Welcome flower, you've come to the right place, these guys are fantabulous Smile

Wish- just looked for you. You need to aim for 60-80g protein a day. Go for 80g as we only have 2 days.

Danio yoghurt passion fruit flavour= 13g Each

Chicken breast = 24g each

  • lots of WHOLE milk.

And a quinoa salad made in bulk- loads of protein but comes out whole in your poo Hmm that may only be me but it is disturbing.

Plus lots of sleep and water.

    You will have eggs x

Thank you everyone.

Juicy - yes am using sperm from an unknown donor. Good luck with the rest of your week. I have to say I do not like the sound of the town you're in. More than happy to share all the gory details. There is only so much you can bore people with in RL.

nokkie - I do indeed swear quite a lot.

I know very little about anything and am basically just trusting the clinic on everything. I'm not sure that's been totally wise so far. I'm trying not to drink too much caffeine and booze but otherwise haven't done anything different to before. My diet is not that great and I am a little bit under the optimum weight (19.5 bmi). I think I need more protein judging by what tortie is saying.

I also have Pcos. Not that I knew that before I started the tests.

Hello lovely ladies sorry, how about 'alright you old slappers'?

Sorry again tame, thinking of you. You all pop into my heads at random times during the dayBlush

euro Blush thought you sounded like you were talking about having ec today! Hope it wasn't too painful going back in the scan room

karbea well done on EC, how are you feeling?

nokkie Grin about stripping for the scan - I can imagine why you did it, it all seems pretty normal stripping for the fanjo cam. Glad everything seems ok and you got to have another scan

juicyfruit as the others have said, yes, you do need to use the needle to draw the oil up. We started out using a smaller needle to draw it up and big one to inject(can't remember colours) and then after a couple of days we used larger needle to draw up and smaller one to inject, as the bigger one was more painful. DH was a bit of a whizz at breaking the vials, or so I thought at the time, but I just asked him if he had any advice for you and he said that it was often jagged after he'd broken it off!

mejust sorry you're still having a shit time of it with the jabsSad

wish sorry you're worrying about everything, it's bloody difficult not to, but one step at a time if you can. What day of stims are you on? I had slow growth last time at one point and then my follicles had a sudden growth spurt. I'll never know if any of these things made any difference, but I put a hot water bottle on my belly as much as possible and drank a shed load of milk and had plenty of other protein too.

motor sounds like things are coming on well with you, not long now, and as juice says it doesn't seem like long ago that you were trying to choose your donor

Hello to flowers and rachel welcome to the fucking madhouse!

Waves to buzzy and twinks

Only 4 days until I go for my consultation and will hopefully come away with a plan and some dates for starting in July, can't waitSmile. The waiting to get started again has been tough a fucking killer

Hi flowers. Welcome! There's a few of us on here using DE, and I for one am totally happy with that. I haven't had any attempts with my own eggs as it seemed fruitless - they quoted 15% chance success which I didn't want to gamble on. My donor has a female partner - my clinic suggested that some recipients might object to eggs from a lesbian which I was surprised at! How has your journey been so far? Stressful, I guess, with 3 failed IUIs. Here's hoping your next try is successful.

flowers I knew the very basics of the scans and follicle sizes cause of previous fertility crap but I was pretty much clueless when I started.
Just make sure you ask lots of questions when you go for your appointments. I piss them off with so many questions they push me out of the door Smile

Hey noks, not sure yet, I've always been on high dose stims 'cos of crap AMH, but maybe they will lower the dose slightly to try to get better quality eggs. I'm going to have a scratch done, but chose not to go on the DHEA as just wasn't sure about it. I have had some blood tests done for clotting factors etc and karotyping and they've all come back negative, so that's good. So happy for you stillSmile

wish weird that when I see Mr D at Poundbury on Tues afternoon he'll have seen you for EC that morning! Well it seems weird to me anyway!

wishwash · 14/06/2013 22:23

Yes wish, I think you are right that I need to start asking questions. I just do what I am told. We are at an NHS clinic although we are having to pay and I do think they are just putting us through their standard protocol sometimes.

motor, I think it is pretty shocking that they even tell you that information and allow you to reject a donor because of it. The only reason they know is presumably because they are also having treatment at the clinic. I expect quite a lot of male donors are gay but you don't get told either way. It's not heritable. Makes me a bit angry actually.

Flowers, welcome to the thread. Lesbians are actively encouraged but we don't tolerate gingers or Scousers. I'm sorry you got the impression Brno is less than fascinating. Let me clarify: it's fucking shit. Mind you, when I first clapped eyes on Sydney Opera House I said, 'Is that it?' Similarly, I thought Taronga Zoo (considered to be the largest and best in the world) was crap and the Leaning Tower of Pisa did not lean precariously enough for my liking. Venice stinks of piss-flaps and I would happily murder all French people. Other than that I enjoy being abroad Hmm

Buzzy, the needle: 0.70 x 40mm/22G x 1½"

There are so many of us now on this thread, it's ace Smile

flowers how come you're at an NHS clinic if you're paying for it?
I'm quite luckily going to a private clinic although im finded by NHS although I feel so common when I'm there! I get some snotty looks from the posh oldies having their Gout treated.

The lesbian thing baffled me too, it shows how narrow minded some people are

JuicySteak · 14/06/2013 22:34

Nokks, somehow I missed your explanatory post. Bet you were scared stiff when they called you in! Are you sure they weren't detecting Soul-Glow? Maybe it's running through your veins? Grin

Flower, I, too, think it's preposterous that clinics feel the need to reveal a donor's sexuality. On the other hand, I would definitely reject a donor if she was from Essex Grin

Report
MotorcycleMama · 14/06/2013 22:35

flowers I was pretty shocked too - that it was even included in the information (which was otherwise pretty minimal) but also that some people object, though on what grounds I don't know! Anyway, welcome and good luck!

Mejust, did you watch Braveheart at the end where they disembowel Mel Gibson whilst he is alive and then dangle his innards before his eyes as he shrieks in agony? Well...that's what EC is like.

joos Alan fucking Whicker you are not Grin

chocs I steered clear of dhea too. When I went for my post-ivf fail go to the back of the class consultation, my consultant actually said that he was considering putting me on the highest dose of Gonal-F for the next round. Considering my AMH is also a steaming pot of fox piss, I was surprised. That said, I didn't get loads of eggies (five) but a good fertilisation rate (four fertilised) so this must have been why. But but but, two made it back inside me at day three, but the other two were either growing too quickly or too slowly at day three and didn't get to blasto. They were discarded. I got a BFN. My point is.....were my eggs decent quality ? The evidence suggests perhaps not. Putting me on a higher dose may not have been the right thing.
