Thanks ladies! Yes Dh desperately wants another one and is convinced it's all just going to happen like last time and there are no problems. I've tried to explain that it's my body that goes through it every month and I'm worried I am not ovulating but he just can't understand that anything might even possibly not be ok - after all we have dd so why would it?! Arghhh!

He's not normally so insensitive - neither of us are sleeping very well at the moment.

I've just ordered more opks and pg tests - the cheap kind that won't bankrupt me for poas every day!

Hope everyone else is ok - lost, are you going to see the doc about your cycles?

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 13:52

marbles I partly do this testing so I don't really have a chance to get my hopes up and totally bashed when af arrives (if that makes sense). When I've waited to test I've been so much more gutted when af has arrived as I've pinned more hope on it...

one it's prob dh's funny way of coping with it himself... As in he really wants another but doesn't want it to appear that dc 1 isn't wanted or good enough. We ladies work in funny ways and men do too, I don't get my DH all the time!!

misshoohaa · 18/08/2013 14:16

Marbles - GrinGrin to the phantom pregnancy kicks. I do! The strongest kind of wishful thinking.

Piglet, the men just don't get it sometimes, my husband keeps telling me to just be patient which is so annoying!

Fed up I tested today too. I've been feeling super queasy the last 24 hours and had a headache so got all excited. POAS time and all I got was a BFN, I am only 9 days post ovulation but its still the most disappointing minute in the month. Only a tesco cheapie and an afternoon wee so will try and hold off again for a few days. You never know although I don't feel very positive. Off of holiday tomorrow so will enjoy that but probably will get AF just after we get there, boo to that!

Hope we get a couple more positives soon! X

KPidgeon · 18/08/2013 14:25

Turns out my "exciting" post ovulation stomach cramps are a urine infection. Great. Was it you fedup who had cystitis? I'm gutted. It doesn't mean I won't get a BFP I guess..Drinking loads of water and cranberry juice but it doesn't hurt when I go, just tummy aches and a need to go all the time. What a pain.

misshoohaa · 18/08/2013 14:38

That's pants Pigeon - hope u feel better soon x

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 15:02

Yeah it was me kp sucks doesn't it. Did you have stingy wee or just the cramps? I'm starting to think mine hasn't cleared up properly either as have cramps and the odd stingy wee towards the end. I too have restocked with cranberry juice :(

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 15:03

Sorry just re read and saw no cramps!!

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 15:04

Sorry again - really shouldn't walk and write, I mean no stinging!!!
Was it confirmed by doctor?

AbiBub · 18/08/2013 15:13

Gonna do this post in two stages as there is another page past here on my phone! One im hoping that af doesnt arrive tomorrow :0/ sometimes guys just dont get the emotional ins and outs of ttc, namely because they are not the ones who produce a warm and comfortable and caring environment for the sticky bean. Hoping that your OH learns that is a big deal for you and that he is more understanding in future. Of course we positively love our dc1 to pieces, tgats the reason why we want to do it all over again to have the same feelings all over again!!

Keep, hoping the hangover disappears soon and the visit from PIL is ok :0)

Fedup lets hope that the HFADclears off within its time limit, sounds like the fabs have been a godsend! ! :0)

Hows everyone doing, had a good weekend?

Now to page 2.......

AbiBub · 18/08/2013 15:34

Oh pigeon I hope you feel better soon. Keep up the fluids and cranberry juice for sure and hopefully is will bugger off soon! !
Miss, hope you have a fabby holiday, and fx af doesnt arrive! Hopefully the hols will help you relax and keep you occupied a bit!
Marbles before I got my bfp I had what felt like flutters so I think its our bodies way of saying we really want this too!! Hopefully all pans out for you, you may be ov but just not realise it, especially if your ewcm is staying up there wgen you dtd like mine did, I didnt appear to get the ewcm when we were trying last time, but it worked! Have you POAS recently?

Today is a sleepy sort of day for me but there is too much I need to get in with!! Nausea is on and off for me. But I guess thats part and parcel. I just dont cope very well with feeling and being sick! Nuff about silly old me!

Hows everyone else today?

helloelo · 18/08/2013 16:54

Hello everyone,

Brand new on MN, can I join your fab thread? You have no idea (or maybe you have, certainly actually Wink) how good it feels to see that I'm not alone getting slowly completely nuts about TTC!

It's cycle 2 for me, 8DPO, AF due on the 24th, trying not to POAS before the 20th.
Last time I went completely mental from 5DPO to 12DPO, testing twice a day, having all the symptoms possibly imaginable including nausea... Thank God, DP is very forgiving with my obsession.

