hiya all

sorry to hear some of your afs have arrived. im actually wishing mine would hurry up!! we were ttc b4 i had my first af after m/c but we have both agreed to wait a while...although dp gets a bit carried away so this may or may not happen.
was my first day bac at work today after 3 weeks off...wasnt the easiest of things to cope with..some colleagues were asking me if i had had a nice holiday obviously they dont know any different but the people i had spoken to its interesting to hear about other peoples experiences. i just naturally assume people with children had it easy and have the perfect life and it didnt once enter my head the struggle they may have had to get there. i was explaining to one lady i am quite friendly why i was away and she told me she had had 3 m/c b4 her son and to never ever give up hope. so girlies this is my message to you (and myself) we are going to have our bad days but never give up hope and dont get down over ttc and when itl happen. our times will come im sure xx

Hi Girls,
Thanks for all your advice, you ahve been a great support. I have made an appt at GP tomorrow to discuss my AF cycle.
Regarding hope, I had a mc before my son and then bled for 3 months of my pg with him and he was born at term at 8 pounds 0z! I was 35 at the time.
A colleague has had her first at the age of 43.
Polly...I am sorry about your pup (I didn't know or would have said earlier, sorry).Losing a pet is hard.
Weather here in Scotland is pretty dismal today, but I believe tomorrow is to be very hot (fingers crossed).
I have still managed not to mention the baby issue to my DP. Once I get my cycle and ov sorted out, the decision may be taken away from him, when I baffle him with "safe" times!!
Love to you all
Eddi xxx

High all have been reading posts for some weeks but not much posting, Cece, haven't seen you around for a while do you post on another thread? There are some low times going on for some women here and I feel for you all. I swapped mc notes with a colleague actually today , she is now 8 months pg and due to leave at the end of the month, but didn't really tell anyone until recently ( that's if they didn't notice already!) because of what happened to her before... With her previous pg she mc'd at 20 weeks -due to a chromosonal deficiency that they were already aware of before the mc- your heart goes out.. She concluded by saying at last it wasn't a still birth as she thought that would be even more heart breaking...I stopped asking questions before we both started to cry... AF is due on Friday, I haven't had any signs of it yet and my body has been showing signs similar to previous pg's , but I might be deluding myself-cross fingers for a BFP test on Friday.

ruthlouise · 05/07/2006 07:15

K1k2 - nice to 'see' you again. Will keep everything crossed for a bfp on Friday

Good to hear your friend is 8 months pg. I expect she still can't relax until her little one arrives. I have it in my mind that if I fall pg that the first 20 weeks will be very stressful. I had a perfect scan at 12 weeks but haemorrhaged badly a few days later which went on for the next 6 weeks before our son was born. I totally agree, I can't imagine the trauma of a still birth. From the first bleed we were aware we might lose our baby so in a way we were half prepared - if its ever possible to be 'prepared' for such things. The night I went into labour I was very calm, it wasn't until he was delivered, then obviously died that all the emotions came out. Have been studying my cycle and think I OV much earlier than I thought at day 9-10 so am feeling a bit more positive that we might manage to catch it right soon. With our son we lost it took 6 months ttc but I so want to be pg before middle of Aug as thats when Isaac was due. Its not easy when you have friends who were due the same time either is it?

Hope you all get to see some sunshine today. Sun is shining here on the SE coast . Shame I have to go to work!

Smole · 05/07/2006 10:00

Good luck today oinker.

I did a test (see - no patience) BFN. Still no sign of AF and its stopped feeling like she's going to arrive.

Nicola63 · 05/07/2006 11:25

My AF also due in next few days. My last 3 cycles (since m/c) have ranged between 25 and 32 days so I'm not quite sure when to expect. Trying not to think about it, really. Have to drive from London to Brighton and then back this afternoon, for work, so will have a bit too much time alone to think, unfortunately!

Smole · 05/07/2006 11:44

Fingers crossed she stays away for you Nicola.

