mollie I'm the same. I'm only 4+2. I know that cramps and twinges are quite common so fingers crossed there nothing to worry about for either of us. I'm also bloated but again probably Xmas! don't seem to have sore boobs, which kinda worrys me. they maybe feel a bit sensitive but I could be imagining that. other than that the only other symptoms are weeing more, but maybe I'm just drinking more! and spots. I always get spots on my lower cheek and chin when pregnant. I'm resisting the temptation to keep testing at the moment!

mollieboo · 10/01/2013 21:07

Hi cartoon, easy to say but try not to worry as not everyone gets sore boobs, mine are only slightly sensitive. Spots are good, hormonal changes! I would love some morning sickness, you're probably the same! But its really early days for symptoms and we're on the pred so im not expecting too much, apparently most women on steroids feel really well during pregnancy. Well done re not testing, im a bit addicted to the clearblue digis!

roseandroli · 11/01/2013 08:01

Hi mollie and cartoon! Louise did say the pred would mask the symptoms so I'm trying not to panic (easier said than done). My boobs are a little sore, but then again that could just be from all the poking I'm subjecting them to. I'm also a bit more tired than usual, but that can easily be down to sheer laziness and wishful thinking! Oh for some good old fashioned nausea...
I'm 6+4 at the moment. Scan booked for tomorrow afternoon. This is always the point at which we've gotten the bad news, so I am going to be a complete wreck...

cartoontrickster · 11/01/2013 10:17

oh yes mollie I'd love a bit of ms!
rose good luck for tomorrow.
I have a scan booked for the 30th when I should be 7 wks. usually its all gone wrong by then though so we shall see. these first few weeks are so hard aren't they

ChoccyPud · 11/01/2013 11:18

To all the symptom spotters... Be aware that firstly ime each pregnancy is different in terms of what symptoms you get and when. Also they can come and go with the Pred. And cyclogest makes your boobs swollen and makes constipation worse.

Basically I'm saying try not to worry about presence/absence of symptoms. Easy to say I know!!

All the best for scans. It's completely natural to be bricking it. Fingers crossed for you all.

Havingkittens · 11/01/2013 12:04

Congratulations to Mollie, Cartoon and Rose!

I will second what Choccy has said. Every pregnancy is different and the pred really does mask a lot of symptoms. Just for a laugh, it also mimics a lot of them too whilst waiting for BFP so you can't really win either way!

I have been pregnant 7 times. The only time I had sore tits was the first one, where I couldn't drive over speed bumps without holding them or yelping! I didn't find Cyclogest made them sore either. Possibly a bit more swollen, seeing as mine seem to have deflated since I came off it (shame!). I didn't have any ms, nor was I anywhere near as tired as I have been in previous pregnancies. I think any symptoms I had in the first trimester were all pred related - ie. cracking headaches and the shakes.

Best of luck to all of you with your early scans.

Choccy & Sue, good to hear that at least your bodies are back on track. I really hope this year brings you both a sticky BFP. x

Yes, Free and Iggi, I agree, the thought of TTC at 4 months is a pretty daunting one to say the very least. If nothing else, there's absolutely no way I could afford it as I wouldn't get to go back to work for that much longer and would have to find the money for the SO treatment too. I think OH would be keen but he's not the one that's got to do the physical side of things or give up an income. Also, I really think one will be plenty for me to cope with.

mollieboo · 11/01/2013 14:22

rose good luck for tomorrow, totally understand how you're feeling, but you're in the best hands so stay strong.

Yes cartoon the first few weeks are so hard, although I had problems later on in my pregancy with my son so I will probably be more of a wreck later down the line if I get there. But I wasn't on the treatment then and now I am, as are you so we have to stay strong and positive Smile.

I've got another scan at my epu next week at 5w6d and at New Life at 6w3d all being well, don't like to look too far ahead though!

Thank you choccy and kittens for the congrats and any advice is gratefully received. kittens this is my 8th pregnancy in under 3 years, it has to go right at some point doesn't it! Hope you're feeling ok and blooming.

I know I'm replying late to other posts but free I can't believe you're little one is now 6 months old, its gone so quicky. What a cute age.

Stogan how wonderful to hear of someone going through the treatment again to have a second baby. I'm focussing on being able to bring one baby home at the moment but to have two more would be completely amazing. Good luck with everything.

mercator I think that's unbelievably rude and insensitive of your neighbour to blame miscarriages on the women's age, I would have been really upset had someone said it to me! Glad you corrected her.