Anyway, will slowly add more shameful details as the time pass (wine involved!), can't wait to read about how lucky you all will most definitely be soon!

xxx

KPidgeon · 18/08/2013 17:18

Thanks fedup only started on Friday evening.. I'd had the cramps for a while and then they got worse and I keep needing to wee so drinking gallons. It doesn't sting at all when I wee though so I think it's a UTI not cystitis. Will book docs appointment tomorrow but will have to say I'm TTC if they want to give me antibiotics so they are safe. Just in case!!
Sorry you're still not totally better. You can buy over the counter stuff for cystitis can't you.
I read online that you can get UTIs and cystitis from having lots of sex. Blush that would fit wouldn't it- with us TTC mad people...

abibub oh sickness- I don't envy you that.. hope you get some rest. The first 3 months of pregnancy are hard work aren't they.

Welcome hello- another AF buddy.. there are a few of us due the bank holiday weekend... could make or break it eh!

helloelo · 18/08/2013 17:34

Thanks a lot KPidgeon - I already fell a bit less alone :) only a few days now. When are you starting to POAS this cycle?

... and I'm confused but cystitis and UTI, aren't they the same? I've had loads, sometimes peeing hurts, sometimes not. And yes, sex can def be the reason, esp. as we're not supposed to run to the bathroom to pee afterwards (that's what they recommended to me, yeah, right, as if I was going to flush all the good work down!).

helloelo · 18/08/2013 18:09

Girls, I'm curious, what are the things you've given up whilst TTC? Are you sober? Have you quit smoking? Stopped coffee?

I must say that, quite shamefully, I had for the 1st cycle but now I've sort of realised I've got all these good bottles of wine sitting in my cellar, alone, in the dark, poor them... And I'm strongly considering opening one.

How about you?

KPidgeon · 18/08/2013 18:21

I think a UTI is internal and upper urinary tract infection.. I think, I've not had one before- had cystitis once years ago and this is different. I think that's exactly why though- as you say I haven't been peeing after sex. I've been shoving my legs in the air and hanging on as long as possible like that to let nature do it's trick... Blush

I've done two wasteful POAS already- stupid me. Going to try to wait until Thursday now... we'll see... !

We have cut down on wine (!) Maybe having 1 or 2 bottles a week now. But can't live without coffee and tea. I don't smoke.

KPidgeon · 18/08/2013 18:22

1 or 2 bottles between me and DH I should say- not by myself!

ricecakesrule · 18/08/2013 18:24

Hello ladies (and welcome helloelo), going to be a stressful week waiting for lots of you and then hopefully lots of bank holiday bfps! I just had to Google ewcm Blush I'm so clueless!!

Also to those of you who think you're going nuts.... I was just working out some dates and released that last time I fell pg would have been when on holiday in the new forest. In an unrelated incident... Have just been looking at booking to go back next month! Wink Pretty nutty behaviour!

I'm starting my opk thingy tomorrow and then a week of early nights! Hope everyone has a good week.

ricecakesrule · 18/08/2013 18:26

I am trying to cut down a bit on Wine and Brew whilst TTC, although once AF arrives each month good luck trying to keep that wine away from me!!

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 18:34

There is a difference between upper and lower uti and think cystisis falls in the latter category! Don't know though!!

fedupofrainydays · 18/08/2013 19:16

Me too. Cut down booze and coffee but not given up. Ttc is stressy enough without giving up things I love and also I don't know how long ttc will last ( plus both other times I conceived I was drinking way more booze and coffee than am now!) apparently the booze is more than man problem than the woman anyway so I hear!

Ha ha rice cakes if that's the plan then I need to go back to Austria as that's where ds was conceived!!

Welcome hello good to see another POAS addict has arrived so I'm not the only crazy one who starts at 5 dpo

AbiBub · 18/08/2013 20:51

Welcome helloelo! I hope this thread is just the outlet you need! :0)

I've just realised that im taking up posts on here and you're getting near the thread total, so sorry. So I will not post as much but lurk a little to see how you're all getting on if ok? When a new thread starts I will still watch if ok as I really would love to see how you're all doing? Lets hope theres some more bfp's on here next week and beyond! Grin

helloelo · 18/08/2013 20:57

Thanks KP I now know the specifics between upper and lower infection, I love the Internet :) be carefull then - I hope all is good after your dr appointment.

