Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband

Congratualtions Blondie Grin

Feeling the same as you Bear. We DTD plenty at the right time but I just don't feel like this is my month. Can't explain it, did loads of symptom spotting last month and convinced myself I was upduffed but I'm not hopeful this time around.

Thanks for the encouragement Frog. It was me who said that I think I'm out. I've been pregnant before and I just KNOW that these cramps are AF ones. I get the twingy ones in the week before ERTD is due then about two days before due they change to heavy feeling cramps. But if I'm pg they stay twingy.

If I didn't have the heavy cramps this month I would stick my neck on the line and say I was upduffed as I am very bloated and my jeans feel really tight. I had that when pg with DC3, my jeans were tight before AF was due.

But I know the heavy crampy feeling when I feel it, I'm not gonna be tricked by tight jeans truth of the matter is I've been in the biscuit tin too many times in recent weeks

You upduffed lot who keep POAS make me laugh. Do you not believe the first BFP?

Ahh melody I see you've borrowed the drama crown from bear.... Will be checking back very often every now and then, to see the poas action!!

No POAS action from me until after ERTD is late. You'll have to work really hard to persuade me otherwise. I'd rather have ERTD than see a BFN - I just feel like I've failed an exam if I get a BFN.

My longest record is waiting a week and a half after ERTD date, that was DC1. For DC2 I only managed 2 days but I felt that one implant and I just KNEW. For the last one, DC3, I waited six days. I had a miscarriage before DC1 but I can't remember how long I waited that time. Prob about the same time as DC1 as I had no idea back then about luteal phase. I just thought I was having a longer cycle.

In true drama queen style, I'm now convinced that ERTD will actually show up on Tue/Wed. The 'heavier' cramps are back. So there probably won't be any POAS going on in this house in the near future (not unless Mr Melody gets any funny ideas!)

Hi ladies,

Can I join?

Name: CoraBear
Any Dc's: 1 DS, 23 months
TTC since: December 2012.

We've been making a half arsed attempt to conceive since Dec but only decided to make an effort this week. We got married in Jan so I didn't really want to be pregnant on my wedding day. My cycle has extended to 31 days from 28 since Sept, does anyone know if this is normal? I'm 32, is it an age thing? Ovulating now but my husband's away with work. Typical!

Hi Cora. Welcome I hope you enjoy your time here but I hope you don't have to hang around here for too long.
I think the change to your cycle length is fine, that still sounds like it's within normal. I can't remember what 'normal' is but 31 days wouldn't ring any alarm bells for me.
Congratulations on your recent wedding.

Hi Something. I don't think we've met as I've only been on here since the beginning of the year. Congratulations on your imminent arrival.

So Baby and CrazyCat... My cycle buddies...How are you doing? Any more POAS? Any sign of ERTD?

I'm dying of waiting!!! I had a roller coaster of a day yesterday, convinced I wasn't then convinced I was, then convinced I wasn't again. I've resolved today to not take any notice of my 'symptoms'. I'm daft, I know I should just POAS. Let me know how you're getting on.

Melody how many dpo are you?

Report
MelodyHarmony · 11/02/2013 14:48

11 DPO. I have a 12 day luteal phase so due ERTD on Wedesday.

Report
frogchops · 11/02/2013 15:03

Ahh, the Poas depends on how you'd feel about bfn if it appeared? I know I was always happier getting an early bfn as I knew there was still a chance I was testing too early. Others dread bfn's and would prefer ertd to show up. To me that was the final ' no upduffed' sign so at least I'd had a bit of Poas to quash my Poas obsession!

Report
Bearface · 11/02/2013 15:18

I'm the same Frog - would rather a BFN any day. How are you getting on in the upduffed world?

Hi Cora - welcome!

Congrats on your imminent arrival Somethingwitty - I don't think we met on here before but I do recognise your name. Anyway, hope it all goes swimmingly!

I'm still a bit meh about POAS this month. I have lost all urge to do it, but did order some ICs yesterday as I think I need to know as I'm about to apply for the aforementioned job - it could save me a few wasted hours if I get a BFP!! Grin

Congrats something....I hope everything goes well!!! Fx for you!

Bear and Frog I rather have a ertd and be done with it....otherwise I just keep wishing the bfns to turn positive somehow....

It's funny how everyone has very different preferences isn't it. I just always thought, even if its bfn, it could be a slow show-er, lol..crazy? Very probably.
Bear will remember I loved a bit of drama, so I used to start the dramatics at errr 9 dpo, and keeping Poas til ertd turned up!
Strangely I fell off the Poas obsession wagon in my bfp month, I just thought 'meh, I'll do it later, and then, ohh ill use fmu tomorrow, and then I'd forget. I first Poas at 12dpo and it was bfn, although I kept holding it up to the brightest we have in the house light and willing a line to appear. Then the next day, almost out of boredom Blush as DP was out, at 13dpo I did another ic and the line, again was non existent but I was sure I could see something, it really was questionable whether I'd imagined it.
Cracking open the posh frer gave me a massive big bfp straight away.... One that I'm sure I'd have had days earlier if I'd have used it.
Up duffed world is going ok thanks bear....although am a complete wreck with worry and probably will be until 12 wks. Am 8+2 today. I've had no symptoms whatsoever, apart from sore boobs early on. :-/
Capes on girls, saddle up and p sticks at the ready!

I'm definitely in the prefer ERTD to a BFN camp. BFNs make me feel so depressed, like I've failed. Maybe it's just my past experiences that cloud it. The only times I've had BFNs are the months when ERTD had appeared the same or the next day. The times I've had BFPs have all been after ERTD was late. And I've had a pretty strong suspicion that I was upduffed so the risk of 'failure' (as I perceive it) was slim.

So Bear if you were to POAS this month, when would it be?

Just occurred to me - BFP was the month we started using conceive plus lube every time we DTD (even if not around ovulation) so I've been having a google - seems loads of people got upduffed super quickly after using it! I didn't even make the mental connection, but I wonder if it did make a difference or if this would have been our month anyway.

I got a tube of it from amazon that came with some IC's and was about £18, just thought I should share in case it helps anyone else :)

Rock...same here re CP. We used it all month and this, plus upping our game, led to BFP the first month of using it.
