Poor little DS and poor you. Hope he gives you a little lie-in tomorrow.

I second the marmite rice cakes. My DS and I love them too!

Definitely get pizza if you feel like it, and red wine. You have to be kind to yourself.

I wish there was some obvious symptom that showed you were pregnant straightaway- your hair turns green or something! That would be sooo much easier!

fedupofrainydays · 14/08/2013 21:19

Thanks kp. It would have to be the pubic hair turns green or you wouldn't want the world to know before you (unless you are in to flashing your pubes!) i used to have them all waxed off but those days are long gone!!

Gone for red wine and cheese on toast (closest I could get to pizza) DH is out so am watching the trashiest programme on itv 2 called girlfriends - brilliant!

AbiBub · 14/08/2013 21:35

KP that made me chuckle about the hair turning green, but I tell ya that would be soooooo much easier wouldnt it!

Ooooh fedup you're so right about the pizza thing, actually everytime I saw pizzaqueens name I though ooh pizza. I have that tomorrow though as my heavily pg bestie and dp are over for a chill out evening and food before she has bubba so looking forward to that! Sorry to hear you have been thrown into confusion with the scan from monday though, when can they book you in for another? If its a student one there again I would request to have someone different do it!! Im keeping all fx here that all is ok. Big hugz.

Welcome newbies!! I hope this thread is completely valuable to you, and gives you a good sanctuary for having a good old rant if ya need it!

2be that sucks af had arrived when I read that it was really light I have to be honest I was still secretly hoping it was just ib. How is af going now?

How is everyone else doing ladies? Anyone with the evil witch visiting hopefully that will go soon and you can get to the fun part Wink anyone dtd hope you catch a sticky bean Grin and any one in the 2ww hoping this is your month so keeping my fx for all on this thread!

I cant remember who asked on this thread and cant go back on my phone but im going to be 32 in just under 2 months and my DP is 26, our DS is 4 and I am liking the thought of the bigger gap now as ds will be well into hisfirst year if primary school when dc#2 is born, well nearing the end of his first year so he'll have something to occupy him!! I used opks once but did it wrong and gave up slaps hand over eyes so this last time my dp and I just dtd every 3 days from when af went away till as late as poss in cycle after suggested ov date from the nhs website, one of the dtd happened to fall on the nhs ov date anyhow which may have been the stroke of luck I needed this time. I didn't POAS until a day after af was due. I just kept myself busy really. Thats my advice, but although I got my bfp im still very consciousof another chem pg so not out the woods yet.
So any nice plans for the weekend ladies?

AbiBub · 14/08/2013 21:41

Hee hee fedup that made me chuckle! Pubes indeed, perhaps not green though, maybe a sparkly colour that way we could just say it was a, what do they call it, a vajazzle thingy! !! Lol! Ive caught the girlfriends thibg onitv 2 before, although trashy, surprisingly draws you in!! :0) eenjoy your chill out time!! :0) x

ricecakesrule · 15/08/2013 10:04

Hello everyone, I've caved and bought an all singing all dancing opk so clearly I'll be pregnant this time next month... Wink Told dh I'd got it (along with conception friendly vitamins) and he was a bit Hmm think he's terrified I'm going to be calling him home from work or waking him at all times of the night to dtd at the optimum moment!! One upon a time he'd have been delighted with any excuse, guess it's not that erotic when purely for ttc purposes!

Love the idea of hair turning green, the symptoms bit is sooooo frustrating. Very cruel of mother nature that (in my case at least), pmt symptoms are so similar to pg.

Hope your ds is feeling better today fedup, and hope the rescan gets some better answers for you. I've booked a docs appointment too, whether I'll go remains to be seen!

2beornot · 15/08/2013 11:12

Ha ha. Love the green pubes. I can just imagine us squinting at them and then uploading pics to see if others admit that they are turning green!! Would that be any better than me holding hpt up to the light or squinting at tissue after I wiped to see if AF is here (tmi sorry)!!!

KPidgeon · 15/08/2013 11:27

Arggghhh I just POAS what a total eejit. I'm only on day 18. Numptee.

Tallalime · 15/08/2013 12:48

Hi ricecakes, sorry I haven't replied sooner Grin

Initially I had a very basic day 21 progesterone test at 1year ttc. That came back OK but since nothing happened and we are now 18months ttc they did more in-depth tests on me.

