Thanks ladies.

Rubles, time4tea is right about the baby dancing every 2 days. That's exactly what I do. Sometimes every day. Depends on the mood and whether Dh is at home.
It does get too stressful with temps and saliva tests. I get ready for day 3 after a/f and then go for it . It has worked. Longest I have waited to get p/g was 3mths and that was cos doc told me to wait.

rubles · 29/06/2006 11:33

That's what I am going to do this month - no temps, no opk. We have loads of 'how's-your-father' anyway these days so it is just a question of trying not to control it or be conscious of it. Have told dp that he has to be healthy, relaxed, back from work early next week and he's not allowed any social events in anticipation of lots of luuuurve.

Nicola, a holiday for your 43rd sounds a very good idea to soften the blow of that extra year. (Obviously the best case scenario is that you are pregnant then and you are feeling dog rough!)

Mips · 29/06/2006 12:14

Hi...first time I posted. i had a miscarriage on the 20th May. I had my first AF on the 12th June, after 23 days.i am usually around a 25/26 day cycle. My husband and I thought we would wait another month before ttc again. However, we had sex only once on holiday! that was 6 days ago. Today i have cramps and two little drops of red blood. Could it be implantation?
I have a ds who is 3 and can't remember having this last time. i had cramps around ovulation but no blood.
Any advice? Or am i just wishful thinking?
Mips xxx

rubles · 29/06/2006 12:45

Mips it could be implantation because I think I have read that implantation could happen as early as this. Fingers crossed for you.
Be prepared though that it could also be the case that your hormones and periods haven't settled down yet so you may not see a pattern you recognise.

time4tea · 29/06/2006 15:24

so many holidays planned! fantastic. lots of stuff to look forward to. Oinker, any news, how did it go?

Given that I got pg first cycle after ERPC, maybe it is the case that these obs/gynae operations have some effect (either that or we "give up control" knowing that issues are being looked into, therefore relax) The pg I miscarried began in the month I was having a blood test to check I was ovulating...

oinker · 29/06/2006 18:54

All went well today.
I had to strip and put a gown on. I was alone in the cubicle cos Dh was struggling to find a parking space. Anyway I couldn't do the blasted thing up. I peeked out of the cubicle door only to find dishy doc standing there. He greeted me and asked me to follow him. I told him about the gown and the sweetie did it up for me. He got a fulla moon. Mind you he got more than an eyeful several minutes later. Anyway, I am a bit sore and crampy, nothing too major though. I am just glad that it is over with.
My GP can get the results on Monday. I was checking out the images myself and they all appeared OK. I was comparing it to images I have downloaded from the internet. Having said that I was looking at the images from a dodgey angle.

Hello ladies! Not sure which thread to join as a few seem relevant!
I miscarried last October, it was a missed miscarriage and had no idea such a thing existed until I went for my 12 week scan. I felt cheated for this to happen without any indications. This baby would have been my third child and we have been trying to conceive since the beginning of this year but nothing seems to be happening.
Every month I think, maybe this month, and every time my period comes I do feel very sad (my other three pregnancies happened very easily, two in the first month of trying).
I've scanned through but wanted to check out what you are all using to aid conception? The 75mg aspirin seems popular but why do you take this? Same with cough medicine, grapefruit juice, etc! I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating, have done the test for a few months with positive results but not the last couple of months. Do most of you use the ovulation kits?
It feels quite lonely, all this trying with no results and I find it hard to talk to anyone about it as I have two beautiful girls and sometimes I feel I'm being greedy but I feel so strongly that I want another, how do you all keep going?
Seem to have rambled on a bit, sorry!!

desperate2bmum · 30/06/2006 09:26

hi girls

just got my BFN result after my m/c so i have the all clear now! we shall be ignoring the doctors advice about waiting until my first a/f. i am now 14 days fromw hen i m/c which i believe is the most fertile time.
guess what we will be up to this hot and sunny weekend?!! hehe

time4tea · 01/07/2006 10:35

Hello Janus, welcome - you're in the right place. I've found the Toni Weschler book "taking control of your fertility" useful reading. I did the charts etc and it helped focus the mind. Hang out here, we're all in it together.

I really sympathise with the missed mc situation - I had exactly the same thing at the 12 week scan in late April. I managed to get pg again first cycle after the mc (not unusual apparently) but obviously it is difficult accepting it, let alone relaxing. We all have a struggle ahead of us. But there is friendship here.

My heart goes out to you, it is a horrible moment when the scan doesn't turn out as it should.

wishing you luck XXX love to all the ladies on the thread, enjoy the sunny day (lovely weather here in London!)

oinker · 01/07/2006 13:55

Welcome Janus,
i am so sorry to hear of your loss.
You are in the right place. Everyone on here is in the same boat as you.
Not everyone is taking medication to aid pregnancy as such. We all take folic acid (at least I beleive so).
I almost consider my self a form of expert when it comes to pregnancy prescribed treatments. i have had 7 m/c and no viable pregnancies and am therefore receiveing help from a clinic. The 75mg (baby aspirin) is given to help thin out the blood. This is generally given after extensive blood tests. I would't self medicate. You could do more harm than good. I do aaspirin, heparin and progesterone only when pregnant.
Some of the girlies on here use ov kits. Some take their temps. I found the saliva test the easiest to read for me. The other best way is to baby dance everyday or second day from day 8 of your cycle. Do this up until day 18 or 21 depending on your cycle length.
You will get there. Some of us take longer than others.
Here's some baby dust for you.x .·´ ¸.·´¨)

Hello all - hope everyone's well and looking forward to some extra BD-ing now that England are out of the footie!

