I hope nobody else has started a May conception thread; April isn't going to be it for me, so onwards and forwards ladies!

Iv been meaning to say for ages wannabe I used to go out with a lad from namibia in fact when we moved back to england he came over but we split up he started seeing someone else.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 14:39

lol at doing 5 tests debsie, I wonder if clear blue/fr/whoever else makes pg tests put some sort of subliminal messages on their labels that actually say "you must doubt the first result, you must test several times to be sure". lol

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 14:52

lol

elliepippamummy · 28/04/2006 14:55

Hi

Does anyone know when you get the ache/pain that you are ovualting should you be BD that day, we are trying for 2nd baby (DD aged 19 months and m/c in Feb) been BD all week, go the ache for ovulation today but DH not home today!!!

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 15:11

Wannabe: that's really positive. Your GP said what we were all thinking. Smile

Can't wait for your BFP!

I was awake until 2am. Got so many symptoms now I can't even be bothered to list them, except for the new one: nipples are going darker.

Pretty sure I've conceived, but no idea if it's going to last this time. Keep your fingers crossed.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 15:12

hc what day are you on? have you considered doing a test?

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 15:14

elliepippamummy sperm can survive inside the body for up to 5 days, so if you've had intercourse recently then missing out today may not be a problem - you could still conceive if you ovulate.

maazaa · 28/04/2006 15:28

Just wishing you all a lovely bank holiday weekend! Hope it's a fabulous time of bfp's, more symptoms and bd!

Anyone doing anything nice? Not much happening for me, but no work is wonderful!

Fingers crossed Hopecat and Wannabe that the symptoms progress into the right results!

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 15:29

Well we're going to Bristol zoo tomorrow, nothing else planned apart from that

elliepippamummy · 28/04/2006 15:31

Thanks for that wannabe fingers crossed and count down to AF due date !!

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 15:42

fingers crossed hopingcat

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 15:45

how ever am I going to hold out testing for two bloody weeks! this must be what it's like waiting to be sentenced by a judge! lol!

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 15:53

what tests have you done?

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 15:58

clearblue, not digital just the standard ones. one i did was early sunday morning but the other was late at night so it's possible that the sample wasn't concentrated enough, but I do think I should hold out for as long as possible but it's going to kill me! lol

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:03

Wannabe this is quite exciting!
I'm home for a bit, but off out again soon to the theatre- oh the joys of culture in london town!!

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 16:07

i have a feeling you should try clearblue digital and do it now.

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:12

I think I have to agree with debbsy ( well maybe wait a couple more days) and do it when you Dh is around to read it ASAP,
could it be that either your wee isn't strong enough in the evenings or the test has sat aorund which can also make it show different results and... didn't it take a while for Ds to show, wasn't he a bit of a planned surprise?- didn't you faint at work -- sorry too many questions
Hi debbsy how are you?

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:16

oooh culture vulture peachy :)

Well I'm kinda leaning towards getting a digital as well although i have a feeling my dh will just protest and say that we should wait the two weeks. so some convincing is called for me thinks.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:19

but yeh ds was a bit of a surprise - I thought I'd come on but only bled for a day and thought nothing of it till I fainted at work, thought we should test and dh said no but I convinced him and he got me a test on his way home from work as he passed by the chemist and i didn't (to shut me up I think) and turned out it was positive. Sat in shock for weeks and had constant dreams that I saw the midwife and she told me not to be so bloody stupid.

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:21

I suppose you have to think about your peace of mind, It is going to be there all the time in the back of your mind, how about a compromise? waiting a week or five days.
I know I said this but I do think you should test when he is with you in the morning instead of either waiting til later or saving the urine then you can have the best quality strong wee (lol) and get him to read it too

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:23

lol, imagine if we ever meet up, the things we atalk about on hhere that most prob wouldn't talk about to our rl friends ...

but yeh, I reckon I could do a week, if I did a test in the morning I could do it next weekend, that way I don't have to get up with dh at 5:30.

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 16:24

very well peachy thanks working from home today so next to my computer here and working on my laptop. How are you?
Wannabe when i got my bfp it was a total shock as we had been having a break from ttc from sept as it was really getting to me,had 3 clearblue digital in the drawer that i hadnt even looked at since sept,I dont know now what made me test as i had normal af signs the only thing different was i had had constipation reeally bad (stmi)i was due af on mothers day.Something made me test,it wasnt first morning sample i had been up an hour that morning and practically just ad a drink, but swomething was telling me to test.I did and can remember walkintg out the bathroom saying to myself go on not pregnant as usual. But soon as i clicked it in place under 30 seconds went to pg,must have sat there an hour just looking at result in total shock,i say must have been an hour as result went off and they only stay on for an hour.I have a feeling about you too,and i hope this doesnt sound wierd (im not honest) but i think the same will be for you.x

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 16:25

Hi Wannabe: I'm only on CD24, so I'm definitely not testing yet. I’m going to try to hold out until at least next Friday (CD31). That way if AF comes like she did last month, at least I won’t have seen a BFP and got excited.

Thanks for your wishes Debbsy.

Because I’ve never had any children there’s a big part of me that can’t believe that I could be PG. I’m pretty sure I am at the moment, but I’ve got a busy weekend ahead so I’ll have lots of distractions.

Got two parties (and have decided not to drink –boo), a dinner party and seeing both sets of parents. Blimey. Shock

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:32

HC try not to read anything into simptoms, I know that is a lot easier said than done, but cd24 is very early to have such strong simptoms, I really hope that you are pg and will keep everything crossed for you, but try and keep an open mind, even if af comes, it doesn't necessarily mean you have had a miscarriage, a lot of the pg simptoms are also af simptoms, but we often don't notice them when we're not ttc.