Hello to everyone else too x

Abney · 12/01/2013 09:30

Hi all. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. All OK with my pg 22 weeks and 3 days. Can't wait until 14/05/2013 to meet my lo. I still say if instead of when but until he arrives I am not confident enough to say when. 45 years of age with 10 mc's under my belt and 1 DS aged 3.5. It has been one hell of a rollercoaster to reach this point.

I see some good news re the BFP's. Congratulations to Rose, Cartoon and Mollie. Your anxious posts bring me all of the memories from the early days and I found that the support that the other guys on this thread gave me helped enormously. Just to let you know I didn't have any symptoms until about 9 to 10 weeks. All the best of luck on your first scans. Rose I will be thinking of you today.

Good luck to everyone who is TTC'ing. Hopefully 2013 will be your year.

cartoontrickster · 12/01/2013 11:03

rose good luck! let us know how you get on.

mollieboo · 12/01/2013 13:13

Hi abney, thanks for your congrats. Wow, that is inspiring, all that you've been through and now 22 weeks pregnant. Yes the support on here is great and hearing the success stories gives me so much hope that I will get there x

roseandroli · 13/01/2013 18:04

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I had my scan yesterday and it looks like the embryo has grown a little and there is a heartbeat. Still not at that point where it's entirely in the safe zone, but at this early stage it's always hard to tell. I'm actually out of the country (I'm a writer and spending a few weeks in Asia, took the pg test on the plane so it was too late to turn back!), so I saw a very nice Thai doctor who was very sweet but did not say much.

I'm back in London in a few weeks, so I will try and resist the urge to get scanned again until I can see Dr. Shehata.

I am trying to take things one day at a time and not get completely engulfed in paranoia and googling "what is a normal fetal heart rate at 6+5 weeks?" every 5 minutes.

In the meantime, it is so inspiring to hear all your stories and I am very grateful to have this place to come to for solace and optimism.

BellyD · 13/01/2013 18:24

Great to have positive news on your scan roseandroli hope you manage to keep the mentalling at bay before you can see Mr S again.

Congrats to the other bfpers too. Lovely positive start to 2013. Hope it is contagious Wink.

Stogan · 14/01/2013 07:41

Morning all welcome all the new ladies and congrats (if a little nervously) on all BFPs fingers crossed for all of you xx

I started on the vitamin/aspirin/vit d etc cocktail again today OMG very nervous at beginning this journey again but we know it's possible so I have to try again, bloody terrified this time, more so than last time for some strange reason???.? Also I get my new NK results on Friday so it's going to be a loooooong week.

Good luck for any tests , scans etc this week and big Monday hugs (and strong cups of coffee) to all Grinxx

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 14/01/2013 08:37

I'm in London. I have my first appointment with Mr Shehata in 2 hours time, eek!
It's so reassuring to hear your lovely stories of success and positive scan results. I know I won't get any answers today, just testing, but I'm one step closer.

13Iggis · 14/01/2013 09:34

Accidental, good luck - I found that he spoke very quickly and then asked "any questions?" - and I was stumped! So think in advance if there's stuff you want to know. (Partly I didn't have a lot to ask as had learned so much from here about what he'd do). At HS I was a bit thrown by there being two others in the room (midwife and - ahem - cashier) but at the hosp place it was just me & him and he talked more.

cartoontrickster · 14/01/2013 10:10

stogan it will be interesting to see how you get on trying for a 2nd child on the treatment. it had already crossed my mind if the treatment would need changing etc etc if we were successful and wanted another. i know its a bit silly to think when we haven't even had one but me and dh wanted 2 or 3!
rose that's wonderful news!
good luck today accidental

Buster76 · 14/01/2013 11:48

Happy New Year!!
Just wanted to pop in to say hi and congratulations on the new bfp's!!
I totally remember symptom checking every 5 minutes. I never got sore boobs, just tender nipples!!
Im 26 weeks now Smile and still symptom and knicker checking! Confused
Still cant quite believe it, just started buying a few bits.
Getting scanned regularly, after my miscarriages they picked up i had factor V leiden. Anyway on the last scan they noticed Ive got some uterine artery notching!!.....just another thing to add to my medical complication list! It can basically cause pre eclampsia and poor growth in baby. Thankfully not suffering with pre eclampsia ....as yet and the growth of the baby so far so good. Getting scanned every 2 weeks at the moment, so fingers crossed!! The mentaling goes on!!
Great that stogan is about to embark on no 2!! Smile
I really cant imagine putting myself.....and my family through all this again but maybe I'll forget it all once this LO is here safe and sound. Id always wanted more than one as I have 2 really close sisters....but i'll be so so grateful just to have this one. Its lovely hear that others would go on to have more though...its obviously all worth it.
Glad your bleeding has stopped choccy, its sooo frustrating when to feel you cant even move on to the next stage.
Hope you are doing ok kittens
Hope 2013 brings you all everything that you wish for!!

