You don't have to be crazy to be on this thread but it helps

(Ladies, I thought I would jump in and start a non-sweary titled fred. Feel free to turn the air blue now!)

Hey ladies,

Tame I know I'm late but I'm sorry to hear your bad news, i really admire you for being so strong.

Hello Rachel, welcome :-)

Hi everyone else!!!

So.... had a set back with my scans today, after all the worry about me growing too many follies they haven't actually grown enough to arrange EC Sad It was meant to be tuesday but now they need to scan me monday before anything can be arranged.

They're also saying that something in my blood is low but I couldn't get a clear answer on what it was. Could it be my progesterone? Do they look for that at this stage?

I'm so confused and terrified that I'm going to fail before I've even started....

buzzybee123 · 14/06/2013 19:53

tortie I am so sorry my lovely big hugs

rachel and noks FF is nothing compared to Metmums, Baby and bump and babycentre for all things fluffy and covered in babydust Hmm

noks I did the same to my sonographer, I then remind them I have a tilted uteru and they will see feck all if they don't dildo cam me, my FIL is from forrin lands and Barry has sickle cell trait, which MIL is obsessed with, but last time when I got to my booking in with the MW, they weren't really interested Hmm I hear the doppler is the tool of the devil, glad things were ok

juicy you need to have the dot facing to the front I think then they snap quite easily, if not you can't break the fucker off, trust me I know. The edge is a bit rough but should be ok

buzzybee123 · 14/06/2013 19:55

x posts with motor

juicy didn't they scan you at the clinic when your husband was doing his bit

buzzybee123 · 14/06/2013 20:00

wish I am sure they will get something, not sure what they are looking for in your blood at this stage

JuicySteak · 14/06/2013 20:01

Buzzy, no they didn't and I'm wondering how they can be so confident that my womb lining is thick enough for transfer? Confused Yes, the red dot faces forward and we're snapping it correctly but still nasty jagged point remains. Tell me: we're not supposed to be drawing the liquid up through the actual needle, are we?? We are using just the plastic syringe minus the needle.

wishwash · 14/06/2013 20:04

Sorry I realised my post sounded completely wrong.

I still have a total of 17 follies all together but the biggest ones are only 13 and they wanted them to be 16 by today. I know I'm probably worrying too much but they said if they're not upto 16 by monday then they'll be concerned!

Oh god I've made myself panic again! I'm sorry.... i'll shut up now. Arrrrighghghg

SOMEONE FUCKING SLAP ME!

JuicySteak · 14/06/2013 20:08

Wish, believe me: they will be 16mm by Monday. Aunty Juicy doesn't lie. Now go and have a funk round your kitchen...

wishwash · 14/06/2013 20:13

Thanks Juice Smile Not sure if you've noticed, I'm a bit of a worrier

I may have to postpone the funk, I just dropped the milk carton on the floor...... it was open.....damn my clumsy ass the stupid drugs

JuicySteak · 14/06/2013 20:18

WishWashYourFanny, no point crying over spilt milk Can you advise me about these jagged ampules of mine?

wishwash · 14/06/2013 20:26

I can't I'm afraid! I haven't had any experience of you your ampules and their jaggedness but it sounds like something i'd completely fuck up anyway Hmm

MotorcycleMama · 14/06/2013 20:28

Hi juicy. Our clinic doesn't use the embryoscope which is a shame as it sounds like the best thing in the world of fertility treatment. Trouble is you can get so anxious comparing your own clinic to other people's, I have just decided to not to worry too much about it.
As for your scan, I did think that scanning to measure the womb lining prior to transfer was standard because it needs to be a certain thickness for an embryo to implant. It sounds like your clinic are great though, so you should just ask them. You know how it goes, they'll either reassure you that it isn't needed, or offer to do it for a few hundred extra quid!

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:28

Juicy- you need an ampoule snapper. I had a couple off my clinic. Ask reprogenesis for some. If not, you can get them in the UK.

All ampoules and vials have overage of up to 10%. Lots of room for error xxx

Nokkie- glad all is ok. You are not being insensitive.

Remember that saying about walking a mile in another mans shoes? Well you have all walked in mine so any happy news you have is all our happy news xx agreed?? Xx

buzzybee123 · 14/06/2013 20:29

juicy yes I use the needle to draw it up, what colour ones do you have, its a complete bitch with the green ones so I draw it up with the pink needle then change it to the green to jab myself

I would call the clinic and ask them to scan you to put your mind at rest

wish your follies grow about 1-2mm a day so you should be ok

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:30

Juicy- I am pretty sure you should be using a needle too...not just a syringe xxx

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:32

Wish- there will be eggs. You have 2 days. 2 pints of whole milk a day, 2 chicken breasts a day. They will grow. I have never heard of a cycle cancelled due to too many follies- they will just let them all catch up x dont worry too much x

MotorcycleMama · 14/06/2013 20:33

juice yes, you should be using the needle! The syringe won't have a tip long or fine enough to suck up the meds. You should really draw the meds up with one needle, then use another to inject, as you can blunt the needle when drawing up. Hope this helps!

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:34

I've stopped bleeding today. Which is just fucking typical.

Im in a hot bath with a glass of wine and DH has offered to 'prod' everything out for me later....

Oh joy Hmm

wishwash · 14/06/2013 20:35

Is it the same type of vial that comes with cetrocide? I have the two needles, a long one to draw draw it out then change to the smaller one for the jab, just as buzzy said. Other than that i'm clueless sorry Hmm

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:36

Wish- just a thought. It could be that your estradiol is too low. It needs to be a certain level to indicate enough mature follicles. Just means enough of them aren't big enough x

wishwash · 14/06/2013 20:38

It could be tame. I asked her three times what was low in my blood but she didn't give a clear answer. Whatever it is, she said it wasn't reflecting what they could see on the scans. The level was too low for the size of my follies. Really confused...

tametortie · 14/06/2013 20:48

Its estradiol chick. X

Lots of protein this weekend- all will be well on Monday xxx

FlowersBlown · 14/06/2013 20:54

Can I join? We have our first Ivf consultation on Monday. I have a female partner so my situation is a bit different in that we knew fr

FlowersBlown · 14/06/2013 20:57

Didn't finish that... From the outset that we would need fertility treatment. Anyway, we've had 3 failed attempts at iui and are now moving on. I'm not the only one here using a donor at least so that makes me feel a little better.

Have lurked a bit and will try to keep up with you all.

JuicySteak · 14/06/2013 21:00

My bloody stubborn husband!! He swore the nurse showed him to suck the liquid up MINUS the needle. Now this all makes sense. Thank you, thank you all of you for helping me. What a turd Blush

Buzzy, the plastic syringe is green but the needle is grey.

tametortie · 14/06/2013 21:04

Juicy- I did have a little chuckle when I reread it!!

Flowers- hello welcome!! Are you having ivf with donor sperm?? Good luck- make sure you check in with us all every step of the way because we are very nosey.

I hope you dont mind me asking but will you be having treatment or your partner? Do you have any known fertility issues or just the lack of sperm?
