Great news kittens! I am so glad you got some good news this morning.
PQ, i hope you are doing ok and not going too stir crazy in hospital. Hope your little one continues to stay put a bit longer.

Good luck with all the pred weaning that's going on. I had a taste of it on Monday when i accidently forgot to take all my medication first thing (usually 6 for me) and only remembered at midday. OOOOh the headache!

Re acupuncture, i used a Zita West one (if you look on her website it lists all the Zita West accredited ones in your area). I had it for about 9 or 10 months after mc number 2 and did not fall pregnant in that time (i was hoping it may speed ttc up) but it did do amazing things to my cycle. It made luteal phase longer and i got my period bang on lunch time every 4th sunday, weird! It also made my periods heavier (i was concerned about light periods as i got older and that this may be due to thin/deficient womb lining). It seems to be very sucessful with those not ovuluting or with PCOS from what i have heard. I did also have sessions pre/post IUI (he used the technique he uses pre and post IVF transfer) and the IUI worked both times but not sure if coincidence or not. My DH also had 4 sessions to improve sperm morphology, there was no improvement in his sample between 1st and 2nd IUI so not convinced about application on males. Hope that helps. In a nutshell i would recommend but not convinced it helped that much for me fertility wise but probably aided implantation and womb blood flow pre/post IUI.

kittens great news, so pleased for you! Just what I was lurking for. Long may your radiant glow continue.

pq been thinking about you lots, hang in there, you are in the best place. I was also admitted (St George's) at a similar point in my pregnancy and at least the constant monitoring is reassuring, rather than worrying away at home. Must be tough though. I hope DS is faring well and not too fazed by all the changes.

Sorry for lack of other personals. Haven't really caught up and really should be at least attempting sleep at 3.30am. Waving :)

Had my nuchal scan and it seemed good! (don't get results until next week, but we saw the measurement was 1.4mm, which is normal). So relieved. Also told 70% chance it's a boy! Argh, outnumbered! I will prob get a phone call telling me I'm high risk because I'm such an ancient old bird, but all my instincts are telling me things are fine, and one thing I've learnt to do over my very long journey to have a second child is to trust my gut.

Baby was bouncing like crazy - sonography was chuckling away. Arms and legs going like the clappers.

Excellent scan news sarah.

I just read in The Telegraph that apparently we may all be "super fertile" .. www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9495417/Recurrent-miscarriage-caused-by-super-fertility.html . Ok, so that makes it all better then .. Hmm

Im so happy to hear the great news about kittens and sarahs999. I too read the super fertile article. It holds true for me, I've been pregnant 9 times (with 2 live babies) and every time I have got pregnant the first month I have tried. As Arianhod said, doesn't lessen the pain though.

Great news about the scan Sarah, what a relief.

That article is annoying and doesn't ring true for me. We have fertility issues and recurrent miscarriage issues, hurrah!

Sorry if i sound a bit grumpy, i have been mildly panicking the last few days as preg symptoms are dwindling. Not so nauseous and not needing to wee so much. Is this normal at 10.5 weeks? Just want to fast forward to my scan next Thursday. Also irrationally worried as last 2 mc's were discovered just after a bank holiday (easter this year and royal wedding one last year) so seem to have got a bit of a panic going on about bank holidays and impending bad news. I know i sound like a nutter but i think this whole ttc for so long with mc's along the way has made me lose the plot.

Hope everyone has a lovely bank hol x

Hi jemimapuddleduck I
So know the feeling of wanting to ff
Time til the next scan. Sorry to hear you're having a wobble, totallly natural. Symptoms go up and down and by 10.5 weeks you're used
To them too so don't notice them as much. Seriously think you've passed such a
Milestone and you will be aok come next Friday. Doesn't lessen the anxiety though. You do not sound like a nutter, with your experiences you are bound to panic but trust your body that baby is just in there doing its own thing. Hope you're doing something nice this weekend and Friday will be here in no time, even though it doesn't feel like that.

Congratulations cornflakes. I imagine you have the fear like
Mad, but this time hopefully the dosage is right and you'll get to to
The
Finish line. Best of luck in the world.

