I hope nobody else has started a May conception thread; April isn't going to be it for me, so onwards and forwards ladies!

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:33

oh peachy i meant to say I'm starting with my dog on the 15th of May but the guy's dropping him here on the friday before so he can settle in.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:34

Debsie I really hope you're right, part of me wants to think of myself as being pregnant, but there's a part of me that says be careful it might not be. I'm scared to get excited in case it all goes wrong and it's something else. I almost wish I would start throwing up in the mornings - that would make it a bit more clear-cut?

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 16:38

Wannabe, thanks for your concern, but this is totally different to any AF symptoms I've ever had.

The women on both sides of my family have a history of very quick conception and very early strong symptoms, and the ones I'm experiencing now are very similar to the ones my Mum had at this stage in both her pregnancies, and my Grandmother.

I've always been very 'symptom aware', and the only AF symptoms I've ever had are raging PMT and bloating.

I know you the advice is meant kindly, but as I've said before on this thread, I'd rather look on the positive side, then deal with the disappointment. I don't see the point in suppressing feelings: leads to depression and taking it out on my HB. Sad

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 16:39

i know i feel for you i really do ive been there myself a number of times but still no af is still no af.The very best of luck to you and im sorry for crashing your thread.Blush Grin

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:39

fair enough hc :), really hope you're right then x

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:41

I'm fine thanks debbsy, a lovely day only 8 kids in class (normally 11) so we nipped out in the minibus to fanny's farm - yes its really called that and to the park - lovely
Wannabe that's great about the dog, I'm so pleased for you does it have a name?
Hopecat I also agree with wannabe, it is very easy to think yu have managed it especially if you have Blush really good sex (sorry but you all know what I mean)as you can really make yourself think that was the one.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:41

no no you're not crashing Debs after all it's a support thread for people who are ttc and generally we've all been there, and you know only too well what it's like to go through it :)

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 16:42

Me too! Smile If not, I've got MN to cheer me up. Grin

I can really sympathise with your extra 1ww. You obviously have excellent self-control.

wannaBe1974 · 28/04/2006 16:43

right I have to shoot for now, will hopefully be on at the weekend, take care all and thanks for listening to my random ranblings, lol.

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:46

sorry a bit of crossing of threads, I just don't wnat you to be disappointed hopecat

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 16:46

Alright Peachy, don't mean to sound touchy, but I came onto Mumsnet in the first place so that I could say all these things that I can't say in RL. I know that one of the reasons you are both giving me this advice is because it's something that you try and follow yourself, but I feel that if I don't say this stuff I'll burst, and where better than cyberspace to express all this taboo stuff? We're not supposed to express too much hope in case we're wrong. I don't care about wrong or right, I just care about being pregnant. I am a very strong, rational and capable woman with my own business. I am not prone to depression or self-delusion.

I am, however, a naturally positive person, and I often feel this is frowned on in this country. I know you're all trying to be kind, but actually all I need right now is for people to say 'good luck'.

Rant over.

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 16:47

good luck

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 16:48

Thanks Debbsy Grin

Debbsy · 28/04/2006 16:52

Peachy lol,at fanny farm

peachygirl · 28/04/2006 16:53

I do understand what you saying hopecat, but you only have to look down the threads to see post after post of peole saying 'am I or aren't I' and more often than not AF arrives after they have stressed themselves silly about it all. I do wish you lots of luck and I hope this do work for you this month, your symptoms do sound very positive, maybe I'm just used to people being a bit more cautious including myself
What I really need everyone to say is peachy just get on with it and stop faffing about!!! and get your DHs arse in gear too

Hopecat · 28/04/2006 17:42

Hi Peachy & Wannabe. Ashamed at my rant now. Blush

Know everyone on here is going through their own thing.

Not being the most rational of ladies today. Sorry girls.

maazaa · 29/04/2006 09:50

If it's any consolation HC, I think I'll be more like you as time passes......we had two go's at bd - unprotected and I really thought it could have happened and tested 5 days later, knowing the result would be BFN, but just wanting to see. DH is just as bad - made me do another one before embarking on a boozy night - think he was just being hopeful too! All this and we've only just started ttc! Think the novelty is wearing off now - that and the cost of home pregnancy kits! Am trying to be more sensible about it. However, as nobody knows what we're up to, it is fabulous to read MN, ask q's, gossip etc and I really appreciate the outlet.....and I know I have a long journey ahead! If you can't rant here, or be a bit irrational, where can you?!

laughalot · 29/04/2006 10:21

Hi ladies well yesterday seemed like quiet a dayfor hormones Grin well im cd25 and feel well pretty normal keep crying though at things on telly by=ut I am a soppy person so not reading much into it. Lol mazza already done 2tests and just started ttc, you will be skint keep paying for tests Grin

Hopecat · 29/04/2006 16:27

Maazaa, thanks for your words - much appreciated. When I started trying I kept doing tests on CD22. Costs a fortune, but at the time you don't care, do you?

Not doing it any more though. They've become a regular household expense.

I know you can get cheaper ones on ebay, but I worry about whether they're approved ones or not. I like the digital ones best.

Had a really hard day at work today: lots of heavy lifting and jumping around (don't ask). In fact, I ended up on stage with a load of 10 year olds dressed as pirates singing the Yo Heave Ho song. What a way to make a living.

coggy · 29/04/2006 20:44

Sounds like an interesting day Hopecat!
the things we do......

I don't know if you saw my previous message (on one thread or another!!) but it might be useful..(and for you to maazaa)...
My local Boots are giving away a FREE clearblue (normal) pregnacy test with any other clearblue thing bought. Could be useful if it is a national promotion - worth checking out. :)

maazaa · 30/04/2006 10:56

Thanks for the tip - will check out and then lock away so I can't be tempted!!!!! We bought a pack of two Boots own ones originally - cost about £6, so not sure how accurate they would have been anyway!!!! Though, they claim to be as accurate as a doctor's test. Anyhow, clearblue sounds good, Coggy!

laughalot · 30/04/2006 13:03

Hi anyone around ?

wannaBe1974 · 30/04/2006 14:02

hiya all :)

well, cd42, no af, still major pg simptoms including feeling very nausious, and I am absolutely sure I have a small bump. Have resisted testing again but am likely to buy a test today and will test with first morning wee tomorrow me thinks. have said I'll buy a twin pack and if this one is bfn i'll hold out till the two weeks gp suggested. am now sure I'm pg but part of me is being cautious still.

Hope everyone else is ok :)

Amanda01 · 30/04/2006 14:07

Hiya girls :o I've not had time to read everything, lol, but i hope we've had some BFPs this month!!!!!

My AF is due in about a week, but i don't think i ovulated this month, so i'm not excited at all really!!!

I have a stash of ebay cheapie tests ... i figure i'll use those, and if i (please god) got a few BFPs with them, THEN i'd go out & buy a more expensive test to confirm :)

We all know the answer is to wait til AF is a week late, THEN we'd test ... but welcome to the real world, we all wanna know!!! Right?!

Baby dust to all :o

xXx