xxx D

mercator · 14/01/2013 13:01

Congrats to molly, Cartoon and Rose it's a tough time the first few weeks but try and keep the faith that the 'roids' and all the other treatments incl intralipids are nuking those damn NK's! I remember the worst was the cyclogest! Smile

Abney lovely news you and kittens and buster are so far along now!

stogan fc all goes well for No. 2, I'm quite fascinated to hear your results if they're elevated from last time. I am quite addicted by this subject and still feel compelled to let others know of the treatment and not push mc under the table!!

accidental. Good luck with your appt, personally i cannot rate him highly enough and hope all went well. We have so many friends who struggle to conceive etc and just wish they'd visit him. Although appreciate my problem was the NK's, but I love the fact he doesn't give in to the age thing either as he completely discounted that fact when I went along at 42! All I got from the gp's was its your age!

Waves to everyone, hope you don't mind me popping in every now and then I love hearing how everyone is getting on.

Fwiw I had little or no symptoms on any of the drugs! Did feel slightly nauseous around 9 weeks but that was it, no sore boobs or anything! I did feel very tired after the lipids!

mercator · 14/01/2013 13:02

Slight correction, apart from massive hunger!! Resulting in chocolates etc being consumed! But I lost all that weight later on in the pregnancy. Possibly did get a bit of a moon face due to weight gain. But it does drop off so don't worry about it. I was also very wary of the steroids.

cartoontrickster · 14/01/2013 16:13

I'm glad u've said said that because I feel no different what so ever. Im hungry but I think my bellys still used to all the Xmas eating! I put on half a stone from that! but otherwise I had a bit of thrush from the cycogest but that's been fine since switching to the back door Blush . I'm sort of waiting for something to happen you know some side effects or something I was expecting to feel crappyHmm

mollieboo · 14/01/2013 17:12

rose wonderful news re your scan, I know its early days but must have been a relief.

accidental hope your appointment went well.

cartoon hope you're not mentalling too much. Its a tough game isn't it especially waiting for the first scan.

Hi to everyone else too x

roseandroli · 14/01/2013 17:37

Hi everyone!

Stogan so inspiring to hear you are trying for baby number 2. Best of luck with the new rounds of tests. Abney, kittens, buster, you're like beacons in a dark tunnel. Please keep posting about your advancing pregnancies, it's so great to hear from people who are so far along. And very best of luck with your appointment accidental. I really like Dr. Shehata--I find him reassuring and professional.

cartoon I totally know what you mean about waiting for something to happen! Cyclogest is giving me the worst side effects so far, I really hate it. Other than that, I'm just a bit more tired than usual. I wish I had more symptoms!

By the way, anyone have/had any brown spotting? It's not red, so I'm trying not to worry too much, but I get a little bit every day, sometimes with rather dark stringy clots (sorry if this is tmi).

cartoontrickster · 14/01/2013 17:41

well my doc always said that Brown blood was old blood rose probably left over from implantation. what side effects are you getting from cyclogest?

Stogan · 14/01/2013 18:39

Eagerly sat here waiting of how accidental got on with Mr S, that first appointment is so nerve wracking when ur constantly told "oh you lost all those babies due to bad luck" and then mr s tells you actually it's probably a lot more than just bad luck it's like hallelujah someone who gives a toss !!!

As for symptoms I had none I felt like I could tackle the world on the steroids, got very bad acne with them though which I still have a few scars from, it was when I came off the pred I felt dire, I actually got signed off work for two weeks as I just felt Ill but then once they were out of my system I felt grand again (albeit stressed, nervous, scared etc Shock) xxx

I can confirm it is so totally worth it though, suppose it must be if I'm willing to do it again, I doubt I would be if I was a bit older though but who knows if it's not to be this time I will still be able to thank mr s for his help and I'm very grateful for one miracle baby Smile

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 14/01/2013 20:25

It went well! It was so good - as you say Stogan - for someone to say, let's try this and test for that.

I feel very positive.
