Stogan - motherhood hasn't done much for your spelling has it?!
Free DH and I talk a lot about another baby, I think for a while we were flush with this success. But we won't, in theory because of expense/putting me through another stressful pregnancy, but really for me because I never ever want to go through another miscarriage. Ds2 has to be our 'happy ending'. (I'm sure having one already has a big impact on this of course - and being quite old).

Havingkittens · 08/01/2013 10:01

Hi Cheerful, good to hear from you!

Free, I think we will probably stop at one. OH probably would like another but Mr S said that if I do want to have another that I shouldn't leave it more than about 4 months after this one's born before I crack on (because of my age and dwindling AMH levels). I don't think I can hack that! Also, I think, for me, 43 is quite old enough to be having a baby. The last 5 years or so have been such a slog and everything seems to have been in limbo. It will be nice to have my baby and move forward with my life now. We'll see...!

13Iggis · 08/01/2013 12:19

Kittens I hope you don't mind me saying but I think if you were trying to conceive again at 4 months you wouldn't be able to make the most of the early months with your wee one - well if you were stressed etc when ttc as I imagine we all are. Also I'm still bf (though he has solids as well) and still haven't had a period at almost 8 months, so fertility might not come back that quickly either.

freelancegirl · 08/01/2013 12:43

Blimey, yes four months would be a struggle indeed Kittens. And you are right, you can fully enjoy the one you have. How is your granny getting on?

Thanks for the update Stogan and don't worry about the spelling :) Interesting to hear that Mr S feels the levels get worse. Mine were already apparently in the top 5% of people he sees at the clinic so doesn't bode well.

Iggi I always thought that, if DH agreed to a second, I could put myself through three pregnancies and then not carry on. But when i really really think about it I am not sure if I could. DH has always talked about adopting but I've not really given it much thought yet. I think there might be things that would make that difficult (his age if not mine).

ChoccyPud · 08/01/2013 20:17

Lol... Stogan that's an epic fail on the iPad!! Can't believe you all talking about second/subsequent Pred babies. I have to say I'd be delighted to have one baby at the rate I'm going. I can't take much more of this hellish rollercoaster.

Saying that, drum roll please, today is the first day I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since I started spotting when pg in late November. Just the six weeks since I mc'd. Pretty sick kind of achievement but I'm sure you guys will get why this is a Good Day...

freelancegirl · 08/01/2013 21:57

It is a good sign Choccy. I remember after my most traumatic natural miscarriage I bled for over 6 weeks too, very draining both physically and emotionally as you just want it to be over so you can work out the next step. Really hope that it's the start of good things for you.

suemays · 09/01/2013 12:18

Choccy I have started taking a natural herbal source of iron called Floradix. My acupuncturist recommended it to me as it can be taken by pregnant women and nursing mothers too so is not harmful when TTC. He told me that if your body is tired or anaemic from bleeding so heavily that it will take longer to conceive. Lets face it, we all feel impatient with this rollercoaster!
Being too tired can also cause early miscarriages to chinese medicine. I got mine from Holland and Barrett as Boots didnt sell it and it tastes disgusting but I am already feeling more energised. My period finally stopped yesterday so I know exactly how you feel about stopped bleeding as it is so draining. Its another milestone to get over so that you can TTC again. Lets hope that 2013 will bring us some good news - its our turn this year!

Welcome back Stogan!

roseandroli · 09/01/2013 12:31

Hi everyone, may I join you? It's so great to read about other peoples experiences with multiple mcs and the NK cells treatment. I've been lurking for awhile but haven't chimed in yet. You all seem so nice and supportive of each other.

I'm 37 ttc my first, 2 mcs back-to-back last year with almost exactly the same profile (saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks, but no growth after that, first time mc'd naturally, second time erpc). Saw Dr. Shehata after the last mc, he did the tests, positive for high NK cells, started pred, got a positive pg test.

Now 6 +2 and terrified. Scan booked for Saturday. We've been down this road twice before and everytime I think about that ultrasound screen, I want to throw up. Which is pretty much the only time I feel nauseous (that pred is driving me crazy, masking my symptoms and making me wonder if I would have had any in the first place...).

Sending best wishes to all of you ttc, and hand holding to those waiting for news. Lots of heartache on this thread, but also lots of hope and solidarity.

Arianrhod · 09/01/2013 13:39

sue My acupuncturist also recommended Floradix, but I take the tablets rather than the liquid as they apparently work just as well but don't taste disgusting (I tried the liquid, it was horrible!). I'd recommend them :)

Welcome rose, whispered congratulations and we all here understand your worry! Many ladies here have success with Mr S, hopefully you'll add to the list!

choccy Yay for your body getting with the plan, hope you'll be feeling better really soon!

13Iggis · 09/01/2013 16:35

Hello, just chiming in with my tuppence worth on the iron issue - Spatone! I tried floradix and hated taking it, spatone (from boots) comes in liquid sachets and you just mix it with a small glass of fruit juice. Tastless, in my opinion.
Glad your body is starting to move on Choccy, bet it's been a hard Christmas for you (and many on this thread obviously).
And best of luck to Rose, the newest recruit!

roseandroli · 09/01/2013 17:35

Thank you sue and 13Iggis!

I second the spatone. It even comes in apple flavour--almost yummy!

warm wishes to everyone...

freelancegirl · 09/01/2013 17:47

Hello Rose and a cautious congratulations to you! I know you must be bricking it (official medical term) and yes that pre scan thing is awful. What dosage of Pred are you on? Yes it definitely can mask symptoms. I felt queasy but not sick and I think that was down to hating the cyclogest - ugh I can still smell it now. Do hang around! We will all be keeping fingers crossed for you on Saturday.