This was blood tests on cd1 or 2 (bit of a bugger to schedule that one!) and a second test on cd21.

They tested my progesterone levels, testosterone levels, my thyroid function and some other key hormone levels - it was 6 or 7 vials of blood.

DH also has to do a sperm function test in the next 1-2 months. Then they will refer us to fetility clinic, we cannot be referred without the tests.

AllBoxedUp · 15/08/2013 13:02

Idea of green pubes is very amusing indeed. I do symptom spotting all the time. Extreme tiredness is a good one - think I just feel like that all the time. I did my first official day of OPKs yesterday and it was just confusing. I did a practice on Monday (CD5) to see what it looked like and I had 2 lines - the control being a bit darker. When I did it yesterday I just got the control line. What does that mean? Going to keep trying this month but I think I will graduate to temping next cycle and then think about the Clear Blue thing.

Hope you had a relaxed evening fedup - you would think the dr could be more sensitive than that. Hope everything turns out ok.

muzzy1 · 15/08/2013 16:12

Oohhhh sparkly pubes the day after ovulation would be great! Haha 2be that made me giggle...we all would be uploading photos of pubes asking opinions!

You will always get 2 lines on the OPK's boxed, when you don't have the surge the second line is very faint or just lighter than the control line. When it's the same or darker than the control line it's a surge and you should be about to ov.

LostMarbles99 · 15/08/2013 16:57

Lots of excitement on this thread!

I had my first reflexology session so hopefully that will start to help things.

Wonder what the chances are getting pregnant with v v v long and irregular cycles? I envy people who have a 2 week wait, mine is more like 2 month Grin.

GandTnow · 15/08/2013 19:19

Hello, just had this thread recommended to me, thanks 2beornot. Planning on ttc#2 maybe this month. I posted a thread which I'll copy over to show you all just how bonkers I am already!

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread. My DD is 2.2 years old, we are thinking ttc#2 starting this month. Does it matter that I might have exactly the same due date to last time? Will I be comparing everything to last time because it will be the same time of year etc if I fall pregnant straight off? What if they share birthdays? I am over thinking all of this and should just get on with it? Or would it make sense to get DD settled into Nursery before another one came along? (This would mean waiting to ttc for at least 3/4 months?
Please come and shout at me for getting so hung up on all of this before we even start trying Blush

pizzaqueen · 15/08/2013 19:41

hi gand. I think you can't plan for too much because you don't know how long it might be, maybe straight away, maybe a few months, maybe longer. I was trying to plan to coincide with my ds starting preschool but we've missed that boat so just have to take things as they come now.

on the green pubes thing I'd be checking my knickers every two mins to see if they were green yet! would beat peeing on a stick just as often though!

fedupofrainydays · 15/08/2013 21:58

Hi gand I agree with pizza - you can plan anything when it comes to ttc! But if you are worried about it then leave it a month then you wouldn't have same due date! If I were you I would just go for it and if it happens first time round then great! And you can work out the other stuff.

Most of us here have been ttc #2 for a while now and hence why we are totally nuts! So I would crack on before you get like me!!

Almost spat my wine out at the thought of taking photos of pubes... Are they green / sparkly yet?!

Had a good eve last night thanks ladies. But day from hell today as ds so poorly. Hate it when he's ill. Reckon we are in for a disturbed night too. Thank god for Calpol!

fedupofrainydays · 15/08/2013 21:59

Can't plan rather!!

dildoos · 15/08/2013 22:10

Hey ladies will be heading to Lego land tomorrow on way home from 2 week hols and 2 ww!!
Will have wifi to log into so can read and catch up with you all!
Hope your all ok!
Missing you all!
X

misshoohaa · 15/08/2013 22:11

I just started reading the thread from the newest to oldest so was wondering why you were all talking about green vajazzles!

Hehe.

Good luck ricecakes with the OPK's I've used them this month and made me feel a bit more in control, no BFP yet but still like knowing when I ovulated.

G&T - I'd just crack on with it, I thought we would fall PG the first month and 5 months later are still trying. If you are lucky enough to get the same due date just think of all of the birthday party savings! Only one set of party bags, one pass the parcel etc!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I was looking frantically for a pregnancy test today as I had the urge to POAS but am all out! Gutted!

fedupofrainydays · 15/08/2013 22:43

dildoos we have missed you!!! Does that mean 2 ww is at the end for you? Enjoy Lego land.

