POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

I know, really I shouldn't test until next week and this could be ERTD 10 days early! Have just had to give OH a biology lesson as he went very quiet when I told him this could be our month, when I asked him what's wrong he said he didn't understand how I could be pregnant as we haven't dtd for just over a week, seems he thought the egg was fertilised and there was an instant baby :-) ah bless

Ooh, exciting Curly! All the stuff Dr Goofle told me back when I was obsessively goofling implantation!! was that it needs about 4 days post implant to build up enough HcG for the pee stick to pick it up, so don't be disheartened if it's a BFN!

I've agreed with OH we will POAS catch & dip in the morning then if the spotting hasn't come back or ERTD hasn't started we won't test again until next week

I have trouble keeping up with threads when I only have access on my phone but have been lurking.

Have had an uncomfortable stomach for a couple of days now so I assume ovulation is imminent... I feel bloody miserable though and sex will be painful so how the hell I'm supposed to dtd I don't know :(

I'm out its ERTD on the plus side it does mean I had a 40 day cycle instead of 50! I'm back on the agnus castus from today and hopefully that will decrease it by another 10 days! Woop woop

ah sorry curly she's a bitch confusing us and getting our hopes up with spotting around same time as implantation. Although i was so disappointed to see af, in the same way as you it helped because I know how long my cycle way so can maybe track next one better, see if there's a pattern. Glad yours seem to be shortening too.

Nothing interesting happening here except I had all my hair chopped off. Wish I'd done it ages ago cos I love it. Plus it's only bloody Friday! Yay!

Thanks for the support, ladies. This thread has really helped keep me sane. I was anxious at first about going alone, but not mad, really. The health insurance we get with DH's new job means we are covered 100 percent for fertility treatments rather than 0 percent with my insurance. I want him to stay where he is and have good rapport with the boss!

Everyone in the office was really pleasant and courteous. Did not feel cold or medical at all. I spoke to the doctor for about a half hour or so about our general medical history and what TTC has been like for us. Peed in a cup (if peeing on things were a sport, I'd be in the Olympics by now). I had a ridiculous amount of blood drawn. We looked at my ovaries on the ultrasound machine (they're in there! Phew!).

I was expecting a big lecture about losing weight but she wasn't finger-pointing about it at all - just said, hey, can your weight affect your chances? Sure. But it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant. She told me to walk every day and keep doing yoga for stress relief, and I can do those things easily.

I have to go back right after my next Aunt Flo for more blood work, and shortly after that the xray where they shoot dye up your hoohah to make sure nothing is blocked. She's recommending we move pretty quickly and start with IUI, as long as my tests and his semen analysis doesn't indicate any larger problem, at which point she'd recommend IVF.

After a year and a half of no results, I'm really OK with moving quickly. I'm still hoping we might get a "natural" BFP in the meantime, but it's looking like I'll probably get knocked up by a woman with a turkey baster!

Oh, and PS, I fully intend to hang out on this thread even though it looks like we won't have a "just shagging" baby. We'll still be "just shagging" for fun, though, teehee....

Red that all sounds good and its great they are ok with moving quickly if its what you want. I'd want to do the same too and if we get to 12 months, which is looking ever more likely I think I'll crack on with investigating too. Really glad you have got things moving. I'd be keen to have that dye up the hoohah thing actually, as just knowing all the bits are there and there's no road blocks would make me feel a bit better. It'd be good to know that at the start really wouldn't it? I think thats partly the problem with TTC, not actually knowing if there is even the faintest chance it will work?!

IUI is basically artificial insemination. They'll pump me with hormones to stimulate ovulation at the right time, take his "sample" and clean it so only the best swimmers make the cut, and then shoot them up into the right spot. Even with all that, she says IUI has the same effectiveness as a healthy fertile couple getting pregnant naturally - 20 percent. But 20 percent is obviously higher than whatever my regular monthly chances are right now since I've not gotten pregnant. Generally they do three cycles of that, and then move to IVF (65% chance of pregnancy, but also much more expensive as the fertilization is done in the lab and then the eggs returned).

IUI also has a 20 percent chance of multiples - look out world, may be lots of reds coming!