Duh - I t

freelancegirl · 09/01/2013 17:49

Sorry - I meant to say - duh, I was taking spa tone for iron levels and hated it so much I stopped. Why the feck didnt I think of adding to fruit juice! Eejit.

13Iggis · 09/01/2013 17:55

Free, it says to do that on the packet! (Rare chance for me to pull a know-it-all face)

freelancegirl · 09/01/2013 18:38

Packet...? No-one told me to read that Grin

cartoontrickster · 09/01/2013 18:57

hi. I've been kinda in and out of here for months. but I think I will be here ti stay now, at least for a bit.
I have v.high nk cells and being seen by Mr s. this was our first cycle on the treatment and I'm pregnant! only just 4wks though. I almost cant believe it. I am taking all my medication and have already had my first drip. so far (touch wood) it is not to bad. my only complaint is thrush. anyone else suffer badly with this? so anyway fingers crossed I have a scan booked on the 30th. I'm not allowing myself to get my hopes up too much just yet...

freelancegirl · 09/01/2013 19:22

Ahh it's really lovely to have new/returning people and hear of some pregancies. Cautious congratulations to you too Cartoon! I really hope that both yours and Rose's pregnancies go well and there are more BFPs soon. All you pregnant and TTC people have to hold each other's hands! It's the law. I decreed it when first starting this thread :) Let us know how it goes.

Oh no thrush from me - sorry. Are you using Cyclogest? It might be irritating things. Some people tried using the tradesman's entrance but I wasn't so brave!

cartoontrickster · 09/01/2013 19:27

hi free thanks! yes I am on it and have already converted to using the tradesmans!Blush its not the nicest of things to do I must admit but really hoping it helps.

mollieboo · 09/01/2013 21:40

Hi ladies

Havent been on here for a while, life has been a struggle as the first anniversary of losing my baby boy was at beginning of January. I did get a bfp though just before new year which was wonderful news at the hardest of times.

Lovely to hear of blooming pregnancies and bouncing babies.

Im currently almost 5 weeks pregnant, trying not to get too excited at this stage, although its hard not to too! I got pregnant on the superovulation plan first time of trying. I've had a round of intralipids so far, got an appointment at my local epu tomorrow. Hoping 2013 brings lots of luck to me and everyone else on here.

Congrats to the other new bfp'ers.

Hope everyone is keeping ok x

freelancegirl · 09/01/2013 22:38

Mollieboo, Cartoon and Rose all newly pregnant - hurrah! Take every day as it comes ladies and try not to mental too much.

roseandroli · 10/01/2013 06:02

Hi everyone, congrats on your BFPs, cartoon and mollieboo (and so sorry to hear of your loss) and thanks so much for your good wishes freelancegirl and for starting this thread, what a lifesaver.

I absolutely loathe cyclogest. It has made me massively constipated (I started off using the tradesman's entrance because I was worried about thrush/cystitis but this made my constipation much worse so now going the other way). Sorry for tmi!

I am trying not to mental too much. Though I can't help poking my boobs every 5 minutes to check if they're still a little sore. Probably just sore from all the poking.

I'm on 25mg of pred, plus metformin for PCOS, and the usual cocktail of vitamin D, baby aspirin, and pregnacare + omega.

Here's to another day of "am I still pregnant?" !!

mercator · 10/01/2013 07:41

hello Everyone and Happy New Year!

Lovely to hear the positive BFP's, let's hope 2013 is a positive year for many on the board.

Lovely to hear from Stogan and Snoopy, fab news Snoopy you're almost treatment free!! yay.

Just wanted to let ladies on here know we referred a friend to Mr S who had fertility issues and had spent 10's of 000's on IVf. They ahd one IVF baby and they have now been successful with the third of their SO. I don't believe she had high NK's but thought it worth mentioning as another success story if not directly related.

I'm afraid I'm with Iggi re another pred child. I would have really loved another baby but really have to count my blessings I now have two healthy children, and if I'm honest I think it's my age which has made me really think long and hard about it and for unselfish reasons I'm going to have to stop at 2 but struggling to give away the Moses basket and baby things and maternity clothes. Perhaps not mentally ready yet.

Was also pretty furious this week as a neighbour of mine was so rude about ladies miscarrying saying it was their age, my husband and I rapidly corrected her that sometimes its not necessarily age elated but their own white blood cells attacking their babies! People can be so insensitive or I am just over sensitive!! Probabkythe latter.

From my side our little lady is doing fabulously well and very chilled thankfully. Hope all our preg ladies and pred babies are doing well! Fc for some more BFP'S!!

cartoontrickster · 10/01/2013 16:16

congrats rose and Mollieboo!
am I right in thinking that this cocktail of meds I'm on will mask any preg symptoms? Im dying to feel something soon to reassure me.

mollieboo · 10/01/2013 18:08

rose im using the tradesmans entrance for progesterone, does make me prone to a bit of wind, but makes less mess. Lovely!

cartoon the clinic did say that the pred can mask symptoms. I have got slightly sore boobs although like rose im prodding them constantly to check! Im bloated too but not sure if its just too many mince pies over Christmas!

Im only 4w6d along and my gp sent me to my epu, so I went today and they gave me a scan which I was surprised at. All they could see was a tiny sac so im going again a week today all being well. My clearblue digital test has gone up a week which makes me happy.

rose and cartoon how far along are you? I have sensations and twinges in my uterus every day, hoping its a good thing and not a bad thing, do you get anything like that?

Hello to everyone else too, hope you're having a good day xx
