Enjoy your wine...might treat myself to a wee glass while I have a nice bath..dh is away tonight so I've got peace and quiet! (and no-one pestering me with ''are you ovulating? do you think you might be pregnant? aaagh!)

I think ttc while not actively, obsessively 'trying' is the way forward. You have to be relaxed, not stressed. There are so many stories on here of women who have ttc'd for months and months, then given up, gone on holiday, drank loads of wine, relaxed and boom! It happens. It'll be the same for us, I bet!

oinker · 10/05/2006 10:37

Well,

I'm back......... Well, sort of Smile
Will be going in for ERPC on friday which will bring this pregnancy to an official end. Sad

I am not allowed to get pregnant until the end of August because of all the tests etc being done at Lesley Regans clinic.

I have my first appointment on 6th June...Smile
Hopefully there will be some sort of positive result form this.

In the mean time I am here to hopefully support and advise you guys.

So come on girlies..... Who's going to be next Smile

Here's some baby dust. Smile

Oinker I notice you have mentioned about your fibroids I too had one huge and taking more room than baby and squashing everything and although they said that it wouldn't be a factor I still do wonder. Mention again to LR when you go to see her. Best of luck with the tests etc I am sure LR will get to the bottom of it. x

Nicola63 · 10/05/2006 11:49

Oinker I was so sorry to read about your m/c and hope you recover soon and get some answers from the clinic. I also lost twins in a m/c, last year, and it was very difficult. You will heal and feel better but you can't rush it.

weewilliewinkie · 10/05/2006 11:58

take care of yourself oinker. I'll be thinking about you on Friday.

One thing I thought I'd share - when I was in hospital waiting to be taken for my d & c, I had a wee 'moment' with my baby (still in my tummy, of course). I cried and told her I loved her, that I was sorry I wouldn't get to meet her just yet, but that she would always be in my heart. I was hiding under the covers and holding my belly at the time. If anyone had come in they would've thought I was mad. But I felt that it gave me time to make peace with my baby - I felt almost like I was asking forgiveness from her for not being able to hold on to her, you see. I was glad I'd done that as everything happened very quickly very soon after that. It's funny, I hadn't thought of that since it happened. Anyway, what I'm saying Oinker is, it was a comforting thing for me to do while I was waiting for the inevitable. It might help you too?

Smole · 10/05/2006 12:11

Oinker I was following your progress on the other thread and was so sorry to hear about the scan results yesterday.

Happy to welcome you back :) but so so sad to see you here again.:(

Hopefully Lesley Reagan will be able to tell you what keeps going wrong.

babyfettle · 10/05/2006 20:16

Oh Oinker! We've not "met" before, but so so sorry to hear your news. I hope all goes ok on Friday.

I have to admit that it happening all over again really scares me if I do manage to conceive again. I assume that's normal? I know I'm really really lucky, as I already have a beautiful 2 year old DD, so sometimes feel as if I can't complain, particularly reading some of the sad stories from you all on this thread, who have had more than 1 mc.

From scanning the thread, it's been a while since anyone graduated, perhaps we should think about starting a shiny new one! Babies will probably be New Year ones by now as well. Just don't know the etiquette for this!!

ruthlouise · 10/05/2006 23:11

Oinker - I'm so sorry. ((((hugs))))
Will be thinking of you on Friday. Sad

oinker · 11/05/2006 10:55

Thanks for all your kind words.
It has really helped.Smile

I am trying to keep it together for tomorrow. I just want this all over and done with.Sad It frightens the life out of me. I hate the thought of being put to sleep....What if something goes wrong and I don't wake up? Sad I know it's stupid...it's only a minor operation. Dh was trying to reassure me last night and said that I go to sleep every night and wake up and that's exactly the same... The only difference is that should I have heart failure whilst asleep at home I would probalby die. In hospital they monitor you so you are likely to survive. Shock What a git!!!!Shock I hardly slept a wink last night!!!!

I can laugh about it now Grin

oinker · 11/05/2006 10:57

One other quick question....

I have been told that they will be inserting something into me to dilate the cervix b 4 the op.
Has anyone had this doen to them b4?
What happens?

Smole · 11/05/2006 11:47

On my erpc I had a pill thingy put up there to make the cervix open slightly. I didn't feel anything if that that helps.

babyfettle · 11/05/2006 13:16

Hi Oinker

I had to have two ERCP's following my mc, as the 1st wasn't completely successful (only happens in 1% of cases, so don't worry about that). With the first, I had a pessary put inside me by the surgeon about 30 mins prior to the operation. (TMI, I know, but you asked!)

The 2nd time around, which was about 8 weeks later, they said I didn't need anything as the cervix would have been relaxed enough by the previous operation.

I too was worried (irrationally) about the general anesthetic. But my anesthetist gave me a really gentle one, felt just like drinking two very large glasses of wine and then having the best sleep I had had in ages. They even woke me up gently afterwards and I felt really relaxed.

Try not to worry about it, having been through 2 in quick succession, I can vouch that they are not as bad as you think they might be.

SKYTVADICT · 11/05/2006 13:22

Oinker - I had an ERPC just over 4 weeks ago and was feeling exactly the same as you are today. I even said to my DP what happens if I don't wake up. Actually it all went very well. We had to be at the hospital for 8.15. I had a pessary to open cervix and just had to lay still for a while, went down to theatre at 10.30 was back and awake by 11.15 and home by 2.30. It was all very difficult and a bit of a shock but 4 weeks on and we are feeling a bit better. Role on July when we can try again. If we so decide!!

time4tea · 11/05/2006 13:55

hello Oinker

really sorry about your news - will think of you tomorrow. I had an ERPC 2 and a half weeks ago. I had a pessary put in to relax the cervix - a bit of a fumble from the doctor but surprising rather than uncomfortable (I hadn't been expecting it and it was a bit of an Ooooh! Matron! moment Smile) I too panicked just before going under the anaesthetic - said a quick Act of Contrition etc in a panic but saw the funny side of my panic once I woke up. Like Babyfettle says, it was a nice sleep and I felt fine when I woke up, and was home by 3pm. Bring something good to read as there might be hanging around - I re-read the Secret Garden and it really made me feel that there are good things ahead if only we just get out and get digging. Good luck to you tomorrow XXXXX

oinker · 11/05/2006 14:49

Thanks.......

