Just Shagging Part 10; No science or skill, JS at will!

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/06/2012 14:03

Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

Hola all!
Just tried out fertilityfriend as I want somewhere to write all my period dates down...and it tells me I have a 34 day cycle. gah! I know that's longer than normal so gah! I love JS, and the idea of all the OPK/science stuff bores the crap out of me but I'm starting to feel as though it won't happen unless we fluke it.
Only mention as I thought my period was due now/tomorrow but the website thinks it's due at the weekend. I tested this morning & BFN.

hooya, hope you're having a wonderful time...a small part of me also hopes you're on holiday in Skegness, it's a wonderful unisex name Grin

guinea, hope DD is ok now?

Kitten, enjoy using the shag cape, DH is working long nights so no shagging for me.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Dysgu · 07/08/2012 21:15

Hi all - again I have been out of contact as we have been away (another houseswap - life is so exciting with two little DDs!) but I have just caught up... sorry to read about the MMCs and hospital stays but hopefully everyone is feeling like it's 'onwards and upwards' and the capes are at the ready.

We did quite well with DTD whilst away - more in the first few days but I think those were the fertile ones. Then DD1 was ill (but it is easier to have an ill child in someone else's house than in a hotel) which meant lots of sleepless nights with high temperatures and sickness. I am unable to sleep unless everyone else in the house is asleep and I wake at the smallest sound too so I managed even less sleep than DD1. Luckily DD2 and DP can sleep through anything (although DP is great at waking very quickly to sort sick!) and they both manage to get back to sleep very quickly too if they are woken up.

Anyway, I have just signed up for myfertilityfriend - only so that I can keep a check on when ERTD arrives as I totally forgot last month. Can't get my head around all the charting so didn't even look and didn't sign up for some course they can send you Hmm

I am also hoping to do something about this 'fat belly' (to quote DD1) of mine as there were scales in the houseswap house and I now know how much I weigh so no pretending any more. I am not going to diet or anything but am going to try hard to stop snacking and especially plan to cut down on sugary snacks and fizzy drinks.

Kittenkatzen · 07/08/2012 21:24

Good luck with the healthy eating dysgu I'm doing something similar. Snacking is the killer for me - I tend to confuse boredom with hunger.

Feel like I'm missing out on something now so I'm off to check out myfertilityfriend! Grin

notsoold · 07/08/2012 22:33

Hi all
I am writing from phone so I hope it works.
I have been lurking for a while waiting for my first ertd after erpc... and it took so long dh tought I was too stressed and needed a holiday. We went away with ds and sure enough blasted ertd came....
But it was lovely and we came home all relaxed and thinking about our plan ( jsing EOD).
Only thing in the horizon was dh kidney removal in the hospital. That went quite badly so he has stents inserted for the next 3 weeks.
I can see that jsing will be non existent this month....
To get rid of the stents dh ( the most private person ever) said to surgeon that we have to dtd every other day as we are trying to conceive. This from the guy that never says anything relating to his body without blushing- bless him)
Surgeon said to him that dh could wait and then he said ( and I quote) no we can't. Our hearts are already pregnant as my wife says.
Still no jsing and hopefully dh will be out of hospital tomorrow.

notsoold · 07/08/2012 22:48

Sorry....hiya to all...
Kitten....so will I. Never looked into fertilityfriend!
Dysgu...houseswap??? Interesting! Although can't imagine anybody wanting to come where we live!
Guinea dd ok?
Woman nice to hear from you
Hi to all!!!

Dysgu · 08/08/2012 08:49

Welcome nosoold hoping that your DH is out of hospital today and doing well. I like that 'our hearts are already pregnant' as that is how we feel - it seems to be taking much longer this this time than with either of 2DDs but then, we are that much older and have put more talk/thought into having a 3rd DC than either of the others.