Ah miss sounds so familiar... I regularly raid the house to find a stick... As I try hide them so I don't get carried away. My solution was to buy 30 cheapies off the Internet and don't care if and when I pee on them!!

AbiBub · 15/08/2013 23:50

Hey all!

Fedup I hope your LO feeld better soon. Have tgry given you a new date for the next scan? I hope its soon!

Welcome gand! I thought I would fall quicker second time round, turns out not really as its taken almost exactly the same time as it did with ds, so their birthdays are looking to be about a week or so apart from each other! ! Do what you feel comfortable with doing, as you've got to feel right about the timing!

2be never tmi lovely, thats what this thread is for! !! How is af going?

Dildoos welcome back! Hope you had a good time on hols, have a fabby day at legoland tomorrow! ! So how far into the 2ww are you?

Miss, see why you may have been confused about the vajazzle stuff!! Lol, personally id opt for sparkly over green, but then I am a bit of a magpy!!

Marbles hope tge reflexology works out for you, I've heard some positive things about it in the past and whenever my mum has used it on me it has worked wonders!!

Hoping that anyone in their 2ww doesn't have to wait too long to hopefully get a bfp, keeping all my fx for all in this thread! !

Whens people's af due, when are you likely to be POAS ?
x

misshoohaa · 16/08/2013 07:04

Hi Abi my AF is due early next week but confused.com as didn't get my fixed smiley on the OPK until day 17 so wondering if I always Ov that late, which means it should turn up......or was it unusually late which will mean AF later in the week? Anyone's guess.

Planning a shopping trip tomorrow so will get myself a super drug one and do some targeted weeing. Fed up I should do the cheapie ebays but DH was giving me stick about 'pregnancytestitis' so am trying to probe to him I have will power. Which I don't at all, maybe I should just hide them better! Wink

I feel exactly the same as last cycle, weird metallic mouth taste, sore boobs, bouts of nausea, getting hungry all the time but those symptoms meant nothing last month so perhaps they are just my pre-AF symptoms.....

Have a Good Friday all. Grin

KPidgeon · 16/08/2013 08:20

Hi Abi- AF due 25 Aug so can't sensibly POAS for ages yet! And last period i was 6 days late which was a killer so I'm probably in for another nutty nutty month. My DH has just started a new job commuting back to London too so the days with my 2 yr old have just got very long..... argghh!

Sorry your DS is still poorly fedup.

Do you guys stop caffeine in the 2WW? I love coffee and gave up as soon as I had a confirmed pregnancy previously but I can't bear to stop for 2 weeks every month for no reason. Just wondering if I should try to stop though- are any of you stopping for fertility reasons?

No green-ness anywhere here yet!

fedupofrainydays · 16/08/2013 08:37

We are due the same day kp

I don't give up coffee. Or alcohol. I couldn't survive every month with 2 weeks of punishment. The 2 ww is hard enough for me as it is never mind giving up two things I love!! And not sure there is loads of proof that giving up either actually scientifically helped people conceive or maybe I'm just telling myself that

Plus both times I've been pregnant were on alcohol and coffee fuelled times in my life...

ricecakesrule · 16/08/2013 08:45

Hi Abi, I have af at the mo (what does it stand for?! Blush ) so very long wait for me - or as someone said up thread, about to start the fun bit! Bought the clear blue digital opk, have high hopes... was on offer in boots but still far too expensive to do regularly so will just have to get pg this month!

Pidgeon - I try to only have 1 coffee a day anyway and think I'd struggle to give that up! Wine is hard enough!! I'm taking extra vitamins and trying to eat a bit sensibly but need my Brew to get through the day!

GandTnow · 16/08/2013 08:50

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think you're right and I'm overthinking everything. Nothing is for certain, off to buy some conception vitamins as had low iron levels last time, no one wants to have black poo more than once in their lives!!

Good luck everyone.

ricecakesrule · 16/08/2013 08:52

g&t - agree with others re timing, you can't really plan it so wouldn't fret too much. Due dates aren't exact anyway, something like 10% of babies are born on their due date? I used to go mad planning dates, don't want a Xmas baby, don't want an august baby due to school year, etc...... now I just want a baby!!!!!
