Just Shagging Part 10; No science or skill, JS at will!

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/06/2012 14:03

Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

As I seem to be missing from the roll call I'll add myself here (I'll try not to take it personally Woman

Name: ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs, Lives: Yorkshire, DCs: DS aged 5 and DD aged 2, TTC: 3 months.

DD is a nightmare today. I had to collect her from nursery yesterday afternoon because she was poorly. She doesn't normally sleep in the day but I let her nap with her being a bit under the weather. Cue one wide-awake toddler at bedtime. Finally managed to get her to sleep at around 11pm. We thought she would sleep in this morning, but no such luck. She is now wingy and tearful. Oh and free to a good home!

Weather warm but not sunny here today, still at least we can play outside. Meeting people from church at the playground/park this afternoon so fingers crossed it stays dry. Hope you all have a good day.

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 25/07/2012 10:30

Ooh add me to the list - no DC and TTC about 4 months now!
Live on outskirts of Manchester - in fact was in Nicola's neck of the woods last night - we have an old VW beach buggy and took it to Southport beach (Yes we were the ones that did a very loud donut on the sand Grin)

Kittenkatzen · 25/07/2012 10:46

Morning JSers!

Much less grumpiness in kitten towers today you'll be please to hear :)

Welcome viscious

Hooya I was on the pill for 14 years, and when I came off in early May DH didn't know what had hit him! Shagtastic indeed :o has died down a bit now though...

Toooooopppppppppppppppppp where are you????! We need NEWS! :o:o

It's a beautiful 30 degrees and sunny as you like here in central London - I shall be spending my lunch hour hunting down a patch of greenery to sun worship from!

Guinea, my understanding was there is only room on this thread for one animal related named MN-er, so you, Kitten, ViciousChicken & me are going to have to fight it out for BFP & piss orf soon Grin Infact it should be the law than animally named MN-ers get instant BFP...
Fingers are crossed for dry weather for you, but I really want it to rain in London, although after Kitten has her sunbathing break.

Hooya, only reason I've been doing the roll call is because you can set the colours of OP posters (to purple) and your own (to green), it just makes it easier for me/others to find the roll call for updating.

Welcome Vicious!

Looking forward to top news.

Morning shaggers!

nothing new to add here. Tonight is the night! Hopefully after Batman :)

Im working today and it's really busy, so I'm trying to avoid work by MNing. I'm a bad person

Kittenkatzen · 25/07/2012 11:07

woman how do you make the colour changes that sounds really useful...I just had a quick squizz round myMN but couldn't see it, probably looking in the wrong place though...

I don't think you'll be getting your rain today or tomorrow i'm afraid - apparently we're due thunderstorms on friday though.

frying hope you enjoy the film, I've heard good things about it (and anything with Tom Hardy in gets my vote quite frankly....). Tried to book DH and I tickets for tonight but our local IMAX is full so we'll leave it a week or so I think.

swimmingnotdrowning · 25/07/2012 11:51

I thought of you this morning kitten as I gave DH an ear bashing for being ready to leave five minutes early this morning! Glad kitten towers is a happier place today - hopefully swimming towers (pool?) will be tomorrow. Smile

top, if you need someone to commiserate with, let me know (ERTD arrived 4 days late here - boo) and if you have good news that would be the perfect cheer up. FX.

Vaguely wondering about broaching the subject of doctors with DH. This is cycle seven and I was diagnosed with pcos about 12 years ago so I've always known I might need help but I'm not sure if that is premature - the nurse at my pre-TTC rubella test said to try for a year before coming back but i am early thirties and these things can take a while and I'd ideally like more than one child. What do you think?

topbannana · 25/07/2012 12:08

Morning!!
BFN this morning but my cycle has been varying lengths and the bastard pharmacist gave me "on the day" HPT's rather than the early response one I had intended. Still do not feel ERTDish so all is not yet lost :)
swimming I would pop to the docs and explain exactly what you said up there It makes sense to get "in the system" early and if you want more than one DC then you are being realistic in your expectations- good luck :)

NicolaHazel · 25/07/2012 12:25

Afternoon all!

So...you're a beach menace, Stuck?! Were you at Ainsdale beach? We had a BBQ there after work a few weeks ago and it was loud donut central!

I'm so stupidly busy at work...finished just before 10 last night and I can see the same happening the next couple of nights too :-( Not going to let it stop me DTD tomorrow, though...poor H2B deserves the attention, after all!

Hooya · 25/07/2012 12:34

Evening all!

top boo to BFN and rubbish pharmacist, but glad that hope lives on!

stuck beach buggy sounds awesome, Grin for donuts!

horse chuckling at the thought of a chicken, horse, kitten and guinea pig fighting it out for a BFP - now have comical image of an actual chicken trying to POAS!

Here it was a rubbish day at work and ERTD is just teasing me with "now you see me, now you don't" .