Welcome Janus and Mips and anyone else I've missed and good luck with ttc.

Rubles - welcome back. So glad to see you. There's no need to feel embarrassed about celebrating - any one of us would have been exactly the same, and just as heartbroken when it didn't happen. Hope the chilled-out approach is helping you feel a bit better.

Oinker - fingers crossed for some positive help for you from your test results.

Time4Tea - thanks for thinking of me on Thursday. The cremation service was lovely (if that doesn't sound like a contradiction) - just a few prayers and we all got to light a candle to our babies. I have had another really awful week, which is why I haven't been online - we had to have our gorgeous 15-week-old puppy put to sleep on Tuesday on the advice of our vet. He had some sort of neurological problem which meant he was having more and more 'fits' during which he became really aggressive and attacked people (including us) and we were left with no choice. It was the most terrible, heart-wrenching thing I have ever had to go through - it actually feels worse than losing the baby in a way because he kind of became my substitute baby after the mc. DH brought him home and we buried him in the garden. And now there are two fewer in our family than there were just over a month ago. Life can only get better - can't it?

ruthlouise · 02/07/2006 10:14

Not my month I'm afraid. AF arrived this morning . DH had a bad crush injury on his big toe yesterday. Dropped a car seat on it and literally shattered the bone into at least 6 pieces.as a metal prong went through. and missed the whole of the England match as he was in A&E for nearly 5 hours, poor thing. That might curtail our BD activities as I OV on day nine or ten...

oinker · 02/07/2006 10:15

Littlepolly

Life is so bloody cruel sometimes. You have had such a testing time recently.
I really hope better things start coming your way and soon.

oinker · 02/07/2006 10:17

ruthlouise...

What a bummer.

Fingers crossed for next month.

ruthlouise · 02/07/2006 12:51

little Polly - sorry I didn't respond earlier. Was so peed off with AF, I didn't read all your post through. I'm so sorry and apologies for being so self absorbed. ((((hugs)))).

Janus · 03/07/2006 10:56

Good morning.
Little Polly, feel so sorry for what a horrible time you are going through. We have a puppy too and you get so attached so quickly so I feel so sorry for you, hope things are getting a little easier for you.
Sorry for those of you who have had AF arrive. I have finally worked out what that means!! Have no idea what all the other initials mean though 'BFP', 'BDing', etc. Can anyone enlighten me?! Thanks.

desperate2bmum · 03/07/2006 11:07

hi all
i hope you all had a lovely weekend far to hot for me!! (more ways than one (wink) hehe
i am taking the if it happens it happens approace to ttc do you think this will lessen my chances if i dont monitor my temp and use ov sticks? i just cant be bothered with all the hassle and dont want to make it into a chore and put pressure on myself to make it happen...and besides i wouldnt have a clue on what to do anyway! do most of you use the monitoring yourself measures?

rubles · 03/07/2006 11:13

Ruthlouise, sorry about AF, it's such a disappointment. I hope you are feeling better today.

Does everyone else find that their mood follows the same pattern as the month goes on?...
i.e
CD 1 - 3 a major downer at AF time
CD 4 - 19 feel good & normal
CD 20 - 28 tension, stress & general madness
CD 29 AF down we go again

I went to an acupuncturist last week. She was so lovely - she's a midwife and deals with fertility and pregnancy issues mainly - she seemed to really understand me. I don't know if it is a lot of hocus pocus or not, but it felt nice to feel like I was doing something and it was good to talk to her.
If anyone wants a recommendation of someone in East London, she's your woman.
She said she would prefer me to hold off ttc for a month or two - yeah right!

rubles · 03/07/2006 11:16

desperate2bmum, I have charted etc on previous months but this month I am going it alone. I am hoping that it'll somehow relieve the pressure, if poss. As long as you do-the-do that's all that matters really isn't it.

rubles · 03/07/2006 11:27

Janus just saw your post - you are not alone, oh no.
I have been trying since February (sort of) although I had a month 'off' in April. It is a long road. If you knew there was a definate end date it wouldn't be so bad, I reckon, but you don't know which month is going to be your month - it could be this one or it could be another year down the line (oh please no..).
I take starflower oil capsules for the first half of my cycle and drink grapefruit juice as it helps with cervical fluid.

Angsthase · 03/07/2006 11:38

Little Polly - really sorry - yes life can only get better - and hopefully soon.

Rubles - sometimes it's just good to feel like you're doing something and I don't think acupuncture can do any harm. If it makes you feel better, go for it I say.

Desp2bmum - I think relaxing is the most important thing, so not temping / charting maybe just what you need.

Ruth Louise - AF sucks. Know how you feel.
Now my DH is away while I should be OV'ing - pooh.

Smole · 03/07/2006 12:28

Littlepolly so sorry to hear about your puppy. It must have been heartbreaking.

Rubles - agree with that pattern totally

Well I'm on cd29. Expecting Af either today or tomorrow. Thought she was arriving this morning but I must have been seeing things.

Mips · 03/07/2006 13:21

Hi there,
Thanks for the welcome.
I am still awaiting AF, and thought I could pssible be pg again, but getting real AF type pains today.
On a bit of a downer, after mc last month, my DP now says he doesn't want to try again...he is happy with just my son.The only thing that was seeing me through teh mc was the thought of trying again. I am 38, and don't want to wait too long. i love children and would live with regret if i never tried for another.
Any advice as to how to change my DP mind?
He says to give him a month to think it through, but I am so impatient.
love Mips xxx

rubles · 03/07/2006 13:38

Why has he changed his mind though? Or was your last pregnancy unplanned?
