Couldn't stand a Fred with only a couple of posts left so I filled it up!

Here is the 13th installation of the Just Shagging saga. If you're a bit lazy relaxed in your approach to getting upduffed, come over here for a natter!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Brew and Wine with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband Shock Wink

Happy shagging shaggers Grin

I went to the shops with dh, and told him I wanted a different kind of pregnancy test but he knows I still have a tesco one so wouldn't get me one Sad he very rightly pointed out if I am pregnant I will still be pregnant in feb after pay day, and it doesn't make a difference if I know now or later.

thethreeblondies · 19/01/2013 19:11

Hey ladies sorry I've been awol this week, had a really evil ertd, lasted a good week and was stop, start, stop, start! So I am cd8 and although my app doesn't predict ov for 10 more days im donning cape this week!

Well done frog and cookie I have my fingers crosssed for u xx

thethreeblondies · 19/01/2013 19:17

Ooh andie do I need to keep my fingers crossed for u too?!

Bearface · 19/01/2013 19:56

Ooo good luck Andie and Cookie.

cookielove · 19/01/2013 20:03

Thanks Bear and thethree i've never been this late before it is such a horrible waiting game Confused

I may go insane, although i did order the IC so hopefully they will arrive sooner rather than later and i can test with some of those instead. Dh doesn't know i bought those.

AndieDisestablishment · 19/01/2013 22:53

Thanks Bear and yes please threeblondies cross them for me. Smile
I'm resolved not to get excited, or test, until it's been a week.

Naughty Cookie with your secret tests.lol.

cookielove · 19/01/2013 23:00

Andie I have everything crossed for you, even my hair is tying itself in knots Grin

Yes, I am a bad cookie Wink

frogchops · 20/01/2013 00:30

(Starts to get arm ache from vigorous pompom shaking) come oonnnnn!

TobyLerone · 20/01/2013 02:59

Good luck, both of you!

Why are my boobs so massive/painful?

Hooya · 20/01/2013 03:10

Ooh excitement! Everything crossed for a couple more grads!

Toby I think it's progesterone which makes for sore boobs, which can be either pg related or normal cycle ERTD related - nature = a bit of a dick on this one, making the symptomps of both similar!

I have my next scan next week... the one where if it goes well and there's a heartbeat I will start to get excited...

MotherOfCleo · 20/01/2013 08:43

hum quick query, so we dtd cd4,7,9,11,12,13,14,15 i got a positive opk on cd13 i was hoping to continue daily till sunday but weve missed friday an saturday Sad do you think my chances are still ok?

Also I got OV cramps last month, but not this month, instead I got uber painfull tender nips on cd14, i think that means extra progesterone which can be a sign of OV too??Hmm

Really hope weve done enough.......wish id fought off my rediculous tiredness on Friday and jumped the OH! I didnt think i could on Friday but now im disapointed in myself! Sad will make sure we dtd today though!

AndieDisestablishment · 20/01/2013 09:14

Cleo All the blurb propoganda says as long as you're JSing every other day up to ov then you're in with as much of a chance of anyone (apparently 20% max!) the egg only lives for 24 hours at most so any DTD after that is just for practice. Wink In fact every day JSing can reduce the quality of sperm.

MrsBri · 20/01/2013 09:18

Mother, the month I got pregnant we DTD the 3 nights before my positive OPK, not on the day of it as we were out all day / night, then the day after, and then not again til 6 days after. It worked for us.

But I used OPKs to tell me when to stop DTD not start. I won't bother with them when we try for number 2 as I get really bad OV pain which is a dead giveaway. And we found out that DTD regularly right from the start of the cycle was the thing that worked. Fx that approach works for you too.

The egg only lives for a maximum of 24 hours after it pops out, BTW.

MrsBri · 20/01/2013 09:20

Oh, and sperm has to be in situ for at least 10 hours before it is capable of fertilising an egg. Look up capacitation.

Sex prior to OV is generally thought to be better than sex after.

TobyLerone · 20/01/2013 09:27

Thanks, Hooya. That's what I thought. I do get really sore boobs a few days before ERTD, but this is much earlier. I'm only in day 20 of a 28-day cycle and they've been hurting for a couple of days.
Good luck with your scan, btw!

AndieDisestablishment · 20/01/2013 13:03

How's things MrsBri ?

Toby My boobs killed me at the start of my pgs. Was a but disappointed I only gained a cup size though.

Hooya Good luck for the next scan.

Quick question: Why is the rest of MumsNet so hateful? I give up posting anywhere else now, I always end up feeling 14 again being ganged up on by the popular girls.lol

TobyLerone · 20/01/2013 13:33

My boobs are already huge! DH is thrilled because he's convinced it means he's knocked me up first try, and also because...you know...boobs!