I am so relieved to see you're like me and have not cut totally down on booze. I have this thing where I'm really anxious to think it'll be my last drink for a while.. I guess it's ok to really want to be preggo but being scared it means I'll have to quit bad habits... Oh, and like all French people, I do smoke on top of that. Bad bad bad. Oh we'll, at least I don't drink coffee :))))

Have a great Sunday evening!

helloelo · 18/08/2013 20:58

And thanks a lot Abi and fedup great support here I see!

AllBoxedUp · 18/08/2013 21:27

Hello everyone. Yes, yes to the imagined symptoms. I think I have "super smell" every month which was a symptom of my previous pregnancies and also have an unhealthy interest in my cervical mucous.

Had a funny day today. I'm still trying out the OPK sticks and still not seeing anything (though on 11 days post AF). As I have a 23-25 day cycle I'm a bit worried by this. I'm convinced this will not be month for the first time since we started trying (so obviously secretly hoping I will use reverse psychology on my body!).

Anyway, got a wedding invite today for a wedding abroad in July which I'd love to go to but obviously the first thing my mind started doing was counting the months until then and wondering if I would pregnant or have a newborn or be around a potential due date. It just made me feel sad as I wanted to be excited about the wedding but it just reminded me of how it hadn't happened yet.

I then had a chat about things with a good friend who has 2DC and nearly got teary (though I don't think she noticed). I think she was trying to be nice but she started saying she had a dodgy ovary as she took 2 months to conceive both her DC and saying things like, don't worry - it will happen. At the moment 8 months is feeling like a long time already and I was looking for a bit of sympathy not information about how "long" it took her! Think I should stick to posting on here and not talking about it in RL but I'm not very good at filtering! Also got asked by another friend we've not seen for a while if we were planning a 2nd - think I said we were hoping it would happen soon. It was from a bloke so probably didn't even think about it being an insensitive question (and it's one I have asked in the past).

Hope you are all doing ok and this is your month! The thread seems to be moving fast. My resolution to not drink this month lasted about a day - I don't like coffee and have decaf tea though so maybe it all cancels out Grin?

Liquidambar · 18/08/2013 22:07

Hi Ladies
I have wanted to post since Wednesday! But it?s hard to do it on the mobile and I had a busy week and weekend. So here it goes a long post (apologies Blush )

Fedup I hope your DS is better. My DS had HFM and he was poorly for a couple of days. And Shock about the scan! What an emotional roller coaster. I hope you are feeling slightly more positive by thinking that at least it was flagged and you will have a follow up. You made me laugh about POAS. It is so good to know I am not alone when it comes to obsession poas

Marbles I nearly fainted when I read your post about ttc after 6.5 months Grin. I took me 3.5 years!!

KP I seriously loved your idea. Green/sparkles hairs! I hope someone in the field of science/biochemistry/pharmacy has a look at this thread and tries to give it a go. Can you imagine? You might just have revolutionised the whole pregnancy thing Wink Sorry to hear about the urinary infection. Hope you will get better soon

pizza I was very impressed with your ?nearly every day?. I hope you can keep the rhythm this month

Tallatime good luck with all your tests, but I hope you will get a BFP before you go the fertility clinic

Abibu I hope you are feeling less tired.

Allboxed I was also very confused about the OPK lines. This month I decided I will use a digital one. We haven?t told anyone in RL that we are ttc, but people keep asking about it. We have the ?excuse? that DS was a preem, hard work...

GandTnow I agree with everyone else. I would give it a go. You really can?t control how things will go.

Miss have you bought ?hide?the tests? My favourite gift was the babybjorn! Enjoy your holidays

getagoldtoof I have never checked my temperature. But a rise is a good thing! Good luck

Keepthecar welcome. I hope having your PIL around wasn?t too hard.

onelittlepiglet the gift registry is an odd concept to me( but I am a foreigner). It seems a bit ott!
I hope things are okay now between you and your DH. Even though men can be very supportive they seem to forget how sensitive hormonal we are!

Hello Welcome

I have reduced my caffeine intake. I was drinking 4 coffees a day and I have cut it down to one. I found very hard. I had headaches for two weeks. But I thought it would be better to do it now that I can take some ibuprofen/ anadin extra, etc rather than when pregnant. I don?t drink much alcohol, so that is easy to control.

Af arrived last week, so I am getting ready to start OPKs this week and a lot of dtd. We are going on holidays next week, so that would be good to relax.

Sorry if I have missed some people. I hope you are all doing well.
I?ll keep my fingers crossed for the next BFPs!

Good luck to everyone and I hope will have a good week.