WingDefence · 25/07/2012 19:39

Evening shaggers!

So much to catch up on. These comments are not necessariy in the right order!
Top what an arse about the BFN. It's nt over until the ERTD sings though...!

Kitten whereabouts do you work in C. London? When I'm down for work my offices are just off the Strand...

For anyone who doesn't know, for customising your threads, click on the 'customise' link just under Mumsnet Talk at the top of the thread. I personally have the OP in olive green and me lavender/light pink.
The absolute best thing though is to have the bookmark facility set. Especially for giant threads like this! Once you've set it, you'll see that if you hover over the very bottom right of a post (eg the last line of a post, put your finger or mouse pointer over to the right) al click on the bookmark link. Then whenever you come back to the link it automatically takes you to the bookmark. When you set it again it forgets the previous one. Genius!

Welcome Vicious! Love the fact that there is a northern contingency on here as I am an honorary one even if I am still trying to hang onto my southern vowels...! Grin Obviously once we are all upduffed, Southport is going to be the place for a meet-up!

Nicola I went through an awful patch of past-midnight working l
I the last couple of months. It's slacked off a bit now but will ramp up again next week. Might also have something to do with my procrastination

Hooya I have no idea what ERTD is doing in my case either. * TMI alert Normally after the first day I'm a tampon-every-2/3-hours type girl for the next couple of days then it slows down for a day or so then stops. This time it's been 2x half tampons (IYKWIM?) a day, dark brown with v v dark red almost black (WTF!) just on the tip of the tampon. It's really odd. Of course, saying all this means that it'll arrive with a BOOM in the morning but that's better that it just sodding around like this. End of TMI *

Sorry anyone I have left out :(

I took DS to the Sandcastle waterpark in Blackpool today and we had a FAB time! DH is away with work tonight so I have Wine and am about to watch BINTM because although I love watching football and this will sound treacherous, I find women's footy dull Blush

WingDefence · 25/07/2012 19:41

Swimming I forgot to say good luck if you do decide to go to the Dr. You could always say you've been trying for a year already if you really want to get seriously checked out...?

Dysgu · 25/07/2012 19:52

Hello again - I have only caught up with the latest posts on the last page so far, look like I have about 3 more pages to read through to see what arrived on has been happening.

Still, hurrah it is the summer holiday! The last week of school was crazy and I am sure we all felt like we were chasing our tails to stand still (mixed metaphors there!) and then I think every teacher was in this week for 2 days just to get to the point of finishing stuff for the holidays.

but now the holiday and the sun (and the Queen!) have arrived on the island so everything is good.

ERTD also arrived last week (just in time fro Leavers' Prom doh!) so we are trying again this month (hopefully tonight if we can get the kids out of the bath and into bed!)

AWomanCalledHorse · 25/07/2012 20:14

Kitten, hope wing explained it alright, didn't realise there was a choice of colours!
Wing, that's a very odd souding ERTD. Does dehydration affect 'flow'? Could it be that?
I noticed Olympic football was on earlier and was 'YAY'!, but then noticed it was womans football and was 'Boo! Booooring'. I don't feel bad as there are certain sports I'd rather watch the womens than the mens..

top, glad you're still not feeling ERTD-y! Fingers are still crossed for you!

swimming it can't hurt to go the Dr and have a pre 1yr wait talk. You know it's the sort of thing that will get you a BFP. Plus, if your Dr is an arse about it all you've got time to find a decent fertility friendly one. IYSWIM?
I went to my GP about heavy periods, they perscribed a months worth of drugs as a test & told me to come back after my next period...then I got my BFP, Grin now the drugs are free as I'm still under maternity exemption, hurrah!

Hooya, would a chicken need to POAS? do they ovulate before laying an egg Confused it would be pretty weird if we were all waiting to lay an egg, imagine if you just laid one at night & woke up with one!?

We had use for an afternoon shagcape here Grin but now DH is working & we'll be like ships in the night again until the 2nd week of August. Nicola, good luck DTD tonight!

OP posts:
Practisingparent · 25/07/2012 22:18

Top fx for you

Wing as woman suggests, dehydration could be the reason for strange ERTD. Mine was lighter and more concentrated looking when we were on holiday in a hot country.Confused

woman afternoon shagging is lovely, think its my favorite, particularly if there is no rush, makes me feel very relaxed for rest of day. Morning I always worry about morning breath (not just me, but dh), and evening I usually feel too tired! Do not get many opportunities at moment though.

Scheduled for js tonight, must try not to go to bed too late!

WingDefence · 25/07/2012 23:03

Hmm, that's not a bad point but it's only been 18-20 degrees up here these past few days and I've been drinking a fair amount (same as normal I think but who knows!?!).

Thanks anyway my dears. Hope you all got your shag capes on those who were planning to!