I'm just hanging out on the snow threads at the moment. Too overexcited for much else.

AndieDisestablishment · 20/01/2013 13:49

Lmao. Gotta love testosterone. ;)

I've been attacked on the step parenting forum for saying DPs ex was out of order telling DSSs they couldn't bring their wellies...therefore we can't play in the snow (as she also sends them in shoes that are too big!!) I didn't realise the step parent forum was a chance for aggrieved mothers to attack other unsuspecting women in place of their own child's SM. Confused

MotherOfCleo · 20/01/2013 13:50

thanks everyone! Smile we dtd this moning so back on track. Im well and truly in the 2ww so fingers crossed we can just dtd for fun now not l on a schedule. Wink Also I do know too much sex can sometimes not be the best thing for getting the best sperm, but Id rather always have sperm their than rely on them living for 48 plus hours.....im not convinced they live that long. Confused

MotherOfCleo · 20/01/2013 13:53

andie tell them to do one! I hate how horrible people can be when they dont have to look you in the eye. Sad

Bearface · 20/01/2013 13:56

Hi Everyone,

How very exciting for the sore boobs people! That never happens to me, so if I ever did get a BFP it would be a dead giveaway. My boobs just seem to stay the same all the time. I bought some new bras on Friday though to give me extra vumph in the shagging department when ERTD effs off goes away. Nothing special - just black, but I do look good in black!

I also did some major exercise yesterday - ran 5k and walked for 30 mins, then did some squats and stuff. I REALLY hurt today! Grin Told DH that I never do them because they always make me hurt for about two days after. DH kindly pointed out that if I did them more often then I wouldn't hurt! Trying to lose a bit more weight in order to release some more estrogen, I think it is.

It's been snowing since really early this morning here and hasn't stopped at all. (I ran to the window like a kid well before the alarm went off!) My poor preggers friend had her due date yesterday and she's pretty much snowed in and lives on a big hill. Really hoping she is okay and manages to get to the hospital.

Andie - I'm with you on the weirdness of lots of the rest of MN chat. There are some lovely people and some of the chat is very funny, but I often end up worrying about what I post (not here though) as some bellends people jump on the most ridiculous points and/or end up twisting what you write, or making you feel like your opinion is wrong. I don't get it. IMO people need to chill out more and stop picking fights just for the hell of it. Stay here Andie - it's lovely here. I've only ever heard of one 'scuffle' on the Conception threads, so I think we're all lovely. Grin

Bearface · 20/01/2013 14:02

Jeez Andie - I'm with Cleo. It's so easy for them to hide behind their computer screen. If you hadn't said that you are their step mum and just said it had been a friend or neighbour sending the kids to someone's house without wellies they'd all be in agreement with you I bet. Ignore them. They're so fickle. I think some people enjoy ruining other people's days - it gives them a boost - not unlike schoolground bullies. There are ways of pointing out if you think what someone has done is not right or if you don't agree with them. It doesn't have to be brutal or rude, but I think the problem is mainly that people just don't think a lot of the time. Don't worry about them Andie.

TobyLerone · 20/01/2013 14:26

Ugh, Andie, it's hard. It's really difficult not to project if you're in the situation where you're the mum and the ex/his partner are constantly slagging you off. Not suggesting for a second that you do that, of course! But the way my XH and his poisonous cow of a gf behave towards me makes me avoid the step parents' board for fear of tarring everyone with the same brush.

Not an excuse for them to be horrid to you, obviously. Not at all :(

Good work on the exercise front, bearface!

MrsBri · 20/01/2013 14:26

Hi Andie :-) Things are good, ta.

On the boobs front, mine hurt from the Friday before OV right through til, oooh, about week 16. I discounted it as a symptom as they'd hurt before OV.

My boobs are currently attempting a bid to take over the planet and seem to increase in size daily. When I was last measured I had gone from a 36DD / 34D to a 38E. And they're bigger now. DH loves them. Boys!

MelodyHarmony · 20/01/2013 15:38

COOOO EEEE! Only me! How is everyone? Fed up with the snow?

I see some others have ventured into the wider realms of MN. I tried it a few times then got bored. And thought it best I stay here where it's safe, funny and friendly.

Laughing at all your big boobs! Mine only grow a bit in pg then fill out nicely when feeding. My DH is hilarious he gets all excited about the prospect of my bigger boobs my normal boobs look like pyramid tea bags but then he gets scared of milk leaking all over him so won't actually come anywhere near them!!!

So...anyone had the urge to POAS?

Andie loving your willpower.

Cookie how's it going with you? Still no sign of AF?
