Hey gals, found the old posts and here is how our group got its name.....

When my mum had me, they marked her records as "elderly primigravida". She was 25!

Oh, just googled the spelling of primigravida and you know what a medical dictionary (McGraw-Hill Concise Dictionary of Modern Medicine. © 2002) says?
elderly primigravida
Obstetrics A woman who delivers her first child after age 35; these women are often professionals who delay childbearing to pursue a career

For some reason Primigravida sounds like some sort of trifle to me.
Elderberry Primigravida, anyone?

........ Which became elderberry pavlova :-)

Oh dear, I shouldn't have asked. Now we're all Angry at being old premadonnas. Good way to make new friends thunder.

Sorry hyper I have no idea about that stuff. I never went to the docs beforehand.

Bunnygirlie · 20/01/2013 19:50

Welcome thunder love the name!

So how are we all this evening?

OP posts:
happylass · 20/01/2013 20:10

Thanks for clearing that up Bunny!

Nothing to report here. AF due here on Friday but no symptoms of that or anything else Sad. We are long overdue for a BFP on this thread. I can't even remember when the last one was!! FX for lots soon!

Pipbin · 20/01/2013 21:28

Evening.
I made a berry pavlova a while ago to commemorate us lot, if you click on my name then you'll find the picture.

Someone asked earlier how my tummy felt after the lap and dye.
Well, I have two 'wounds' one is just below my bikini line and looks like a spot really. The other it just on the edge of my tummy button. That one is a little sore, itchy really more than anything.

So, I am going to carry on shagging and wait for the appointment for the referral for IVF. I'm not sure whether to carry on with the cbfm or not. I do have one working tube still, well kind of.

Welcome Hyper and Thundercats

navis176 · 20/01/2013 21:31

oh dear - now I feel ancient Grin

navis176 · 20/01/2013 21:33

Bunnygirlie · 20/01/2013 22:29

Glad you aren't feeling too rough pip

Just waiting for AF due end of month, birthday next weekend so looking forward to a few cocktails!!! Then hoping for a better feb with lots of shagging!

Welcome Hyper. I'm not sure about rubella because I had the jab at school, but I totally understand what you mean about being sent away and then feeling uncertain. Happens to me all the time, even though I'm confident and even quite a, erm, confident bossy boots person in real life. There's just something about those doctors surgeries that get me. I think you should feel very confident going back for more information - do a bit of googling and asking around first, and just be prepared to be firm, respectful, but pushy if need be. Wish you luck.

Welcome Thunder, so sorry to hear about your mmc. I can't even imagine how awful that must have been. My sis in law had a MMC last summer, and was pg again by the autumn, and is now 21 weeks and all is well, thank God. And I've heard other stories very similar to that, so fx you'll be having a perfect, healthy pregnany soon.

Pleased to see we have a few birthdays coming up - mine's on Weds, Bunny at the weekend and some more in the weeks ahead I believe. Here's hoping we all get the bday presents we've been waiting for! I've always been very happy about my bday, though this year it feels a little sad as I was sure that I'd be turning 33 with a baby, or at least one on the way. But DH is taking me out for a nice meal and hopefully I'll be fully recovered from the cystitis by then so we can have some night time fun too!

Captain - good advice for mother on piling the dishes on his lap. I've realised that asking several times doesn't seem to work. My trick has been not cooking until the dishes are washed - his tummy calling out to him is apparently much louder than me!

viviennewestwould · 21/01/2013 08:14

My CBFM has crashed thanks to me borrowing the batteries for the DVD remote. Bastard.

Bunnygirlie · 21/01/2013 08:18

rumple I'm 33 too this month and I know what you mean, I hoped to be 33 and pregnant Sad FX we will be PG before the 34th birthday!!!

Something I have to 'look forward to' is booking and having a smear test, oh the delights of being a girlie! On the positive thinking side, getting used to being poked around with before hopefully getting pg and more poking around lol

OP posts:
janey1234 · 21/01/2013 08:50

uh ho she's back

Happy upcoming birthdays to bunny and rumple!

bunny - a good thing about getting your smear done is that once you're pg you're not allowed to have one, so good to be up to date in readiness I reckon. Everyone else get booking your appointments!

twinklestar2 · 21/01/2013 09:26

Welcome thunder and fx for a healthy and happy pregnancy sooner rather than later!