I had a big row with dH today renTrying again. I've been feeling terrible weaning Off the pred with shocking headaches and now a cold, just compounding the feelings of being gutted. I Don't want to wait for a period before ttc again but he does and, rather insensitively, I thought for Me To shift the extra stone I'm now carrying after this failed preg and Steroid bout. I know he's probably right and sensible but I just want to be pregnant again. :((

Report
Jemimapuddleduk · 26/08/2012 14:41

Thanks megmum for your kind words. Others have said too that symptoms start to dwindle at 10 week ish so I am hoping all is still going ok. I have managed to keep myself busy with a weekend away with a good friend (who isn't ttc or pregnant, so quite refreshing to talk about other stuff).
I am sorry you have had a crap time with coming off the steroids, are you nearly fully weaned? Sorry too to hear about the arguing. I know me and dh did a lot of that after each mc, sometimes pushing each other away when you need them the most. The biological urge to want to be pregnant as soo as possible is undeniably strong and one that blokes probably just can't get their head round. I think I would be tempted to try as soon as possible.
Hi cornflakes, it sounds like you have had a really hard year. Congratulations on your bfp and I am really hoping it is 7th time lucky for you and that the higher dose of steroids do their magic. I can imagine you are probably feeling super anxious too at the mo. Do you have any early scans booked?
duggs thank you for updating the stats. Can someone tell me how you select and cut and paste the list to update? Feel like a lazy ar*e as others keep doing it for me. Can you do it on I phone or tablet or does it have to be on a proper laptop thingy?

Hiya. Just back from a festival in Somerset, feel like I've been on another planet in a good way, glad to be in a proper bed again though.

sarah great news on your scan, sounded like a lovely experience.

meg sorry about the row with DH, where are you in the weaning process? I am at 10mg and only now getting headaches and also feeling really tired. The weaning process takes a lot out of you so go easy on yourself, and remind DH of the chemical minefield your body must be. It's hard to know what's hormonal and what's drugs but regardless we can be forgiven for not being ourselves for a bit. Know the feeling of just wanting to be pregnant again... I miss that little bit of hope.

duggs no idea what's next for me but he is bound to say this was a random and try the same again. I feel I can give it one (only one) more go on this plan but will try to get some other tests through my GP in the meantime. My follow up is end of September, but probably ttc fairly soon.

cornflakes hello again, so so sorry to hear about your recent loss, I think you must have had fairly similar dates to mine, it was my sixth pregnancy too. Wow well done on the BFP surely this has to be the lucky one. Do you mind me asking if you waited a cycle before trying again?

jemima wishing you a ff button and lots of distraction til your scan.

pq been thinking of you, are you ok out there?

kittens how did your non-drinking subterfuge go?

Hi scooter can't believe youve been camping at a festival - I just worked out its been 13 years since I did that! Impressed. I am officially too much of a princess to do that anymore. The midwives thought I was hilarious with my silicone earplugs and eye shade on the ward (but I have to say it did come in handy as there was usually some kind of emergency at 2am every morning with sirens going off and lights coming on).

sarah I don't think I said congrats on the nuchal scan. Yay!

jemima I can't cut and paste on an iPad, have to do it on a normal computer in my case - and ours has lost its Internet connection (according to Dh Hmm ...that's usually my department but since I can't bend over it could be a while before I can get under the desk and fix it) . My fingers are well adm truly crossed for you and cornflakes and kittens (and everyone else who needs it and who my birdlike brain has forgotten of course)

7 nights in hospital is a loooong time and it was good to be in my own bed last night without someone waking me up at 1am to take obs. though I do miss having someone check on the baby every 4 hours! I am now an outpatient and will go to hospital every other day for monitoring and the plan is to see how long I last (going into labour or infection - whichever comes first). oh, and - tmi- wearing tena lady disposable pants as I gush out amniotic fluid whenever I walk around which is truly delightful but is a good motivation to take it easy like I'm supposed to (and amusing ds who thinks it is hilarious that I am wearing nappies)

Big wave to everyone else