As for house swapping - we only started this year as I begrudged paying a grand for a mobile home in August! We are limited to going away in school holidays and this works really well. We do it through the NCT site so we swap with other 'normal families' with small-child friendly homes. As for not wanting to come to where you live - the location is less important for us; the girls just love playing with other children's toys and running around different gardens and parks. We normally manage a couple of day trips but otherwise it is just as easy as being at home but with new scenery so keeps the kids happy!

notsoold · 08/08/2012 09:38

I will then look into it Dysgu...i am sure someone wants to stay in a house with teenager boy things!...
Oh I miss the dolls my DD used to have!!! That is another problem with the long gap....all DD toys are in her new flat in her grown up life and all DS toys are hidden away ,because "I am 13 you know!" hidden in a drawer and coming out at night/bored/anxious time
I was impressed with him too, as he only says what really matter to him.As I speak no stop, hence here no stop!!! (like luchtime break in the school playground??)
The most glorious sunshine in Manchester (miracle, right??)

Couchsweetpotato · 08/08/2012 14:31

Hello to everyone. I wonder if I can join you? I am the proud mother of DD, aged 14 months, and this is my first month of TTC #2. Last time it took a few months and I went a bit mad with the temping and charting etc. This time I want to go down the EOD road, and just relax a bit. I would like some company on the journey!

notsoold · 08/08/2012 15:13

Welcome couch...come and relax here as everyone is really nice! :)
14 months is a lovely age isn't it???

DH is home ...doctor said yes to jsing but not that I know he has stents inside I am having second thoughts!!!

AWomanCalledHorse · 08/08/2012 16:13

Welcome Couch!

notso, hope DH is feeling ok, sounds like you've both had a very stressful time recently, I think we'd be having very, very careful boring sex if DH had stents inside him. Have fun trying!
'Our hearts are already pregnant' is lovely, we feel the same here too.

Dysgu, house swapping sounds really interesting! Good luck cutting down on the snacks, I've got the world's worst diet so am trying to change it for DS's sake (he eats off my plate so I keep the junk until he goes to sleep, trying to cut it out completely).

Having a really rubbish PMT day, I wish there was something I could do to stop ERTD whilst still being able to get a BFP.

OP posts:
Couchsweetpotato · 08/08/2012 16:39

Hello and thanks for the welcome.

notso, you are very brave. There is no way I would be sexing with a stent involved! But how nice that your DH is so committed.

Dysgu, the house swap does sound very tempting, but I fear the amount of tidying we would have to do. (We live with DH's two children, who are 13 and 10, so there is a LOT of stuff around!)

horse, I hear ya on the PMT. I just got my period back after a two year gap and at least it explained the screaming meltdown I had last week.

I am also trying to lose weight. I piled it on after DD was born eating cake every day and abandoning all my healthy eating habits during pregnancy. I have lost a few pounds recently but we're off on holiday this weekend so I think they may reappear quite soon. I just hope I don't weigh too much to conceive!

notsoold · 08/08/2012 17:03

Creeky right? Stents....
But he needs to be committed as we are getting old ....lol
Horse my pmts used to be horrible and acupuncture helped a lot. Apart from the comfort eating...

notsoold · 08/08/2012 17:03

Creepy I mean....

notsoold · 08/08/2012 17:05

Creepy I mean....
Not very smart this phone is it?

Persuasion · 08/08/2012 19:33

Hi guys, I've been absent for a while, have been feeling quite disengaged from the whole process and a bit miserable after ERTD got me 2 weeks ago, do have been hiding and genuinely JSing (no counting, no conception forums, sex when we feel like it). So am going to be quiet for a while but am keeping an eye on you and will be back when I'm feeling perkier.

So sorry for those with MCs, fx for you

Kittenkatzen · 09/08/2012 07:30

Hi persuasion sorry you've been feeling down Sad. Happy JSing and hope to see you back soon!

notsoold · 09/08/2012 12:01

Hi persuasion ...The strain can be great on one when TTC. Take care, hun and I hope to see you back here soon!

Gosh I need to lose some more weight and although WW member have not been for a while! Anybody following the 5:2 or alternate days fasting that will tell me which thread to follow???