I agree with the comments about not looking forward to birthdays. That's how I felt about mine too. Sucks doesn't it?

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 09:54

Good morning all.

Pip I had no idea about the lap and dye thing before... Your pavlova looks amazing though. Re the CBFM - is it a right hassle to do it? Otherwise surely if there is still a chance it could work out of your working tube, it must be worth giving it a shot?

Rumple thanks for the welcome, and the positive thoughts. Yep I plan to be successfully upduffed pretty soon - spot the desperate pma attempt. Sorry the cystitis still looms though. Is it cranberry juice that helps with that, or have I got muddled up?

I'm 34 next month, and agree that birthdays have lost their shine recently, especially the thought of not being pregnant for it. Although if af gets her act together and arrives soon (day 30 now, used to be 32 days absolute tops), I could potentially get a bfp for mine.. no pressure then!

viv I don't even know what a cbfm looks like, but I hope the film was worth it?

MotherOfCleo · 21/01/2013 10:04

Hi janey always nice to hear from you! How are things?

Happy Monday everyone bloody hate Mondays

Hum, after your thoughts, so I'm now about 6 days past positive OPK and have some light cramping. I'm slightly worried as I never got any OV cramps this month like I did last month, I'm concerned I'm OVing late...although this would be very late! I did get epically sore and tender boobs the days after my positive OPK which I think can be a sign of OV so perhaps I just missed out on the OV cramps this month? (lucky me) The current cramps are very light and don't feel particularly like OV cramps but I'm just being a worry wart and thought I would ask. My boobs are still crazily sore even now.

captainmoll · 21/01/2013 12:48

Mother - sore boobs? Unusual cramps? thumping table BFP! BFP! BFP! Etc

MotherOfCleo · 21/01/2013 12:55

haha captain I bloody well hope so! Not getting ahead of myself though, just been to the loo and I can also add a tiny bit of pinky brown spotting into the mix. God I hope these are good signs.
I'm only around 5dpo (6 days past positive OPK) so it could be a bit soon.
I'll sit tight and see what the rest of the 2ww has to offer.....

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 13:21

Look like good signs to me, mother!

SidneyBristow · 21/01/2013 14:10

Welcome hyper and thunder!
Mother those all sound like really encouraging signs!! so exciting! Fx for you!

Viv I just caught up with the thread, and my heart sank for you, but then your weekend turned itself around - I can only imagine what kind of emotional whiplash you felt. How're things today? Is Mr Viv still on his "I did it" high? I hope so, for both your sakes. It must be so tormenting, him desperate to perform while at the same time feeling like he isn't good enough etc, terrible vicious cycle for you both and I'm glad things went successfully so quickly after the first attempt this weekend.

Pip have they told you how long the soreness will last?

I've just gotten back from a 1.5hr walk; it's gorgeous out and I feel much more clear-headed. Which can only be a good thing, as my DH and I are now in the run-up to starting the SMEP. Have somehow managed to convince myself that following a plan is somehow better, when the plan is essentially the same as what my DH and I'd do whether TTC or not?

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 15:35

Hi sydney, I totally know what you mean about feeling better when there's a plan. I'm the same.

Does anyone here know about cheapy opks? I did one today and half the test line is dark purple, the other lighter. Have put a photo up if anyone has the inclination to put forward an opinion. Any thoughts very welcome (I read on peonastick.com that this can be a positive with some and not others. No idea what it means to my ones).

Demanding post over. Thanks

MotherOfCleo · 21/01/2013 15:44

Hi Thunder, I think your profile is set to private as I can't click on your name to check out your pic. Sorry Sad

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 15:47

Ohhh ok I'll try to sort that...

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 15:52

Does that work?

MotherOfCleo · 21/01/2013 16:31

Hi thunder yep that works, I can't see much in the photo but I wonder if it is just the way it's absorbed? Could you try another one? Does half the line look as dark or darker than the control line? If so I would take it as a positive! If there is enough hormone for it to register darkly on half of the second line then that is a good sign.....but maybe do another one just to put your mind at rest. Smile Sorry that wasn't really much help was it!

Thundercatsarego · 21/01/2013 16:35

Yeah sorry not a great photo. The darker side of the line is definitely darker than control- the other side possibly lighter. I'll try and do a clearer one. I'm on CD31 so no idea what this means. (Know what it doesn't mean as already had a bfn). Thanks mother