Good luck for Friday K1K2.

cece · 05/07/2006 15:55

K1K2.
Hi,
Have been on a few other more general chat sort of posts but have been lurking here for a while. Don't feel right posting though as DH not keen on TTC. He said he didn't think he could go through all that grief again. i thought he meant the mc but no he meant having another baby I was so upset I could barely speak to him for a week. I also had my AF at the time so double blow.

ruthlouise · 05/07/2006 17:12

OH Cece, you poor thing. I can't think of much worse after having an m/c than an unsupportive dh in terms of ttc. Hope you and Mips have some success with the suggestions others have made on this thread.

Good luck Nicola and Smole. Everything crossed for you X. Would be great to have a run of BFP's

Mips · 05/07/2006 18:01

Hi Cece,
I can give you my e-mail address if you want and we can perhaps share our thoughts about ttc without letting our DH's know!!
I went to the docs today about my irregular AF, and mentioned to him about my DH's reluctance and the fact he suffers depression. Doc suggested we come and see him together, so now gotta persuade him to do that! Doc on hols for 2 weeks, so got some time to work on him.
Love Mips xxx

babyfettle · 05/07/2006 20:18

Lovely to hear from you Cece - have been thinking about you, hoping that you were managing to persuade DH. No luck yet, though?

My DH starting asking just before he went away how much longer we should try before accepting our lot and be happy with DD. It's tricky, before mc, I just thought I had to deal with subfertility issues (4-5 AF a year), but then to have a mc really threw me. I'd actually managed to get pg and then to lose it again was so hard. Not sure I can bear the thought of trying again for another 1 year before we ask for help. What do you girls think? Do you think we should go to GP in November, when DH is back and lie and say we have been trying since Feb when had MC, or give it a few more months longer of actually TTC? Would feel a bit bad as we won't have been trying for 4 months, but as this cycle (3rd in nearly 6 months since mc) drags on (CD28 and still no ovulation signs), I can only assume that it is going to take another 2 years before conceive. I know we are only young (31), so time is still on our side-ish, but I don't want to have a huge gap between 2 year-old DD and any siblings.

Help - gone on a bit long - sorry, but know that some of you have/are undergoing tests and wonder in your experience/opinion how long we should leave it?

Anyway, hope those AF's stay away - finger's crossed for you all!

Angsthase · 06/07/2006 09:25

BF - must admit I lied to GP about how long we'd been trying. DH works away (similar to yours, but different pattern) and I was already 38, so felt we couldn't wait. We'd only been ttc for 6mths of which DH was away for 3 of my OV's.
I have regular AF's but wanted to know if there was something else. Turned out nothing against us but time

In your case you have irregular AF's - maybe you should go see your GP BEFORE DH returns and try to get that regulated? What do others think? Don't they prescribe Clomid sometimes for that?? (not sure here) - maybe post on the clomid site to ask.

Good luck

HTH

Mips · 06/07/2006 09:41

I have heard that Agnus castus helps to regulate your Af.
Goodluck

rubles · 06/07/2006 09:51

Babyfettle, I would get down to your doctors sooner rather than later to be honest. I think (but don't actually know) they would only insist you wait for 6/12 months if there were no other reasons to think anything were amiss. But the fact you are having such very long cycles does seem to point to something that should be treated. Also, I'd lie when I went & say that I'd been trying since February.

rubles · 06/07/2006 09:52

Oinker, let us know when you hear the results of your tests.

oinker · 06/07/2006 09:52

Hi ladies...

Not up to chatting too much

For those that are interested, my test results can be read on CHAT thread headed Diddle, Mygirl, Pepperpots, helkat, Oinker

rubles · 06/07/2006 09:53

ooh crossed posts. will go check.

rubles · 06/07/2006 10:07

Oinker, honey,
That does sound scary but it may just be the medical terminology....you may find that the implications are that things are not nearly as bad as they sound in that report. I hope that you get to speak to someone soon & maybe it won't seem so overwhelming then. Take care.

Mips · 06/07/2006 10:44

Hi Rubles,
I am sorry you are feeling down.I tried to access your test results thread, but being a newbie don't seem to be able to find it!
Justwanted to let you know I am thinking of you.
