! The nurse at the office said she's seen it happen. Grin In the TWOT now and trying to keep my mind occupied.

BroodyTroody · 19/08/2013 18:28

Well...

I'm 23 and DH is 26, and we've been ttc#1 for 6(ish) months which I know is not long at all!

I was using OPKs for about 4 months but they started to take over my life so I've given up.

We're both on a bit of a health kick because we know being overweight won't help at all.

I'm not sure of some of the acronyms so please bare with me!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone Thanks

Bearfacedchic · 19/08/2013 18:37

Hello All! I'm back! Italia was beautiful and I had a fantastic time.

Glad you had a lovely time at your wedding Dulcet - huge congrats! And here's hoping you will need that HPT that you're slipping into your luggage. Have a lovely honeymoon.

Red - glad to hear you got through your appointment ok and that things are moving along swiftly for you. Hope you get a BFP before though. We're hoping the same!

I was supposed to have my HSG this week, but there weren't any consultants available on the days I needed to do it, so I have to wait until next month now which is really annoying as I'm going to have to ask for a day off work for it in about my second week in a new job. Hmm Not sure how that will go down. I think I'll have to ring them this week and let them know in advance even though I don't have an appointment.

Glad to hear everyone is ticking along well!

Bearfacedchic · 19/08/2013 18:38

Hi Troody! Welcome!

Bearfacedchic · 19/08/2013 18:46

Bear Does this work?

Bearfacedchic · 19/08/2013 18:46

Ah - it does! Yay! We should all have our own emoticons. Plus, where's the cape one?

AuntieMaggie · 19/08/2013 19:25

I'm considering giving up after a crap w/e :(

What I've just read on another thread hasn't helped - does sperm really take 7 hours to reach the egg???

Curly86 · 19/08/2013 21:38

auntie all the websites I've looked at studied intently give different timescales from 30mins to 24 hours, I guess at most they have to swim probably 8 inches? Surely it couldn't take them that long? I can walk a mile in 20 mins so 8 inches should be easy especially as the sperms get a rocket start!

AuntieMaggie · 19/08/2013 22:00

Curly that made me smile :)

I just want to be pregnant now please.

fifi669 · 19/08/2013 22:29

Obviously just a hypothetical question.... Hmm

If some naughty person used OPKs this month, had positives Saturday/Sunday but negative today, does that mean that I that she would be in the TWOT or that the egg has dropped and there's another 24 window?

ZingWantsCake · 20/08/2013 00:31

princess

Grin @ sperm dust as well

or baby gravy ad MrZing calls it!Grin

ZingWantsCake · 20/08/2013 00:35

fifi

my very limited knowledge is that we are fertile for 3-4 days either side of ovulation, which peaks at the time egg is being released.

so I'd say you are still fertile, worth a go in the next 48 hrs (sooner than later)

ZingWantsCake · 20/08/2013 00:54

Auntie and Curly

it's not as simple as that. when the sperm (and there will be max 15-20 tops, more likely 5-10! ) reach the fallopian tube they can survive for upto 3-4 days there waiting for the egg to be released!

a few years ago there was a fantastic programme on tv " The big sperm race"
I don't know if you can watch it on YouTube or anywhere else, and it might be repeated on tv anyway.

It's amazing.
it follows the journey of the sperm from release to conception, from the POW of the sperm!
and for us to understand how challenging it is to reach the egg the whole thing is very visual and in proportion - there are people dressed as sperm running through a huge valley (vagina) then get attacked by the woman's antibodies. there are ladders (EWCM) at the cervix to help to sperm through the womb etc.

it is fascinating and very educational.
I'll search tomorrow.

red I'm hoping for you to not need all of that, but sounds like a solid plan.

I'm definitely icing now. tummy and my side hurt so I think egg is being released.
we DTD 3 times in 4 days (keen) - I have about 2 weeks before AF is due.

lil1ady · 20/08/2013 07:36

Morning all.

Fifi I was under the impression lh surge detected by opk happens 24-36 hours before egg is released so keep DTD!

Zing good luck twotting. Hopefully ul only have to do it once with all that glitter and baby dust (and u have gravy too of course)

welcome back bear Bear glad u had a fab time in Italy still jealous sucks about Ur tests having to wait. pretty awful service, not like u get to choose which days Ur body does what!

getting as impatient waiting for icing here as I do twotting. mini hooya needed please but we are sticking at EOD, apart from Saturday which was technically the very early hours of Sunday but hey, almost!

Welcome broody Ul like it here. very cosy Grin