THis thread was easy , jsing is a pleasant activity and diet not so much. Besides everyone is really nice here and funny....

TobyLerone · 09/08/2012 12:10

Can I join please?

I have a DS (12) and a DD (11) and my DP of a few years has no DC. We have, after a huge amount of dithering (at one point there was a list of reasons to make a list of pros and cons), to TTC.

We've only started this month, and I think we started too late, but we're enjoying it all the same :o

Really can't be arsed with all the charting malarkey, so I think that JS'ing will be for us!

AWomanCalledHorse · 09/08/2012 12:15

Persuasion, it is really crap when you're trying and nothing seems to work. ERTD is awful when you're ttc. Hope to see you around soon, have fun JS-ing!

notsoold, I used to alternate day fast (up until I got pg) I wouldn't now because DS eats off my plate (and I'm worried about him picking up my bad eating habits, used to be anorexic) and it really worked for me (however as an ex-anorexic it wasn't a struggle for me to not eat on everyother day, I'm not sure how a 'normal' person would find it)...
Going on what I know about sports/body science I would hazard saying alternate is better for your body than 5:2 just because you should still be active/working/etc on your good/bad days whereas it can be easy to eat badly & not move alot on the weekend.
What exercise are you doing atm?

ERTD got me this morning, which is great for knowing that my PMT was PMT & me not being a grumpy cow but not so good for random cycle! And the trying for a baby thing Grin
A question for those who have been pregnant; How did your ERTD change after a pregnancy? Mine has gone from clockwork to randomly long.

AWomanCalledHorse · 09/08/2012 12:18

Welcome Toby, 'charting malarkey' you say..you'll fit in here fine!

Forgot to ask, what's everyone upto this weekend?

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 09/08/2012 12:21

Thanks :o

This weekend we shall be taking our bell tent to Brighton to have a weekend of shopping, shagging, eating and drinking. Of course, I am fully expecting the ERTD to turn up and spoil at least some of it.

notsoold · 09/08/2012 12:49

Welcome Toby!!

awoman I thought the same as the stress of 2 days is higher than 1 day, plus the fact that is a lot of meals to manouvre....
I go tho the gym about 3 days a week. Always classes as I hate the gym and the hairy men there!!!
My classes are Steps, Body combat, and Acqua aerobics. Plus walking the dog but she moves so slow lazy like her owner that doesn't count!
My culprit is that I love to eat and cook and cook to eat!! Smile
And I totally blame by italian/brazilian culture .... food is everywhere here!
So I thought of the fasting alternate days hoping to lose some weight and giving my body a well needed break! What do you think ? worth a try???

My ERTDs after pregnancy became more regular but heavier.I asked my mum and auntie and they said that I am more of exception in the family (everyone else ERTD was lighter after pg).
My PMT improved a great deal though!!!

This weekend I will sunbathe and go swimming with DS as DH recover a bit. I am wary of breaking his stents!!! Still freaked!!!

notsoold · 09/08/2012 12:50

tobyI love Brighton!!! Jealous of you!!!

Kittenkatzen · 09/08/2012 15:04

welcome toby....I grew up in Brighton, one of my favourite places to be - especially on a sunny weekend like this one supposed to be :)

notso hope your DH is feeling better now - JSing with stents in must be pretty scary!

On the 5:2 diet I don't think the 2 days have to be together do they? I've not tried it yet but am intrigued as am carrying about a stone or so that I could stand to lose. The main reason I've note tried it yet is because I'm the worlds worst grumpy cow when I'm hungry so I'm worried it would end in divorce! DH says I'm like Joan Collins/big hairy rugby player in the Snickers advert.......:o

Horse sorry ertd got you :(

TobyLerone · 09/08/2012 18:45

Thanks for the welcomes :)

There will be no shagging on my bell tent weekend, sadly. ERTD caught up with me this afternoon. Ah, well. More wine for me :o