Night Bear

Hooya · 25/07/2012 23:28

Morning all!

horse I wish we did just lay eggs, I absolutely hate ERTD even though it seems even off the pill mine is almost painless! And I am quite frightened of actually being pg, so sitting on an egg would be preferable!

wing I'm with you on women's football, and always feel like I'm letting the side down but it's just nowhere near as good as the mens' game!

practising agree on afternoon shagging, though for morning breath there is always a (ahem) non face-to-face position! Or sometimes I say "just going to brush my teeth" which is probably the worst chat-up line ever Blush

Dysgu hope you had a fun evening!

I have now decided ERTD is formally over and JSing will recommence this evening after a rubbish day of meetings and a work dinner thing that as usual I can't really be bothered to go to. Will be spending some of it sending rude emails to DP, I expect!

NicolaHazel · 26/07/2012 07:26

Morning all :-)

No DTD last night as I was working until almost 10 again...we are having a really shit time at work right now. I need to get pregnant as I really want time off!

But, I have promised H2B I won't work tonight, so I'm going to entice him to bed and crack open the Conceive Plus for the first time! Fx it does its job!

How is everyone today? I get the feeling there's a few shag capes about! :-)

fryingpantoface · 26/07/2012 08:01

Morning all!

No JS here. DH was looking after ds yesterday and his mom asked her to help him do something. Long story short it took all day. He came straight from helping his mom to my work so we could go see Batman. We saw the movie, then went home. BUT there was a fire in a building on our route home, so the buses were diverted, so we couldn't get the bus until we had walked 2 miles down the road (I was in heels!), then the bus didn't turn up so we got a taxi home.

It took us 2 hours to get home. So got home about 11, and then just crashed. I'm so glad the baby stayed at my MILs. Up for work at 6, so now i'm nackard.

No JS for us, prob not tonight because i've got SW and dh is going to play pool. I'm just so bloody tired!

and that's the end of the pity party!

Kittenkatzen · 26/07/2012 09:22

Morning jsers Smile

Lol at all the chicken/egg talk, that does sound a bit easier doesn't it!

Thanks wing and horse for the colouring tips, will take a look at that sounds very handy especially the bookmarking tip!

Nicola Angry to work being so busy for you, hopefully it quietens down soon! And Grin at cracking open the conceive plus like a celebration!

Wing my office is by St Paul's cathedral so not a million miles from the Strand!

Am on phone so sorry if I've missed loads!

swimmingnotdrowning · 26/07/2012 11:10

Morning all.

dysgu hope you had fun and yay for queenie.

wing those are some top MN thread tips - any more for us newbies?

Do chickens even pee at all?

swimmingnotdrowning · 26/07/2012 11:13

Ps boo to ERTD that not only spoils things by showing up uninvited but then misbehaves while it out stays its welcome - hope it pulls its socks up.

topbannana · 26/07/2012 11:54

Hmm A few stomach cramps last night but all gone now and still no sign of ERTD. Currently on a bus on a "day out" DS and I have not killed each other yet so all is still going to plan :o

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 26/07/2012 14:27

Wow, so much to catch up on.

Goodness me Top your evening out seemed to end dramatically! I don't think I would have attempted to walk to the bus stop/home in heels, but then I did have knee surgery last December and can barely sit in heels!

Went to the Drs this morning with strange rash thing. Surprise surprise they didn't know what it was, but I was prescribed antihistamines for the itchiness (my neck has claw marks in it!). She asked me if I was pregnant and I said 'your guess is as good as mine' (not what she was expecting me to say methinks). I then told her about TTC and weird scarily short ERTD preceded by 4ww). She said I should do another test before taking the tablets because I could still be pg. I strangely don't want to PIAR because I hate getting BFNs. Infact I feel like I may not want to PIAR ever again and think I'll just wait until I get pg and can feel the baby kicking!

Is it just me or does anyone else have HPT phobia?!

Being pregnant is different for everybody Hooya but I feel certain that there will be bits of it you'll love (beautiful bonding experience when baby starts kicking) and bits of it you'll hate (desire to rip aforementioned baby out of your belly button for making you uncomfortable). It is definitely worth it IMO. I am TTC DC3 and I am a HORRENDOUS pregnant person. DH is dreading it!

Think we may JS tonight. Have given up on charting, such as it is...having not managed to proceed after my first temp check on day 1! I have, however, invested in Wilkinson's finest OPKs (£2.88 for 5 btw). Not to replace the JSing like something method but I would like to know whether I am infact ovulating.

Sorry for the super long post, I am currently meant to be writing an intro chapter for my thesis. I had a supervision this morning where my supervisors wanted to know what I had been writing. I felt like printing out the thread and handing it to them but I didn't think they'd see the funny side Grin. If anyone asks, I've been 'positioning' myself within the sociological literature Wink ...