My mind is rested..Smile

Have to cut my toenails, shave legs and trim the necessary area Wink Grin...
Last time they did it for me and wasn't happy with the final style. GrinShock

Am staying positive..
I am just about to book anniversary trip and summmer hols. Smile

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 12/05/2006 01:04

Not posted for ages. Computer which was nearly as old as me eventually crashed out and just got new laptop today!

Hope old gang all ok?

I went to GP as been trying 12 mths now since stillbirth. Tests so far show I am ovulating and I have been told I have a fertile age of around 33 (I am nearly 39)which I guess means I have some eggs left..dh is waiting for results of sperm tests (should get any day and he is worried) and I am going in for lap and dye on 1st June. Kinda hoping they find something (albeit fixable) and at least I have an answer to my infertility. I concieved both dd and philippa (who was stillborn) the first month so I am pretty desperate now although realise how lucky I am to have dd who is a constant joy.

ruthlouise · 12/05/2006 11:53

Oinker - thinking of you today. Hope all went smoothly for you ((((hugs))))

ruthlouise · 12/05/2006 11:56

Hi Chocolatepeanut - Welcome back to the thread. can't imagine life without my pc.

Am 8-9 days past OV and had some spotting last night. Was quite philosophical about it and have been thinking it is start of AF (grrr!). But have been active all morning and have had no further bleeding so am now wondering whether it could be implantation bleeding? Don't know what to do with myself now. AF will prob show up full force later today but there's that little hope growing inside which could be totally crushed by tonight. With last pg, I had had some spotting at 6 weeks and was told that was prob implantation bleeding. But this time I have no AF to date by although definitely OV'd last Wed/Thurs so think it's too soon for AF? And too soon to test?
How many times do you need to go to the loo in an hour?!!!

FirstNikki · 12/05/2006 13:00

Hello ladies..

Oinker - thinking of you today and that today goes ok. x

Ruthlouise - fingers crossed AF stays away.

Best of luck with those bfp's!

Smole · 12/05/2006 14:25

Hello Nikki. How are you?

Ruthlouise - it sounds promising.
We need a bfp as there hasn't been one for ages.

Oinker - Hope you are ok.

oinker · 12/05/2006 16:53

Hi guys.......

Everything went well today.
Strangely enough I am feeling fine too. Was in operating theatre at 1115 and home by 3. Had my own private suite too.

Bit of a dilemma though.....
I have been given an appointment(8wks) to have a HSG... this is an xray of the uterus. Basically they stick a dye in and do the xray. It has taken the sods nearly 2 yrs to sus that I have a septate uterus.Shock I told them about this after my scan revealed this during my first m/c in Sept. 2004. They told me it was not an issue. (IDIOTS)
Anyway, I am going to have to ask St Marys what to do. Do I let my current hospital just crack on with their tests? They have sent samples of what was removed today for tests too. Results will be back in 5 weeks. This is the first time they have bothered to do any proper testing!!!! Angry

The main thing is I got thru the op...Smile
Going to go to sleep now.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Smile

Angsthase · 13/05/2006 11:00

Oinker - glad it all went well yesterday. Get lots of rest and try to chill out as much as poss.
I had my op on monday. The op itself was fine, just the 7 hour wait to get taken into surgery was a bit annoying. Angry

Feeling ok, but have been a bit up and down emotionally this week.

Now trying to move on and start thinking about ttc. How soon after an ERPC can you / did anyone have sex?? Don't expect to catch straight off, but we are quite out of practice at the mo BlushWink

oinker · 13/05/2006 15:27

Angsthase.......I waited two weeks. Wink

It's really up to you and when you feel up to it.

You can TTC whenever you feel like it. Docs say to wait until after one normal bleed as this helps them to date a pregnancy. But as I have discovered that is not the case. They hardly ever consider the dates and go by measurement of sac and feotal pole.

Good luck. Smile

I will not be trying until I have all my answers. Have my appointment on the 6th June and know that I will be asked not to get pregnant until at least the end of August.... I have a whole summer off..... I am going to make the most of it. Smile Wink

babyfettle · 13/05/2006 19:11

Oinker, I'm glad everything went well. Definitely take things easy, although it is a short general anesthetic, it takes more out of you than you think at the time.

Angathase, I was told to wait til the bleeding stopped following ERCP as far as sex was concerned due to possibility of infection, but not to TTC for 2-3 months, or as soon as we felt we were emotionally ready, not for any other reason. I ended up needing another ERCP, as I was still bleeding 8 weeks following my 1st op, so once it stopped after the 2nd one, we didn't bother waiting any longer and started TTC, so I can sympathise with your out of practice comment Wink!

Unfortunately, AF arrived 2 weeks later, but hopefully this month we can try again, properly at last!

I would start as soon as you feel ready to - good luck!

Cece- you back on-line yet - how did the move go?

ruthlouise · 14/05/2006 12:53

Oh well, not this month for me. Full AF arrived today after leading me up the garden path and having no further spotting from a few days ago. Wasn't due on 'til Wed / Thurs so guess that means the luteal phase is out of sync at the moment too.

WWW and Nicola63 - hope you are more successful with your missions this month Smile
